it means THEY got me for " neg criticism in clever disguise".
Know that it has been fun and I love ya all.
well well, projectile protection, our lunch main course, are now shared. I don’t mind that, personally. But, look at Scrapper, Druid, and Rev, lol, even in my wildest fantasy could I ever see a group that posts " LF bow guardian , bring your traps!!!"
doesnt matter how many times it can hit or how impressive the numbers are, it’s about whether it can actually hit at all, which it doesn’t most of the time. Just make sword 3 slashes, i don’t see a point in being projectiles when you are at already next to the target.

Let say we no longer call it traps, but call it “mark” or “well”, since they are basically AOE effects, abeit with (a trigger just like marks) , would we be more incline to accept more drastic changes? Looking at these discussion, looks like people are hung up on the namesake “trap” and thus resisting changes that they deemed so not trap-like and I think that mindset is regrettable.
Traps generally do not have smooth interaction with a ranged class and we all know why. Just that unfortunately the trait for it lies in DH, which one would pick if he/she goes for longbow, otherwise there are better trait lines for the melee option. Traps are not a new concept, ranger and thief has it, but when was the last time you saw them being used? Only marks, i,e. ranged traps, get to have use because they are ranged. If Karl are gonna try to sell us his “traps”, then traps need some rework. Also, ask yourself this: if you, the guardians themselves, have trouble accepting traps, how do you expect a group to accept a bow/trap guardian in their group where they probably expect something we probably can be better at (like what the base spec currently offer). If they need range and AOE, i could name another class that can do better than DH in both. “But we have buffs and shouts” you might say, then remember the range nerf for group buff down to 600, and with DH line we do best when position ourselves more than 600 range unit. Get ready for some serious jog, cuz we are going to do that alot, pingpong-ing back and forth between frontline and backline. DH and its trait line is the very definition of the term oxymoron itself. Some sort of rework would be appreciated.

Not to derail the discussion, but honestly, when i think of offhand, axe comes to mind more than sword. But yah, i’d go for sword if i’m really into the dual-sword theme thing or needs sword 5 for a particular reason, otherwise axe/shield probly top choices.
of course, the natural enemy is always OP.
All 5 shouts together, each can cleanse up to 2 condi with rune and trait. Maybe switch one shout out for Purity, but that’s just overkill.
cool, I thought that would make the most sense. Thanks.
Description reads: (…) Using a shield skill will increase boon duration.
I’m not quite sure what it means. The only shield skill with a boon is Shield 4. Does it mean that it will only affect shield 4 skill?
Or does the description mean, increase all boons duration by 2 seconds when equipping a shield?
Or does it mean, after using a shield skill, your all your existing boons duration are increased by 2 second.
Would you consider adding 3 sec of resistance for the legend switch trait?
I think Shield 5 is fine as it is. Shield 4 though, i think the duration of protection is way too short to be of any meaningful purpose. I would trade that away for a blast finisher. Would you consider this trade-off?
Would be nice, wouldnt it?. I seriously doubt it will come to pass though, given our legendary weapons not having that feature.
About the OP, I already kicked his behind badly in the previous post. lets just move on to a different issue and pay no further attention to troll threads like these. Thread closed.
We tried 1001 threads like these over the years. I appreciate the spirit behind this, but really, i lost faith at this point. Seems like a big waste of time and effort giving them suggestions. Karl solve every problem with “how about some cooldown reduction”, even for auto attacks.
Most of the threads here are “Gimme more cool things”
And their daddy Roy is like “Sure darling, you want anything else?”Yeah, as a thief/ranger I’m jelly.
It’s just worrying that the fate of a professions depends on one person. If he’s passionate about it, then it’s great, if not (and not even communicating) – classes get abandoned. Shouldn’t profession balance be a collective effort of many devs, so they aren’t developed in vacuum?
