The reason why inferior PvE professions such as Engineers, Rangers and Necromancer will forever be inferior is because control role has zero worth.
Cripple/chill/immobilize will never be useful when a group can melee it better. Enemy mobs do not move if both the player and the mob are in melee range.
Knockbacks are counter-productive or worthless. Anyone who uses knockbacks slows the dps down. Bosses are almost immune to the control role and when the time defiant stacks are gone, the final knockback is worthless as boss spams the moves.
Dungeons and Fractals needs to be reworked from the scratch where control role is valuable. When that happens, inferior professions will no longer be inferior.

@Redscope you really should read more carefully before you respond and look foolish, he said his 8 man will NEVER defeat a 50 man…..your mistake and bad response, not his.
Here is a secret to killing a 50 man group with 8 man.
Let say that your 8 man group is very efficient at wiping 10 players at a time. Well, 50 man is really too much for the job. But what if we break the fights down?
Instead of 8 v 50, it can be 8 v 10 then 8 v 10 then 8 v 10 then 8 v 10 and finally 8 v 10. 5 small battles to chip away the 50 man zerg.
Split and divide the zerg. Scatter the zerg.
How can you make it a 8 v 10? Well, that is up for you to decide. Use environmental positioning, Use crowd control, use mobility, or something that I could never think of.
If you can’t split the zerg, then obviously the 50 man zerg is an organized guild.

If you did not include “Don’t cheese or Line of sight any bosses/mobs.” I could probably post several CoE runs that satisfy your challenge. I really do not understand why groups cannot do this to satisfy your rather interesting challenge. If anything it makes some encounters more riskier.
That is the point of a challenge. It is to do something more risky.
I took that away because without it, it makes this challenge too easy with 4 warriors and 1 mesmer.

It means that you don’t hide behind a corner of a pillar or wall and dps the cluster of mobs that is stacked together. Mobs stacks together because mobs takes the shortest path.

I propose a challenge to you coordinated groups.
Here is the challenge:
- Remove the healing skill from the healing slot. Including Healing signet, Signet of Purity and Signet of Restoration.
- Don’t skip any mobs.
- Don’t cheese or Line of sight any bosses/mobs.
- Don’t exploit while in this challenge.
- Bonus points, if you don’t leave combat to regenerate hp during fights.
What you can do:
- Use healing shout warriors.
- Use Altrustic Healing Guardians- Optional. AH may trivalize this challenge.
- Use water elementalists
- Use water field + Blast finishers.
- Use range weapons/attacks.
- Use regeneration boons
- Resurrect downed.
- Use ranged resurrection skills.
- Elite skills
- Utility skills
- Weapon skills.
- Pet’s buff like Fern wolf’s Regeneration.
- Use Nourishment buffs. Bonus points if you don’t use Omnomberry pie.
- Use voice chat to coordinate better.
That is all.
The point of this challenge is to challenge your teamwork beyond than just healing yourself and dps the boss down more. It is clearly for fun and not for profit. I would like to see how tactics would change if there weren’t any healing skills at all.

I would really like to see Fall traits to be buffed enough to see them used in esports. I would love to see the players make a astounding entrance or an grand escape.
What must be done:
- Fall traits does 100% damage reduction while falling in sPvP only. Possibly, falling heals you.
- More sPvP maps with more cliffs.
Fall traits should give more mobility to whoever uses it. Opening pathways where players cannot use without it.

I believe it is in Anvil Rock and Borlis Pass’s best interest to break the alliance.
Here is why:
WvW casuals will have a better time in WvW. Sometimes, it is fun to fight challenging fights. But when adversary are way over the top too powerful, WvW becomes less fun. Casuals will less and less play WvW and play PvE more.
Anvil Rock and Borlis Pass are both good match together. However, neither are good matches against Ehmry Bay even combined.
Every small victory against Ehmry Bay comes with a terrible price. Usually with Ehmry Bay dismantling both Borderlands to pieces. This will devastate the WvW casual and cause them to rage quit.
tl;dr: You guys will have more fun and loot if you guys fight each other instead of being steamrolled to death by Ehmry Bay.
You guys will even have more fun if you transfer to Ehmry Bay.

