New Boon: Attraction

Description: Nearby projectiles attacks this players instead.

Mechanic: Attraction creates a dome around the player with this boon. The moment a projectile passes the edge of thes dome, the projectile will then change course and attack the player directly instead.

Candidates for the Attraction Boon:

  • Whirling Defense.
  • Fortify(Conjure Earth skill)
  • Save yourself
  • Illusionary Warden(The phantasm gets Attraction, not the mesmer player)

And why would the charr want that place?

I gave you a reason:

And what would they do with a sea? Trade with angry humans in Cantha, Kryta and Elona?

This would definitely start a war for orr and Ascalon.

Let say it does incite a war between human and Charr. So what? Alliances with hatred that is deep-rooted wouldn’t last long anyways. Several ports and naval bases are worth the cost.

Plus, Charr would gain 3 new trading partner. Lion Arch, The Grove, and Rata Sum.

Once Charr opens up port, they can begin Marine technology development. Charr lacks these technology because they don’t have a single port.

Then they can expand to the unknown. Ever seen the Tyrian Globe? Cantha is not the only other continent in existence. Charr can then colonize to other parts of the land for new goods to come into the market.

Try reading Alexander the Great’s history. He conquered part of the Anatolia because then he can open up ports to bring his country prosperity.

Try reading the British Empire history where they conquered many of the Earth’s territory.

But why would any race leave their homes to move in to another race’s ancient land that is totally different to what they are used to and is pretty far away.

You can force this for sure… but srsly we know the Pact and the storytelling – bunch of good-doers. They know where Orr belongs to and they will give it back to humanity. Not Kryta, humanity.

And LA was founded by mostly human pirates, not other races moving in after a flood.

That logic is sound.

Time to wipe off the definition of migration, immigration and, emigration.

Time to scoff at the people today, the past, the near future and the far future that emigrates away from their homeland.

Or open up a book and look at all the reason why migration even happens in the first place.

Problem: ArenaNet said that players are not interested in Dynamic events.

Facts:

  • Players want rewards.
  • Dynamic events are fun
  • Dynamic events are not rewarding. Therefore, players will not go back to the world and do dynamic events again.

Solution: Make Dynamic event rewarding.

Have Dynamic event reward system be similar to the dungeon/champion reward system. If you complete a dynamic event, you will get bonus rewards. If you complete the same dynamic event again, you do not get the bonus rewards.

For example, you complete the dynamic event: “Escort Biggs to Fort Trinity” with a gold medal. You gain the regular reward of 1s86c + the bonus reward(3s72c). Then the chain moves towards “Defend Biggs from Risen Knights.” You, the player, complete it and gain the regular reward(1s86c) + the bonus reward(3s72c).

Now, you do the dynamic event: “Escort Biggs to Fort Trinity” again. This time, you do not get the bonus reward and you get only the reward of 1s86s only.

Dynamic events bonus reward will reset weekly. To encourage players to spread out rather than farming one efficient zone only.

I think that ArenaNet is wrong that players are not interested in Dynamic Events.

Dynamic Events are interesting and fun. There is just too many problems revolving around them.

Problems:

  • Terrible Rewards. ArenaNet said that dungeons are meant to be the most rewarding. The problem is, dungeons are too rewarding and Dynamic events reward is not worth doing over again at all. Dynamic Events need to reward more while not risk spawning more farms. A week after the game released, level 80 players have complained how little silver they earned. In a meta that is all about getting rewards, the easiest solution is to increase rewards for open world activities.
  • No new dynamic events: The problem with dynamic events are that once the event is over and you went back, the same event happened again. This makes dynamic event less of a immersion and more of a grind. The solution to this problem is to add more dynamic events everywhere.

The problem is not blind, the problem is that Thief can fart blackpowder anytime they want.

The solution is to nerf thieves.

Black Powder takes 6 init, half their pool, and takes 8s to recharge that (baring a build specifically made to generate init).

If you are getting destroyed by a thief with little to no init, the problem is not the thief.

Except, Blind is buffed. You can’t just remove blind by hitting the air.

