oh, i love skyhammer. i just hate the players on it.

it reminds me so much of super mario smash brothers

first off, I personally cannot understand the need for some sort of restricted access at all. like it has been stated over and over: you can already go to the mists and get free bank+tp access by using the LA portal. you can also go to the borderlands, that’s also free, although sometimes there’s a queue, but then again, you can walk up to the nearest asura gate and go to any city you want - also free of charge.
so there are numerous ways to get to free and easy bank+tp access. putting a bank+tp station in HotM wouldn’t do any pve’er any additional favors. it would just give them one more way to access these features free of charge.

secondly: The same principle of getting free bank access goes for PvP’ers. just press "leave the mists" and kablam, you’re in the grove, doing grovey (yes, bad pun intended) stuff with your bank clerk. you don’t have to go to LA and suffer endless loading screens and bad city design (although it’s gotten waaaaay better since the destruction and reconstruction, kudos for that).

thirdly: i don’t understand the need for a bank in pvp at all. just buy some 18 slot bags for 2g or sth like that and you’re set for ages. unless of course you want to arrange a mosaic with all the "2 blues and a green" rewards you’re getting of pvp. it takes ages to complete a stack of level up tomes and skill rolls. the occasional exo being rewarded is actually not interesting, when you think of 20+4*18 inventory slots you can easily obtain by investing close to nothing and less.

summarizing: the bank in pvp land would be nothing more than convenience and a nice bonus for EVERY player who hangs out with us pvp guys. it’s not essential and therefore should be free of charge, ungated and acessible to everyone.
you could consider it a "thank you, pvp-players, for supporting us for so long, even though we tend to neglect you from time to time and haven’t gotten any new content and game modes out. also, we love you and we want to show you that we do in fact care!"-gift.

and, last but not least, i ask you to consider one thing: who in their right set of mind would use a bank that costs silver, tokens or anything, if you can get it for free around the corner?

i just said it to my guildmates yesterday: we need huge jumping puzzles implemented in pvp arenas to make use of the waiting time.

plus: SAB pvp would be awesome! and balanced :P

confirmed not only yesterday on a regular basis. 5 sec simultaneous lags for all players on the map plus the occasional DC. occurred in tQ and sQ. don’t play hotjoin, so no idea if it’s there.

heals for ~3k on attunement switch, 300 per tick on water attunement, 400 per regen tick, 200 per restoration tick, ~6k on cleansing wave, does absolutely no damage, is tanky as kitten and therefore can be called the only true healer in this game.

plus, it’s completely useless in pvp

it’s not exactly top news that pvp-rewards kinda do suck. but i recently thought, why not illustrate to elaborate.

so i created a toon to fill a reward track (CM) all by himself. i only played teamqueue and a few unranked 1v1s on our arena, so the total playing time is actually a bit too high.

ps: i’m not here to kitten about pvp rewards. i actually don’t care about them at all, although it would be nice to get some pvp-only skins (tribal reward track, for example)

fellow players, i’m a bit at loss here.

i’m mainly playing pvp these days and i’m experiencing some strange target switches, which are, to be honest, quite confusing from time to time. for example, i main an elementalist and me and my guildmates are dueling in our arena. while fighting my mates ranger, i got him locked in as target, lightning whip away, he dodges back and i hit his pet instead of him. i want to close the gap using RTL and suddenly, my ele rushes towards the pet, which, all of a sudden, is the current target. i never switched targets, i didn’t press tab, all i did was pressing 1 for lightning whip.

there are many examples for this phenomenon and i tried pretty much every setting available, i don’t know what’s causing these target switches.

any ideas how to solve this??

whenever i see perplexity, i have to laugh, because, as a main pvp player, have never encountered this rune in battle. i think it’s self explanatory, why anet didn’t put it in pvp

i guess, if you wanted to construct the focus as a condition based mh, it would probably be quite similar to scepter fire 1 with low to none physical damage at all, but providing permanent condi pressure on all attunements. CCs would be a bit much on autoattack, i guess

something i could imagine, with a base range of 600 for attack skills:

fire: slow moving fiery orb that hits for a aoe burn with a 180 radius

water: close ranged, healing blasts, nothing special. would be strange to see water aa to be useful. :P

air: very slow, three staged attack with vuln/blind at the final attack, quite similar to thunderclap on LH, only slower

earth: i can’t imagine anything better suited for focus main hand than the skills from earth shield 1-3. they provide decent condition and soft cc in autoattack, paired with survival. overall would be my main aa on f/f

interesting topic though. why should the focus be forever doomed to be an offhand weapon and which class would be better suited to use it as mainhand than the elementalist? i say, go for it, anet! give us a viable condition spec.

