One time, my guild, [pk], siege the backdoor of AR garrison.

We didn’t see the AR zerg until red name showed up behind the door. So we assumed that there was a killzone in there. So our commander made us hide behind the wall and buff up our defense then we charged in.

The killzone was no joke. I thought I was going to die. Every guardian was spamming Recieve the Light spell and everyone was dodging. Lost a few of our men, but we had enough to get the job done. Right when we pushed through. We turned right into the stairs and went up the steps. Then we swept the siege on the ramparts and circle around the AR zerg and destroyed them. I dislike how the AR zerg was not expecting us on the rampart at all. The few defenders on the rampart should’ve warned the zerg in the lord’s room.

I tend to advise heartseeker spam thieves on how to improve. Nothing makes me sadder than seeing my main profession played so poorly

Please teach me!

I do not consider myself a good thief even though I killed a lot of players. I heartseeker spam a lot because it kills. If a good thief knows better way, I want to learn.

I started playing thief one day ago for sPvP.

I had 10 players harassing me saying I am a terrible player when they are on the ground dying. I never had received this much harassment while playing any other profession, especially the engineer which is my favorite and best class. Is this a thief only thing or is it just me?

Staff 1- Wave of Wrath

I suggest that Wave of Wrath give 1/2-1 second regen to allies whenever allies are affected or Wave of Wrath give 50hp to allies per attack.

I suggest this because I want Staff guardian to feel like more like a healer. That is all.

Control warriors in sPvP and PvE are trash.

In WvW, however, you can use Bull rush + Stomp to get straight into the heart of the enemy and scatter them away.

Rampage

Make the auto-attack a Ranged attack.

There are two ways to do this.

The one lazy way is to have Punch send out shockwaves.

The second and more awesome way is to have the Rampage’s autoattack to be changed to whatever weapon the warrior is holding in the Main hand. If you have a sword while rampage is up, you throw swords. If you have a axe, you throw an axe. Same with Mace, Hammers, and Greatswords. Off-hands are ignored. For ranged weapons, instead of throwing the bow or rifle, the warrior in Rampage will shoot the weapon at a powerful force. The Warrior with the longbow will shoot arrows as big as a ballista bolt while the rifle shoots out bullets as powerful as shockwaves. If you use a environmental weapon or you are disarmed, you will have the punch skill that sends out shockwaves.

By doing this, it will make Rampage more closer to being viable.

4/19 AR/BP/EB

I like to record this epic siege on Durios today.

So one of my guildmate wanted to play a “Hold the tower for as long as you can.” So we took Durios. This tower was located between BP and AR. This entire event lasted 5 hours.

Then we started filling the place with Siege weapons.

First and second wave, it was AR with Flame Rams. With the defenders, we massacred the AR invaders.

The third wave, AR got smart and used Catapults. Except, Ebay steamrolled AR once again.

Fourth Wave, BP decided to join the battle. Ebay steamrolled them both.

Fifth Wave, AR finally destroyed a wall and went up the stairs. But, Ebayers wiped them all on the wall.

There was a time when we built trebs and catapults to defend from enemy catapults and trebuchet.

Also, there were some small battles between AR and BP at Umberglade.

Sixth wave, Whoever suggested to built the catapult and Trebs were right. AR built Catapults from a far. We destroyed them with our own trebs and catapults.

7th wave, The walls were down again, but AR is too stupid to rush in. So they stayed at the entrance to the breach to get themselved farmed.

8th-14th wave, same thing as the sixth wave. Players were getting bored and joined the karma train, we had a few defenders left.

15th wave, The walls were down and AR finally retook Durios.

I would like to thank the PuGs and pk for holding Durios for as long as possible.

WvW balancing suggestion

No repair cost does a lot already. It encourages your small team to fight harder since the 1 silver dying fee is gone.

I had a small team that was cornered by a sea of enemies. Many of us were ready to jump over the keep and run for their lives. But with the outmanned buff, there is no risk in fighting to the last man. We fought hard enough to last for 10 minutes.

Without that repair fee, players would flee from the face of death.

This is way better than adding stat boost. With stat boost, it will kill small group roaming. It will make servers a Zerg vs zerg. It is unfun and boring.

I don’t see the harm to this suggestion at all. It just add more way to gain money.

CoF p1 nets around 75 silver per 6 minutes. Running CoF p1 is only limited if the gate is open or not.

The suggested daily will only net 1 gold per day. Daily is limited by time.

2 runs or 12 minutes of CoF p1 will net more than what daily can give you.

Engineers can only use rifles and pistols, so adding another class that can use that legendary rifle makes it even less exclusive and is unfair to engineers. They don’t get legendary weapon/bomb kits or turrets.

Technically, engineer’s rifle and pistols are the secondary weapons. They don’t really make the build. The kits you use define the engineer’s build.

