Tbf It never registers with me which hand he uses on any of his attacks. I remember tells by visual familiarities. So asking me what foot he kicks with or what hand he swipes with would be a guess despite me having solo’d him a number of times.

I cant even imagine how it could possibly take 7 hours. Unless you were consistantly wiping on lupi or something and had the patience and perseverance of the gods.
Im guessing the rough crunch was with his eviscerate spam build. So you will be spamming killshots which would make rifle higher dps than longbow.
I love the vague claims about things with no explanation as to why. Classic guang.
Im struggling to see how rifle is better than longbow when the longbow auto attack seems to be stronger and arcing shot is faster and more powerful than rifles volley.

Necro brings lots condi removal and dark fields/blinds. All high cooldown though.
Theres no info about soloing alphard. Other than wethospu’s solo in which the boxes continuously respawn. I was able to learn lupi from watching videos and meleeing him in a group. Alphards attacks are completely negated by reflects in a group and theres no real danger compared to solo. I think its pretty understandable that people dont know how to solo alphard.
I dont get skins. And I dont care anymore. Sure I would like the sword for my mesmer but if I do fractals these days its just for relics for backpieces.
If this trait was in a different tree then I would probably use it. Also should be an adept again.
If you take blood fiend, shadow fiend, WoS, Signet of spite and flesh golem. Then yes they are fine.
Well you can revert it back so its no biggy. I quite like how much it cleans up the floaters particularly on power builds. Its easier to see how much condi damage im doing when aoe bursting with a beserker build.
Dub mostly does arah so thats probably why he says force + slaying. And the other 80 dungeons are Hotw and coe. CoE is easy and noone does hotw. So i guess arah is the standard lvl 80 dungeon that would make most sense to base things off.

Should start calculating team dps rather than class dps. And then we can simply test by making the composition fight a select meatshield boss and compare to the calculations.
How long does grenth last? Ive never timed it.
Staff is better than GS in dungeons. There are utility reasons for taking a staff.
Piercing attacks are awful. Most of the time they only hit 1 maybe 2 targets. But to reliably hit multiple targets you need to have mobs bunched up and you need to be close (partially because you dont want them to disperse). If you are close with GS then the auto is gonna be even more terrible. Atleast with staff you can just sit in the chaos storm and bounce that auto attack. Still ill just stick with my superior sword auto combined with iwarden.

I havent checked but im pretty sure I saw more than 14 ticks in the combat log more than a few times. Fiery rush hits around 68 times which is why its so op. GS whirls dont hit 14 times even against a wall, but Ill check that later to be sure.
Yeah its around 30mins probably down to around 25 without using the JP. Not sure anyone has the will to do a proper record run involving melandru though.
You should be able to remove the vuln from some of the builds without reducing the builds base dps. Doesnt matter about sigils and pots aslong as you use the same for everything. But for some builds you might use 2 1h weapons and have 2 modifier sigils. So you would have to take that into account. Its probably best to just leave sigils in so people dont have to go buy a weapon without a sigil.
Its a bit more than 5 times. And yeah its fairly strong. Im not entirely sure its worth the cast time though. It doesnt crit and its no where near as strong as fiery rush and bear form.
Need to control buffs really, otherwise we can just go back to killing vet giants in cursed shore xD.

Ive noticed most people seem to be crying about ele ever since they stopped becoming the dominant class in pvp. Wouldnt worry about subforum QQ tbh.

Terror feels more like a grandmaster than most of our actual grandmasters. Obviously it should probably be buffed back up if it is moved to GM.
Nothing of use to pve as usual. Mesmers however got a good buff which will affect the pve meta slightly. Warriors nerfed slightly so there will just be one build used in pve. Nice to see another pvp balance patch.
Amusing to see the very people described in that extract proving it to be correct.

Seeing as it prevents stealth and doesnt reveal them I can see it being useful to stop simin going invuln too early (if it works) or to troll bloody victoria.

Put 1 barrel on the rocks to the north of the pile of barrels. All the bandits should go for it and a get stuck. Then it should be easier for one person to run and get 2 barrels to the gate quickly. Could use thiefs shadowstep or sword 2 to teleport back faster.

