it means THEY got me for " neg criticism in clever disguise".
Know that it has been fun and I love ya all.

Glint’s active heal can counter a good junk of condibombs, also the regen passive helps abit with degen condis, but yes, the option to counter condi is limited: Jalis heal, legend switch trait, staff/Vet, that’s it. Unless you will sacrifice a sigil slot for the condi removal sigil. I wish protection also cut down incoming condi damage. On the bright side, especially when you run Glint, Revenant has a good pool of health-gaining skills that can be used to counter regen condi. Against crippling effects, well….. i suppose that’s the hardest parts of our new job as a rev.

timewise, yes. But not that bad. Just give it a day or two, i guarantee you that you will see heralds running around in packs…….. led by me.
Oh F here we go again. Don’t you hate threads like this? “OP” "OP and “OP”. what defines “overpower”? people use the term so loosely these days. If anything good about a particular class but their own class do not possess, it’s automatically OP. We got threads like war is OP, guard is OP, Nec condi is OP, thief burst/veil is OP etc…. the whole concept lost the meaning don’t you think? who is it that is OP , make up your mind.
I actually do question the wisdom behind the greatword AA range for damage. Since it requires you to stay further away for max damage, but then the mirror blades’ effect surely conflicts in interest because it requires you to be much closer to the target. Also, don’t you think that they got the order backward for the AA? shoulnd’t a range class get rewarded with greater damage output by putting themselves in greater risk in close quarter?

I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who just don’t pay attention. “Unique” means “one of a kind”. If people have questions about what that means, logic dictates finding out before buying.
To the original poster, I suggest just sucking it up. You made a mistake, and that mistake was preventable. Learn from it and grow.
Or don’t. Whatever. I’m not your parole officer. -Sid
You don’t feel any empathy for OP, yet decided to grace us with this “wisdom”; so OP made a mistake, no point in kicking OP when they’re down. It’s pretty bad wisdom too, since support has been known to rectify this.
If you’re going to play semantics, than “unique” would imply you couldn’t buy a second one. Having a duplicate isn’t very unique.
Yes, yes, and instead of simply shaking your head and moving on, you did the same thing I did. Does that make us twinsies now?
Had the original poster just manned up and accepted they made an avoidable mistake, there would have been nothing upon which to comment.
Freedom of speech is a two-way street. If the original poster is free to complain, I am free to respond to it. Just as you were to me. The world continues to go ’round. -Sid
(Ever consider the reason you can buy more than one unique item is because people have more than one character? Just curious.)
Jeez, we got a sour one here. Invoking freedom of speech, aint we. No, no one said you going to jail for kicking people who are down. Your heroic action, as it is, is still ok as far as forum rules are concerned. We merely frown on you, that is also our freedom, and you are still free to post your sour grapes without being banned or going to jail, but it is just that the respect from readers are not there. It’s kinda pointless when you put all the time to write something just to be not taken seriously, don’t you think?. That’s all. Like you said, the world continues to go’round. Go and post away.
I don’t mind going through the map again, but the Hearts gotta go. They are the very definition of grinding, serves no purposes but repetitive and tedious tasks, especially some of them gives less than 5% progress for each time you complete one of the tasks.
I have been at the Anet headquarter once during one of their happy hours, no sport game on TV, everyone drinking and mesmerizedly watching a progress bar loading. And i ate all their wings and snacks.
Jokes aside, is it too much to ask a single progress bar when you want to craft a full stack of things. For those of you who are readying the “oh but other MMO are much slower”, well , i don’t care and other MMOs and it’s their business. This is GW2 and we only talk about GW2. Issues don’t go away just because other games’ issues are worse.
(edited by quaniesan.8497)
which class do you play, op? I’m gona go there and post a corresponding thread with the same title.
I do also think the delay already justify the power of LB2, no need for the root. But as things are, don’t hold your breath.
Is it a good idea to waive the listing fee until the item is either sold or when the player remove it from TP? Suppose you got something that can be sold for 1k gold, but darn now you gotta wait till you find that 150g just to list it. I understand listing fee acts like a quasi gold-sink, but postponing it won’t make any dent on that purpose, will it? either way the player will have to pay that amount, and moving that charge to the end of the transaction makes it easier to sell.
I saw somewhere that people talking about saving champ bags for HoT so that you can get the new stuff/mats on the get-go, also chance to get new skins the moment it launches. Anyone know if they actually update the loot tables for the old champ bags?
One concern i have for this is that Anet talked about nerfing salvaging, so maybe it was probably better off salvaging most things from old champ bags before the nerf hammer comes?
what? no more toy-like designs for legendary weapons? I guess three years did grow someone up.
Good, if he does, we get to punch him for stealing all the glory when we had to do all the work. Remember how exciting it was to get to smash Rurik?
existing precursors will still drop from mobs, I assume so. The counter-argument is why buy when you can practically create one unless you are sitting on a pile of gold, and that is a counter-weight that would drive down the cost. Plus, when people agree to go through the mystic forge gamble, they must really want that precusor for themselves and not for trading on TP because there is no promise of sure profit. It’s tricky business to predict since HoT comes with so many economic variable. The TP precusor price will probably converge at the cost of the effort of making one, whatever that might be. If you’re making one of the cheaper legendary, like shield, focus, mace, i guess it doesn’t make any difference.

