Well, fractals have this weird curve where T1 and T2 are best done with raw DPS, whereas T4 is best done with condi’s. T3 is a bit of a middle ground. Its usually because in T1 and T2 everything dies so fast there’s no point in using condi’s which have a higher long-term dps.
Anet made power builds more viable in T4 fractals several patches ago. Unfortunately, not everyone reads the patch notes.
A guildie said that they were going to implement it when next wing releases, not sure if that is true but it sounds logical in some kind of way
Hope so
I was able to receive credit for all except Viathan’s arm. Then I found out there is another poster directly south of the heart quest icon. That was the right poster to talk to, I received credit then.

Thank you everyone
I think Anet said that there will be another use for the portals but so far they didn’t implement that yet.
Ah alright, will keep my eye out for it and do research. Thank you
Is there anything I can do with a duplicate white mantle portal device, besides destroying it? I have one in a shared inventory slot already. Would be nice if we can turn it in for shards.
TLDR:
Start refining a lot of one particular material.
Your new refined materials pop up above the mini map, one at a time.
Look at your inventory, you will see one new material added to your inventory per pop up.
Press the escape key on crafting window. Pop ups will continue above mini map.
You will still receive one new refined item in your inventory per pop up.
*Now, change maps while the pop ups are still appearing*
Open your inventory.
Player does not receive any of the materials that were still in the pop up queue above the mini map.
=======
I tested this out with silk. If you start refining a large number of materials and then close out the crafting window. Mats will still appear above your mini map.
If you look into your inventory, you’ll see the number of refine materials increasing. If you change maps, the number will stop increasing and you won’t receive the rest of the mats that appeared above your mini map.
I just lost refined leather and silk, due to me changing maps; instead waiting for the items to disappear from above the mini map. I have no idea if this is a new bug or if it has been like this for years.
So a while ago a few default builds were implemented and many people hoped that this was only a small step to custom build saves.
How is development going in that regard? Many people were hoping for it with Season 5 but I’m assuming that won’t be happening until then now that we know it starts so quick.
I’m betting it won’t come until the next expansion but that’s just my non fact based theory.
Sounds like some players are saying: Gordon, “Stronghold is the mode that we need but not the mode we deserve right now.”
From Anet Dev, Evan Lesh.3295:
There is a leaderboard for the top 250 players (plus a friends/guild leaderboard for everyone else). The leaderboard awards unique titles at the end of the season.Since, there is a guild leaderboard, I guess it is safe to assume Guild Leagues are still around.
Wrong, what Lesh said was that you can view top 250 players on the ladder, PLUS your friends and guild mates regardless of their placement.
So, in otherwords we have no idea the status on Guild Leagues is what you’re saying?
zerg zerg zerg = u win
Not always. More so than most maps, I think, but I have seen games where one team was losing the teamfights but winning on rotations.
Good rotations rock on this map
I believe Stronghold is still in unranked. In my opinion, I feel it is better suited for guild vs guild matches. Or 5 man premade vs premades, that communicate with each other better.

Does the 5 player guild league still exist with the new changes to leagues in season 5?
She’s better after the patch today
For me the mission took about 5 mins for aurene to destroy the first egg generator. Then I turned around and over 50 oozes had spawn from the 2nd generator, we both died. When we respawn, the oozes had despawn and Aurene was destroying the generators normally.
We are investigating the reports of Aurene getting stuck on Ooze Generators.

I remember this last year, there was requests to make a guild airship on the guild hall suggestion forum. An Anet employee liked the idea. Thank you for the reminder. Your idea is unique to the Guild Hall Airship ideas of 2015.
Not material storage related but would be nice to have sth like wardrobe for infinite tonics.
This would be nice, i had destroy several account bound infinite tonics over the years. Due to lack of room.
I played my little heart out this weekend, even took a day of PTO to get in more Labyrinth time. And given the confusion with the undersea creature, I’m hoping we can all agree to call the Labyrinthine Horror by the name of… ~drum roll~ … Cecil. It… just seems fitting, and players seemed to agree.
I called Steve “Cecil” and he knocked me over. He didn’t like it.