When a server is 100k point lead, there is very little point for the other server to try harder.
Even if the other server capped the entire map. They will not win anyways. After the few days after reset night, WvW will feel dragged out and boring. There is very little drive to win.
My suggestion:
Keep the same scoring system. After 24 hours, the server with the highest points will gain one win point. The server with the most win points win the weekly match.
Let say at Saturday, Red has 2000 pts, Blue has 1000 pts, Green has 3000 pts. Green gain one win point.
On Sunday, Red has 4000 pts, Blue has 1000 pts, green has 1000 pts. Red gain one win point.
On Monday, Red has 0 pts, Blue has 10,000 pts, green has 0 pts. Blue gain one win point.
Fast forward:
Red has 2 win points, blue has 1 win points, green has 4 win points. Green wins the weekly match.
Next week:
Red and Green both have 3 win points and Blue has 1 win point.
Red has a total of 100,000 pts and Green has a total of 105,000 pts. Green wins the weekly match.
Why?
Everyday is a push towards winning. If the two losing servers are far behind in points, they can push to win tomorrow. It will break the WvW casual’s losing mentality and give them a drive for their server’s success.

If you give any kind of rewards, it will attract bots.
At the release of Guild Wars 2, There were hundreds of bots that uselessly guard yaks for free money and exp. They take up queue.

Skilled small groups have a advantage on a zerg already.
If one player dies, you can rally your downed small roaming party member instantly. If you can’t stomp anyone, then you are terrible at busting zergs.

We get that you guys dont care about rank, thats what we respected. Straight up about the fight. But why be BPs lap dog? If you are going to fight for the sake of fighting then why be used by a group you could (and were) just as easily beat. This is what we don’t get.

AR is the defacto smaller server of the 3. If after 10 weeks you haven’t figured this out then you are truly ignorant or just joined WvW.
AR will gladly fight BP 1v1. But as we all know , Ebay can’t help itself and MUST get in its kicks. So what ends up happening? We have BP @ hills and Ebay @ Bay and both poking us @ Garry.
What do we get for our efforts? A bunch of immature kids on the forums putting us down ( you know who you are) in the forums and using lines like ‘bunch of bads’ and ‘dumptster these fools’.
Now I’m a big boy and have grown thick skin so these lame trolls just go unanswered, same for my guild and for the regular WvW in AR. But if you haven’t noticed , AR is a pug/casual server when it comes to WvW. So when the puggies get discouraged ( you know, sorta like what happened to Ebay this weekend) they bail and go do something else.
So this alliance is our effort to bring some life back into AR WvW, ( you know, Tuesday when we had 360ppt) and provide an more enjoyable experience for our puggies.
Do i like this alliance? hell no. I would much rather spend my nights making BP cry and Kalkz rage. But we do what leaders do and swallow our pride and our own self interest and agree to this alliance. Call us lapdogs if you want but this has been a great boon to the WvW community in AR.
Now do I expect you to understand the above, no. The fact that you had to ask shows that your way to immature to grasp the concept. However I do know there are plenty of mature players on Ebay who will understand this and maybe just maybe one will take you aside and explain it to you.

I do want rewards for defending. But, here is a problem.
It will be abused no matter how small the reward.
Say if you make the reward for standing in the keep, 10 copper per 30 minutes.
I just need to create 10 bots and that will give me 1 silver per 30 minutes and make them run around the wall. This is free money right there.

Ranger down state is good in many situations, but its not the only good one. Ele’s memsers and theives have much better down states in larger battles because they survive a long time giving plenty of time to rally, whereas ranger down states are atronger in 1v1 and 2v2 fights because their pet can make a real difference there, especially if they are a BM.
False, Rangers are the best in surviving down state.
Get a wolf and a Black moa, you can stop a player from stomping you 4 times. Where as every other profession can stop a stomp for a max of one.

