At this point there is WAY too much that needs to be done with the base game to even consider an expansion. If one were to come out tomorrow there is absolutely no way they would get a dime out of me for it.
agreed. they rushed the game out and are now completely focusing on living story for dat dere gemstore monies.. very slow updates to glaringly obvious issues..
quitting this chit if level cap is increased
Dailies are to encourage people to get out into the open world and repopulate the desolate zones. So its actually pretty common that after running dungeons and fractals you may only be at 2/5.
I have the same problem with WvW.
wrong way to do it. forcing people to get ascended gear so they are competitive/can do fractals by making them do the easiest thing in the game repeatedly? strong.
can we have a l35 guy in rare gear be as effective as a l80 in exotic in AC please? ppl discriminate against low levels at the moment. doesn’t concern me anymore, just thought I’d mention it.
tbh if i run two fractals for 3 hours and then like 6 dungeons afterwards and I’m sitting at 2/5, that’s a problem.
The recent story content and the gameplay/guide videos put out by a couple devs recently basically killed any hope I had of them improving anything related to challenging/teamwork based content outside of the very light, casual friendly stuff related to the living story.
never in my life have I cringed so hard as when I was watching those streams.
Got a link to those? It’s been a rough week, I could use a nice session of pointing and laughing.
http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/videos izzy and spvp streams i’ve seen bits of. couldn’t take it after a couple mins tho
Introducing too many titles diminishes the aura to it. If you have too many, it’ll become harder to distinguish what accomplishment that title represents. A game like Rift had hundreds of titles, and most of them I couldn’t distinguish on which one was harder to obtain.
this too. gw1 had the perfect balance tbh.
that is exactly how guild wars 1 worked. titles were status symbols. you got a lot of them for actually not sucking.
I would disagree.
The only thing you needed for most titles in GW1 was simply a high amount of grinding, nothing about skill at all (unless we only count the PvP titles for some reason)
grinding too yes, but you needed at least a basic level of competency for the HM titles.
I can’t imagine how ArenaNet can make the game more difficult while catering to the weaker players.
solution: kitten the weaker players if they refuse to improve. that’s how games used to work. can’t do it? tough kitten, try harder.
I really don’t see the need to flaunt new titles that show off your accomplishments anyway. I mean, how many people are actually going to stop the questing they’re doing and think to themselves, “Hey, that’s a nice title that guy has. I’d like to have one myself to show off.”
that is exactly how guild wars 1 worked. titles were status symbols. you got a lot of them for actually not sucking. that is what we need. dungeon master is the best one atm. gonna be hard tho since there is no real hard content in the game at the moment. maybe they could make one representing your fotm level, so one after 10, another after 20 etc etc.
shoulda just named it Land of Tyria or somekitten. lets them keep the lore, lets ppl know it has nothing to do with gw1. tho i guess they wanted the gw1 playerbase buying it so it’s all fair game.
I don’t know. I’d like some harder content too. But as soon as that content comes out, someone is going to come here and start raging about the content being too hard. There are already people complaining about the reward/effort ratio.
I’m thinking that Anet doesn’t want to kitten off casual players by making rewards they can’t really get. I mean a lot of casuals won’t be getting dungeon master, even though others claim the dungeons are easy. But many people who are saying they’re too easy also talk about increasing the rewards.
And I just don’t see Anet doing that.
yes, because of some crybabies, we should take away the (fix your filter anet) essence of gaming and just play a colossal grind where the objective is dressing our character up. the more we play, the prettier they look! “content” is not just king because it’s there. the entire open world pve experience is a snoozefest because it’s all so godkitten easy and the same everywhere. but it’s still content. content nobody should be interested in playing more than once(or even at all after doing similar areas). how some people can be so weak as to come on a forum and cry about an encounter being too hard instead of manning up and doing it is beyond me. everybody is a winrar right?! except then you take away the meaning of winning…
+1 OP
Guild Wars 2 dailies are the gentlest dailies I’ve ever seen in an MMO. You only need to do 5 of the 9. Most of them you’ll get doing whatever you normally do.
If they were any easier, you might as well just get them for logging in.
who cares? so other mmos suck even harder. is this relevant in any way?

that is not true. I run fractals and I – never – get my daily. mostly goes up to 1 or 2
brb playing my character voiced by Jennifer Hale
the only thing that annoys me is the female charr voice tbh.
a daily shouldn’t be something you have to actively focus on. just randomly doing whatever you want ingame for 20 minutes should award you with it. otherwise it feels forced and will alienate players.
what I’m saying: you do a fractal, boom daily done. or a dungeon. or level up. or a story quest. or a jumping puzzle. etc etc etc
discuss.
this thread is the downfall of humanity. everything it is to be human, this thread goes completely against. we must purge this evil from existence.
Or have Arena Net mentioned anything about adding real skillful and hard content?
I wouldn’t expect any meaningful change for at least a year.
Oh noes, a business trying to make money, the horror
they may be making money now. not so much after they’ve lost all their players.
~
their business model won’t be so excellent in a year when everybody’s forgotten about gw2 and they need to go f2p. but yh I agree with you, just annoys the hell outta me.
Lol, aside from a one time purchase, you do not nee to spend anymore money on this game. Any additional money you spend is on you brah.
I’m not sure if you’ve understood my post.

