Killing off 3 classes is NOT okay. The fact that you people don’t see that is just sad, its literally like i’m talking to a wall. If Anet feels the meta is too stale and boring, they can shake it up in a manner that does not kill 1/3 of the classes in the game. That is poor balance.

I’m out, there’s no reasoning with people that just never understood the meta because they are too busy in bronze running full traps, or dps eles.

Edit: A good example of shaking up the meta would if it is too boring would be:
Nerf power rev, buff condi rev.
Nerf meditrapper, buff bunker guard.
Nerf 1v1 warrior, buff other stuff and make it a teamfighter or w/e.

This community should not accept them killing off 3 classes just like that because they felt like it, thats stupid. Maybe you like this patch because it wasn’t your class, but next time it might be.

What about the classes that were dead because of those three? Me me me thats all I see here. There is nothing more annoying then people that play the strongest builds and then when they get whacked finally they run around like chicken little yelling the sky is falling. There will never be total balance. If you spend a long time at the top be prepared to spend some time on the bottom. Thats the way it works. Nerfs to Warrior and DH 100% acceptable and needed. Im still not convinced they still arent as good as most other classes. Really most of the classes are totally mediocre right now.

You people kill me most of the best builds were power last season. They make revs stronger using conditions and its OMG CONDS ARE OUT OF CONTROL. The Warrior and DH gravy train is over deal with it. This patch was mostly nerfs for just about everyone. And balance mostly involves nerfs. When you just keep boosting everything on everyone thats the worst thing you can do in general.

DH deserves it because its a garbage low skill cap build and always has been and always will be and it doesnt fit with the original class theme at all. I wish they would put diminishing returns on traps of the same type being thrown in succession to kill it off even more. I just with they would make meaningful positive changes to base guardian so I could play my guardian again. The buffs to signets are a joke. Nice renewed focus nerf not.

Most 1v1 already take 1 min or less. When it doesn’t its generally because one of the participants, if not both, is built to be able to stalemate a 1v1 indefinitely. That or bad play.

Lol this is just piling on at this point. The proof is in the pudding even the people that still defend the decision have to admit that the spvp playing population has plummeted from season 4 to now. There are more reasons then just not allowing groups but it was a gigantic mistake to take that option away. The dumbest thing ive ever seen really. It was awful pandering to the worst players and it ended up biting them in the butt.

Season 6 Conclusion is... Frustration.

Season 2 and 3 did have the best matchmaking or at least the matchmaking that made the most sense. Nothing enrages people more then being forced to play with people that are more then a tiny bit worse then they are. They’ll never go back to it though because of the bads that were losing like 20 or 30 games in a row under that system because there teammates were other equally bad people. Also, without pips not sure how you could do it. Seasons 2 and 3 I believe was where you were grouped with people right at your MMR level and faced whoever was + or – within a certain pip range in the queue. I guess instead of pips they could look at MMR range. I’m guessing queues would increase but I could live with that. And yes they do need a report system so players can police themselves like in LoL and Overwatch. They don’t have the guts to do that either. They would tell you it would get abused even though there is no evidence its abused in those other games. Those self policing tools are powerful incentives for people to try 100% at all times and more importantly to want to learn how to play the game correctly. You want to keep going to far point five times straight in a game and lose every time and kill your team I hope you enjoy the mini ban that is coming down the pike for you if we had those tools.

Compared to an ideally played necro? Sometimes it feels like you are talking out of your behind just a little bit. Helseth has zero problems killing just about anyone as well. Mesmer is one of the strongest classes when played well.

Its not really the build its how stupid people are. One good player should be able to stalemate Maygi indefinitely while holding the point and eventually kill or chase him away. If some idiot is there being useless tell him to go and explain in chat when you get some time what to do from then on in the match when the situation arises.

