Considering how the raids turned out, I’m sure those buckets are filled with dev tears. How ironic.
Ahahah. This 100%. Ppl already 5 man vale. Faceroll contest is faceroll.
Yes one of the best teams in the game can 5 man the easiest boss in the raid using a trick that was most likely unintended. Look show me you 5 manning it and then maybe I’d agree it’s completely faceroll.

Considering raids turned out to be the best thing anet has ever added to PvE? Yeah I’m sure they’re just bawling their eyes out.
They’re not as unpopular as something like thieves
Thieves are better than guardians for any of the bosses in the raids, guardian is the least useful class by far.
PREFACE:
When raids came out my guild was excited and willing to try it. We spent the first week bashing our face against the Vale Guardian wall before we finally beat him about 10 days after the raid came out. For this first week we had about 20 out of our 30 regulars give the raid dungeons a try, and only 15 kept going at it after the first few days.Against Gorseval, we had about 14 try it out of 30 and only 7 or so who kept trying it. We’ve never beat it together. By now only 5-6 are willing to give it a go. We continuously need to augment with pugs. As a guild we have not even tried Sabetha. (except for the hardcore raiders).
I expect that the next raid wings will bring more apathy from the majority of my guild unless there is a significant change. They (mostly) have the skill to do the mechanics (with some survival gear/traits), but because of the DPS check they can’t beat gorseval and most have a very hard time with the Vale Guardian.
Yes, I am aware that Raids are tough as hell and are meant to be tough. However, I thought ANet wanted to do away with the berserker meta? It seems that is what the Raids are enforcing. Thieves are 99% pushed away because anything they can do Rev’s/wars can do better.
SUBSTANCE:
I recommend breaking the reward system into tiers or a sort. For those who can down the boss within X time limit, they earn the Gold reward (tokens + potential exclusive loot), X time they earn silver with just tokens, or X time with bronze with tokens.Reward players for being able to beat the boss, regardless of using “meta” builds, give them that source of pride. On that note, make the silver and gold rewards significantly better so people have something worth fighting for.
Perhaps rewards for killing bosses in a certain order?
I have to agree, the dps check (even on gorseval) is not hard to meet, the problem is when the mechanics slow down the dps of individuals because they fail to react properly or they fail to correctly follow their rotations. I suggest to keep practicing or finding the members of your group having trouble and help them learn to get better.
Edit: Also having one thief will NOT stop you from being able to kill gorseval. A thief is fine. Just don’t bring a guard
Actually guardians are quite pointless for the protection as well since revenants can keep up permanent protection for the entire group.
However, for a rev to do that, he will give up ALOT of party dps, a guard however dont. So all in all, it is better to bring a guard for it (unless you use a mesmer or necro or ele to do this naturally).
All in all, guard is fairly so so for the first 2 raid bosses. So there is not really a reason to bring one, however, you can bring one and it will not b a problem.
No, it’s still pointless to bring a guardian because you only need protection for the last 25% of the boss, and sabetha is not at all a dps check, so the revs can give up that dps easily for just that part. Also an ele can keep up perma protection as well.
Raids a not casual friendly.
Having said that, you can still PUG them if you so desire.
To pug raids you are still going to need the proper gear and the proper build to get invited into one, as pugs would usually require you to link your gear and raid items to prove that you have killed particular bosses before. That is going to be hard for you especially if you are not experienced.
And to top it off you’re playing a guardian, which is useless except for one of the bosses, where groups usually need a dragon hunter with hammer for permanent group protection aoe.
-No pugs are going to be willing to take you
-No raiding guilds are going to take youBottom line, you will not succeed in raids as you are right now. You will need to change classes or find yourself a noobie raiding guild to join, as established PVE guilds already have their rosters optimized and stuff.
Actually guardians are quite pointless for the protection as well since revenants can keep up permanent protection for the entire group.
The eternal achievement for sabetha sometimes doesn’t work (I had to kill her twice without anyone dieing)
You’ll need to be level 80 to do them.
There’s been known bugs with the dungeon master title since HoT release.
Finally someone talks some sense, thank you.
My god ! You guys go from topic to topic to shut every complaint up :

