I’d guess the loot bags from legendaries could be nice, but fractals players need some sort of income, especially considering it’s harder than any other content currently ingame. does the upcoming dungeon change include fractals? currently people get around 80s a full 48 run, which I don’t think does fractals justice.
maybe something like 30s at lvl1/fractal(and then call it first/second/third fractal for the day and lock further rewards that day) scaling slightly exponentially to 2g/fractal at 48(so let’s say it would give 90s/fractal at 28). I’d prefer hard to obtain skins over the current system anet is planning to introduce, just because it is flexible – if the dungeon is hard, demand will be higher because people unable to complete it will still want the skins, thus autocorrecting itself somewhat(this worked well in gw1), but leaving fractals out of a change like this doesn’t really make sense to me.
discuss!
Ok guys, since you are all only focusing on tiny portions of my posts, I am just going to stop posting to prevent further confusion.
I will say again though; I don’t want anyone to be confused that I think hit boxes or skill effects are the only things that matter. This is very much NOT what I was saying. Not at all.
rage
lol @ the kittenstorm. you people can’t have a nice, peaceful discussion?
yes, stealth and perma evade needs to be toned down significantly and thieves given other tools to offset this.
Stop crying that you can’t kill every boss in a single try. It’s ok to make players wipe until they learn.
And that is why you are not a game designer.
you have no idea what you’re talking about.
those looking for skins, don’t even bother doing any other levels but 48. At lower levels all you get is rings. I did a 48 yesterday after like a week of not doing fotm and got another fractal hammer
That couldn’t be further from the truth actually, from what I’ve seen 38 has just as much chance for a skin as 48 does. Over months and months of experience.
I got a fractal GS at my first level 20 when fotm was released, 3 dailies later i got another fractal weapon in daily 20’s. You will get fractal weps on other levels but gl even coming close to the amount you get at 48 and i say this by experience, not tell you what some random dude told me.
It’s not just me though, I’ve witnessed it with everyone I regularly do Fractals with. 48 really is no better than 38 for skin chances. 20+ clearly has a lower chance. I’d rather believe first hand evidence than some random dude…
there is a reddit thread with statistics that says otherwise.
I think I’ve said this before, but I’ve done Fractals 48 with all kind of setups and it always comes down to skill, not profession.
Once I did it with 2 Rangers (one being myself), 1 Ele, 1 Warrior and 1 Thief. Second fractal was Grawl Shaman and everyone started freaking out.
Thing is, we did it without wipes, it was one of the most smooth boss fights I’ve had in a while, and we did it without any Guardians, when everyone thinks you NEED a Guardian or whatever to finish that fractal at lvl 48 (Not to mention Rangers are not very welcomed in Fractals 48).
I try to stay away from “only guardians” post and the like in gw2lfg.com or people that start spewing elitists comments when I join the party, those are the groups that end up failing.
except you don’t understand. it’s a pug. it doesn’t cost much time asking for an optimal class to fill a slot. wiping 10 times at asura or grawl does cost time. your one-time example doesn’t hold ground. if someone thinks either through theorycrafting or past experiences that it’s worth it(it is in most cases), let them.
Maybe they plan to do something about it when they redesign dungeon rewards. I’d imagine something along the lines of X0 prestine relics
do you not think through what you are saying? pristines get awarded the most for running lvl10 repeatedly, this would completely devalue the skins…..
gl trying to get through shaman with that comp :‘D even tho it’s only l20, he is right assuming that none of you are mad pros who are just leveling their kitten-in-fotm alts and otherwise have l48 mains
Ok, THIS is exactly the problem that I’m trying to address in this topic.
We did do the Shaman during that run at level 20. None of my party members were “mad pros” and we still defeated the Shaman. It was hard work, because that Shaman is pretty tough, but we did fine. And for the record, I have not done Fractals at level 40+ yet.
This is why you shouldn’t judge players based on their class.
nobody “judges” nothing here. there is an optimal comp for everything and necro/necro/ranger/war/guard is far from it for shaman. he wanted a smooth run, so it’s better for a necro to find another team for example… everyone wins! ….
I’m not keen on the attitude against certain classes, without first having seen how those players actually perform in battle. It seems inherently arrogant to assume that your prows in combat are undisputed because you are playing a guardian, yet others are by default bad because they play a ranger or a necro.