It might not be as extreme as this but most players but the worst of the worst are seeing stuff like this happen. The player base is too small and the gap in skill level between players in a given match can be huge. And the game is going to expect you to carry these bads and when you do you will be rewarded minimally and when you can’t carry and lose your going to get wtfpwned with a much large rating loss.

The inital post was a bit hyperbolic but really Warriors need to be nerfed its a joke they weren’t last balance patch. They have way too much sustain to go along with tons of crowd control and good damage. I refuse to play my condi Necro again in spvp until something is done. I’m not going to spend all my time in spvp running from a class I can barely effect with my main damage source and who can chain cc me and kill me easily over and over again.

Particularly if you play spvp although according to some people play specs that have been around for a year plus and you’ll pwn apparently. All I know about Necro is spvp and right now there is no reason to play them in that game mode. Zero.

Class stacking is mainly the result of most people playing what are percieved (rightly or wrongly) as the strongest classes. Stuff like class dailies are a part of it but not the driver. When I play its the same classes that are stacked most of the time namely DH and Warrior. Those are the most popular stacks followed by thief.

This kinda update should happen after season – not in the middle of season. If works bad or it buged it will ruin many people’s raiting. Anet shouldn’t experiment on players when season is on.

You are defending the integrity of a system that has no integrity. And during seasons is when they should experiment as people play even less in the off season. If they have something they think is a good addition they should just put it in as soon as possible as far as I am concerned.

All I have to say. Is if you are looking to be able to counter build mid match. You are playing the wrong game.

GW2 and it’s community is highly against allowing players to counter their enemies builds. Therefor it puts abunch of systems and mechanics in place to prevent counter building.

What we are against is some moron who thinks they play 7 classes well when in fact they play one half decently and 6 others awfully. So even though in theory class A counters class B some dope is so bad at class A he would have been better off playing class C which he queued with and is much better at even if it worse against class B all things being equal. Games like Lol are a bad comparsion its played by like 1000x more people and there are 1000x more high level players that play multiple classes really well. League of Legends also has class specific MMR. At least compare apples to apples. I know you think you are saving the day when you switch to a class you are only 80-90% as good on as your best class to counter comp but your not.

Bad matchmaking and refusal to balance classes in a timely manner. They made almost no balance changes after season 5. So good to know this game is so balanced after all the time.

To late for all of that imo. And what killed spvp goes far beyond expansion elite specs. The systems all still suck after years. Leagues still stink, matchmaking still stinks, and rewards still stink. And balance also stinks. See the common thread here? The actual base game play is still very fun but not enough to overcome all the other bs.

PVP has been dieing for a long time especially in NA. Remember last season probably 1/4 to 1/3 of the NA accounts in the top 250 were alt accounts of higher MMR players those were not close to 250 individual players. Not sure the leaderboard would have looked much different last season in NA minus the bogus accounts with the newer decay requirements. The player base has been small for a long time.

I don’t play Necro anymore in spvp its not worth the headache. Against good players you will get singled out fast and killed quickly most of the time regardless of build condi, power, condi/power hybrid, or tanky. Sure you can win with them sometimes but a lot of it will just be personal twitch skill and getting lucky with matchups. So yeah if you one of the top 5-10% of mechanically sound players go ahead. Everyone else I would say play something else.

Must just be golds and lower but I’m having a lot of success with Ghost thief…. Getting 17/0 most games and easily keeping 2-3 on a point, even had someone tell me to take my trash build back to WvW and stop ruining PvP lol

They must be dumb because one person could deal with you keeping the point there color indefinitely since your mostly stealthed not sure why three people would worry about you. Also powerful aoe doesnt need to see you to kitten you. Sounds like something that works against bads. Is this really a thing I played about 40 games this weekend I didn’t see it once I am far from a pro was mostly in the 1550 range MMR wise for most of the games. (sometimes a little lower or higher).