So in reality, engineers have 7 weapons.

Path 1 and 2 are normally farmed. Path 2 (I believe it’s that one) requires coordination a which 90% of pugs do not have. This is the one with 5 barrels. If you have a Mesmer then it’s incredibly easy; even with a pug.

For p2, just place a barrel very far away and use the rest of the team to place barrels.

Why do bounties punish condi specs?

here i’ll make this dungeon related. Why are most bounty bosses stronger than Zhaitan? In particular Half-baked Komali. Frog > Elder Dragon.

So that players can complete the story.

Storymode dungeons aren’t designed to be frustratingly hard. It is meant to be doable for a casual pick up group.

Explorable dungeon is where they messed up. They’re too easy for pick up groups.

I can never understand why people want Crossbows for Guardians.

auto-skip cinematics

Full zerker(I have knight leggings for little defense). GS and Axe/mace. Use a rifle at anti-melee situation.

This build is all about Damage. Mobs go down really quickly.

This build works great in a mostly melee party if you know what to dodge. You also need your party members to take damage or you will die.

Guild dungeon group

Dungeon groups with mostly guild members are the worst group to pug with. especially groups with 3 or 4 members of the same guild. I would rather play with fresh new players than to play with Guild Dungeon groups. Why? *They are kick-happy. *

In a few of my personal experience, I was in a group with four members of the same guild for Ac. They complained about how Kholer was hard. We wiped against Kholer one time. Then, they complained more. Frustrated, I said, “I agree, this group isn’t strong enough to beat Kholer.” Then, I got kicked instantly with no reply and no warning.

A second experience, One member was afking for a long time. It was really rude that this player was afking even when four players beaten the boss. It was really rude to afk this long. So I flagged him for a kick. Instead, I got kicked because they were all members of the same guild.

A third experience, which is not mine. We had two successful fractal run. At the third final boss, the host said, ‘Does everyone know the glitch/exploit?". The party member said, “No.” He got kicked after saying that. One of the party members that were in the same guild said, “What a prick.” I couldn’t say anything after that because I wanted my relics. The party did say that they wanted experienced members. But the guy that got kicked was experienced but didn’t know what the glitch was.

I could say something about how Guilds kicked players at the final boss so they can get players in, but I never experienced that. There are multiple players that experience this.

What if the experience above were completely all pugs?

  • Saying, “I agree, this group isn’t strong enough for Kholer” would get me a few scorns, but we would just skip straight to the next part.
  • Flagging the afk person would get that person kicked for good.
  • Saying “I don’t know what is the glitch,” will get that player a short explanation.
  • You would have to try really really hard to get yourself kicked.

Here is a tip for the community: Don’t join guild dungeon groups unless it is your own. If you accidentally did join one, you better leave as soon as possible. The reward is the same as joining a full pug group but the risk is higher.

If they gave a solo buff that was significant better, teams would find a way to 4 people join, take boss to 10 percent, leave, and split loot if it was something like 10g.

It does not matter if 4 people leave the party or the host kick all the party members. When that is done, the last person gets kicked out.

Sigh this match up is ridiculously boring. No one on AR or BP is a challenge.

Is that’s why you queue BP BL with 4 guilds every single day ?
I cant remember the last time me running in BP BL without watching 20+ PK

The pk guild usually travel to other Borderlands to do a karma/exp train. We like to level our alts too.

Shortbow and longbow

IMO, the 4th and 5th skill of both longbow and shortbow should be switched.

Shortbow felt more like a hunter/sniper weapon than a longbow.

Why?

When an enemy is running away, shortbow got poison volley which will decrease their healing. Cripple shot will slow them down. Concussion shot will stun them if they run away. A ranger with a shortbow can chase down an enemy more easily than a Ranger with a longbow. If an enemy runs away, you already won.

Longbow 4th and 5th skill doesn’t feel right on the longbow. It doesn’t feel very hunter-like and doesn’t have a role.

If switched, the skirmisher with the shortbow will hit the side with barrage to mass cripple. If someone gets too close, the skirmisher will create the distance with point blank shot and get away with quick shot. The skirmisher could also sneak up from behind and use point blank shot to displace him off the cliff. Hit and run, that would be the shortbow’s job.

Longbow will be a different story. An enemy runs away -> Hunter shoots with concussion shot on the Longbow, the hunter can stun him to stop him. This gives him time to shoot a cripple shot to slow him down, then use hunter shot and rapid fire(with quickness) to take him down. Longbow could also be a backline sniper weapon, you support your friends by hitting key targets. Hunting down targets would be the longbow’s job.

Then again, I am not speaking in the point of balancing weapons or anything like that. I would like these 4th and 5th skill switch so that the shortbow feels more like a skirmisher weapon and the longbow feels more like a hunter weapon.