In order to remove blind, you have to hit something to remove it. The moment you get away from BP, the thief chases you down and strafe around you. When you finally get the blind off, the thief can fart another blackpowder.

If the thief is getting dangerously low on hp, he can just HS away to stealth.

Nope, Blackpowder needs nerf, Blackpowder deserves a nerf.

You know what you could’ve done to make your 3 hour experience more pleasant?

Take control.

You’re the experienced one here. You knew what to do. You can be the leader to make the run smoother. Type down a brief plan and fast type orders around. Be someone worth following.

If you effectively take control, the ranger that leeroy jenkins toward death will know who the boss is. Instead of running in herself, she would run behind you. When the four other players don’t know what to do, you can either quit or take control.

All of these wipes could’ve been prevented if you typed down a plan.

Racial tonics are tonics that turn you into another race. This tonic is a consumable and has a duration of 1 hour. Racial tonic allows you to fight like Omnom Ghost.

You also keep the armor. If the player is wearing racial armor, then it will turn into another low level armor.

The facial/body/hair type is the same throughout the tonic forms.

Why:
It is a way to change race(temporarily) while not contradicting the personal storyline.

Jump shot travels same distance with just runing also any delay on casting may cause you travel less in combat.

You can’t escape with Jump Shot since it is interruptable, stopable completely open to any impairing effect( you travel less on chil, travel none on immobil etc) so you can’t escape anywhere with that. If you can escape with jump shot, you could with just walking too.

Chill, immobilization, cripple, interrupt effects all leaps, jump shot is not singled out. Longbow doesn’t even have a mobility skill. Some mobility is better than no mobility.

Also you can charge with it yea. Do your jump of death (if you don’t get knocked down at mid-air)into your enemies to get slammed with your undefeatable medium armor. unless you didn’t give up on your offensive armor and 30 offensive trait points on defensive ones just to die 2 seconds later and hit 500 auto attack as a result.

(I love jump shot also I don’t have any problems with Ranger’s getting better)

When jump shot leaps on a foe, it does HUGE damage. 5000 damage when landing on a foe vs. 1000 damage to get out. 6000 damage when used on where you are standing on.

Dynamic Event bonus reward

Dynamic Event bonus rewards are extra gold/karma/experience reward for each dynamic event.

The bonus rewards resets once a week. This is not enough time to get through the entire world map and have nothing else to get.

The bonus rewards are double the regular rewards. If a level 80 gets 1 silver 86 copper, they get rewarded double that and the regular reward. After that, it is only a regular reward. So 5 silver and 58 copper. Note: rewards can change.

Results:

  • Farmer will find that spreading throughout the world will give decent profit instead of isolating themselves in one spot.
  • Gives a reason to go back to lower level zones.
  • Gives Anet a reason to add more dynamic events.
  • Profitable and fun for people who don’t want to be limited to running the same thing over and over again.
  • Dynamic events, once again, become the core part of the game.

SE p1 is not recommended in pugs. Unless you are a skilled guardian(don’t count on other guardians to be skilled).

Whenever I am not playing my guardian, I noticed that the other party members lack brains to know that Wall of Reflection is useful throughout the dungeon except for the final boss.

Then we always wipe because party members are too cautious about spamming that wall of reflection, therefore that fire golem bombard us to death. They also don’t know that putting a wall in front of Nokk’s face actually helps ranged party members AND melee party members.

A few days ago i was doing some dungeon runs with a few friends and we basically started talking about the ’’true’’ optimized party setup. Now, we all know that the 4 warrior 1 mesmer meta isn’t the fastest by a long shot, so i was thinking. What is the best party composition in your opinion?

I had the following in mind.

(2) 1 Warrior for the green banner (Maybe green and red), might take a second one over a ranger.
(0) 1 Ranger for the spotter trait and the frost spirit for party wide DPS increase while dealing great damage with sword auto.
(2) 1 Elementalist with a lightning hammer and a Fiery Greatsword for FGS rushing bosses after they are pulled into a wall.
(0) 1 Mesmer for pulls, reflects and timewarps, helping the Elementalist with their FGS rushes and optimizing DPS by wall pulling.
(0) 1 Guardian for additional reflects and extremely good damage on their sword auto when traited, although it’s not Warrior tier.

