I assume this is a comp built around epidemic. The idea has real potential on Sabetha at least. I cant convince people to make cond necros though.

However your comp doesn’t make sense. You lack a chrono and herald for quickness and 2 dragonhunters is overkill. You also want a Condi ele or warrior to help spread burn with epidemics.

lol when this gets patched, no one will bother with the fractal anymore, some dedicated will, but as most people couldn’t tank moss man at that level you will see maybe 1 or 2 parties, and they will take awhile to fill, this is about balance and Anet have to see the problem,

Moss Man, and the Vet Wolves hit hard at higher levels, so hard they could down you in 1 or 2 hits, oh but wait I can dodge the attack, WHAM I just lost all boons that where protecting me, and now here comes a random condition followed by oh look im dead.

People will always find the fastest, easiest way to do content, and the current way is the fastest and easiest, that should tell Anet that something is wrong, and people are not enjoying the level so are using a work around to beat it……

Pretty sure you haven’t touched high level fractals without the pole since the patch. Seeing as everything hits like a wet noodle now. They nerfed mob/boss damage into the ground.

Or they sucked at avoiding non-environmental damage and the healer was breaking his back in an attempt to compensate, overhealing and getting stuck in CA while he shouldn’t so he doesn’t have it ready for when he SHOULD heal.

The fact that you only noticed it now is probably an indication that your healer started slacking or something.

That pole makes literally no sense. Its slower and makes an easy fight awkward. I assumed the only reason was to avoid random Condi instability. Even then its stupid as it doesn’t work completely and people use it on other instabilities.

Thankfully people don’t use it below 50.

It doesnt need “fixing”. But i agree with these suggestions except for increasing focus 4 projectile velocity. Thats fast enough already. Any faster and you wont be able to cast at range and get the bounces to proc as you run up to the foe.

And focus 5 definitely needs cast time reduction. Having it as a small aoe would be a nice bonus. Its definitely not an “or” situation. It should be reduced cast and aoe or just reduced cast.

Yeah if anything i was surprised they decided to hit alacrity instead of quickness.

Alacrity needs to become a true boon though. That will be some small compensation for the nerf.

Well in terms of coeff per second. Axe is 0.81 and scepter is 0.5. So yeah the condi’s can easily make up the difference.

Just had a mysterious gold fractal shield appear in my inventory after doing my dailies before opening my chests. I noticed it in my exotic bag. Since i only do page dailies usually i find it hard to believe i got it on a previous day and didnt notice. Can anyone confirm they do come from the page daily chests sometimes or boss chests? I havent done 50+ dailies for over a month either. No idea where it came from x)

Wouldnt really consider condition reaper rotation fun but meh. GS + d/f reaper rotation is fun above 50% health.

Reapers/necros are much better than they were before. Damage is better. Utility is better. Their self sufficiency is also way better. Which makes them very good pug classes.

The only thing holding them back is a lack of a truly important unique role. And a bit of a damage insufficiency.

Condi reaper is only really good damage when you can effectively abuse jagged horrors (So Sabetha only). Everywhere else its decent but quite a bit weaker than other condi classes. Although this could change if people start actually creating more condi necros and start abusing epidemic on adds. Unfortunately it seems quite difficult to convince people to play necro, let alone create a condi set for one.

Power reaper simply suffers from poor skill balancing which holds it back from being top tier dps. Ele has multi hit aoes compared to reapers pulse aoes. And skills like Gravedigger have huge aftercasts which prevents them from taking the lead. Also a lack of trait modifiers doesnt help.

Classes that rely on auto attacks the least will be hit hardest by the alacrity nerf. Thats quite clearly warrior on both phalanx and condi.

Except high cooldown boonhate is inferior. Mesmers have had boon strip on sword auto since the beginning. Now that raids and certain fractal instabilities have constant boons you need regular boon hate. Mesmer has been filling that role perfectly while necro has been rather bad at it. Necro is majorly inferior to mesmer currently when it comes to dealing with boons. Corrupt is only slightly better than strip. But frequent is far superior to infrequent.

This was a good change. I was kind of hoping for it on greatsword, dagger or reaper shroud auto though. When Karl said we were going to get more boonhate. My ears perked up with anticipation. And then he announced it on scepter auto and i was a little disappointed.