Sure I can agree that it’s sometimes annoying when some1 use the 2:rd skill. However, just learn how to deal with each skill and you’ll be fine.
Guardian push back: Dodge it. (Stability is best though, you can still use finishing move)
Warriors Knock down; Dodge it. (Stability is best though, you can still use finishing move)
Mesmer TP/Clone: You can still easily see which is the right one, and which is the clone.
Necro Fear: Condition removal (Stability is best though, you can still use finishing move)
Thief Teleport: Just keep hitting him as normal (He will teleport eventually) , then just run over to him and keep mashing, continue to do this when he’ll go invis afterwards (Since he still take damage)
Engineer Grapple: Well if you’re in cqc, then just dodge, (Stability is best though, you can still use finishing move) if you’re at range, be happy, he just pulled you to him.
Ranger Daze: Dodge (Stability is best though, you can still use finishing move)
Elementalist mist form: kitten spell, specially since they got back to “full downed health” so unless you manage to kill them before they use it, all damage u made won’t matter.

So in conclusion. Use stability it’s “op”, kitten elementalist that spell is absurd.

  • I shouldn’t have to waste a 40 second cooldown or more stability just to stomp a foe that is inevitably going to die.
  • I shouldn’t have to waste stability on every single straggler that is going to get themselves killed.
  • I shouldn’t have to meet 30 guardians in 30 times but get knocked back every single time because they can annoy me.
  • I should be using stability to take down key targets in the heat of battle.

Nothing you said is going to make combat any fun or engaging.

  • Guardian knocking you back because they can is not fun or engaging.
  • Guardians knocking you back from a stomp and was able to get back up is fun and engaging.

IMO they are fine jus the way they are. ok the down player uses number 2 skill… he is now away from you, somehow (teleport, stealth, KB you etc…) if it didn’t by time for help then you just walk back up to them and kill them… where is the problem at? To me it is working how it is suppose to.

You listed the problem right there. It breaks the flow and makes the combat system unfun.

The punishing mechanic will cut down that and make combat more smooth than before. It will make players think if they should delay death for a few second more.

It will make Guardians use their knockback as a threat instead of making it a usual annoyance.

2nd downed skill

I understand now … so you don’t want people to try and buy time for help to arrive and prefer them to just lay there so you can spike them with no fight back. Stealth, Stability, Blind all help you counter most of those downed skills.

Wrong.

Players can still buy time. I suggested zero change on any of the 2nd downed skills themselves, such as 2nd down skill has a higher cast time or you have to wait 100 seconds before you can delay death again. But if they buy time and they still die, then they get punished. If players buy time and help arrives, then players don’t get punished. Simple as that. Buying time just for the sake of annoyance is noobish and unfun. Buying time because there is an opportunity to get back up, is, skillful. (Filter went wrong here somehow.)

Stealth, stability, blind do not help against Mesmers, Thieves, or elementalists.

All profession in general.

All profession’s 2nd down skill are death delaying skills. In WvW, every downed players I come across just spam it without meaning. Making combat more and more unpleasant.

If I encounter less death-delaying skills, Combat will feel more pleasant.

2nd downed skill

Whenever a player uses the 2nd down skill unskillfully and just for the sake of delaying death for a few seconds, it really annoys me and makes me want to side with players who want to remove down state from the game.

My suggestion: The 2nd down skill should punish you if you failed to get back up. This way, you have to use it when the time is right. If you just spam it, you will be punished.

  • sPvP/tPvP: adds x extra seconds on the respawn timer if you failed to get back up.
  • PvE/WvW: Not using the 2nd skill will give you a chance of not breaking armor. Using the 2nd down skill give you 100% chance of breaking armor.

To fix this problem, would be to have a tint of the Holy Trinity involved into dungeons, and NO I am not saying “Let’s go full holy trinity with tank, healer and dps”, but let there be a tint of fixed aggro mechanisms. Say a Guardian with Shield + 1H (with for example soldier runes and knight gear) would be aggro taker number 1.

I disagree.

What it needs is the control role to have more focus,.

Guild waypoints allows any member of the same guild to travel to that waypoint for free for 24 hours in non-instanced PvE area.

To set up a Guild Waypoint, you first must buy the upgrade with influence. Second, you have to choose an existing uncontested waypoint to set it up. This closes exploits such as setting up easy respawn next to the Guild Bounties or setting it up at the end of the Jumping puzzle for easy loot.

Why should this be implemented: It is easy for PvE guilds to play together. The huge possibilities of self-made guild events is opened.

Why you might not like this: Content bypassing. I will refute this by saying that it is already easy to bypass content. Just equip a 25% movement signet and don’t kill any mobs. Guild Waypoints removes the tedium of waiting for guildmates to come to the undiscovered location.

