As you can see in the screenshot, there is no option to do storymode.
Although curious, if you do someone else’s storymode will you get achievement for killing zhaitan and pass this step in the personal story?
Lost 14 games back to back: five were 4v5’s, three contained an afk, the other seven were just the typical horrible match ups.
This isn’t the first day this kinda kitten has happened.
That pain, rage and suffering when you lose so many games back to back.

I agree with syke, the glory merchant should’ve remained there. Also, vast majority of gw2 population are in college so there timing was bad because we never had a chance to use up our unspent glory. I’ve never got an e-mail notification saying “we are going to get rid of glory, please spend your three quarters of a million glory you have left before we get rid of all your hard work.”
Game starts 4v5, someone on the team decides to not play because its 4v5 making it 3v5. Team never scores a point, we lose 0 – 501.
This may not be pvp only thing. But what kittenes me off is that skills like heartseeker, will que up instantly that if your use to pressing buttons really fast so they activate that you will do more heartseekers than you know what to do with.
But other skills like F1 for warriors, earthshaker for example and other warrior skills combustive shot too.
So frustrating having to hit the same button over and over and over and nothing happens because you got dazed or something, and then with heartseeker, you could get dazed and after you get out of dazed you heartseek even though you didn’t press a button after you got dazed.
Also, skills like Stomp, says it breaks stun but I see it get interpted at times, are skills that break stun suppose to get interrupted? That skill needs a shorter cooldown or something too because so many stupid ways that it gets avoided. Probably why you don’t see much of it in skyhammer.
If you earn 1000 points towards progression, you should get 1000 points.
They need to fix reward track progression so when your 100 points away from cap you don’t lose the 900 remaining points. The remaining points should carry over to whatever is next.
Ya the items I asked for are basically more gold, and/or ways for you to save huge amounts of gold from crafting your ascended armor.
Crafting things like ascended chestplate the primary gold sinks are the items I mentioned.
This would be good in the orr track since you should get rewarded for getting that far and this would be a perfect reward to keep doing that track vs the other tracks.
You know if your struggling with bank space, you could just refine all those materials into bricks.
Feels really awkward if PvP gave such high rewards, a bolt of damask is really valuable!
PvE players should get glory points for doing world bosses and dungeons then, and from every player kill in WvW

I was doing some more thinking and it should be offered in the orr track only, because it is the last track of the progression track. There should be some reward for getting this far as well and I think this would be a nice reward. You don’t get any dungeon armor or weapons, instead you get the items I’ve mentioned.
Also another thing to note is that they are worth like 8 gold, the bolt of damask is worth like 15 gold. So it would engage the pvp’er in trade posting for the other necessary items and make a bolt of damask than resell it and make the 8 gold profit if he choses that route. Lets be honest, pretty much everything in this game is at the honest/ lowest price. 20 slot bags are 12 gold… Well it takes just about 12 gold to make. So to get all the other ingredients to make bolt of damask it would take 7 of your gold.
Another thing, they could make it by chance too, like 80% chance to get a Spool of silk weaving thread or Lump of Mithrillium and a 20% chance to get a Bolt of Damask or Deldrimor Steel Ingot.
Point is to make PvP worth something, and if people see that PvP offers some valuable rewards worth wasting there time than more people will come and PvP. Getting a Bolt of Damask and clovers and obsidian shards are worth it in my mind. Only 15 gold and just remember how long it takes to complete a track. You want to make it worth it.
Clutter bags with bloodstone dust and dragonite ore isn’t the way to go. It takes a long time to clutter bags with Spool of silk weaving thread or Lump of Mithrillium however and these are components that people NEED/WANT.
I play warhorn build on spirit watch, pretty good. I’m not a big fan of warhorn 5, it says fumble, but pretty much useless even though I always spam it right before I swap weapons.
If you ask me they should replace fumble with a fear or a daze, duration is higher closer you are to it too. Preferably fear.

