wanna bet to whether they will delete or “relocate” thread ?

The issue for sword and hammer is that they are not immortal, thus sharing the same grievances with pets in general. They suck at AI and melt instantly in AOEs
I said this in Dulfy’s page, but probly more direct to say it again here. The improvements for the shield and bow are a good start. As for the sword and hammer, they fail to see that the primary reason you dont see them much in play in pve and wvw is that those weapons are melee and they will MELT in 2 second in the sea of AOE and champion’s wrath. I do not see myself using those 2 anytime soon, even after that buff. The hammer is more of annoying than being useful to you and the party more or less because of its third hit in the chain. The launch of the third hit should be changed to KnockDown. The fact that recharge only starts after the weapons dissipate make people think twice about carrying it in battle, that’s way too much down time for what they do (maybe except the powerful shield) and how long they survive. I do like the change to Renew Focus.
We want to let you know that the ability to build your precursor will not be in our upcoming Feature Pack. The way progression and rewards work in Guild Wars 2 have changed quite a bit since we initially talked about that feature, and our main horizontal progression systems are about to get some additional updates in the upcoming feature pack. Because of that, we are looking into several ways to integrate building your precursor into our new updated reward and progression systems we’re working on, which is requiring additional development time and iteration. As always, we’ll share details on this system once it’s far enough along in production we’re ready to discuss it.
That’s a long way to say " NOOOOOO"
Oh so you want it to be THAT way …. Doh ho ho ho ho
(only if they finally added that epic solo quest line & scavenger hunt for the EXACT precursor you want, otherwise forget it b/c then almost No one would get the exact Legendary they actually wanted and then no one would be happy)Didn’t ANet plan to have precursor crafting previously? They really don’t need to. Just make crafted ascended weapons as precursors.
Their current excuse for ditching the promise is that the precursor crafting is not compatible with the way progression and rewards work in Guild Wars 2 . . And crafting of ascended weapon is not?
Precurs are much rarer and more expensive to get than a your typical ascended weapons. Raising their status to ascended won’t affect the price or their drop rate. Prices are driven by demand and rarity.
5 precursors in 50 forges
Congrats on the pres and your luck, but don’t be an big a——hole about it.
Devs will avoid this post like a virus. "Best not to dive into stuff that we screwed up on " . Am I right, Anet?
but if both guns and bows are given to rangers, they will ask themselves “why the eff should I even keep this bow”
I could have sworn Anet has made it clear that this is “working as intended”, never heard of any fixes being mentioned here . Doesn’t matter it’s stupid or not, so long as it’s “intended”, we suck with it. But in any event, I wouldn’t hold my breath for any changes if I were you.
A cheap rip-off of infinite tsukuyomi.
Don’t know any other way to explain this better. You know the feeling when you do. Anet, fix your stuff.
OP, seems like you had a hard time vs. a warrior and come here to try to achieve what you couldn’t 1 vs. 1 from within? like you said, not everyone uses cleansing Ire, and even if does, people might have other goal to not expand them right away for just condition removal.

<.< ……. >.> . Coulda sworn it’s July first today.
Just unfathomable. I don’t want to repeat what everyone has said. Sometimes, I wonder if we live in same dimension. Their logics behind the changes…. I really wish I can do a one-on-one debate with them (restricting myself to use just vowels and still guarantee a win). There’s gotta be something else that get one up every morning other than “what can I do to nerf them further”? Won’t be playing anytime soon. Incidentally, ROS is 3 days away folks.

“Reduced the health of each Assault Knight by 25%.”
Looks like the casuals won.
Now now, don’t be bitter. Understanding is the key. People with jobs and their own lives do have the right to enjoy the game as much as hardcore folks who play most of their days.

Don’t know. Things are getting wacky by day. Maybe this is a pretext for new gemstore product: unlag comsumable works for 1 day, 100 gems each.
I don’t see the point of the OP question though. I never like coffee, but I never ask “why coffee”. People got time and resource, and if they want to pursue a legendary, so be it.
I would go the opposite path: no pet. Back in the GW1 ranger, pet was an option of play style because of its specific advantage and shortcoming. That option opens up for alot more variety of playstyles, where the ranger preferes to be ALONE.
I still cannot fathom why Anet forces players into pet play style and dress it up as the “class mechanic”. We have heard enough complaints about pet and their AI, so I’m not going to repeat them again. If Anet’s excuse for dictating " THOU SHALT NOT UNPET" is that the ranger needs pet to add up the damage, then how about give a damage buff when the Ranger chose to shelf his pet.
I know Anet has been trying to promote the use of non-zerker stuff , i.e. Condition damage and/or Power lately (by nerfing Zerker and change traits to condition damage oriented). For Guardian, all we got is burning for the most part. Given how burning works ( tick per second, duration stack, damage scale with C.Damage), nothing they say would convince me to switch gear.