So what do you assume?
? …

lol i’d like to see it happening…
I’d bet they would be under 10G in less than a week and possibly become stable at 2-3G.Too many people have bank tabs full of them……
p.S. the torch is awesome :| the GS is awful.
rofl no. a huge market would open for them and unlike world boss chests, not everyone capable of standing still and spamming autoattack could get one. the gs would never go below 50g. have you seen the prices rare dungeon specific skins had in gw1?
I would like to share the same opinion. It seems that being good and skilled at killing others just results in vengeful players.
The mechanics are PERFECT. Absolutely nothing needs to be changed.
So if you kill a lot of people, you wish to be somehow – rewarded? By getting special protection? But.. you killed a lot of people – that IS your reward, you got a load of points.
That is part of the fun and excitement, you killed someone and you know he is around, vengeful and trying to kill you. It’s creepy, spooky, even scary, since you can’t see them.
What about the player who died? Would you lock him in a cage on the other side of the island? Is he not frustrated? Shouldn’t he get a chance to get revenge?
If the dead players didn’t spawn on top of their killers, I bet you that all the people agreeing with OP in this topic, would create a topic asking for the mistforms to be spawned on top of their killers
yes, killing people should be a viable way to play this minigame right next to avoiding everything and just trying to survive. lol @ your argument tbh.
just boot people who die into another game…… no point to this bs mechanic.
also can we get a trial arena and a proper arena without grace period as well?
I have 6 fractal skins that i worked hard for (so many runs!). My guild mate got a precusor in one run.
I have made 0 gold, he has made 600 gold from the drop of a decent skin.
There is no reason to not have fractal skins on sale, and they would be about 50 – 100 gold i reckon.
there is a reason. it is a status symbol currently, and you would take that all away and reduce them to below legendary status if they could be bought(I’d think skins like sword/greatsword would easily go for 300g tho). what they could do is introduce another skin set dropping similarly(tho maybe less drops on low lvls) and have them sellable. would be a good way to make l48 fractals give more loot than… sanctum sprint rofl
aaaaaaaand explorable too. woodenpotatoes would be the perfect person to do these by the way. no actual fighting, just the story.
As much as I dislike this sort of attitude myself, I’m getting tired of people pointing to downed Guardians and Warriors and saying how much they suck, when in fact it’s usually these classes that are up at front meleeing things that are the real heroes in dungeons.
I notice your character is using staff, which is understandable against Mossman since he’s such a frustrating boss to melee (so I’d give a pass there), but if you were staying at range the whole time for every fractal while your Guardian was up there in melee, well…
Basically, one’s ability to stand at range and cast spells while others run up in the front and melee, holding aggro and dealing more damage, isn’t really indicative of the ranged player’s skill. It shows their ability to be carried by others willing to fight head to head, melee, with mobs.
this x1000
lol @ this community.. moving on now
Yep misleading title. Nothing to see here, thanks for wasting almost 9 minutes of our time.
not my fault that you can’t skip vids. basically skipping to end to see score and tier would suffice if you cba to see it all. also since when do people care about kills? brb let’s clear all of arah otherwise you’re a disgrace to humanity
Candidate Trials tier 4 solo perfect…
Bronze Score at end…
solo perfect…
Bronze…
perfect…
Bronze.
perfect
Bronze, instead of Gold. Rofl…
Not sure what world you are living in, but Bronze is not perfect. You just failed hard. Perfect means you did everything right, not just some of the things.
k
When they previewed it, they said it was a challenge mission where people could rank each other based on tier and kills. I’m a little surprised they didn’t release leaderboards with it.
+1
people are always going to take the easiest path deliberately. I didn’t. I handicapped myself going solo rofl.
I say rofl to you thinking that going in solo is deliberately handicapping yourself when it’s the easiest way to do that instance. ^^ You also camped spawn points and ran to the back of the island.. not exactly playing it the way it’s meant to be played… though that’s the fault of the devs really, not yours. But, I see nothing to brag about here unfortunately. :/
who the kitten decides how it’s meant to be played? you? btw with a proper team it’s easier to 5man. chain cc, buffs etc etc. where did you see me brag?
I was sure that in a full party, those mobs you’re taking out are Vets. Almost everything are vets and 1 or 2 levels higher. The event clearly scales with numbers.
they are not vets, they are lvl 80/81(afaik both can spawn) normal mobs with more hp to accomodate more people bashing them.
