like the title says: is there a tool to stabilize the connection to a certain IP, reduce packet loss on user end and/or improve the general connectivity?

little explanation: our thief suffers from a very slow internet connection and although it should by far be enough for the traffic of gw2+ts, he still crackles in TS and experiences massive lag spikes (while some come from the server) and rubberbanding.

i think i read something about a tool such as this in the pvp forums thread ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/MASSIVE-lag-spikes ) but i can’t find it anymore, so i thought i’ll open up this one

i’d love to see an infinite consumables & general useful items reward track, with black lion keys, transmutation charges, maybe laurels and other stuff you can actually use, instead of all the boxes with 2 greens and a blue in it.
a crafting mats only track would be nice too.

eh, don’t care about rangers. they only get dangerous if a thief, mesmer AND a pewpew focus you. then their random AI can distract you enough for thief and mesmer to kill you.

GW2’s pvp combat is, simultaneously, too hardcore (you have to study every little detail hard to even get an idea of what is happening) and too casual (too much influence from passive effects, AI, procs, particle effects, lack of counterplay), which ultimately ends up NOT satisfying either of the two types of players. It’s a walking, messy contradiction.

oh and yes, please dumb this game down even further. plx remove all teh butoons, dey make me dizzy.

devs don’t play or test ele, since they can’t play them at a decent level. plus, izzy hates eles and has so since gw1. he still lingers with the balance team and whispers "nerf ele, destroy ele" in their ears, while they’re apparently asleep at their job.

a soldier hambow does thrice the dps a dd-cele-ele (lol) does, has more effective and more frequent knockdowns, sustains just as much or even more and doesn’t melt instantly when focused.

hey, how about we remove all the amulets and runes, give every profession the same base stats and only give stats over builds. i mean, it would just be fair, that a condi mesmer, who doesn’t invest a single point in the condi traitline and has to even that out with rabid/carrion amulet and krait runes, gets no condi damage. right guys?

beautiful statement by the OP. i experienced absolutely the same, except it was before april patch. just stick to it and it’ll pay off, despite all the QQ now and then.

this bug is as old as pvp, you have to dig deeper to find the threads for that

i don’t think cele has to go, i just think the other amulets need a serious stat boost to match cele total stat points

i remember the good old days, when i played my triple cantrip d/d with berserkers amulet...

everybody who can’t defeat a pewpew in 1v1 or even 1v2 is a noob! we tried it for 5 hrs, you can’t lose against them.

i just went 1v35 without armor and weapons and still won! according to ladderboard, you do not even have one single win in TQ, and a 10/6 score in sq. i suggest you go back to pve and try soloing some skelks.

no tanky build will ever save you from a good burst. it’s very much about the skill, don’t be sad. priorities are just somewhere else. also, i would play more than 150 games in total to judge pvp, my frand.

chukree, i think OPs target were people on ladderboard ranks 800-999, who boast that they are ranked, even though they just won 20 games. no need to be so condescending.

i don’t know about raw numbers, but the ability to control the burst is in fact a buff. at least for me and of course only in pvp. i wouldn’t use elemental anywhere else

we had fights against 4 teams with more than 2 yolo pewpewers today, this is really getting out of hand.

we won every single encounter(500:50 :80 :120 and so on), but it’s still annoying because of boring.

the bottom line is: pewpew buffs are nice and all, but ranger is still a long way from being viable in tQ and that should be the main concern of the balancing team. every profession should be at least usable in two or more builds.

all i wanted to say was, that if you want a high rank finisher, you should actually get into playing pvp and the best way to do that is by finding a decent team and playing teamQ.
also, there is no other way to do that, because yoloQ will drive you insane eventually and the progress in hotjoin is capped.

and yes, i explored pretty much every aspect of the game and finally ended up in pvp, because the rest is too repetitive for my taste.

try doing that in tQ, from lederborsd ranks 80% (yes) and up, every single player will kill you instantly. lol.

i think the elemental is a pretty nice elite, since you can control his burst now, but all things considered, in comparison to spirit of nature or res banner, plague/lich form, it stinks.

beating rangers on a D/D is as easy as killing a skelk in queensdale

what you generally want to do is close in really fast (blink, burning speed, RTL etc.), preferably with stabi on (earth armor). earth 2 is cool for saving dodges on approach as well, while most maps offer a way to LOS the ranger while getting close (at least on nodes). outplay his LB in melee range and force the ranger to GS, which makes him a lot slower and easier to dodge, since all his ouchie skills are telegraphed by huge freaky animal spirits (it’s like HEY!!!! I WILL ATTACK NOW; PLEASE DON’T DODGE"). CC him with magnetic grasp, shock aura etc, all the while pressuring with bleeding and burning and make him waste his dodges and stunbreakers before you launch your own burst.
if he’s not dead by then or you are fighting multiple foes, go for fire elemental or air elemental (i personally prefer fire) and if you got him at the point with all stunbreakers on CD, knock down, cast elemental burst, soft CC/updraft and he will melt in seconds. works GS warriors as well.

that’s a good question that only the devs can answer. it really makes no sense at all.

I feel the word cancer is being severely overused lately. What makes hotjoin cancer, exactly? Why is a place for people to test builds and get experience with the game before jumping right into ranked play a BAD thing? Why is a place where you can literally jump in, have some fun, and then leave as you see fit a negative experience that is hurting pvp?

you can’t test builds in hotjoin, because hotjoin uses different builds and useless players to test it on. forgot my traits once, went to test “new build” in hotjoin. won 1v5. wahu.

plus: the mode is not the problem. it’s the players. by using it to farm ranks, which also should be removed, btw. and zerging like stupid mofos all the time, they will not learn to pvp, ergo it is a flawed system to begin with and obviously does not fit the player base at all.
using an unranked SQ instead of hotjoin with rank progression and introducing a small/medium battle arena with no capture points would actually make more sense, since in SQ, you cannot teamswitch and in the battle arena, you can zerg all you want.

replace it with unranked SQ. and introduce a proper tutorial, like in every other game. that’s it.

this is ridiculous and clearly not only a l2p issue, but even more a "get used to rangers being able to hit stuff in a more ore less decent way" and a "get used to rangers at all" kind of problem.

stop QQing and TRY to kick ranger kitten and you will see, they’re not even close to invincible. but standing around and/or panicking because a pewpew is pewpewing is ridiculously stupid and embarassing for everyone who calls him/herself an even half decent pvp player.

I play enough tournaments and as far as I know they are pretty much useless.
They usually run berserker, can’t hold a point and they are annihilated by a single thief with ease.

tbh. they even are annihilated by a single AH support guardian.

Why are they an issue? Because they stay at 1500 range doing single target damage? Just bring a thief and it will be downstate the whole match.