The more you discuss about Scarlet, the more ms. McCoy will get the idea that her storyline is actually interesting and you will see more of this hated Scarlet.
just trying to keep this alive here.
I love scarlet.
I do honestly think Gift of Exloration should replaced with something else that is i) by no means of less time/efford to achieve, but… ii) more enjoyable than just roaming for days to get it and you don’t have to train a new toon just to get it.
Didn’t they learn the lesson from Teq? In PvE, multi-team coordination don’t mean to exist forever. All the variables: The randomness of classes, player’s skill, afk folk. When people get fed up with it, like Teq, that area will be eventually forsaken.
It’s actually a miracle. They are tinkering around to try to nerf us and this happens which destroy their plan…. as well as our dungeon runs.
Anet, fix it, and just don’t touch anything for the rest of the night alright.
“Gain aegis when you are struck while below the health threshold.” – threshold = 50%
The description seems pretty awesome for an adept minor, no?
Until you dig abit further. This awesomeness comes with rather a huge catch. The aegis lasts for an awesome duration of 3 seconds and with internal cool down of 90s second, quite spammable. Being frugal is not always a virtue.
The Aegis is powerful when it’s timed skillfully, and trash when it just pops randomly. This traits is the latter. At best it will more likely just block a tick of lava font or just one of the hits of 100blades. And 3 second duration? we all know how slow pve mob attack. Why can’t it be 10s, or even just 5s when it will just block another attack soon. I dont understand this stinginess in the way skill designer handing out the numbers. The worst insult is probably the 90 second internval recharge. Basically they are saying: “only once per encounter (and hopefully it will be useful..hopefully), thou shalt not ask for more!”. I understand it will be rather powerful without internal cool down. But this 90s is beyond human commonsense. Its usefulness is already limited by the randomness of your cause to hit 50% health. Why 90s cd? For that functionality, why not 30s, kitten , and.. fine! if you insist that the Guardian is already perfect, why not 60s. The Elem’s armor of earth trait deserves a high CD because it’s a powerful and reliable effect obviously. But a 3 second aegis is not likely a life saver and certainly dont deserve a 90s cd.
I understand it’s in Anet’s perspective that the Guardian currently stand at such a flawless stage that a little twist will enly destroy the balance of the universe ( don’ we all seem to have a hard time remember when was their last input in the Guardian forum?). But as with many other thing not so perfect about the Guardian that players have put time to point out, they should ask themself maybe it’s them (anet).
We got Charr as an angry looking cat race. Why not cute bamboo chewing panda race for asian theme.
might as well playing a necro if conditions is what you want. Elem is nice eye candy and interesting play style but lack abit of reliable fire power.
yah, last time it hits for me was last year when I accidently hit 3 when hitting a Keep’s door.
I can’t help but notice male character (human, not sure about other race) has this undignified and unnecessary hunching body gesture when wielding staff during combat mode. They hunch their back and lean the upper body forward like an old witch having a hard time standing straight. Especially for guardian, all that air of coolness brought to you by the heavy armors is blown away when he hunched and hold on to the staff.
Can they just stand straight?
oh … never thought about that.
I found myself playing skyrim recently. Dont know what to do anymore.
Let my post be the final one. Anet don’t look at this thread anyways.
The 2014 Vision is to try to finish up the 2013 Vision.
The new heal for guard should be i) instant cast like other meditation
ii) base heal to be in the 3k to be reliable without many mobs around.
it probably will be precusor.
Condition damage is not OP. period.
This skill is tailored for pve, and maybe 1 vs. 1 where the other person takes a while to either find you or killing your clone/phans. It’s a good skill, abeit longer recharge and casting time. Pretty nice with signet traits though. potential 3 conditions remove and distortion at use at lower recharge.
Lots of guardians’ complaint today, lol.
I’m going to join others to call out Anet’s suspicious absence of response after the embarrassing Fracture release, and including this one. Even worse, they refused to response to players’ input and criticism. Look at the Guardian Pre 12/10 preview thread, when was the last one you guys get a response from them.
Put myself in their shoes, I would probably be shameful to the kittenight now with all those blunders. But like mom always says, admit errors and say sorry is how to be a man. For a company like Anet, shuttinglthe door and sulking is so not becoming. How about come out and have a chat. No one bites.
Save your breath. They completely ignores all ideas from the prepatch preview. They are hiding in their hole right now after the backlash from the Fracture release. They wouldn’t response to any taunt, begging, imploring. Talk about thick head.
Yeah for this skill to be adequate on just a normal basis, you have to trait all the way to 30 for valor. This is rather inexcusable – one has to be boxed in in a single built set just to get the heal slot to work.
The base heal is $#%#$$BS, no question about that. If you are below 50% and a bunch of degen, and the mobs are scattered, you are done for.
Now, the conditional heal: 20% of damage output in the next 6 seconds.
Now, assume that you want the skill to heal an extra 5k, in that next 6 seconds, you need to deal 25k damage; if 4k, that’s 20k damage in the next 6 second; if 3k that’s 15k damage in the next 6 seconds.
unless you WW a bunch of mobs, with 30 recharge, 1 sec activation, this heal is BS. This skill is as situational as mesmer’s portal. Not suitable for a healing slot.
Even for this skill be functional in that ideal world (lots of mobs around you), GS is mandatory for the most part. Mace, Hammer, scepter = you’re done.
I hope this embarrassing excuse for a skill is an inadvertent design mistake. If not, a checkup appointment should be in order. Anet need to know a difference between a ULTILITY skill and a HEALING skill. One can be situational, the other one has to be adequately effective regardless of what situation one is in.

It needs a dramatic duration reduction in PvE,
Because? Did you have a grudge against some mesmer that refused to port you?
Now now, it’s been quiet. gotta keep up the fire. Keep bashing them (deservingly) to get this topic on top of the forum please. UP.
ruining economy? Ecto has always been in the range of 20-30. Precurors always float round 400-600.
Obviously you’ve never played a light-armor class. Staves need to be improved, swords are perfect as they are. There are only like 3 or 4 good staff skins, but I could find about 50 sword skins that I like. Take a look at the staff options, you’ll see.
Gears = everything. I didn’t exclude staves. Those cited are just for demonstration purpose. Swords are as good as they are? http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rusttooth