First, I’d like to say that, even if the Dev team does not actively post in the forums they are always aware of what is happening.
lol k

gw2 was released clearly rushed, can we get the game to a point where it stands solid instead of trying to milk the playerbase with more gemstore crap?
they are useless because you can dodge all damage in pve. perma vigor bishessss
bump
it’s extremely important that these high-end skins look pristine
brb invulning myself when taking damage so it doesn't matter whether I have def stats or not.permanent vigor partly responsible why full zerker for everything is so viable.
perma vigor is ridiculously op. increase the cooldown at least to 12 seconds, preferably 15.
I would advise against all this temporary content when the basic foundations of the game are not set. it might be nice in a game that actually works, but gw2 was released rushed and to this day, only a small percentage of problems are fixed.
here is a video to illustrate my point(not by me):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBxStGB6-UE
^covers only a portion of the game
do not move to linkville pls.
btw I’m thinking about ~5 secs. currently, you blow a lot of skills just because they will be off cooldown the next time you’re able to swap back so yeah…
you aware that not everyone plays a warrior rite?(or takes that abysmal runeset XD)

well said
the amount of stupid in this thread is mind-boggling
On a game like GW2, in which there is no monthly fees, players who waste a lot of time with mindless and easy content are just people who waste a lot of time, nothing more.
mindless and easy content is FAR more rewarding than hard content in this game.
How dare you skip trash mobs, that is not the bushido way!
xDD +1
Ah another “People should play the way I want them to play” post complaining about skipping trash mobs. Never gets old.
this op.
What do you mean? What’s the point of noting that the post is not only important in the thread it’s in, but important for the forum community in general? I thought it would be self-explanatory.
why the added, seemingly redundant complexity when you can just count the upvotes and assign more tiers to the post? as in thumbs up/star thumbs up/underscore thumbs up/star underscore thumbs up
There are also two levels in which posts are gauged for popularity, on a per-thread basis and forum-wide. Forum-wide popularity takes into account +1s from within a set time period across the forum. Per-thread popularity takes into account all +1s in a thread. Visually, a forum-wide popular post will have a red underline beneath the thumbs-up icon.
what’s the point of that?:O
I would like to see encounters WITHOUT Defiant.
Idea applied to Arah p4 priest of Balthazar:
Spin works as a stun-break, moves much faster and actually follows people. And shoots fiery projectiles (Burning).
AoE attack (kind of like a meteor shower) takes longer to cast but gives Stability at start and is much more dangerous if it finishes.
At every 5% of lost health, a veteran Hound of Balthazar appears and priest gets one stack of “awesome powerfulness” (moves faster while spinning and does more damage, AoEs are bigger, gets deadly at ~5 stacks).Hounds inflicts Burning on their attacks and at 25% start exploding. While casting explode they are immune to damage and inflict Burning on nearby enemies. If exploding finishes, big damage and knockback. If Hound dies without exploding, it drops a bundle which you can throw at priest to remove one stack.
I want to see you stun-lock that.
some solid ideas being thrown around here
Yes it’s one of those topics again.
I’m sorry but this just got ridiculous and needs to be addressed asap.
Not even a single rare from lv 30.
Is this working as intended?
lol 48 ain’t better. maybe we should just idle for 3 minutes a day at a world boss while browsing facebook for better loot eh?
(edited by pullnointer.1476)
not like cc works on them very much after you’ve peeled those 25 stacks.
fix it now anet.
A star means there was a lot of +1’s clicked for that post. Underscore means, that it’s a lot not only on the thread scale, but on the whole forum scale as well (or wasn’t that the other way around? i can never remember).
I’m aware that they are supposed to represent some amount of +1s each
:DDDDDDDDD
wait srs?
I see different kinds of thumbs ups with stars and red underscores etc what gives
Being new to dungeons, I didn’t like the idea, so I kicked him.

even more awesome.

+1 WE NEED THIS FOLKS
what do you guys think? I kinda feel like the current high cooldowns on weapon swaps encourage rotations rather than situationary usage of skills.
you are the reason we can’t have nice things OP.
pls buff the loot instead and make other bosses as challenging as volcanic!(lornarr, jellyfish come to mind..)