I got the impression they forgot to mention a few preview notes they were planning to reveal.

Corrupt boon is interesting because it can potentially become the new second best dps option for pve condi necros when using master of corruption and transfers.

If you only do dailies and buy discounted keys you will always have more keys than boxes. It would be a waste not to buy the keys each day since you still get a profit even from buying the discount key + box.

Even with perma uptime its not that strong in PvE. And the investments to reach decent levels of uptime take some serious sacrifices. Im sure its decentish in PvP. But im not convinced a bit of a buff would make it op. Especially considering the condi pressure other classes can bring in other ways.

Terror is in a similar situation. Its PvP only trait. But its not even that strong in PvP.

1. But not all discounted keys. Just the first 30. Ive been buying the keys daily and doing only page dailies. Everytime i get to about 100 keys i buy encryption boxes and end up with a reasonable profit. Although encryption boxes were over 20 silver today. So they are becoming a little less profitable.

Page dailies and raids are the only things i do ingame currently. I literally log in to do page dailies, craft/gather home instance and buy 30 keys then log off. Open encryptions every few days for some easy income. And raids once or twice a week.

Eh… I actually like the idea of leaderboards for the same reason I surprisingly liked the GRift leaderboards in D3. I think they’re a good idea and I think they’ll add longevity to the gameplay (I could see myself competing with other groups within my own guild to see who can beat things the fastest).

What I don’t want is for them to delay the legendary any further because of leaderboards, nor do I want leaderboards to be eating into time they’d be spending on new fractals. If the leaderboards are their own team of people, fine, but not at the expense of new Fractal content.

Your second paragraph is kind of why i voted no. I dont really think they should be linked. And i dont care either way if we get them or not.

Got a lot of minis and the dagger, shield and amulet in the first few weeks. Last 6 weeks I’ve only gotten exotics and a 2nd gorseval mini on Monday.

There’s no reason not to salvage anyway. Skin gets unlocked and you get 1 relic. Which is better than none.

Don’t remember clearly. But getting to level 100 gives you the final achieve chest which lets you choose a gold weapon. I picked sword.

You are still failing to understand my point. I’m not saying scrap arena mechanics. I’m saying they shouldn’t be the primary focus. We haven’t seen a high boss focus fight with lots of arena mechanics yet. We’ve only seen arena fights with very simple bosses. Gorseval is the closest we got to boss focus because the arena mechanics are less frequent and less essential to deal with perfectly. But his problem is he is too predictable and he still doesn’t have enough mechanics/skills. So players like you don’t enjoy him as much because it feels like less is going on.

I’m perfectly fine with more arena mechanic heavy fights like Sabetha. So long as the boss actually does things to keep you focused on it. With Sabetha and VG you can literally ignore the bosses and divert all concentration to the arena. That’s silly. Its the reason so many prefer Gorseval and the reason the bosses aren’t as challenging as they could/should be. Arena mechanics are always going to be predictable. Boss mechanics can be less so.

You didnt read the rest of my post. I said Gorseval style mechanics should be expanded upon. To the point where there is a significant amount so that it feels mechanic heavy. They can be as punishing as eggs where if you dont all avoid them the group is very likely to fail or as simple as a few extra dangerous attacks that the entire group needs to deal with. Not just the tank. The point is keeping attention primarily on the boss, arena should almost always be secondary or at best even. Sabetha and VG are the reverse.

The key point is the mechanics can come from the boss. And they can be in the form of skills and breakbar abilities. They dont need to be arena based which takes focus away from the enemy you are fighting. Obviously some arena stuff is necessary to create a bit of arena movement. Gorseval does this well, its not too extreme with arena mechanics and its fight mechanics are really good. There just arent enough of them to make it feel more mechanical than the other bosses.

But like i said that style should be expanded on to improve it. Because its a lot more engaging and fun long term. So long as its implemented right and creates enough challenge im confident you will all be saying its more fun than arena fights.

Id be surprised if they dont touch scorched earth. They were being even more vague on warrior than the rest so i wouldnt make any assumptions at this stage.

Im concerned slightly about “damage buffs” on ele though. Though i suppose it depends what form they provide those buffs. So it might be ok.