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/members/TheFrighteningFrenchFry-3275/showpostsAre you Anet developpers? Do you do that because you can’t make causual player shut up as developpers so you do it as users?
Is it your job to criticize valid complains made by casual players who just want to have a good time?
Can the players who are NOT casual have ONE thing that we like to do? Is that so much to ask for? When I hear “casual” players complaining about not liking the raids, all I hear is “WHY DOESNT THIS GAME CATER ONLY TO ME” You are beyond selfish.
Can the hardcore players not have ONE thing in the game that we enjoy? Nothing is preventing casual players from completing raids, if one person can do them, anyone can.
It was indeed lowered from 105 to 100
Hello,
at the moment I have a Reaper I main and I would like to make a Condi alt. I am deciding between Ranger and Engineer. Engineer seems to be condi king, but there is a lot of complexity involved from what I saw/read and I am not sure I would be good with it being just an alt. I have read that rangers are quite good condi too but less complex, is that true? While I don’t see myself taking it to raids soon, it is a target for the future.
Thanks
Condi warrior is also very good right now.
From my understanding druid is much better than tempest (but tempest is still viable) and ventari revenant is basically no help at all.
A healer is pretty much required for the bosses in the raids, but even a druid in berserker gear can be enough (most people take zealots though)
My group actually had the thief successfully tank the boss, thief is also a great boonstripper.
but I’m already looking at using a bit of dire for the reason stated in the OP
Please, no toughness gear you will get aggro, unless you want to get almost 100% aggro uptime and you have 100% sure you will dodge/survive almost everything, or you will just keep dieing and make your teammates life harder.
There is no proof toughness has anything to do with aggro.
Actually most bosses are definitely made to aggro on the player with the most toughess, and with my understanding this is true for ALL bosses in the upcoming raids.
Again, I haven’t found any evidence that that is true for current content. People have found the opposite is true sometimes, and even the wiki says it is player speculation based on other MMOs. It may be true for raids, but won’t there likely be someone else with more toughness than me (will need to see how the raid meta works out)? I’m not even in full dire. A heavy barely needs any toughness to match my level of armor.
Again, is it absolutely true for most bosses, lupicus will ALWAYS favor the player with the most toughness. Some bosses have different ways though, such as mai trin targetting the farthest player from her, etc.
Everything I’ve read on lupi says he favors either glassy characters, high dps, or it’s random. It’s been awhile though, so maybe that’s changed? If you can provide any solid evidence that toughness is the biggest deciding factor, I will gladly accept it. Either way, my question was more about if the lost power/precision would make much of a difference. With good timing, I can handle aggro.
I’m not sure how much of a difference the lost power/prec will have, but since you can dodge/otherwise mitigate damage from whatever aggro you have I’m not sure the toughness is worth itfor current pve (dungeons, fractals, etc), but I don’t know the details of the raid.

Thief condi dps will certainly be lower than ranger or engi, but idk the exact numbers. From my understanding vipers gear is the best condi gear atm with sinister trinkets, and runes of the berserker are the best (hard to beat flat +5% condi and normal damage)
Does the extractor only remove infusions, or can it also work on sigils/runes?
I believe it only works on infusions.
[Potential Spoilers]Where's the Epilogue?

Raids will be taking place after the story, although i doubt it’ll have anything directly to do with the story, it may give at least a little bit of info.
It worked for me after leaving the zone and then waypointing back to it.
Why didn’t you take the gold and then also not kick the guy? Justice right there.
We are going to extend the beta until Noon PST on Monday – Raiding will be available the entire time (pending non disasters)! GOGO!
This really isn’t long enough for those of us who need to sleep and go to classes/work monday morning, couldn’t it be extended any longer?
Since your personal reward level is 19, you will only get a daily chest for 1-10, and 1-20 (maximum of 2), every fractal that you do above 19 will count towards the level 19 daily chest.
Depends on how much gold you have. Making the weapon yourself is certainly cheaper though.
Schollar is the best pve rune, but he asked for WvW.
Yes ele is still viable with Pack runes (it has the same +power stats) but overal dps is gonna be a tiny bit lower (don’t know exact math).
The partywide swiftness, might and fury make Pack runes a great 2nd after strenght runes.
Oh, you are correct, i did not see that.
Scholar runes are the best for pve, a bit expensive but much cheaper than strength.
I suggest checking metabattle for the condi build if you want to use pistols.
That would be impossible, gw2 crafts always shows the cheapest possible way to level crafting.
good guild, enjoy running with them, fast runs
This is broken for me as well still, I don’t understand why anet doesn’t seem to think its important to fix major bugs that have been in their game since launch.
You will be able to get the armor on every character by getting it on one character.
Sea of Sorrows is the unofficial oceanic server, would be exactly what you are looking for.
Great guild, fast runs, fun people. You should join.
Zerker gear is gear with berserker’s stats. The easiest way to obtain exotic berserker gear is through running CoF and buying it with tokens. It is basically necessary in PvE.
Good guild, fast runs.
You’re right, there’s none of that in gw2
Sea of Sorrows is where most Oceanic players are.
You shouldn’t be affected by the living story at all, don’t worry about it.
Berserker is higher dps than assassins
You can’t, you’d have to ask them
The gate goes to fort trinity, try going there yourself and seeing where it brings you after that
Yeah there are portals, they moved them from where they were at launch though, they’re closer to the north side of lion’s arch now
warrior, ele, or thief
Standard is definitely an option, particularly for harder dungeons like arah
Healing signet is necessary, never run a dungeon without it, for great justice is fine, and dolyak signet is good when you need stability
I usually use healing signet, signet of fury, banner of strength, banner of discipline, and signet of rage on warrior, with axe/mace and axe/warhorn with a bloodlust sigil on the warhorn for max dps
I also usually use 4/6/0/4/0 for traits if there’s no other warriors
The reason you need to res them is either because you can’t kill the boss fast enough, or they just aren’t good enough, you really should run berserker gear for dungeons