TeamQ leaderboards make no sense.
My team plays same amount of games I’ve played in last couple days, always together…
I was higher than them like in 300s, I lose 2 games win 4 games and drop off leaderboards for some odd reason, we play some more games and I’m at 93% and my friends at 95%. How’d the heck that happen?
I swear these leaderboards be trolling me.
You should have two sets of weapons and armor, PvT and PvE.
Remember, you cant land crits on Tequatl so best gear is PvT while for CoF P1 runs best gear is PvE.
You know those end chests of a reward track on the tracks that’s give you dragonite ore, bloodstone dust, clovers, and obsidian shards.
1.) Well they should get rid of the bloodstone dust and dragonite ore, and replace it with choice of bolt of damask or deldimor steel ingot.
Seriously it takes 300 silk scraps to even make 1 bolt of damask and you need like 2+ of them. Let alone a bunch of other nonsense silks. I cant calculate HOW many times you’d have to win pvp games to even make an ascended gear.
2.) If that’s too much to ask, than secondary option would be to offer choice of Spool of silk weaving thread or Lump of Mithrillium.
I just want to let you guys know that this dragonite ore and bloodstone dust is pretty much garbage to someone who spends hours completing a pvp track. The options I offered are much much more valuable. You also don’t stack up on them easily like you do with dragonite ore and bloodstone dust. And if you’ve played as many games as I have than you’d know your bags start hurting with all that garbage in it, when the game could be giving you something more valuable and worth your time.
Ps. thinking about bags, I’m still waiting for PvP bags to come back into the game…. Maybe instead of getting a skin you already have… You can chose to get a bag equivalent to your pvp rank…
Edit, If people see this as a good way to get those stupid components for ascended gear… That’s means more pvp population. If you people seriously do these tracks for the dragonite ore and bloodstone dust your doing it wrong, 3 hours in eotm karma you’ll have way more than you know what to do with. Now for the components I mentioned.. Very tedious, and if PvP was to give out those kind of rewards it would draw in a crowd that’s for sure. If anything go with option 2 because you cant sell it on trade post. Since you cant sell ores and dusts on tradepost anyways. I’m sure everyone would rather get option 2 in replacement of those stupid dusts and ores.

Back in the days it was to have fun time PvPing.
Today’s time, things changed. One for instance, normal hotjoin arenas are 5v5. Another thing, getting rank isn’t primarily based on how well you do, its mostly based on whether you win or lose.
Due to recent changes, hotjoins is primarily a place to get ready for arena, and focus on winning.
Its not about the fun time anymore.
Differences
Cannon, you can dodge a cannon ball coming towards you in real life.
Trebuchet, you can dodge a treb attack coming towards you in real life.
Skyhammer, you cannot dodge a nuke in real life.
No one in Hiroshima was able to side step, dodge roll or anything in that nature to a nuke attack. If anything, it should have a side effect like lava instead called radiation which you slowly die as well.
Solo que isn’t the new hotjoin, I still see the same amount of players getting que’ed with me time and time again. Between all sets of skill levels, some people que’ed with me from 300 on leaderboards, others from like 90% on leaderboards in same game.
Now for hotjoin.
1. Newplayers hate being farmed and losing games against smart good players who will all join one team (the winning team) to stack against them.
2. Its just not fun anymore. They made hotjoins too much, prepping you for solo que and team que that the fun factor is now out of it.
a. They did this by making games more winning friendly than having a good time fighting anywhere friendly. (Its more fun ganking than playing to win, old system was better)
b. You feel more pressured due to it being 5v5. You’re now 20% of the contribution compared to the old 8v8 13% contribution.
c. Its never balanced and most of the time its one team that’s stacked and the other team is missing one person, which is a big difference considering the other team has a 20% advantage over you. With 8v8 it wasn’t too much of a deal. With 5v5 its a big deal.
3. Why hotjoin for rewards when solo que and team que offer better rewards.
a. Also offer you chance at fair fights being 5v5 most of the time, while hotjoin having 4v5 a lot more likely.
b. Also the skill level is fair as well due to highly skilled players cannot stack team in solo que.
Last note, hotjoins back in September 2013 had a lot more full servers AND servers being used up WITH active people playing when compared to today.
Also the one and only leaderboard que (no solo or team, just 1 que) is still the same. However I made a lot more friends and it was more friendly with just 1 que compared to this solo and team que. A lot more hot headed, blame everything on team kind of people in the ques right now than compared to back in September 2013.