Does it occur to you that your “daddy” has disability in balancing and listening to players instead? Just what kind of human being are you to vent your own frustration by mocking and try to drag others down to your level so that you feel better? Shouldn’t your time being more well-spent on having conversation with your derv team? “oh but they don’t listen” you might say. Well, then it’s your d—ed problem, not ours, why going to another class forum and mocking constructive talks of others when you don’t get the same bi-lateral talk. Scram this instance, sit in that corner and reflect on your own actions before I allow you to talk!

Anet has a thing with hunch-backs, don’t you know. Regardless of races. Ever seen a human with a staff? Isn’t one of the staff function is to aid your posture’s stability? But no, humans hunch when they weld a staff, or even with a greatsword , for godsake.
Ventari is a mandatory secondary swap for me personally in at least most pve and wvw, for at least the reason this is where the most reliable condi removal lies, not to mention bubble.
at least not master of condition removal trade.
Even if it is not intended to be a “test”, I’m sure they have gathered various info , at least, players reaction to such degree of contents, responded players population, response to the offered rewards. Therefore, it is still a test, regardless of intention.
It’s funny all of his examples are fantasy situation, for example: they have no choice to activate my traps in some way or else. Give us humans some credits, we are not environmental mobs. Traps have been around, better ones, but you dont see them being used around do you. What make you think “oh this is godsent”? And longbow is great? well, during BWE, the only time that longbow ever hit me is when my allergy was acting up. Sound like these “tests” were done with test golems. Case closed.
@OP, you should really play the warrior before saying all these things.
DH is like a filler, i.e. “well, we gave you something” . Definitely will try Rev, and depends on how it goes, all the legendary will go to him.
I don’t ask for anything crazy for condi control in Rev, just do think it needs to be tuned up just a notch. I’d be well settled with removing 2 condi with legend swap. Given how crazy condi are flying around these days, other classes have enough time window to down a Rev even if he can remove 2 condis upon legend switch. Keep in mind that, by forcing a Rev to switch from a desired legend just to remove condi, it also forcing him to give up whatever chess moves he planned ahead for the existing legend. So it’s more than just condi removal. I would love shiro to have a weak condi removal as well, but even that will probably not in the horizon, but I’d definitely want to push for 2 condi removal upon legend switch.
Much to your dismay, Revenant’s do need a weakness.
I do agree each class needs to have a counterplay. Don’t you think that it also doesn’t have to be he should be virtually helpless against it though. Conditions are no longer like they were when the game first launched, they are now more prevalent, easily reapplied (in matter of seconds). Especially in PvP when virtually every classes do condi now, it means that non-Mallyx will be weak against everyone. I do think condi removal on legend swap should be increased to one, each legend should have at least one way to remove condition, be it a weaker one than other classes.
well if anything, i feel it kind of annoying that the tablet goes away when we switch legend which can happen often during combat. But then again, we can’t control it if it still stick around. So it’s kind of an impasse of a hassle.
I noticed a couple pets here that play themselve as the defender of anets. The issues presented here are indisputable and deserve attention. The issues themselves don’t make people frustrated, it’s the Anet’s suspicious silence over it. So what people are supposed to do? obviously to continue pressure them with it. And these pests, i mean, pets come along and pratically go " whatever Anet give us, it must be good, shut up and stop demand improvement". You know who you are. How are we supposed to improve the class with this sort of gullible obedience mentality these guys are promoting.
Thank you for your attention.
Learn to play.
“selfish nature”. If a group want a selfish bow member, it’s called a ranger. Even a ranger wouldn’t be that selfish with their spirits/spoters while offering high spike range damage. Who want a high defense class hiding behind (the irony) with mediocre damage and offer nothing more than a ranger to worth being in a group. “Well, it’s for solo”, you might say. Well, ever heard of GS and scepter/focus?. And i doubt DH even good for soloing more than a GS guardian. Longbow offer nothing more than a scepter already had. Deflecting shot is a joke, most of us are not Robinhood. By the time you manage to pull a Deflecting shot, you probly soak more than half of the Rapid fire channel already. The CC might be for WvW, since pve mob barely move anyways. Even in WvW, Zergs are soaked in stability. So…i think one probly better off with non-“elite” specialization build.
It cancel itself if someone stand next to wall or goes invis.. I hope that stuff will get fixed.
