Oh I didn’t derail anything, the op wanted to talk about how necros are being condition pressure classes and engineers aren’t the best at it anymore so that’s exactly what I discussed.
Again last time I checked necromancers are nothing but conditions so I’m by all means satisfied necromancers dominate engineers in the condition game. Its not the engineer role to condition pressure people. And nades still works great because they haven’t been nerfed, whats been nerfed is engineer survivability. So if you still have a engineer throwing nades at you from up top, its still a threat.
Our role is more of a support or bunker type, we have turrets, we have ways of crippling and immobilizing, and also knockbacks.
If anything the ranger class needs to dominate the ranged dps, that’s the only class that sucks right now and look at that poll of the worst class somebody made, its clear rangers suck. Engineers don’t need much more loving we are fine where we are. HGH engy would crush a ranger in a ranged fight. Why do you see HGH engies chilling up top, while the rangers are meleeing it? Because rangers clearly lost there ranged role, they do better off with an avoidance type role while pet mauls you. While engineer sits up top throwing nades, using elixir gun and adding more condis and crippling people and throwing mine fields to knockback people all of this from a distance. You don’t even have to move really, just get to some spot where people have to go out of there way to get you. Note* AE condi from nades, AE cripple from elixir gun, AE knockback from mine field, we still bring a lot to the table unlike other classes. Plus if you use elixir C you get AE 1 condi to boon with addition slot to all conditions to boons to yourself. We have so many worthwhile utilities its not even funny compared to other classes.
If somebody sets up a warrior or thief for the kill, they’re going to kill you especially the warrior. However if you sets up a ranger for the kill, they wont kill jack kitten. kittening worthless class right now. All they do is annoy people from a distance, other than that worthless, I’d rather have a GS Mesmer annoy someone than a ranger.

Rangers just kittening suck at pretty much everything. Just don’t play a ranger. You want AE ranged damage reroll as HGH or staff ele.

I beat up some warrior on my naked thief 1v1 and I don’t main thief.
Warriors are all the same, they all run with greatsword and bullcharge and they are extremely predictable and easily avoided.
Didnt get this from the ranking up chest, but from a loot bag from a veteran supervisor. Proves it is possible to get them from drops
Doesn’t prove kitten, all it proves is thakittens in your inventory. And the guy that posted ascended ring, that proves you can get ascended gear. Good example how to prove something.
If I was ranked 1, I sure wouldn’t tpvp for a good while, especially when there is no incentive to continue to tpvp.
And that’s what they are doing right now, because do you see the top 25 fluctuate at all? I sure don’t see any fluctuation.
The only thing people can do now is get to rank 100-300 and then have to win several straight games with no losses because the top 100 don’t even put themselves out to give others chance. The only reason why I say this because I follow sataars rank and he won 3 games and was 90 something yesterday and I’m pretty sure he lost a game or 2, but he went down in rank because theres nobody higher ranking making themselves vulnerable for ranked tpvp match.
That’s why a lot of people are feeling like you lose 1 game it hurts so bad that you gotta win twice or three times just to count for 1 game loss while your on the leaderboards.
But again, zero incentive for people in some leaderboard rank they are satisfied with to continue to tpvp because your not threatened with losing your rank. And hotjoin gives better rewards than tpvp because all the items in the chest are just salvaged anyways, nobody cares about 11s dyes. I’d rather get points towards ranking up in pvp x3 faster than get 11s dyes every now and then, I have over 2000 powders I don’t need pvp materials I have over 250 chests saved up. Hotjoin and earn points to ranking up x3 faster is better reward than having a (50% chance aka you win you get you lose you don’t get) at a tpvp chest.
If they limit hotjoin glory to 200 points max a game, people will start flooding tpvp, 100% guaranteed and hotjoin would be a better place for newcomers. Right now you can earn crazy amounts in hotjoin, especially if your winning the games, if you get 591 points and lose the game you don’t get the extra points. Like this img epic fail. As you can see one img is less points but more glory just cuz I won it.
But if you can easily net 500+ glory a game, why on earth would you even keep playing tpvp? especially when the tournament reward points don’t even count towards ransacker title. Especially why would you do tournaments when your in top 100 already. That rank 7 leaderboard guy is probably rank 69 hotjoin hero, he probably just won 18 straight games just to get on leaderboard and never do them again because he doesn’t have to with the current system, he will stay in top 100 forever in this current system. So whats next after you get to a spot you like on the leaderboards? To get to rank 80 that’s whats next and since this game doesn’t promote tpvp everyone will do hotjoins after they get to a good leaderboard spot.