Wow boring, I thought you were going to actually fight the enemies instead of using this lame excuse of a strategy.
Also glad I didn’t roll a silvary female Guardian, that retreat makes me cringe :<
lame excuse? I do not control Anet’s implementation of instances, I just play optimally.
I like Jennifer Hale a lot personally.
Well soloing Lupicus isn’t playing optimally, but some people do it for the challenge. Yes, the implementation is poor, but it’s not a reason to call tier 4 easy.
soloing Lupi and doing everything right is playing optimally in the context of a solo run. you were referring to my strategy but now you switched to talking about me soloing. poor logic.
So Bronze is considered a perfect score?
Many people seem to forget or just plain overlook the fact there is in fact two parts to this instance.
1. Stop them from stealing your goal. (which you so proved can be done solo on tier 4)
and ……2. Kill 50 enemies to get the gold award. (which you seem to forget to do on your “perfect run”)
So .. yay for finishing tier 4, but you can pull perfect from the title of the thread.
This. ^
Any class can solo T4 doing what you did. Some are even better at it. Now try soloing T4 while also getting 50+ kills.
where do you see me state that this is guardian exclusive? I’m afraid killing the vets is not an option by the way.
You cant go asking for harder content when you deliberately took the easiest path and soloed it knowing its easier to solo it than to do it in a group…
people are always going to take the easiest path deliberately. I didn’t. I handicapped myself going solo rofl.
Except that’s not a handicap it’s designed to work that way.
It scales much much lower for solo players so that people who aren’t good enough to do it in a group can still finish it.
The difficult challenge they talked about was doing it in a full group of 5. If you want to experience that then go do it. But doing the easy mode and then complaining about how easy it is, is kind of silly…
did I miss the part where 5 people needed to go in and tank and kill all the mobs instead of using the exact same strat?
Wow boring, I thought you were going to actually fight the enemies instead of using this lame excuse of a strategy.

If you want to make it harder do it in a group of 5 light armor classes.
There I just made harder content for you.
lol
I just find it hilarious that they’re all like omg we made this very hard and t4 is gonna take srs organized parties etc meanwhile you can solo the first 3 tiers without any effort
pleased to be of service
is 1080p, being processed atm. could do t3 killing everything btw
would’ve been up sooner if not for heavy lag yesterday and my 1.5Mbps upload of peace
can we get hard content now? I’ll also take this opportunity to protest against more ascended gear and ask for a fix to my fractal shield here, it clips really bad
I agree, we’d have a lot more guardians.
we don’t have enough?xd
ps +1, also making it easier to get ar on alts wood be nice
Its already too easy to get AR for alts. Do you want of my 50 rings in the bank? how about the 1500 relics for more back pieces? Now with the laurels stacking every day from rewards Im already sitting at 60. The badges of honor are stacking up as well which allow you to get rings and accessories from the WvW vendor. The list gos on…..I don’t think we need more ways to get AR for alts… just sayin.
mostly talking about accessories(1 month/alt timegate) and backpacks(expensive considering the drops in fractals) here. amulets to a lesser extent as well. you can only get rings and amus from the wvw vendor.
I agree, we’d have a lot more guardians.
we don’t have enough?xd

Please tone it down
no.
i have a 1600 dollar self built rig and i can get down to 15 fps in some wvw fights, also areas with certaint effects significantly reduce my fps, like the zone where you fight the shatterer, even when the zergs/dragon isn’t their, or mystic forge in lions arch (not as bad), some places with similair “effects” in shatterer area, but in orr.
With
i5 3570k
8gb vengence 1600mhz
7950 oc’ed to 1200mhz clockspeed
aren’t you frying dat dere gpu?
Difficulty?
15char
I guess people used to farmville find this game hard or something?
with 8 chars at lvl10, you should be able to decide what you like most and want to level to 80. leveling gets really boring after the first few levels.
No.
The reason why it is called explorable is simply because you are exploring what happened to the place after the story mode was concluded.
still OP has a point, I’d like to see dungeons like this. uw, fow come to mind mostly
this skill feels a little underwhelming, it may be good in some situations and I can imagine it being used in tpvp(even tho I don’t see it on streams), can we see a buff maybe? the guardian torch trait is very much appreciated, it just feels like it can’t be fully utilized at the moment because of this skill.
self condition removal+slight damage buff(~10-15%)?
do we not have enough classes with greatswords already?
will you be my friend wethospu?
