I disagree that siege disablers gave more open-field fights.

It’s either defenders just sit inside the tower/keep and throw disablers or a prolonged long range siege battle with occasional yolo/stealth disabler runs till its 10 v 50

For simplicity of development, just remove Rally from downed in WvW.

If I were to go a step further, dead players would be required to port to spawn. Being able to bring up dead player means the biggest army almost always wins since they can completely revive to full strength after a fight. If players had to port on dead, small groups could actively engage zergs and whittle them down.

Good thing that screenie doesn’t show the numbers behind you. I’ve seen the TC blob when you run tagged, it’s quite the blob.

I don’t see green dots on minimap either… I think you are imaginating things…

looks like the map is fully zoomed out, 2 TC guys fighting DOJO doesn’t seem to appear on map either. I’d imagine there’s a bunch of rainbow colored unicorns behind.

Unfortunately your playstyle fits in T2 . You can join big fights on one map or roam on the other. T2 usually have 2 or 3 roaming maps and 1 or 2 larger fights.

I disagree. I’m a bit of a zergaholic though, dropping wells and watching the other side melt is a passion of mine. As for roaming I mostly don’t, but when I do I bring a cheese build mesmer so I can escape when needed. T1 roaming is what you make it, but I would suggest making and using a build that can get out of the way of the runaway train when need be. As for me I’m on TC, but I have frienemies on JQ so either is a good choice.

Tier 1 isn’t the problem. If people transfer to T1 servers it is because they are seeking the sort of 24/7 competitive WvW slugfest that the game was advertised to be from the start.

The problem is that the overall WvW population has dwindled to the point where the action in other tiers is just a shadow of what it once was.

The sad state of the game.

They’ll be fighting the same T1 server for an eternity and win blowouts vs t2 during tournaments. Staleness will kick in and quit the game/gamemode forever. GG

We’ve already been fighting the same servers for months on end. Here’s the thing. The matchup isn’t stale. Red tags are the same no matter what server/guild you’re fighting. Some will be better and some worse. The mechanics don’t change when you fight a different server. A balanced(ish) matchup will always be more interesting than a blowout matchup.

The mechanics don’t change but the players do. Fights against other servers wouldn’t be fun for you right now because it would be a complete blowout but if the numbers were a little more even you might have fun running into servers using different strategies than what you are used to.

If you ever leave the zerg you will see roaming and small scale is very different from server to server.

They are fighting the same servers, but looks like its not really the same guilds/people as before. It feels like most of the population are transfers from lower tiers.

What will happen to tier 1 if there are no lower tiers to replenish its people?

Scrubs who died/stomped should respawn automatically may help the skill vs numbers issue.

I think it would be one of the best anti blob mechanic.

as far as the Queues… yeah, they’re pretty bad NOW at times, adding several thousand people per server will only make it worse. you’d almost HAVE to find a way to expand the player cap per map.

this is because bg still getting transfers even if your world says its full because of ‘blackouts’ and anets kitten system

Oooookay, its easy to see the usual B.S. people post to explain why they lose. It can’t be theirs of course. I do know that playing smart will beat mindless. I read some guy insist that a 5 man sieged equiped keep can’t be held against 70 zerg. Maybe, maybe not. I can testify that one of my guildies in YB held off a 30+ zerg w/ 6 golems BY HERSELF. Yepper, she had an AC and a treb. They died. (you wanna say I lie? I will give your name to her. She will chew you a new one) YB wins cause we play smart. We learn and teach what we learn to the rest of our server. I will not say a high pop isn’t an advantage. Even then you can make them bleed. and get bags at your feet while using a siege engine. In other words guys learn to use the weapons you have and NEVER give up anything without a fight! Good Luck on your season.

Tie any rewards for WvW, including Karma, coin and loot drops to the server population balance at any given moment, a modifier to multiply your chances. To maximize reward you will want to play during non-peak times or against a force larger then yours. Once the large, highly populated servers realize that they get more bang for the buck on the lower populated servers they will move. Over time it will all balance out. No need to change population caps.

Now that’s a decent idea

I agree rewarding people for dispersing across servers is better than punishing people for overstacking (at first. Some might require “punishment”.) However I don’t think people are playing WvW for karma or loot. I think people are overstacking so they can… how to say… ‘feel like they’re winning’ for lack of a nicer way to put it. Give the average player 10x as much loot as normal and he’s not going to accept that if he gets mutilated by better players every time he steps out the door.

Full servers who are still getting transfers due to some loophole (blackouts) deserves to get some light smacking.

Let them choose again, Queue/EotM or transfer. everyone wants pop balance right?

Add some new wvw reward tracks for unique skins to get some new blood.

Decrease WvW Map Cap,
Sorry but you have to spread out or play EotM while on Queue.

Off hours coverage might still be there but, 30 vs 80 (assumes 80 is the cap) is still a lot better than 30 vs 150

Staleness of match-ups.
If players are a bit spread out, the gap will be smaller and we can have a variety of match ups every week

False, if guilds in t1 spread out we’ll have 6 or more servers having t2-t3 population we can have different matchups every week

How many major guilds do you think tier 1 has?

Ideal goal was not to fill 6 or more servers but to even things a bit for the variance instead of locking 3 servers to fight eternally.

People complain about blob, queue and staleness, but here we are, stacking t1 more for the “fights”.

The list doesn’t include pugs/pvx I think.

Because fighting the same guilds with the same builds on the same maps for 2 years gets a little redundant. Also because anet refuses to do anything for wvw.

Because people keep on stacking on T1 (more stacking coming soon) so the gap in between tiers will become even more bigger so no variance for servers to fight.

it’s also the kittening people’s fault imho

So those dumbkittens that think moving to T1 is the solution for variance are just making it worse.