GS auto is fine. It deals the same dps as dagger auto. I mean they could speed it up and nerf the damage. That would make it slightly better but keep it in line with dagger. And i would support that because it would help with rotation fluidity and chill uptime.

If anything needs a buff its gravedigger and our other burst skills like exec scythe, soul spiral etc.

I have a problem with all this support for making fights as mechanical as possible. VG and Sabetha both have a lot of mechanics to deal with. And as a result it feels less like you are fighting the boss and more like you are fighting the mechanics/arena. I dont find that fun.

On the other hand Gorseval is much more about the boss itself. Its a lot more fun. But as a result its easier once you get the dps check and basic mechanics sorted. The thing is that style can be really good if its expanded on. The eggs on gorseval are an attention and skill check. its a simple yet punishing mechanic. But it doesnt take focus away from the boss like VG lightning and Sabetha cannons do. Add more mechanics like that and you can create really challenging fights without taking focus away from the bosses.

I want to see more fights like Gorseval that have reactionary mechanics. A few arena mechanics is fine. But i think they should be more side focused and more about making it easier for yourself if you deal with them more effectively. Like Gorse orbs and add clearing. Neither of those are absolutely essential to deal with perfectly. But there are reasons to ignore or focus on those mechanics given the situation. The updraft stuff is fine as well simply because its not a constant mechanic. Its a few times per fight which makes it less tedious.

Signet of Souls

Passive: Gain 1% life force on hit. Lifeforce gained when at 100% heals you.

Active: Cast a Shadow/Soul Storm at the target location which deals AoE damage and applies Torment on hit. (Number of Impacts: 24, Number of Targets: 3, Damage: 1.2 per impact, Impact radius: 120, Area radius: 240, Torment: 4 seconds per hit). Cast 1 second, range 900, duration 6 seconds and cool down of 45 seconds.

The idea is to give as a competative AoE skill which competes with skills like Meteor Shower, Glyph of Storms and Ice Storm. Would actually majorly improve our PvE dps problem on power builds as well. Not really sure about the passive. Open to other suggestions.

Id say the main reason for no motivation is because people are only focused on raids now. And maybe fractals will make a comeback when we get some new ones.

Pretty sure commander gear doesnt make up 50% boon duration. And last i checked you dont count each class utility separately. Its the combo of useful things rev brings that will keep it in the meta…

The auto needs a nerf. Don’t really care if it gets compensated elsewhere or not as rev utility is good enough to keep it in the meta.

Well since going scrapper is a waste id say Reaper is the better choice. If you want to tank on engi you dont need to go scrapper.

Increased range and lower cast time would be my suggestions.

I also suggested a short 300-420 range dash a while back. Still think thats perfectly fine now as its not much distance to be significant. But nice none the less.

It doesn’t overwrite. But it queues the stacks up to the 5 stack cap. If you are applying chill more frequently than your teammates you should rarely notice down time if at all.

Erm revenant weapon skills still have cooldowns. The design flaw stems from a far too significant portion of the damage being on auto attack.

I dont have a problem with the way the class is designed. I have a problem with its results from completely passive play. Its imbalanced.

Also before people were stacking burn warriors. They were stacking heralds for dps.

Im not saying its hard to pull off max dps on other classes. But there are certainly huge losses from dodging at the wrong time etc etc on all classes except for revenant. Thats the key difference.

Im not fine with its damage in its current form. There has to be some skill requirement or catch to high dps. Even eles and warriors have that catch going on. If they interrupt or miss their big attacks/channels they suffer huge dps losses. Revenant doesnt because its the auto attack that is so strong and its other big hit attacks are almost instant to top it off. There is almost no chance for poor execution which causes major dps loss on revenant. At least not compared to the level on other classes.

Its a slightly different problem to the other classes. But its still a major imbalance. Id be happy with either an overall slight damage nerf or a major change to make rev damage much more rotational and skill orientated. Seeing as a general nerf is easier and the class will stay in the meta due to boon duration while also still retaining high safe dps. I dont really see that as such an unthinkable change. For the sake of balance all problems should be addressed. Not just the absolute 1 or 2 worst offenders….