I don’t think it’s intended for tracking. About the wall block, if that’s true, I think it might be because the game calculates your next position for the next hit, then check to see if it is valid. The wall probably causes that check to fail , and the game probably does not recalculate again for a proper position so it cancel out of … laziness.
Each hit is independent of the previous hit and doesn’t need the previous hit to connect in order to initiate. Not sure why there is impression that the next hit requires the previous one to actually successfully hit someone. Just try 2 mesmers do sword 2 at each other and see if they both stop mid-skill just because they all fail to hit one another.
they will bump into each other while in the Mist in a terrible headbutt and both died horribly without the down state.
utility looks like another set of weapon skills, but i’m not complaining.
Looks awesome. It’s just getting better and better . Truely a slap in the face for the DH derv team.
Sarutobi sensei!
We have tons of these threads with suggestions. But they paid no mind. They only responds to cute threads like “we need better sound effect” or “thanks so much for …” or “we’ll update your stickies”, and completely ignoring threads that point out their screw up in bugs, design flaws. While i appreciate people take time to write these walls of text, given how engaging the guardian’s derv are, i would say lets save our time until they got a different derv team.
oh my, so now there’s folks complaining about “speed buff everywhere”. Everything are complainable these days.
I dont see any “power creep”. It’s an imaginary paranoia at best. For the increased speed, the person at issue has to sacrifice a trait or skill slot for it, limited him from something he could have had in exchange for abit more mobility in combat. It’s a tradeoff. Speed outside of combat is nothing more than convenience, nothing else worth losing hair about.
Sorry man, wish I could help. Only the dervs and God know what’s going on.
The youtube vid about the strafe is a bigger proof of their most apparent screwup, yet they don’t even spare a word about it. Have you seen Rev and War forums? their derv are practically on the call to address issue. Here this guy (you know how HE is) silently skim through the forum with that smirk skipping all criticism and only respond to cute ones like “we need better sound effect”.
So, I give an F- on any category, except “irresponsibility”, that’s an A+.
New dervs please.
Truely is. DH is nothing more than filler, i.e. "oh, here, you got a elite spec too ". Better off with greatsword and scepter.
shame on dragonhunter
Is this a joke?
Shhh, dont criticize Guardian’s dervs, you are gona get infracted.
Why do I feel like a lot of posts have been deleted out of here?
.
They don’t take criticism very well and easily get personal. If something that hits the bullseyes, it’s best not to let alot of people see it. This is a deserted forum from the derv perspective. If they got the guts to say “LB skills were generally well-received” despite waves of protests, you know they are the type of people who remove opposition posts.
Duration is something I can play with, but there are problems which can happen because of it. For example if it was 30 second duration it means it would always be most effective to pre-cast them before a fight which is something I’m not sure I want. I’ll think about it though.
Since Shiro has many means to increase dps, I’m not sure if it is really necessary to give our healing skill a dps aspect through siphon. I would rather get rid of the damage part and buff the heal in exchange. would you considering adding condi removal aspect to the heal, as Shiro has no access to such? Say, each dagger has X chance to remove a condi?
I would say remove the limit of siphon numbers with a shorter duration.
Hey everyone, here is a list of the Berserk skills and traits from the Points of Interest livestream. I will be adding more text from the livestream in abit as well after a second listen.

Enjoy!
cool, thanks. that’s fast.
It looks interesting enough to consider dusting off my war mule. Quite a slap in the face for the guardian spec team I would say.
I think they reduced the interval down to 0.5s, if i’m not mistaken. One benefit of this skills that not alot of people pay attention to is that you can use it abit before battle since the dagger sticks around for a while. The heals can patch up some damage you might get during the initial rush, and by the time you need it again, it should be fully recharged at that time. But yah, it could be better. maybe remove condition per dagger, since Shiro has absolutely no way to remove conditions.
I think this bring new dimension for sword usage. Not complaining. If its’ might and power specs, we got plenty, dont we. There is no need for another power-spec trait line that serves nothing but distraction. Though there could be a more fitting name, that I agree.