I’m tired of seeing Warriors chop up Engineers like Garen on steroids. Giving engineers a Minigun to keep them at bay would balance things out.

Warriors are voted the weakest sPvP class. If your engineer have trouble fighting warriors, I think you need to l2p.

What you say is utter nonsense, Warrior is capable of doing 13k damage in a single skill volley. the only other class capable of doing this is theif. and even then theif loses out to warrior. so i suggest you do research instead of posting some nonsense about how weak warrior is because it isn’t.

To do 13k in volley, you have to spec for it. That means sacrificing all toughness for offensive stats. Which means, anyone poking the warrior will kill him.

You also need the target to not dodge, and not move. Which won’t happen at all. Every Warrior sPvPer knows that rifle is a terrible weapon.

Well, there is pros and cons on inspect, but if there will be option to not allowing other players to do that will be great too.

Honestly, I have never seen anyone able to justify inspecting. And you’re not doing it either. Just to humor you: What makes you believe that in a pug, you wouldn’t be demanded to allow inspecting to join the party? And let’s be honest here, even if you’re packing full exotics, you still might get crap from people because you’re not “doing it right”, such as not having Berserker gear, or having MF items or having defense-oriented armor (Knight’s, Soldier’s, Giver’s).

And honestly, I don’t like the idea of inspecting even if it’s just skins. I think that the customization in the game is wonderful and not copying others’ styles is part of that. Honestly, if I ran into someone who used my exact skins with the same dyes or a similar dying logic, I would be pretty upset.

It is funny that you never had heard anyone justify it when you already said the reason yourself.

Duel arenas.. In-game gambling on 1v1 fights

Duels should be all in open world and be away from WvWvW/SPVP.

Perhaps you could enhance/clarify your argument with some reasoning behind it?

Anyways,
Open world dueling would present a couple of problems, mostly involving npc interference (with aoe attacks and targeting).. An arena in cities like lions arch and starter cities offers a place to test your 1 on 1 skills without any interferences. The duel arena would also be a fun place to go if even just to watch others duel and learn some pvp tricks.

That would be player’s fault.

If you don’t want interference. Don’t pick a place with enemies standing around.

Dueling in Arena-only will severely deprive my enjoyment. If there is a guild member that needs to afk for a while, I can duel with party members till he is back.

Cross-armor-class Transmutation

I understand everything you said, but the answer is Lore. An Elementalist studied the arcane arts, not to wear heavy armor. A mesmer is meant to be a dueler, think of fencing. Swords yes, but they don’t wear massive armor. IMHO I would love this option though, want a heavy shoulder piece on my norn.

Except, you never mentioned why they don’t wear heavy armor.

Hard to refute what you said when you didn’t state the reason why an elementalist or mesmer would not wear heavy armor.

Wanted: Trinket transmutation.

IMO, a transmutable trinket should cost around 40,000 karma each instead of having to use a T-Crystal.

This way, players that has plenty of karma to spend could go back into the world and design their trinkets.

No dungeons are hard at all.

At first, you may have difficulties. But as time go on, even the hardest boss is really easy.

Braham and Rox - I like one of them...

I don’t like either very much. That doesn’t mean I dislike them though, they are both okay except for the fact that Rox looks ugly, she is a disgrace to her prideful race. And of course she is rather generic right now, but maybe she will get more development later (and an in-lore explanation for her mutant eyes!)

Braham on the other hand doesn’t feel all that Norn-y to me yet. I know he is still young, but he behaves way to non-adventurous for my taste. I would expect a young Norn like him to be eager to proof himself, yet he is cautious and even asks for the Charrs’ assistance. That seems out of place for a a young Norn. I believe such a behaviour from Eir since she is old and experienced, Braham however isn’t.

I also hope we find out the reason why dredge and flame legion forged this alliance soon and I pray that it is better than “Hey you are evil! I am evil too, let’s be evil together! huehuehue”

Braham’s mission is to save his homestead not to prove himself.

What if Braham fails when he tackles the griffon? He loses his life.

What if Braham fails in saving Cragstead? Braham loses everyone he cared for. There is no shame in asking for help to save the people you care for.

i can see it as exploitable since you could put a waypoint just near a bounty hunt for easy respawn…
but would be nice to have it

What is the difference from that vs. linking the wp and leading players to the bounty?

Guild waypoints: At a cost of ‘x’ influence, the guild leader/officer can place a guild waypoint. All members of the guild have access to the guild waypoint and can use the waypoint for free. 24 hour duration. Non-instanced PvE-only areas.

Why:

  • Easier for members of the same guild to play with each other in PvE. Players and Players with alts can waypoint there and play with the guild. This will enhance gameplay.

But, content bypassing, blah blah blah

So what? It is easy to run across the world. Just put on the 25% movement speed signet and run across the world. That is content bypassing as well. There is no gating.