Of course, everyone is my friend! (as long as they can solo Lupicus)
cool, I’ll add you ingame and we will spend the many years to come in tyria together <3
while your math appears to be correct it is very misleading. There is not a 13%/9% increase in stats overall, your actual power and precision % increases much less due to the large intrinsic stats you get. You have 916 in each stat without armor when you are 80.
Power: ((1486-1419)/1419)x100) = 4.7%
Precision: ((1292-1261)/1261)x100) = 2.5%
Critical Damage: ((44-35)/44)x100) = 20.46%So the overall change is minimal.
it isn’t. what, you expect your sword to hit for 0 with no power gear? this is there for balance reasons and has nothing to do with this discussion.
huh? you are trying to tell me that accounting for all the numbers is not important for doing math?!?!
Ascended gear increases your overall power by 4.7%
Ascended gear increases your overall precision by 2.5%Accounting for all the numbers is extremely important and has everything to do with the discussion.
fact is, these numbers don’t mean squat. get a warrior out there and test the dps difference ingame with proper rotations and max stacks on lupi for example and give us a percentage.
will you be my friend wethospu?

The very first thing they said about ascended items was that they were working on multiple ways to obtain them but it would take a while to roll them all out, no one “won” anything, people just complained and complained until they finished.
Many more people will leave and complain if they are easy to obtain. They are going to be time gated and expensive just as they should be.
Thankfully Anet is in charge and not the people on this forum.
you do realize that this is not an MMO for hardcores? Timegated and expensive doesn’t bode well with casuals. Asian grinders will love it though.
again, hardcore has nothing to do with idiots wanting to grind their way to victory.
ok so you will be able to craft new legendarys and ascended stuff also precursors, the forums have been asking for a form of progression new gear to work towards, craftable precursors and new legendarys and now its been confirmed you’ll dont want it?
bloody crazy i will never understand the mmo player base fully.
there are people you should and there are people you should never ever listen to
Harsh? Asc trinkets are a 3-5% overall boost to your stats. Unless you are hell-bent on always having the best items, you don’t have to get these.
Exotics will still be viable as they always were.
Crafting needed something like this to be worth-while again. No one crafts for any reason other than to level now, it’s pointless otherwise. Now you can make money and help guildies by being a 500 crafter.
except “overall” doesn’t mean anything ever. brb doing 48 fotm with white gear coz “I don’t have to have anything better” right? who cares if I make my party wipe 10 times?
this is a terrible way of making crafting … well.. it’s gonna be required now I guess?
What I’d like to see: all characters, upon reaching xx level (40? 60? 80? dunno…), can complete a quest to get a permanent 25% speed boost added to their run speed. No signets, no weapon usage, no sigils required. That would be fair.
no.
brb adding new skills instead of fixing what’s already in
being able to play with PuG requires skills.
Or people can just go with their usual party and clear content with the usual routine of skills that turns anything as easy as cof1
And i can accept it unless i see some of the same complaining about content being too easy when they trivialize it any way possible……
lol
Meh… I like that they’re coming back, but I definitely feel bringing them back solely as part of the Fractal system is a poor choice.
“QQQQQQQ I don’t play fractals so I don’t give a kitten that it hasn’t gotten an update for 9 months now and I should always get all content the way I want it”
You’re totally right! They should absolutely take full dungeon experiences created for special segments of the storyline open to everyone and quite possibly hack them up into experiences that fit within the format used for what is supposed to be the end game tier progression PvE portion of the game! Next, they should take all of the existing PvE dungeons and make them full PvP zones!
Anyway, I have no issue at all with new fractals being introduced. Sure, I barely play Fractals myself, but that wouldn’t bother me one bit. What does bother me is taking content that was intially designed for one purpose and bringing it back as something that may A.) alienate the playerbase the content was originally designed for and B.) not even allow the content to come back in it’s full original form. It’s like asking for a vanilla ice cream sandwich and then being given a bowl of chocolate ice cream.
aware me on why they should come back in their full forms? molten facility is crap until first chest(and way too easy afterwards), aetherblade could use less trash and walking around sooo…
why would it alienate anyone ever?