I gotta agree with Zeus, I’ve never known this PeeWee before September 2013, the only best well known engy was OstrichEggs. And ever since I came back I been seeing this guy all the time.
Ostrich was rank 60 before I left and ya know what, with the revamped system he’d be considered a rank 80, and nobody made rank 80 before the new system came alive so, if this PeeWee was high enough rank to make it to 80 with the new system, he isn’t first, hes tied with Ostrich and any other engy that was able to get instant rank 80. Chaith was pretty popular too, but PeeWee nope never heard of him, he musta been hotjoin farming or something.

All I gotta say is that split into two different arenas wasn’t worth it in my mind.
Also all those 2v2 3v3 arena lovers, adding more arenas and different ways to que will just lead to longer wait time, they attract no one. Its just some fun thing you can do in the Custom Arenas.
If anything new gets added, it should be 8v8 GvG. I’d say something larger but some guilds cannot field a larger number constantly. Also 8v8 was pretty successful in hotjoins way back than, 10v10 just turned into a real zergfest.
So adding GvG you have a guild leaderboard… Currently you have player, and server but there’s no guild leaderboard yet. Best to start out 8v8 and if people want larger fights than that’s something you can do in the future.
Just ask kirito how many he has. He’s played over 10000 games, so if he didn’t get one from reward track… odds are not in your favor.
Also another thing to factor in is, luck, a pvp player only doesn’t have much in game luck. As well as the fact that you cannot complete most dailies with just straight pvp anymore.

Thinking about waiting for my rank to decay, so I face bad teams and hopefully win and get shot back to rank 1 that way if it works.
Your “decayed” leaderboard ranking is not used for matchmaking.
If you are rank100 but decayed to rank900. You will not be playing against other rank900 players, but rather rank100’s. (Assuming sufficient population)
Too bad anet doesn’t show you your hidden MMR values along with the rankings.
Maybe right, but I went against bunch of scrubs that game and went to 148.
I played more games, lost 2 went from 148 to 95%… Than won the next 4 and went from 95% to 603.
So when people talk about leaderboards rewards little if you win and hurts a ton if you lose, they aint lieing because 148 to 95% in 2 games, that hurts A LOT. Than I win 4 more in a row and just go up 100 each game, not very rewarding.
I went from 0 games played on team que leaderboards……. to 794 756 games played and rank 148 on leaderboards after 1 win. Havent played team que since September 2013 too.
Nice to know leaderboards still keeps all your old games from previous leaderboards…. If only it made me rank 1 on leaderboards so I get my title…. Thinking about waiting for my rank to decay, so I face bad teams and hopefully win and get shot back to rank 1 that way if it works.