Lol xD
Tenebous and Shimmering Crystals
Luck since every people are getting close to reaching the max 300% (there are some players that have already reached this number)
Thank you for the responses, I hope an Anet dev gives us an update on The Ghastly shield in 2016
Earlier this year, Anet stated that a means to getting the Ghastly Grinning Shield was accidentally included in a patch via the mystic forge. However, I believe that ability has been removed. Can anyone confirm this? Also, is there no new way to obtain this shield in 2016? Thank you everyone.
I agree, having us type in a name to confirm a legendary or ascended or a precursor drop would be extremely helpful.
Well looks like most of you guys didn’t play GW1 where they had the splitting which was getting more and more annoying as new skills were added. They learned from there that the splitting is just a pain in the kitten as the game continues to have more abilitys. They would be crazy to do the same mistakes again.
It’s like: “oh kitten I burned my hand on the hot plate” and then two seconds later you touch it again….They still look for balance in PVE but it isn’t the end of the world if you have to change your stats and you are fine. As long as the encounters stay challenging (which most of them currently aren’t) the players stay (well most of them leave anyway after they done the raid and then come back when more content is ready)…
Whereas in other modes some skills are out of hand and just need fixing. Honestly this stupid boon dump in PVE/WvW was right to get nerved, SoI and revs boon duration buff were both way to strong. It shouldn’t be so easy to keep all buffs at 100% uptime. Also you guys claim PVE is where the most of the people are this is correct but PVE isn’t equal to raiding in GW2. Don’t tell me balance really maters in open world or dungeons/fractals. Anything of those things is possibel with pretty much every possible skill set/equipment there is.
Oh I did play GW1 and I am aware skill splitting got out of hand. However, while it definitely was a lot of more workload, it overall paid off imo.
Guild Wars 1 was never balanced.
I love LA! …The OLD Lion’s Arch, that is.
- It needs to become a social hub again. Wintersday only a human holiday now? Preposterous! Is Tixx human? Lion’s Arch is supposed to be the great gathering port where all the races mingle together. Put all the Holidays back where they belong. (Well… okay. Meatoberfest is probably best held in the Black Citadel).
The NPCs in Divinity’s Reach stated their citizens paid for Wintersday to be there.
With libertreats and justfish for all!
lol
New Living World came out so more players have returned
I think I found the problem.
If you get out of the jumping puzzle or log out during it, you loose your checkpoint progress. But at the same time it does not let you tap the checkpoints any more.
So I think you cannot restart the jumping puzzle within one day. If that is right, I’d say that’s a major issue.
You have to do the JP without leaving it or changing maps, or you will lose all of your progress.
Check 3 posts down from this one for the Red Anet post. They responded to this message already, still on the home page
I made it to the top, got the same message AND I did not receive the achievement. If the JP was like the one in SW (Topsy Turvy) that had a checkpoint tracker that would be really helpful.
Is the explanation why my character randomly screams out of nowhere in the LS3 maps because of Aurene? Or something more… sinister?
Think the scream is from all the wild magic energy that is swirling about.
not even hyped.
Funny, I feel the same way about your post!
lol
Whilst i’d like to hope you are right, I doubt we will ever see Cantha. I think Elona is a better chance, but also very much an outside one.
Putting aside the known issues with having Cantha in game from a cultural standpoint, the way GW2 is designed is to keep players together. Adding a whole continent is splitting the playerbase in a way which will be detrimental to the core areas and HoT especially, as it currently stands. Work would have to be done to re-design the metas and mob difficulties to be favourable for small groups and that is not small task.
In terms of a third expansion, there are other contenders which are ahead of Cantha from a logical perspective. The primary one being the Far Shiverpeaks. The Crystal Desert is also likely a higher priority.
If, and it is a huge if, we go to Cantha, it will almost certainly be a long way down the line when we have fully exhausted Tyria and the Dragon story.