ask one of your guildmates to record the fight from the gangway up above and analyse your movementpattern. i did the same with one of mine and suddenly he realised, it wasn’t at all buggy, just a kitten to see

CSE: We can’t stop Zerging (nor are we looking to do so), but if we can give players effective counters and, even more importantly, keep it from being or seeming the best way to succeed in Camelot Unchained, that will go a long way in this direction.

@Gankatron – Some forms of CC have already been discussed and one of my stated goals is to make zerging the less attractive way to succeed. Many players love to min/max their playing time by finding the shortest route to success. If zerging isn’t that, many players will go a different route. I know we can’t eliminate zerging entirely but if we make it less attractive we should have enough of a balance between play styles that things will work out fine.

with that, i’m finally and - once and for all - turning my back on guild wars 2 WvW and maybe gw2 entirely. i’d rather wait for a Camelot Unchained beta access and pay a kittenload of money (~280$) for it, than to get kittened every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year of every decade of every century by a bunch of dev’s who forgot what MMO-gaming is all about.
So, may you all have fun in pointless bullkitten, ever repeating golem rushes and "sneak" attacks on keeps with no repercussions for losing a keep or fortress or who cares what. if i want to play WvW, in the future, i’ll roll a warrior and place a monkey in front of my keyboard and watch him eat a banana and fap. it’ll be more fun and definitely more interesting and rewarding, whilst maximizing my chances to win a 1v1 situation, than playing e.g an elementalist for myself.
It tells its own tale that Mythic Entertainment managed to balance 44 unmirrored professions with 40 skills (per profession) and ~30 realm abilities over 3 realms in DAoC, whilst YOU ARE NOT EVEN ABLE TO BALANCE 8 PROFESSIONS, of which 2 of every armor class are mirrored. Shame on you!
You are not even able to keep up with yourselves, balancing Guild Wars 1 PvP with four times as many skills .

Or the fact that after almost 1,5 years, you were not even able to provide more than ONE! LOUSY! STINKING! gamemode in PVP - What the hell?

OT: I really like the general direction the LS is heading. Although I enjoyed it from day 1, there were times I was a bit lost and confused about where all this was heading. Finally, with Scarlet appearing, all of it started to make sense and by now I am totally stoked to see what my favourite MMO-supervillain is up to next!

Also, the cinematics! Kee ’em coming lads! I know that time was limited before release, but i was quite dissappointed about all the dungeon-cinematics. I really love the action-cutscenes.

i have to admit, the matchup was interesting. all weeks against deso are very intense. great guilds there. also on gandara. although we will probably lose the first round due to uncoordinated, massive pug overflow and 2-3 hours long queues to even get on homeborder, the few times me and my guild were actually able to get on were fun and intense.

kudos go out to the brain-afk gandara army in desos t3 bay. i really thought you guys wanted to reset the WP, so we decided to lend you a hand with our catapults :-D

Guess nobody told that the 60man+ AM group that borderjumps until at least 3 am in the morning. It seems to be some sort of Karma- and WXP-train but still…pretending to not have any sort of night force like that is kinda funny.

please remember, that this week is out of the ordinary, with borders queued until 2AM because of PvE-players blocking the Borders and, some of them, actively interrupting or destroying WvW gameplay (turning on com, diverting people from the pug zerg for ruins or JP, discourage people from deffing T3-Hills, because chuchu-train pug commander wants another wxp-station, etc. pp). When WvW-Achievements are done, there’ll be no 60p night capping force left. it’ll still be us, trying to survive in those huge towers with noone to talk to except the veteran lord :P

but yeah, wvw activity has been insane, the past week. don’t know if it’s the same on deso, but it’s literally useless to enter a battle, because you can’t even finish one single skillcast bc of lags :-D