They can be unstoppable, but requires high level of skill and its not easy to achieve that high skill level.
Not saying they can run into a 1v5 and win, but they could be so slippery you never kill them and deadly that they come out of no where and take you down when your alone.
They should make a finisher where you blow up the limbs of a player. Like some animation of shoving a bomb down there throat and then the person you finished blows up. I played a lot of Quake so I’m use to people’s limbs flying across the map when you overkill them.
Also, a ‘Punch Out’ finisher, you know where Soda Popinski would laugh at you after he beat you. One things for sure, people don’t like getting laughed at when they lose 1v1 and that’d be a great humiliation finisher.
Or what about finishers that make the person you finished screen all bloody and have animations going on his screen like he’s seeing stars.
One more thing, having a torture finisher and making the person you finished squeal/cry really loud would add more humiliation to the person you finished as well. Like a chainsaw and cutting off there limbs.
Another thing I think some finishers should be really loud, so loud you can hear them from the other end of the map. Maybe also or another one could be a really massive finisher like a giant walking on top of the person you finished.
Perhaps rank 90 finisher can be a giant finisher? Toughest thing to max out on in the slayer progression is currently Giant Slayer. Hearing BOOOM BOOOM, and seeing a massive giant be neat, perhaps making the ground shake as well would top it off.
Clearly these guys that made the changes aren’t IT’s because there’s a saying “if it aint broken don’t mess with it”
Hotjoin was great before these changes they’ve did. Raid of Capricorn IS a great and fun map but its not used anymore. Hotjoin back than was FUN. Now hotjoin is stressful and feels like your doing a solo que because its all about winning and not about having fun. I do miss the individual scoring for points because it encouraged people to fight even off the points which was a lot of fun. However now its all about capturing nodes and bunkering down. Also the teamfights were much more intense and better, I’ve played the 10v10 but that’s just too many people, 8v8 is where its at and its just right.
Many of these changes after September 2013 I don’t like at all.
Like I said before dude, its a highly skilled map.
Get your NPC between you and the glass that the invis’ed guy is coming from. If your going to bunker it be smart about it and have stun breaker. If you see him running away he’s probably going to use a pull, so be smart and get your NPC between you and that glass, move behind a pillar or wall before he gets set up. If your a necro put marks down and when you see them go off someone is there, than fear him away. Or just chase him and melee him next to the glass and use your skills to knock him into it instead.
If all you do is sit there and let people magnet pull you or whatever than you clearly aren’t a good player.
As I said before, this map is a highly skilled map, and you wont easily takeout highly skilled players.
They need to have a starcraft like endgame score, showing damage output, people you’ve finished, kills, revivals, captures, neuting nodes, buffs you’ve applied, conditions you’ve applied. Pretty much starcraft showed everything, this game needs to do same at the end.
What they could do to asura’s is make little characters have smaller range in attacks, and bigger characters have bigger range in attacks. That way big characters you easily see them attack but the pro is that they have larger range, and for smaller characters its hard to see them attack but the con is that they have smaller range.

Also when plates start cracking smart players don’t just stand there and let you pull them, even if you sneak in, they will be on there guard just like how everyone is when plates crack. Sure you may get him, but don’t forget your also leaving your team as a one person disadvantage elsewhere and they will down that lone guy as easily as you downed the guy with your 2v1 advantage.
For the 1v2 on sidenode and hammer fights I’d say necromancer is the best because of AE fears also he does have stability and can teleport back if he falls.
As I said before, Skyhammer is a high skill level map, people have there own tricks up there sleeves and being ready for them is key. Many more aspects of the game is made known which makes Skyhammer highly skill played map.

and to the people who think you can dodge S toss magnet you are literally kittened. the only way youll ever know its coming is if you HEAR the S toss which basically means you have to be by yourself.
That’s why its highly skilled map, if you think you can bait anyone with dodges you’ve gotta be kidding. Good players don’t fall for that.
Also, don’t assume they wont be doing something to you as well, to make it sound so easy as you do. You will be getting pressured as well, once you miss your pull or have it broken by a stunbreak than your going to have to do other things to make it easy as it sounds and I’m sure a good player can give you a run for your money.
I’ve already mentioned the ways to counter that, a Mesmer pull or push, a necro fear, blind fields, having stability, stun breaking, hiding behind your NPC, using the elements around you.
As I mentioned before this map is highly skill played map, you have to be aware of many other aspects of the game other than someone immobilizing you and dpsing you to death.
Also the sounding of the glass starting to shatter is very noticeable and seeing classes that have pull utilities run away and go invis are clear indicators of whats going to happen and is easily countered, in a 2v1 fight sure someone could set you up, on any other map its the same deal, that lone person is suppose to lose anyways but can win, just like that can happen on skyhammer as well.

Phantaram has 2 accounts and was established an all-star very early in the game, thus if you did not follow PvP at that time, he will seem like a nobody.
Ya I remember way back then, team legends or whatever.