Having said that, a return to Cantha would be awesome, just to see Kaineng City under the GW2 engine, especially now we have gliding
Well our next expansion will probably cover the far shiverpeaks, I mentioned this in the post. What’s left besides the crystal desert? Sure quite a few places but not enough to cover two full expansions (2nd and 3rd). After this expansion, the delopement of a new continent is a must. I’m sure that by the release of this expansion, anet will begin its work on the new continent. It won’t be the entire world, just several maps, and then on further expansions they will unlock further maps.
Deldrimor Front, Dominion of Winds, Blazeridge Mountains, and Crystal Desert. Imo, so possibly 3-4 new expansion areas.
There seem to be some events that only trigger very rarely. In queensdale the bandits on the bridge and the rampaging bull are a couple of events that very rarely show up. Maybe they only trigger when local map population is above a certain amount because the times I saw them was at launch and then again when the game went f2p. The elemental event might be one that has some sort of population nearby trigger.
That would be very interesting if it was true, we (players) should try to get it to trigger one day.
Karka were attacking that town
Try this, if your on windows 10, on ur bottom right screen, right click over the volume icon and select playback devices. Then select the default device and right click on it and select configure speaker, there should be 3 things available (Stereo, Quadrophonic and 5.1 surround) select Stereo and hit the test button if you can hear the ringing test sounds it should work now. Thank you for your help.
Also on GW2, on the sound options, make sure the checkbox “Disable Player Chatter” is not checked.
I’m on Windows 7 and Player Chatter was unchecked. I never had to mess with my sound settings before to get one line of dialogue to play. So, i do not believe it is the same issue I had. I heard the audio played on one character and has not played for my other 3+ characters. So, I believe it is something to do on Anet’s end with a patch they made or a general bug. Thank you
Need a beating a dead horse gif for this one.
Would it be possible to get a way to duel friendly players in world. Like just, click on their portrait and select duel option.
And also, some way to inspect others armor by also clicking on the portrait. Sometimes, I get curious about others item names and it would be nice to be able to inspect people.
Anet talked about a dueling option in 2012 but that hasn’t been talked about in years. You can just ask people what they’re wearing too
I just tried again. I’m using headset with surround sound disabled. There is no text in the chat window of my character talking and the original audio with the backpack did not play.
Since Living World Season 3 release Taimi’s voice does not initially play after the cinematic with the Pact Airship. The dialogue that is missing is when she talks to you about planting a radio in your backpack. It only plays for the first character on my account. I asked others about this and they confirmed, the dialogue plays once. If you were to take another character through Living World Season 3, Taimi’s dialogue would not play again.
To me, the dialogue was humorous and important. I did not hear it the first time because I was entrance with the new map and the explosions going on around me. I would very much like to hear her dialogue fully again. I have went through Living World Season 3 on over 3 characters, the backpack initial dialogue did not play.
Nicely caught!
But where is the gif of Drew imitating a frantic Jerry that Rubi asked for?
Someone said they were making one lol
Twitch Reaction. GW2 4th Anniversary Livestream showed several blooper moments with Rubi during the recording:

Hiya,
The Golem doesn’t move to start the event/boss
Make sure you’re in the spawning window
In Eternal Battlegrounds, there was a charr thief, who even when he attacked me and my party members, he wouldn’t get out of stealth. He seemed to have no cool down on his traps either.
Is this a known bug?
I would right click on them and report them.
This one’s been around for a while. Instead of fitting her face to the usual rectangle, it has it stretched out like the image for a legendary boss.
Yes, reported it months ago.
Adds to the challenge, people need to work together to beat the bosses. There was harsh player criticism that most fights in GW2 were a zerg fest (before HoT) with little penalties.
So it’s better to not kill the boss rather than kill it fast when others have not done?
It’s a 90 mins-2 hours event, I don’t think part of it should be that annoying.
Annoying, is relative. What’s annoying to you may not be annoying to others.
It’s like a few people never played games where auto-saving didn’t exist and you had to save manually. If you forgot or got killed, you had to repeat the content all over again. Got use to games like that in the 90s, in fact some games like the Legend of Zelda series still use manual saves (with a few automatic ones).
The entire time I’ve played GW and GW2 there has never been an issue like this. They have no experience in situations like this.
I’d say they handled it pretty kitten well with that in mind. Good job Anet!
I agree.