So, we can buy an instant trait reset for 70 gems (~4g) at the traiding post, while it costs a few silver to reset trait points in LA. But the price is not what i want to discuss right now.
Since the start of gw2 i was hoping that some day we will have the possibilities to change and save our weapons, traits, skills.. wherever and whenever we want, just like in gw1 (Maybe with a few restrictions like dungeons or so). I think with this step my hopes that we could see this feature in the near future are shattered. You are always talking about how we can play what we want. Is this really a necessary money sink? We can already change weapons and skills at any time, so why keep this restriction on traits? Also i think people would be more likely to try out new builds and test them in different situations. with the upcoming balance update you said you want to encourage new builds. So why this useless restriction? i can see no harm in it and i’m sure it would make a lot of people very happy.

everytime i play gw2, not only does my framerate drop after like 20 to 40 minutes (see my other thread concerning this issue), my keyboard changes from DE to EN and after this, it changes to …. i don’t know what..

ESC = windows button
TAB = ALT + TAB
Mouse 1 = CTRL

etc. pp…..

anyone has any idea where this comes from and, even more important, how to fix it?

keep in mind, that GW2 is the only full screen program that causes this problem

the biggest difference between AM and GH and Dz is that we’re having fun while you QQ all the time, which makes us on AM the winners of every bracket.
it doesn’t matter to us if you prefer to run small guild groups or huge blobs, wfc anyways, just have fun at what you’re doing and you never lose.

i will certainly answer those questions, but i guess not to your liking:

ad1: yes, there are two gunnars on the screen but only one is/was dancing on my body

ad2: we were 2 defending, the thief and me, as elementalist. the third, the necromancer was trying to get to us from spawn and just arrived after the tower fell.

the picture itself shows the warrior who was about the only one fighting inside and in front of the tower as well.

don’t know, haven’t played reset, but it sounds a lot like you ran into the mapleading pug-commander and reset is always a bad time for solo roamers, not only when facing AM.

and then when you try to do it late at night, or early morning, because that should be the best time to try to solo abit right?…nope!

then let me give you a small hint there, you can solo with AM from 8-18h during weekdays, then the larger guilds are popping up. Biggest number our gild runs is 10 ppl at once twice a week, so we’re still small scale, i cannot speak for other players on our sever.

then you still run over soloers or small man groups with close to 30 people…so seriously, with all due respect, go play in a blender please…

well, what i did today for example was defending my spawntower (to the east) solo first, then as a two man ele/thief setup. after losing spawn and enjoying gunnars dancing on my dead twig body, we finally ended up zerging around for fun and trolling 5vs15 in front of our own spawntower, (edit: to clarify things: we were 5, gunnars were ~10-15 and they were sitting ducks inside our own tower) while getting shot by at least 3 arrow carts. still got a nice load of kills, though there was one warrior from LEV (i think) who was pretty good. props to this one! except for dancing on my body, that wasn’t nice.

the rest of the time, i tried soloing with gunnars, they usually ran and came back with 3 more to beat the crap outta me. well played.

i rest my case with this statement, since i’m not responsible for what the rest of my server is doing. thanks for the attention.

ok, things look quite differently after 3hrs of wvw and tpvp. mind that while in the first screen, details were set to maximum, while here, the details were reduced to minimum and the framerate locked to 30fps. still there’s a heat generation increase noticable

the funny thing is, sometimes, when nobody’s exptecting it, in between of those huuuuge aba-blobs, there are usually 3-4 coordinated guilds who also know what they are doing and they kick in for a nice surprise and coordinated zergsplitting action. looks fun to watch while defending

Well, as it says in the title: since last patch on 23.7, my game’s been starting to act up and i have extreme fps drops. it used to run supersmooth (40fps+) on highest settings, now it’s down to 30 in character select or while standing around idle and it goes down to 2-8fps when i turn my camera, or with sprite effects, well, basically if anything on the screen moves. if i turn it down to lowest settings, subsample textures and all, it barely seems to manage to climb over 15-25 during any kind of on-screen action.

i didn’t change anything on my setup, all drivers are up to date, so i’m rather clueless….

please halp!