To clarify this. That composition is better for dps. Not necessarily record runs. Other factors come into play like running sections. Mechanics where reflects or blocks might improve time will make mesmers and guards useful. Or stealth from a thief.
I believe the idea is to go 20/30/0/20/0 so you can spam eviscerates without losing your dmg modifier. If adrenaline regen is fast enough then you can go 25/25/0/20/0.
Kraitkin is necroish. And howler is sort of (feel its more necroey than bolt thats for sure).
Thats because in optimized settings there is nothing special necro provides. Is that so hard to believe? Necro is the class i have the most fun playing, doesnt mean its balanced for pve. Im not insulting the class im pointing out its faults and why its selfish. Being biased towards the class is blinding you people to try and find slight positive things about it and say its good. Ive pointed out all the “good things” the class provides can be done better with other classes so therefore necro isnt anything special.
Edit: Seeing as you want one positive thing about necro. Necros are the best class for condition pressure which unfortunately is bad in most pve content. However it is good for trash dredge in fractals due to the boons they stack.
Already mentioned this but if you know a certain trick the fastest way to kill jade maw is with a necro.

The difference is im not biased towards any class. And I play 5/8 classes in optimized groups with high levels of coordination.
But yeah it has turned into a badmouthing contest so I will stop because its pointless with how stubburn we forum posters are despite being shown logic. Ive been the same in the past.
I only use beserker but having to craft so many weapons for alts and doubling up on gs’s, axe’s and so on because I use undead sigils for arah and night sigils for other dungeons is kind of a pain. If only legendaries had the option to toggle sigils aswell as stats.
It does seem to most of the time. I try to avoid using it for kicks for that reason.
For the AoE on bushes, using wells you can clear them without dropping the weapon to hack the bots, saving time and forces, something that can not be done by a warr, for instance.
Sure, you can solo it, but a full team can surely do it faster…And again, mesmer and necros are different: they complete each other, so much in fact that while forming a party for CoE, I would pick 3 warr, 1 mes and a powernecro over 4 warr and a mes. The team can only benefit from it, or so I’ve experienced.
It is faster on mesmer to solo. The amount of golems that aggro and get stuck on bushes when everyone is in the room makes it go so slow. Mesmer can just run circles clearing bushes with phantasms and focus pull 4 golems into the husk at the same time. Its why I always switch to mesmer for p2. Heck if im not on my mesmer for p2 I still solo it because even with a gun its faster to run circles and chain channel them into the husk than it is when people screw up the channels and aggro golems.
Your experience with necro might be better than you playing warrior but that doesnt mean necro is better than warrior for coe. Id say thats an issue of you not being a very good warrior. But the truth is that if all buffs/banners are maxed by the group then replacing one of the warriors with a necro is a better choice if you use my necro build (does more single target dps than warrior when fully buffed). An even better replacement would be an ele, engi, thief, guard or ranger though (assuming the group is consisting of your warrior stacking + 1 mesmer). If I ever want boon control I will take a mesmer because its simply better. Necro boon removal is good in pvp/wvw, not in pve due to its bursty nature.

If you have bad lag then you kind of have to predict when he kicks and dodge early. Its fairly easy to tell when hes going to kick though. Occasionally you might dodge slightly too early and he will turn round and kick you but most of the time he will glitch and turn twice then kick where you dodged from. The biggest issue with predicting the kick is if he double or triple kicks.
Fastest way to kill maw is with a necro in the group.
The only place having a necro is really good is on jade maw. Using dark fields + projectile finishers to kill maw faster.
Correction. You tried to explain why you thought it wasnt the case. Doesnt mean you are right. If necros were better in certain situations they would be picked by the best guilds for records and such.
Power necro is ok in coe but its not better than a warrior unless all buffs are already accounted for. Also i facepalmed when you said use golem charge to push alpha into the wall. Charge is a knockdown and wont do that. Fear does work but if alpha has chill from the risen it wont go far enough. Better to let the mesmer/guard do the pull.
You didnt provide anything special in your example of how to run necro in coe. All things could of been done by another class or not done at all. And you could of done the important things you mentioned with dps utilities and weapons. The one thing that you pointed out that I agree with is good is well of corruption on the golem. But again its not needed. A mesmer more than covers the boons permanently and WoC only provides 6 seconds of boon clear combat. With that uptime in a pug it will barely scratch his hp. Best way to do husk is to get a mesmer to solo it, its much faster, no need to aoe the bushes when you can hit them about 3 times with dagger and they are gone.
They are inefficent and if you think tanking is an important part of pve then you really need to learn more about the game your playing. They arent taken in any speed records or fast groups because they have nothing worth taking. An underwater dungeon might change that but thats about the only place necro excels.
It’s so funny how there are always people blindly defending their profession against logic and reason as if it was an personal insult if someone states simple facts on the professions shortcomings.

I know. Baffles me how people can be so defensive. There is nothing wrong with admitting your favourite class is bad. My main is a necro but im not so blindly in love with the class that i will ignore its faults. I love playing my necro but I know its selfish and if I want to be helpful to a group I will take another class.