How about showing the ratings without the players names. Christ there are ways around this. It would be useful information period. Just have a tab it would list the five ratings on both teams without names. Some of you are such awful anet white knighters it kills me. More info = good. They know this they are not doing it because they dont want it to be so easy expose there match making.

You guys voted against class specific mmr and locking in the poll and I belive you were one of the no’s falselights. So this is what we get. I would be for class locking class specific mmr AND longer queue if it made for better matches. This system right now unless you one of the top 5%10% of twitch players you have no chance because you have to carry like half of the games to get above about 1600 MMR solo because of the matchmaking. Half of my losses I win like 80% of my fights and thats not good enough I have to win 100% and the occassional 2v1 and 3v2 to carry because I get teammates that are like your kittened little brother cant do anything on there own. I have to be there to wipe there hinies or they get wtfpwnd in seconds.

Corrupt boons and avoid stuns.

Um no. As every boon you corrupt will just get cleansed shortly. You can’t really avoid the stuns either as Warriors are faster and have better movement skills. They will eventually catch you, bait out your dodges, and get you with one of serveral stuns or dazes and its all over. You can’t beat a warrior that is the same skill level as you the end. People just need to admit it. If the Warrior player is anywhere near as good as you will not beat him 1v1 on a Necro ever. My advice is to stay away from 1v1 on Necro. Chase all the team fights target the Warrior last as the conditions are just not effective against them.

This is a legit question, not a cry for nerf or w/e.

What beats a condi war? So far I’ve found nothing to win 1v1 and they take too long to 2v1 for it to be worth it. So outside of giving it the old turret engi treatment of letting them have your point for free and play 5v4 on two nodes, what other options are there?

They absolutly shred through Druids and Scrappers. Tried DH, it’s somewhat viable but still feel like it loses pretty hard.

Power Warrior and its superior to condi warrior in every way.

Simply no…let’s not give new tools to abuse for trolls and unstable people. We know how seasons 1-4 looked like.

I disagree it would be a good sanity check. People already act nasty based on what they see in a match anyway it can’t get much worse. Not showing it takes away some incentive for A-net to do a better job also the player base might be able to find bugs with the matchmaking if the results are not what A-net expects and its pointed out to them. They won’t do it though and use what you are saying as an excuse but I believe the real reason is they don’t want us to see the very large MMR spreads that are in many matches together. I will always be for more not less knowledge for the player. The answer to what you are so afraid of is called the block feature or maybe not getting bent out of shape by what someone says. Both work surprisingly well.

Its easy to understand that he only plays ,when his girlfriend is online.
There should be just solo q , or soloq and duo q , not the 2 in the same que.
The rating shoud be from solo play.
But some only duo que.
Anyway, anet will understand this , they just need time.

Maybe you should start making friends instead of expanding our blocklists.

Good change, but a theorethical leaderboard that ignores decay and played games would be neat for visibilty.

Don’t conflate one individual player’s skill with a class being fine. There is individual skill in this game. If someone’s twitch skills and decision making is better then 99% of the player base they can still play something weaker and win a lot. For the vast majority of players playing a Revenant is not very viable and you see it in the number of Revenants which is not many.

Season six is better if even just because of the better decay system and the banning they did at the end of season six appears to have cleaned up a lot of the shennanigans. In North America there was so much fishy nonsense going on in season 5 the leaderboard looks much better so far. Most of the bot accounts are gone plenty of regular joe type players in the top 250 not someones third alt account.

We were winning approximately 375-250 and had one cap and one netural. The other team decides to rush our lord with 2 our entire team but me pulls off the points to stop the lord rush and we end up getting triple capped and since they were tank heavy we were never able to totally reverse it and lost. Why wouldnt you just keep fighitng normally by the time they could kill it you would probably have a triple cap or very close and have your score very close to 500. The other team would have around 400 at most. Or at least just send a token one guy or two to stop it. Its annoying to lose these games because people cant make freaking decisions and panic. And they act like your the crazy one for not getting all bent out of shape over 150 points when you have a 200 point lead and points capped. Thats why I hate that stupid map for mostly solo queue there is little coordiantion and a couple clowns panicking can does cost you games.

