it’s also ridiculous that killing a vet only gives 2 times and killing a champ only gives 3.5 times the amount of xp of a normal mob. the time it takes is way more than that, not speaking of difficulty…..
Personally I wouldn’t care a bit for more xp. Also a direction to 1 of the hundret events doesn’t change anything
ppl leveling would. that’s what I’m trying to address here. orr is a different story yeah.
I think it would change a lot actually. if they get a lot of hearts marked at once the first time they get out into the world AND you even tell them to do one, they kinda feel like “ok, I have to do these now”. and they do them. and they kinda get in the habit of doing hearts then. basically they are setting hearts up as the main open world content of the game.

it’s in the OP. make it give a bit more xp and start out with an npc telling you to complete 1 event in your personal story instead of a heart. further steps may be required, but this is a good start imo.
edit: at the moment they give 7% of the event level(if gold and not failed!!) while hearts give 8%. that’s ridiculous. 10-12% please. also hearts give people a sense of “completion”. so ppl are more inclined to do them instead of events because of human nature. they are also stable and guaranteed unlike DEs.

they could add an event counter to the map completion, which resets each week. Not the exact number of events, but about 10-15 for each zone. Get it done and you’ll get a minor map-completion reward each week.

Fractals of the Mists is already one of the most rewarding parts of the game, and already has a lot of people farming it regularly. Rather than increasing the rewards, the skins should be purchasable with Pristine Fractal Relics so players don’t have to rely on RNG.

I get, on average, 1g from a 1h 40min fractal run(48). meanwhile, cof yields 7g an hour and is substantially easier. what I’m doing is ~12 times less “rewarding”. it also requires specialized gear and a time investment to get here.
I typically get 1.5g from 45 minute fractal runs, and those are on the lower difficulties. Of course CoF is more rewarding because the only thing more rewarding than CoF farming is power trading. I said that fractals is one of the most rewarding, not the most rewarding.
except it isn’t.. running any random dungeon is better than fotm.. or killing world bosses XD or guild missions whatever. it’s ridiculous. this is the hardest content in the game, should give at least 6g/h on 48. and cof needs nerfed
basically DEs>hearts, but the first thing a new player gets is being told to complete a heart and get hearts marked all over the map.
a lot of ppl just grind through the hearts of a zone and occasionally do a DE because they assume that’s what they are supposed to be doing, especially with all these zone completion popups going around, but imo the game is much more enjoyable when completely disregarding hearts. can we have a proper introduction to dynamic events for new players please? also a slight boost in experience gained from DEs wouldn’t hurt in my opinion.

Wouldn’t that mean that if you hit a few mobs 16 level above you and a friend helps you kill them or some events where you hit enough for gold but your friend tanks wouldn’t that mean you get a level for all 6-8 monsters?
anet already has systems in place to counteract this

What I’m trying to say is that the xp seem just fine in my opinion. Everything is dependent on either your level or the level of the section. Unfortunately most was calculated on percentage. You can’t really change the xp difference except adding a modifier that brings your personal level into it which would only over complicate things.
again, the percentage is fine. you get a percentage of the level of the mob/event/hear/whatever. what we need however is a higher multiplier on subsequent levels for exp required. this makes it so that a heart that gives 8% of the level it is, if it were 4 levels above you, it gave 16% for example. this is a very simple change I’m asking for. the only thing ppl would notice is higher exp numbers(prolly mostly noticing it on their 80s so instead of 13k xps, you’d get 110 million which is not an aesthetically pleasing number on a UI, but it’d improve the game a lot).
edit: obviously this should be capped, even currently at 10 levels plus, so you can’t go around in frostgorge with your lvl2 character getting wps and stuff. so if whatever you got is over 10 levels above you, you get the lvl10 reward.
edit2: but yeah, you could solve it by introducing new code and giving people more xp for higher content using a modifier to avoid big numbers.

Same old low mobs? When walking through a complete different area I hardly meet the mobs I attacked in the area I was before. You should consider going on a journey exploring the other races area’s. That’s what I do when trying to level one of my characters. I level all my characters only with exploring and crafting and I have to say it works greatly and goes quite swiftly.
doesn’t matter. they are boring. only challenge you’re gonna find is mobs 4+ levels above you or champions the same level as you.
You do get more xp from higher level areas.
yes I’m aware of that. however, it also takes more time to kill higher mobs and that may or may not slow things down.
the difference of the required experience to level between levels just isn’t high enough. you only need 50% more xp to level from 9 to 10 than to level from 5 to 6. and that’s the better part of it coz by the time you’re level 16, it goes down to 24%. so you gain 24% more xp for doing something that’s FOUR LEVELS HIGHER THAN YOU.
this, on average takes more time than doing content of your own level. so you either challenge yourself and are punished or you keep doing the same old low mobs and are rewarded for that.
this number should be at least a 100% imo. aka you get double xp for doing something 4 levels above you, 68.5% more xp for something 3 levels above you etc etc.. it’s really not hard to implement either. they just need to change the values on experience required/level.

This game isn’t about levels. At level 80, the game turns into a sandbox game. There is upscaling and downscaling because you’re supposed to replay old zones. Anet will make the world more dynamic. So old zones are fun to play.
Anet doesn’t want powerleveling either. They want you to move through the zones at a consistent pace. So you know the story and how to play the game. Level 1-79 is training.
this game is partly about levels. you ever play diablo for example? you can noob about killing low mobs slowly getting there or you can push, it and if you don’t suck, it will be faster. for some people, that “training” is way too long.
We still plan to do both new legendary weapons, as well as a clear path (on top of the current random chance) to gain precursors which players can see their progress and understand how much work they have left to do to gain it.
It’s highly likely the precursor concept will involve playing varied different content all over the game to gather numerous content specific materials that are combined together to make a precursor.
We do also want to maintain that chance you could get lucky and earn one earlier through random drops, so when we add the new system we will not remove the current one to ensure players have multiple ways to gain the items. Also with the upcoming update to WvW, there will be a chance players can earn precursors from the WvW rank reward chests as well.
why do they drop from world bosses but not from high level jade maw chest? ………..

The biggest problem is that they use the left AND right mouse-button also to select targets.
this too. and it’s such an easy fix that it’s obvious they give zero kittens
control effects are completely and utterly useless against any boss. this needs fixing. wtf is 15+ defiant on some bosses and even then, a lower control effect duration…. ?

You’re not an inferior class. They’re just looking for a specific group composition with specific classes to do a specific type of run.
Just respect their wishes, move on and make you’re own group or join some one looking for some thing similar you’re looking for.

it doesn’t seem to calculate the required distance to not clip like all other shields in the game. (wearing TA heavy armor on a female sylvari)

I’d say it’s at least slightly hard for the majority of ppl playing this game. it also takes a lot of time compared to every other skin(maybe except legendaries, but you can buy those with rl money so..). and what else are you getting for getting to 48 really? greens? lol.
it’s just skins. I think at 48, it should drop every run. why? it’s account bound+RANDOM LOL. at 49+, you could have more than one drop.
beyond 40 it should be raining skins. for kittens sake, they require you to get to level 40(or 20 for lower chances) in fractals which takes a kittenton of time, they are ACCOUNT BOUND, and are RANDOM. and it’s the hardest content in the game……….

I think fotm loot is severely underwhelming when you take into account the difficulty, the time investment(to even get to high levels) and the gear investment(AR).
in fact, defiant stacks scales with nearby players, well at least in open world events it does. so which dungeon boss have 12+ stacks? i don’t recall any having more then 5
i dont remember whether normal dungeon bosses do, however in fractals I’m seeing 15 everywhere. it’s pretty horrible tbh.