first of all, there are a lot of ex-Kodashis on AM, who’d love to rough up some of their fellow exGuildies for fun or generally those guys, who made us leave kodash in the first place (ranters, naggers and all that sort of ppl)

second, i’d love to play vizunah for once, just out of curiosity, not bc i’m hoping to gain anything from it. If Vizunah’s not possible, ER were always interesting enemies. Of course we were no match for them and the huge armies (it seems, that nowadays nobody knows the meaning of zerg anymore ) kinda kitten up the framerate and the skilllags are horrible. but there’s only one way to improve your gameplay and it’s not by facing weaker servers or servers who prefer to GvG all the time instead of properly playing WvW as intended.

That being said, I once again try to summon Kodash for the next reset by dancing and shouting in circles.

for me, it started lagging, the day dragon bash started and hasn’t stopped ever since. lags only occur in pvp and wvw. and they are massive. i’m talking about 5-10 seconds

Although we enjoyed this matchup so far while running with ADAC and CE most of the time (we’re only 10 people actively playing WvW on Aba, so we have to team up with other guilds – thx and big love to CE here, for supporting us) i’m starting to get quite furious about some of the comments around here, which, to no small account at that either, attest to incredibly bad sportsmanship from some of the posters. We’re still talking about a matchup between two servers with “very high” population and high guild activity and a “medium” populated server with a lot of smaller guilds and quite a bunch of randoms. To accuse us on AM of blobbing, while it’s actually the only reasonable strategy to compete against 30-40+ guild squads from BB or AR is really embarrassing on your side. I can relate, when you say, it’s no real challenge to wipe a more or less unorganized blob consisting of 3-4 10+ guilds and a bunch of randoms in open terrain with a perfectly coordinated guild squad, but how much fun would an encounter with small groups only consisting of 5-10 ppl be? not much fun, not much honor and not even a little challenging.

enough ranting, i enjoyed the matchup while it lasted, i got around 600 kills from this matchup so far without actively blobbing most of the time.

this is going to be the hardest week since like forever for us here on abaddon, but also the most interesting! we’re definitely looking forward to meeting redguard in the field again. you guys kick total ass! =)
reset was total chaos but it was fun today =) we had a good laugh, when suddenly we were running with elona reach and seafarers rest xD

first off: i’ve been playing an elementalist since gw1 first came out, played it for 7 years or so and couldn’t wait to roll one in gw2. been playing my twig since the beta now =)

honestly, i’m very disappointed. i used to play my elementalist in three different builds:
pve: fotm dd with ascalon gear for fractals (because i don’t like fractals at all and i’m too lazy to look for something different), full off zerker dd/sd for any other dungeon
pvp: ogre dd tanky-dps build
wvw: team roamer / frontline auramancer

neither of the non-ractals builds was even close to being bunker. now i lack the mobility and the heal to play these builds without getting 2-2-2-2-2-2-2 shotted by any passing faceroll heartseeker spamming thief or whatevsitistheydo-warrior. i’m not the best elementalist out there, but i’d say, after 800h+ playing my ele, i usually do a good enough job to handle my fights.
now i lack the heal and the mobility to do so.

great. now, i don’t want to give up on my elementalist yet, so i started experimenting (again, after already spending a huge pile of money and playtime experimenting on my gear, my rune and weaponsetup etc. pp. for the first three builds.) after trying close to 30 different builds in pvp, i came to the conclusion, that it’s simply impossible for me to not play bunker anymore and survive mesmers, backstabbing thiefs, mm-necs or pretty much any damage dealing setup there is.

i’m not giving up on my elementalist yet and i’m still trying to find a viable build (bunkers are simply boring), but it’d be so nice to experience one single patchday (there hasn’t been one since beta) where i’m not terrified of looking at the patchnotes. in addition to getting a falcon punch in the face every! single!! time!!!, it’s always the explanations of the balancing team, that make me furious. “too many people play ele, so it’s gotta go”

atm, i’m just waiting for thiefs and warriors to get a range 100000000000000000000 aoe 1hit kill.

edit: i thought i might add the fact, that i’ve still got warr, thief, nec, mes, guard, to 80 and still play them all, but after playing an ele, they all feel slow like a crippled & chilled mesmer =(