What makes Ranger down state different from the others? The answer: Rangers can use their pet. Their mechanic, pets. Rangers can order pet to attack, use pet abilities, and switch pets.
Warriors cannot use burst skills while downed.
Mesmer cannot shatter skills while downed.
Necromancers cannot go into Death shroud while downed.
Engineers cannot use toolbelt skills while downed.
Thieves cannot use steal or waste initiative while downed.
Guardians cannot use virtues while downed.
Elementalists cannot switch attunements while downed.
Yet, Rangers can use their pet while downed.

I agree that killing is part of the game, that is why I called your guild very smart. No one likes being steamrolled to death. I thought the word “smart” is a positive word. Let your server’s zerg get devoured while you do your own thing. It is a smart strategy, a Logan Thackeray strategy. Avoid fights you can’t win that is Sun Tzu’s level of smart. Even guilds in losing servers has to do whatever they can to survive instead of thriving. This is a compliment.

seriously at least change `daily tournaments matches won`achievement to `daily tournaments matches PLAYED`cuz you cant win tournaments sometimes for 2 hours.

I have zero problems with the rest of the category getting increased. It has zero effect in making spvp less fun. But, the capture makes daily a huge chore and very intrusive to one’s enjoyment. It encourages bad plays, such as Players stacking up in an undefended node in the beginning of the match. It encourages avoiding fights just so you can check off the daily.
Instead of capture being in daily, just change it to “Daily Wins.” Even, reverting back to the number of capture to three is significantly better.

The technology isn’t there. If they could do true autoloot, they would do it.
However, I don’t like this suggestion.
After a successful battle, there is enjoyment in going through the corpses for loot. It is so satisfying to see bags everywhere. But what if we have the option? I will still be forced to turn auto-loot on. The commander will just go to a battle, win and go to another battle without giving me any time to collect my bags. This will make zerg vs. zerg even more monotonous and boring.

Love the chat box. Ebay has our keep, we should retaliate by attacking AR. That is some fine logic.
First of all, if BP retaliate on Ehmry Bay, they must really be prepared to face major losses.
Losses = less morale. Less morale = less men. Less men = can’t get kitten done.
Victories = more morale. More morale = more men. More men = can get kitten done. AR is the scrapegoat for BP’s morale.
IMO, this logic is really understandable if you look at it carefully.

I disagree and I am against all suggestions made in this thread .
I was in OP’s shoe when I was pugging with commanders. Then, my guild turned into a serious WvW guild. Now, I use more melee builds than ever before.
There is a huge difference between the two. PuGs and guilds. PuGs are just militia men. Militia wants to play it safe. You can’t get anymore safe than playing with range. WvW guilds are the elite soldiers. It is hard to play melee alone. However, if you have someone next to you meleeing with you, you will survive longer. WvW guilds knows that going melee is much more damaging than staying in range.
Join a serious WvW guild. Join the top WvW guild in your server and you will see WvW in a different light.

Waypoint? Sure it’s a good idea. Level? Nah son, that would just kitten with the whole system.
What system?

A Guild perk: Guild waypoint and upscaling.
Whenever you place a guild waypoint(Cost very little influence) at a existing waypoint, anyone in the guild can travel to that waypoint. A lower level player that traveled their will upscale at that level. Duration of 24 hours.
The purpose of this is to revive explorable zones.
Here’s why:
In my guild, our alt leveling event is in WvW. It is also a karma train where we take every supply camp and un-upgraded tower/keeps. However, the same scene is just too boring.
So, Why not have PvE be the exp/karma train too? There is a problem, not everyone have full map completion. It will be difficult to get many players in. In WvW, all you need to do is press ‘B’ and select a borderland. Not everyone has alts that has level sufficient enough for the zone. In WvW, every character gets upscaled to level 80. My suggestion will make it easier for guilds to play with each other. PvE guilds will have a easier time playing a map completion zerg.
By adding this, you give more reason to add MORE dynamic events(the selling point of Guild Wars 2) back into the old zone. PvE guild won’t have to play in the low level zones forever so that their low levels can join in the karma train. When data shows that zones are spiking up, it is time that dynamic events get more attention. You breath life back into the big vast world that was taken away from all this dungeon grinding and WvW karma train.
The cost of the influence MUST be cheap. It shouldn’t be crazy expensive nor require a certain impossible to reach tiers. It has to be small guild friendly.