This is becoming a sad parody. At least we have our blocks…. i guess
So as others. But yah, i know, we still do, for now.
The “op” part has already been fixed. And in addition, the base damage has been reduced by 40%. And a note for Mr. OP, please use the word “overpower” abit more careful.
This was a funny video with entertainement purpose. I know it has been fixed.
Sorry if you can’t get that.
Maybe you should explain yourself better. It’s a basic skill.
The “op” part has already been fixed. And in addition, the intended base damage has been reduced by 40%. And a note for Mr. OP, please use the word “overpower” abit more careful.
Honestly, there are folks out there who come along and gloat on how certain things are so niceeee just to be the first one to complain the nerf hammer comes.

Given that the drones’ functionality being quite competitive, and now that their CD starts the moment they are summoned, isn’t it time our spirit weapons should get the same treatment? Put aside the fact our spirit weapons are quite mediocre or situational (shield) or even somewhat disruptive (hammer), if anet don’t have any plan to up the game on the effect, at least the spirit weapons should have better up time. I once grouped with spirit weapon guardian in CoF, i couldn’t see the extend of effectiveness because he got kicked after the hammer scatters those scorpions all over the place in p2.
They already made up their mind, we can’t change it in such a short time frame. Now, the important question is which is better to earn cash: labyrinth or waste =|
Well, whining or not, the issue is still there, isnt it? You can’t just say there is no merits for discussion at all just because the statement has negativity all over it.
Interesting, I could have sworn there was a derv post addressing why the projectile speed being painfully slow, in which he justifies by saying the AA got the highest DPS in the game (higher attack speed?), albeit he did not give any statistic to back that claim. Not that I agree.
See what I mean? toxic. Only this much and we got all the sarcasm and sanctimonious statements from the pvp “cool” guys. “look at me, look at me, you pve peasants” attitude. Imagine the degree of malaise whispers from these people when you own them in a match.
Anyhow, thanks for pointing out its tradable on TP, I thought it was just tradable at merchant for gold. Though it is kinda … not right that “glory” can be bought with gold. Personally i will probably earn it rather buying though. Wonder if rewards will be retroactive.
(edited by quaniesan.8497)
Maybe I read it wrong, but I do remember that in Hot you can “unlock” more dailies (permanent?).
Play how you want? maybe, but not if you want a legendary. Now that PvP is planned as being mandatory if you want the new generation of legs, time to toughen our skin for that toxic environment of pvp. How I miss the good old time in Aspendwood. If you have objection to this requirement, as I do, nip it in the bud. Here’s a scissors.
He just admitted to me he couldn’t see that trueshot coming and got owned. Just give him a break, you can’t expect much from a blind rat, can you? anyhow, I whipped him good, just move on.
People miss the point
Mighty Blow is a melee skill
True shot is a ranged skill
When the ranged skills deal more dmg than melee you know there’s something fishy balance-wise.
Mighty blow is blast finisher and a gap closer, whereas the other one roots one down and have high delay. These are the points so obvious that are impossible to miss. You know there’s something fishy when people deliberately ignore these. Either brain damage or a just a sore-behind from the BETA , who got owned by a DH.
If certain someone in the derv team is wishing this topic will be quickly buried away by new threads, save your breath. I’ll push it up whenever it’s no longer in the front page.
looks like some people got owned by an obvious true shot and come here to undermine it from within. Numbers are just numbers. Scepter supposedly got the highest dps, but how we laugh.
it’s sarcasm. But yes, skills are supposed to hit, especially when the target is right in front of you and not moving.
Nope, either that or Retreat. Or GS jump, or targeted teleports.
My understanding is that our speed is/was capped at 33% regardless , even when you have superspeed effect which should have increased it to 100%. For a while, superspeed has been nothing more than swiftness (33%).
Did they ever fixed that? since the new skills/traits have to do with superspeed quite abit. If they haven’t fixed that, super speed is just super false advertisement.
(edited by quaniesan.8497)
Quite a bit of time in hands, ain’t we.? If this is OOC, it’s hardly a gamebreaking abuse. Convenient to get from point A to point B at best. But it’s not so convenient, all that hassle to deal with dropdown menu and select therefrom, i would rather just wait for enegy to recharge. And you know what? I know I won’t “abuse” this feature, because there is such a thing as perma swiftness in Herald, abit less speed but hassle free when ooc.
Right now it gives you 15% increase Crit Chance for one handed weapon and 20% CDR for sword.
May I suggest to trade that 20% CDR for sword for " Third strike in sword chain are now melee and actually… hits your target".
(edited by quaniesan.8497)
Well, it has to do with the Rev’s color scheme: dark red. A guardian skill would be visible since it’s bright blue. I do agree, regardless. I could not tell if my third strike of sword AA hits because the animation and visual effects are barely noticeable.
Usually, when people say “I’m the only sane one in the crazy world”, likely you just miss things the majority saw, you know, the obvious. You keep comparing “ours” against “theirs” to draw conclusions. No, learn to also compare “ours” against “ours”, and learn to make analysis of how new skills/things blend with existing things. DH are one of the better elite classes? given you admitted you didn’t spend much time with other classes, I suggest you hold all these texts before you spend as much time with other classes. Given you did not even rebut any particular criticism against the DH, which render you to ask “what’s the fuss about”, maybe you should have read what the fuss are first.