Keep in mind this was just a quick train of thought of mine, so it’ll probably be flawed. I’d like to hear everyone’s thoughts on this matter, though.

I would remove the Mesmer for an Engineer and a Guardian for something else. Guardians get in the way because of the Light fields, extremely unsynergetic with Elementalists and their 25 stacks of might.

Mesmer is only good for Portal and Timewarp. They are terrible due to low damage.

Engineer can stack 25 stacks of AoE vulnerability for additional 25% dps.

I am fine with the self-knockdown. It is good compromise between risk and reward. But the skill’s range is pathetic compared point black shot (ranger long bow #4):

Both have 15 second cooldown.
Overcharged shot (engi rifle #4) has 400 range (500 traited), self-knockdown, 450 launch
Point Black Shot (ranger LB #4) has 900 range (1125 traited), 400-600 knockback, no self-knockdown

The engineer’s overcharged shot should have at least 500 range if not traited and 800 range with the rifled barrels trait.

But rifle #3, blunderbuss, is an even bigger problem. Maximum damage at 100!! (less than melee range). When is this gonna get fixed?!?

Engineer rifle has way too many utility. Net shot to immobilize, Overcharge to knockback, Jump shot to escape or charge in.

Ranger Longbow is all about damage, with only PBS, and a unreliable cripple that one can avoid easily.

Engineer Rifle is just useful at close range and mid range while longbow is only useful at long range. Rangers are free lunch when you get close in, while Engineers are still deadly at close range.

Overcharged shot is balanced.

Then his AoE conditions go onto cooldown, and the warrior has to wait 30 seconds for the necro to get back his skills.

The necro will have to attack one mob at the time because most of the weapons auto-attack are single target only.

You do realize that those spirits have health, right? And since they have health, they can die, right? And when they die, you are now fighting a Ranger with 0 skills in his utility slots.

Spirits have decent survivability. By the time you destroy them all, the ranger can resummon them(cooldown starts even when the spirit is up), that is if you aren’t downed.

If you are attacking spirits, you aren’t attacking the ranger.

That is like 4500 damage every 3 secs assuming you are hitting a 50% damage reduction from armor (which is over 3700+ armor) you must be getting 1500+ health regen per sec? I must be using the wrong healing signet…

it’s called dodges, endure pain, blocks etc. use it.

on topic: yes the healing signet is most op heal in the game. you don’t even have to use it even.

Wrong, it is not that you don’t even have to use it, but the active version is terrible. In order to survive, you have to depend fully on the passive.

3k heal vs. 400 hp/s.

Obviously, the 400hp/s is the clear choice. However, it is regeneration. A high dps attack/burst will destroy all thoughts of OP. At that moment, when you are crippled and helpless while missiles are chipping your hp down, you will wish you had Healing Surge.

Dungeons, explore everything, harvest everything, kill everything, do heart quests. You can level with crafting if you have tons of gold to spare.

Completely wrong answer.

That is a way to level. That is not the fastest way to level.

The fastest way is to buy from the gemshop and turn it into gold then craft your way to level 80.

Healing signet is OP, I can’t kill wqrriqr anymore. I used to sneeze at them and they die, but now I can’t kill them anymore. Please nerf them to remind me that my skill with a thief is superior.

This is purely an aesthetic option built for immersion.

This will be in the option to toggle it on or off.

Suggestion: Whenever you get knockdown, launched, stun, or dazed, you have a 5% chance for your helmet to knock off.

In the technical side, your helmet just doesn’t show anymore.

Anyone think that Rampage is good?

I think that the main problem with Rampage is perception.

The fact that autoattack is fist attacks makes Rampage look like a downgrade rather than a upgrade like Lich Form is to a Necromancer.

Instead, Rampage should’ve used weapon attacks and then Rampage would actually feel stronger.