Things I don’t like about this is you actually lose a fair amount of damage for imo a marginal increase in 1v1 cability and condi cover for burns. I know a lot of people dont run it b ut I personally really like purging flames you catch a few people in it in team fight and it hurst. Also good by free 35% crit and lower torch cooldowns and lower burn damage. I really dont see the Burn Guardian as 1v1 anyway its burst condi damage when you can catch people at the right time. Its almost a for kittens and giggles build not to take too seriously to do high damage with the perfect burn bomb with the right timing. It actually works best in team fights with other peoples conditions to help cover. Most of the top side point duelers arent going to care that sometimes you can stack 3 or 4 conditions on them they’ll cleanse them fast especially warrior. Thats who you will get in a side point duel like 50% of the time and you’ll never beat them if they are the same skill level as you are.

Not this again. There arw 1 or 2(at most) meta builds for every class you should be able to look at what the other team has at start up and change up based on that if you really feel the need to change. I can honestly say people switching out a minute or two into the game based on the other teams comp I never saw that happen in the past. I mean never. Apparently that happened all the time according to people like you. And no A-net has never ever officially endorsed the idea of counter comping. The fact that counter comping exists shows you how badly A-net has failed. A-net billed this game as bring whatever you want type game.

They don’t care. They want to inflict time sinks on you in pursuit of some wierd idea of fairness. My idea of the perfect MMORPG is time x in one mode = time x in another mode in order to accomplish anything in game. They are afraid of that idea for some reason. They’ll let you accomplish something useful in one game mode for another game mode but it has to take way longer.

A lot of those games were close (and any game where you score at least 350 is close imo this game mode has a snowball effect) don’t get down on yourself. When games are that close they could have easily gone the other way. You had three losses by less then 75. Most players are average. Relax and keep playing you will win more soon.

The matchmaking has always been like this and will always be like this. Its a game mode that leads to snow balling and the player base it not big enough to have many games where all ten player are in a really tight MMR range. All it takes is one side having a weak link or two and the game will be trash.

You don’t lose any rating in placements or real games if you have a DC > 2 min though.

But also, they’re scaling the leaderboards this season so the longer the season is, the more games needed to place on there. Pretty sure they said something like 100 games which totally makes your complaints a non issue as they’d both have to play that many games anyway.

Stop making excuses for them. True Disconnects shouldn’t count toward your rating. There is no reason for them too. 100 games is nothing. Two players playing 100 games could have widely different ratings based soley on disconnects losing ratings say at 12-15 a pop. If one player had even 5 more disconnects that like 75 rating difference that could cost you 50 spots in the rankings. It could be the difference between high gold and low platinum it may not matter to you but it matters to some people. Stop rationalizing everything away. Its a trait of a doormat that settles for anything quite frankly. They definitely changed something even someone diconnecting for half the match now costs you rating. Basically they need to reduce the luck factor wherever possible. Well this is luck some people benefitting from others mistortunes basically. It should even out but not over 100 games necessarily. It would be one thing if the threshold was 200-300 games but at 100 games some luck can easily come into play based on this stupid disconnect change.

Give me a break what a load. So we are supposed to believe you log out in the middle of matches to change classes based on what you think people are running after watching them play a bit? First of all to do that you would be putting your team at a -1 for upwards of 30-40 seconds. Seriously professions are not “locked” almost every class has only a couple viable builds if that. You have plenty of time at the start of the match to see what the other team is running and change if you feel like you need to. There are good reasons why they made this change.

The class locking vote was a debacle. A bunch of elitist that think they play a million classes at the same skill level and save the day by counter comping screwed the pooch. That and a bunch of ill informed players that went along with there specious reasoning/fear campaign. Democracy at its worst.