I remember supcutie as the Mesmer and I’m pretty sure phantaram was EU Mesmer because I don’t remember him from NA.
I wouldn’t mind if they made stunningstyles an allstar, hes really good and I hardly ever see him in any of these tournaments. Since everyone is like ‘wtf no guardian’.
If you ask me, there should’ve been an option ‘type in players name’.
Not sure if these guys that made this tournament are from USA but in USA when you go vote for a president they give you options but also give you an option to write in some random persons name that you think is best.
Also I was thinking, I think it was Caed or someone else but somebody said ‘Everyone knows me in pvp but when I leave hearts of mist nobody knows me’. Well just thinking if they did leave an option for you to insert name, I wouldn’t be surprised if some WvW commander or somebody that PvE’s came in and was considered a pvp allstar rather than some of these guys. There is a lot of good WvW and PvE players out there.
Also the fact that active PvP community is like 3000 people, due to streams not getting that many viewers. Than you got the PvE WvW community like 300000 people.
I’m sure if some Allstar PvE WvW’er was in this tournament there’d be an increase in viewership. I’m on JQ server and I don’t pve wvw that much but there’s a commander named cloudfly, hes pretty good and people know who he is and he leads massive zergs to victory on jade quarry. I’m sure if he was on the all star team he’d lead a massive zerg to watch this all star game.

Cuz 90% of solo q players suck.
Pre “PvP patch” i was top 100 with 60%+ win rate, playing everyday.
Now i’ve 54% win rate, struggling in everymatch.
The more i play, the more i go down.
And before people says " it will even out in the long run", all i can say is that you have literally no understanding of math and statistics.
Ya that’s exactly why. I hear nothing but ‘you suck’ ‘my team sucks’ all day everyday in this solo que. Its like everyone sucks, so why are you playing solo que if everyone in solo que sucks.
Too much dissing and people that are kitteny that nobody wants to be friends with anyone else and why bother trying to form a team if you know team que is just full of those players that don’t ‘suck’.
I read some comment somewhere I guess they did some balance patch or something and rangers got buffed, but they still mad because they buffed wrong spots. Well that’s how I am in pvp, they didn’t need to create two separate ques, all they needed to do was create a better matchmaking system. But instead they tried to make something totally not needed to be better. Which doesn’t solve anything. Before than leaderboards wasn’t good, still aint good. Before than tournaments weren’t good, and its STILL not good. Especially aint good when people say teamque is dead.
Basically if teamque is dead, that means nobody is playing together (as in partied up, maybe in teamspeak, vent, or mumble). When people don’t play together in MMORPG’s that’s a bad thing.

Also you can tell its coming when he runs away and when you hear the glass start cracking. There’s many indicators its coming. There’s many ways to counter it as well. Like hiding behind an NPC such as ranger pet, necro golem, rockdog, parrot, getting out of line of sight by hiding behind pillar use your own utilities in that location like Mesmer pull, warrior stomp, breaking stun, stability, going stealth yourself, dodgeroll, dodge skill, so many ways to counter it.
What they need to do is only give credit when people start the game before match starts, should also randomly assign people to teams as well and increase the player cap back to 8v8.
If someone joins the game when its 100 – 20 and finishes and wins than they shouldn’t be given credit.
This way its a lot harder for people to stack teams and farm wins and pvp tracks because that’s what the issue is right now with hotjoins.
The issue with solo que right now is not that people don’t know how to play, its that they don’t know how to teamfight so 8v8 is more teamfight friendly. It’s easy to show a newb how to cap… To show a newb how to teamfight that’s a different story.

About 4-5 times a game I toss Elixir S, break a plate, and toolkit pull someone to there death. Doesn’t matter who it is. I’ve killed just about every top NA player doing it.

Please fix the drop rates for these, I have also opened more than 100 and no luck.
Either make them available on TP or allow us to trade x geodes for a fossil.

Salvage items and consume luck than maybe you will get one after you are considered lucky.

I remember the GOOD ol days of hotjoin 8v8, games were at least….. EVEN. Even with a 7v8, it still wasn’t a huge blow.
Just think about it 2v3… That’s a 33% loss.
Now a 7v8… That’s a 13% loss
People don’t play hotjoin to get prepped for tpvp, they play hotjoin to have fun.
I don’t play anymore hotjoins really, because its just not fun anymore. Right now its just about winning rather than having fun.

