how come the shield #4 is unblock-able on the revenant yet it does not actually do any damage. i think they should add a soft control cc i.e chill,slow or cripple plus a little direct damage on contact with a foe. the mesmer shield does direct damage plus a SLOW. that would not be right not to have the revenant shield have some kind of direct damage on hit.
I would be ok if it’s a blast finisher too. Given the CD, damage makes no difference.

then wouldnt it be a waste of skill slot that are you forced into if you want to go Glint? You will have to agree that a stun is useful across the board while knockback is mostly annoying to pve game play. We have Jade Wind yah, but what if i dont want to go Shiro. A float would be nice too.
Right now Chaotic Release reads : “Consume facet of chaos releasing chaotic winds damaging and knocking back foes”
Can we change the knockback to other CC like stun or float? Knockback usefulness is very situational while usually disrupting in pve content. I certainly don’t want to use this elite while in most pve content since people might get mad for ruining the agros. I don’t see a reason it must be a knockback except for thematic issue. Pretty much once you use the upkeep phase, you are stuck in the -5 upkeeps , not being able to release the skill without getting people all mad at you for sending mobs all over the place

You do realize you will give up alot for that sort of offensive power. Fury is easy to come by from other classes. I never seen a fight without Fury.
Also do not judge the new skills based on existing contents. Who knows , when you actually face the new mobs, you will wish that you shoulda kept quiet about “oh don’t give me skills/traits that are very strong”.

I personally object to projectile on melee attack. It serves no purpose, you are at the enemy anyways. Remember guardian’s sword AA? you get no apparent benefit but get reflected alot.
there should be traits that go:
“remove a condition when using a stance” or
“remove a condition if energy fall below a threshold” or
“remove X conditions if energy reaches zero” or
“attack that cost energy has X chance to remove a condition” with ICD <10s
Looking at the traits/skills at this point, I guess unless you are with Jalis or Staff with Centaur, or to a limited extend Mallyx through resistance, you are pretty much done when encountering persistent conditions? Even with Jalis, it’s iffy if you really want to touch the heal skill just to remove conditions. Do we have to sacrifice a sigil slot or constantly switch legends through the trait just to remove conditions.
Looks like we got pools of energy sinks, from weapons skills which cost a bunch ( wtf with the cooldown too? laughs a Thief), from upkeeps, from heals, from elites.
How about something like " restore X energy when hit with a crit" or “restores X energy every Y seconds”. At this rate, we’ll see a bunch of AA Revs.
I think it count by seconds. The description said stun protection is 4 second. So if say a mesmer put one CC on you that lasts 2 second, you will still be ok. Then if he put another 2+ second stun on you, the protection wears off. My guess.

Trait lines seems to be dedicated to each legend, that’s where the downfall of it: lack of mutual synergy. What more, Rev will pick a legend based on situation, thus the whole trait line you picked for a particular legend will be rendered useless for the most part when you have to switch to someone else. In order words, at any given moment, Revs will not benefit of all 3 trait lines like other class could be able to.
ICD of certain traits are way too high for the effects.
Traps need CDR in trait.
1 = damage build up is too slow. DPS is currently below that of hammer I would say.
2 = why is it even there? effect and damage is lackluster, really not much of application. really need a rework. I always forgot to use S2.
3 = fun , but lock you for a while, it should need like a 0.5-0.75 evade frame.
4 = no comments.
5 = not always work and re-positioning of mob is sort of unpredictable abit.
The elems’ new skill effects look interesting so far. But i will need to see the CDs, damage sheet to be convinced on that. Core spec guardians will still be ok. Though admittedly I’m still and will ever be angry at the “elite” specialization the Guardian is graced with: plain, out of theme, lacking interwork, and ….traps????

Let elem have weapon swap, but only possibly during out of combat. It retains their limitation of one weapon set while giving QOL improvement. Weapon swap out of combat is currently already achievable via inventory, just very tedious. I don’t see how it break the game if allowing player to achieve the very same thing with just a click of button.

Given the different desirability among the precusors and the unpredictable nature of drops, i.e. the horror of RNG God’s blessing on you being a trident precusor, which pave ways for market manipulators, I thought it would be interesting to grant each account ONE TIME exchange of one precusor for another via the mystic forge along with some reasonable recipe (ecto + dungeon gift associated with the legendary + some ascended mats). I think this will help easing out abit the gap in values between the legendary while still preserving some of their individual values due to the account limit. This exchange should apply for legendary too.

Obviously we have someone here hate being countered, and don’t like to be bothered moving from his shooting spot or learn to adapt with environment. I don’t see melees complaining how they had to to go through tons of counter measures like blocks, cripple, chill, pushback, blind, retaliation etc… all of which are easily applicable to a melee attacker compared to someone with 1500 range. If there were such a thing as " the top of the food chain", you have to skill your way to it, not campaigning to eliminate natural enemies. While it’s true the game lacks some indications to distinguish friends or foes’ skills, but that’s merely oversight issue Anet should deal with specifically, and that alone shouldn’t amount to elimination of one of game’s whole mechanics. Let’s spend our time discuss with other outstanding issues instead of things like these threads that lead to nowhere.

depends. It’s better for people with more focus builds because they get more traits for a particular subject, i.e. shouts, shatter etc.. Those previously had their trait scattered over more than 3 branches are sorta screwed.
yah, the OP confirmedly mains ranger and he thinks he’s entitled to just stand in one spot and powpow away people from 1500 range. Hey OP, while you are it, why don’t you also ask to double the range, because you know 1500 is also unfairly short and people with gap-closer can get to you easily while you stand still.

Depends on the situation…. But if you ask which one should be on the bar more often, I would go for retreat: swiftness’s better uptime, Group’s blocks. And if you used shouts’ runes and pure of voice, i would say it’s arguably a better condition removal for casual use. Save yourselves is better with superheavy conditions situation. I would swap to save yourselves for things that need to be spiked down quick, like a dungeon boss. If you go for shouts anyways, why not both.