I agree the tablet’s management seem like much of a chore and take your attention away from combat. The strength of the tablet is also its weakness, you can support people remotely but relocating the tablet is tedious. I’m not quite sure how we can get some way around that to be honest.
One thing seems to bug people the most is when the tablet is not summoned, its skills are grayed out, and it affect reaction time when the situation calls for the specific skill.
I would suggest that :
1) the tablet skills can be activated when the tablet is not summoned, and when activated it summon the tablet right away without having go through the healing slot.
2) decrease maintenance cost for the tablet’s bubble please?
@OP, firstly, i don’t like you, at the get go. Two, your writeup sounds just like Donald Trump’s speech – lots of “it’s good, it’s great, it’s interesting”, but lacks any intellects behind it. Any benefits you list are nothing exclusive, +X% damage, applying condition (Y), ok….. very novel. Good for you that you enjoy it, I understand different people have different standards. But just because “some” of us enjoy it, does not mean that it’s problem-free or needs improvement/rework.
Well because the DH traits are all over the place and lack mutual, if any, meaningful syncs. For other classes, especially engi, you could see the new spec traits blend together really well with other trait line. Our DH line kinda stick out like an odd ball and virtually has little to do with existing lines, and if anything , just the universal VOJ. If you want to main bow, DH is your main line and you would have to pick whichever of the other that hopefully go well with it. But if you are to main melee, DH lacks the reasons to be considered over our other trait lines. So, it’s a one-way relationship, whereas the scrapper trait line actually empowers the other traitlines even if you don’t use the hammer.
doesn’t work on walls and some structures either – error message: no line of sight or something like that.
(1) Longbow does feel like need a 20% CDR trait.
(2) Hunter’s ward: Cooldown is way up there. Too long. The wards are only good for capturing environmental mobs. I so far have not been able to capture an average player – most of the time they simply walked out (while whistling) or got stability or protection on them (therefore they dont even care).
(3) Longbow AA – increase radius for bouncing please. The arrow virtually don’t even bounce unless you shoot into a zerg.
(4) Deflecting shot – good in theory, but in pratice not so much. With so many ways to mitigate missile, we don’t feel like the hassle to time it right. Most of walls/bubble blocks missile for an extended of time, the arrow only does so very very briefly, thus does not give players incentive to learn the needed reflex. Most of the time I use it is for the blind.
(5) Bow 2 – the root is unnecessary. The delay itself already justify the power of the skill.
(6) Traps, well, so far i have only success with scratching a charging zerg and environmental mobs that accidently walk in there. Test of faith need damage all inside upon trigger . I havent seen a reason to use the spinning blade, the slot is always competed by something better. Even when someone manage to trigger either of Test of Fath or the spinning blade trap, sometime i scratched my head: did I achieve anything ?. Let them inflict some vulnerability or cripple perhaps?
(edited by quaniesan.8497)
Traps and longbow result in clunky game play. Longbow trait explicitly require you to be rather away from front line for good damage, and unless you intended that traps are meant for back line…. .. then it’s quite abit of exercise for the DH. Solution: change the name “trap” to something else so that you are more inclined to make it range. After all, if you demanded logic (i.e. how one can set a trap from far away), then I get to ask you what/where are the materials for these light-based mechanisms.
it’s not often that players asking for a nerf, but definitely please nerf the sword wave projectiles into melee range slashes that actually …, you know, hit.
I don’t know how to say it better. Sword chain #3 miss half the time. Can you believe it misses the Jogmag’s claw ice spikes? Make swordAA#3 from projectile to slashes. We don’t need it to be projectile! we dont need the range to be 600, we just need it to actually hit, that’s all. A simple and ordinary wish.
I gotta admit, shield 5 is better now, I can actually protect people with it in wvw, since duration bug is fixed and i can move the shield to where it should be.
if the dwarven road thingy also gives pulsed swiftness, it would be golden. Right, roy? after all, the point of building a road is to make your journey a little easier, no harm in a little swiftness on a magical road.
you know what’s next? fixing the goda$$#%$ sword AA#3 so that it actually hits.
i think it just shows a lack of real cohesion in the dh. some of the other specs just seem like their traits and skills just meld together real well, but the dh is just a bunch of random things stuck together
couldn’t have said it better myself.
Guard is still amazing.
At least the base specs, yes. Not sword/shield though, even more so bow/traps.
As a side note: “still amazing” and “someone else is even more amazing” are two different things. But ya, we guards should pride ourselves as the only people will still play (or HAVE TO play ) our core specs to retain our effective level LoL.
just because other classes can spec to fill a role that one does doesn’t make your class less useful. its all about team work.
It makes the class less useful when the other class does it significantly better.
So what, doesnt mean you cant top it off with your support.
That is to assume you haven’t been kicked yet.