Mine is pretty much rotation.
If you won mid fight and you like downed 2 guys like 15 seconds ago don’t go far by yourself. All your doing is helping them regroup fighting at there home while they trickle in on you, kill you, than zerg mid and win mid.
If your triple capped and they have 3+ enemies at your home node don’t trickle in on them and keep dying, they left everything else open pretty much.
Going in mid fight then my teammates run away because they scared
Let the enemy bleed out if they on your node and its capped by you and theres no immediate threat. You know that guy that rushes far and whoops your kitten at home, well, let him bleed out so it takes awhile before I have to help you out again. Make him kittened off.
People whining about hammer, and not even going for hammer. People whining about being trebbed and not even going to take out the treb.
Thieves that don’t decap far node when its open.
People that don’t bunker a node (specifically mid node) and 5 seconds later its decapped.
Again rotation.
I hate it when people trickle on the enemy 1v3, someone comes to help 2v3 5 seconds later its 1v3 again someone comes to help 2v3 than 1v3 again.
Sometimes its best to just wait it out, calm down wait for your team to re spawn than try and do something again. People always be thinking if they not fighting someone there not doing a good job.

So my inventory is quickly filling up since none of the pvp rewards stack on each other and unlike the old system it quickly clogs up my inventory. The old system it took a long time to clog up the inventory but this new system it only takes a few hours to do so.
Therefore I request that PvP backpacks be bought back into PvP. I request it comes back into PvP in those armor and weapon boxes. So at end of the list of armor and weapons you manually select you can choose to have a pvp backpack per your rank in it as well. So if I’m a rank 64, I deserve a 20 slot bag that I can acquire through pvp rewards system.
Back in the old system, you could get the bags for 500 glory, this new system you cannot obtain bags at all and I believe bags should be obtainable in PvP

Yeah like I said, its that theres no good rating in this game. Games like starcraft don’t rate people who never been in a ladder match at 2000, they get rated at like 1200, and it doesn’t take a few games to reach anywhere close to 2000. GW2 rates people so high, you could lose 11 games and 1 win like mentioned before and be top 25. Such bad rating.

Rank is bad
Matchmaking is bad

What’s someone suppose to do if pretty much 100% of pvp is bad/a joke.

Class balance is fine. The builds the game is balanced around aren’t.

Make sure you bring humper turret. It has crazy amounts of knockback and really op right now.
As an engy there use to be a sumo engy which required skill, but now you just drop a thumper turret and it does all the work no skill involved and hard to takedown.
If anyone lose to an afk turreter, they don’t deserve to be in Solo Q or Team Q.
I see it all the time in solo que. So many baddies.
What they promised a long long time ago which everyone forgot about is that ‘We plan to increase the number of spectators in game’. Since more people wanted to watch a official tournament live in game.
Since then nothing has happened.
If they added spectator mode that hides them from the actual game and not allow them to enter the game this might work. Where you would click spectate instead of hotjoin server game.
Click spectate, than go from game to game, only thing visible is other spectators and score, but the actual players cannot see them when they look at scorecard.
Then when people look for games, they automatically assigned to the game, no picking red or blue team. Just like before.
Have two separate things in the pvp window to separate people watching and playing.
1. Server list for joining a game to play.
2. Spectate mode, to watch games.
(Both are in pvp window, its not join a server THAN pick to play or spectate. It’s decide to play or spectate BEFORE joining any servers type deal)
To play a game you have to go back to leave spectator mode, which brings you to hearts of mist than go and join the game and be automatically assigned.
This way you can still watch games, but if you want to join the winning team, its going to take a lot of time to do so.

AI builds are fine, but when you KNOW that those engineers are running turret because that’s the only viable build and its strong. Than yeah they need some tweaking to not make them as powerful.
You know you got it right when your unable to predict what build a certain profession is going to play.
For example, I’m not sure if a warrior is going to play hambow, 100 blades, banner, stunlock, etc.
That is not the case, majority of warriors are easily identified as hambow because its too easy and powerful.
For example engineers, I’m not sure if they going to play HGH nades, flamethrower, sumo automated response (condi strong), bomb kit sumo, turrets.
That’s not the case, a majority of engineers right now are identified as turret because its too easy and powerful.
The point isn’t really that balance is bad right now. Point is right now a lot of the easy and powerful builds are the AI builds, and its not that they are bad its just they are way easier and powerful than other builds and its an annoying meta. You shouldn’t get rid of them, but when majority of people play MM necro, turret engy, its just not fun fighting against a bunch of mobs a majority of the time.