Necros aren’t out of hand, most times when I die is from a necro setting up someone else to combo me, by the necro fearing me while a dps class comes in and does all the damage. I’ve had no issues fighting a necro 1v1.
The thing is necros are using utilities people aren’t accustomed too, so they seem overpowered but in reality they aren’t people just need time to get used to them.
I’ve rarely seen necros use spectral wall but now it seems like a majority of them are rolling with it, nothing OP about it, just don’t run into it, and…. its very effective against thieves heartseeking.
GW2 needs to make there own tournaments, there shouldn’t be any preset (presets leave to some people no showing and waiting for hours leads to prolonged tournament, nobody wants to wait 10 hours for a tournament to finish.)

GW2 matchmaking system creates a tournament with all the ques.
People start there matches.
The pvp window for everyone (even those not in tournament) shows the brackets of the tournament where everyone is at and the scores.

I don’t think it exists…. My friend hasn’t played tpvp since the leaderboards were released and he’s still in the top 1k. Does that make any sense?
Like I said, I suspect the decay timer having started when they said the implemented decay, which was what 3 weeks ago? If they made decay strong to the point of people dropping off the boards after going on vaction for 2 weeks people would complain. I can’t remember exactly but I think MiM was top 25 before the “decay patch” and have dropped down to 60’s. Check next week, if they have fallen then I suspect decay is there, if not its doesnt exist.
Yeah you right. Mrmorry won 18 games like a month ago and hasn’t played since… He wasn’t in top 10, he was ranked 9th 2 or 3 days ago. Today he is ranked 7th.
You know why people lose leaderboard rank faster than they gain it?
A: People on leaderboard rarely play tpvp anymore. So you don’t face leaderboard players your constantly fighting people with %. Half of leaderboard is inactive so you cant beat them to make the leaderboard rank system work as in beat higher players gain rank faster, THERE ARE NO HIGHER PLAYERS they quit after they got on leaderboards.
Reasons:
-Hotjoin, better xp than tpvp.
-There is no benefit to continue to tpvp even when your on the leaderboard because you’ll never drop off.
-Those guys that are top 5? They’ll stay top 5 forever if they never play tpvp anymore.
-The current system doesn’t pressure people keep playing
You shouldn’t get hit by a massive leaderboard spike, you should gradually dwindle by 1-5 ranks if you don’t play for 3 days. But the current system if you don’t play you gradually get better in rank, just watch Mrmorry. I swear he was rank 9 3 days ago.
Also watch the top players with most wins. I don’t see sataar win that many games since he get 1000 games won a month or two ago, tpvp just isn’t worth playing anymore. I’m going to start watching the top 5 from now on though, it doesn’t look like they’ve played a game in awhile, but i’ll have to pay close attention.
Tpvp isn’t competitive as it use to be, and that needs addressing.
Do you really think the best should be playing hotjoins over tpvp?

aye engineer grenades do decent damage, but they are on low cooldown and ae so its easily spammed, hence why even if you cure conditions you’ll keep getting them until you deal with him.
I’d say damage wise the grenade kit is better than thief shortbow because you can constantly do ae damage and apply conditions, the thief shortbow requires initiative to keep using ae damage, which could be used for something better.
I’m the same way, seems like every week theres like mist league or some other crazy tournament going on and they claim its the best of the best and what do I see????

Your correct. Nobody can name anything else that’s better than engineer at neuting points. Flamethrower 20sec cooldown, Big ol bomb 30second cooldown, throw mine 15 secondcooldown, shield 4 25second cooldown, battering ram 20second cooldown, tornado form or rampager form. big ol bomb with glue floor combo. Theres so many ways to take a point as an engineer. If you really wanted to you can do unlimited chain stun combo.
Last time I checked, necromancers skill traits is all about conditions. Engineer is suppose to use turrets and gadgets but somehow they become the king of conditions for a time.
And you don’t even need to spec in knockback bunker to take points, just having the big ol bomb and landing it twice will neut a point because it has a huge blowout.
Oh and last time I checked elixir r has nothing to do with conditions, if you so paranoid over that stun break get a different utility with a stun break. Use elixir C if you want to get rid of your conditions, you shouldn’t be cheating your way to downed state and have instant rez from it.

I’m not sure if its really been looked at yet, but hotjoin needs to be looked at.
Appearently team stacking is giving newbies a bad time with pvp and there wont be any growth is people always stack on winning team.
Some games remain 5v4 with 10 spectators because they are all waiting for someone to join the losing team so they can join the winning team and farm and get 300+ glory points.
As much as I hate rank1 newplayers being in tpvp games, they are a lot better off in tpvp right now than in hotjoin because at least they have a balanced team instead of going against team full of hotjoin heroes farming you in hotjoins.

Yeah thieves aren’t very good in pve because they do purely dps and warrior does same exact thing but better.
Thieves need serious increase in damage. Especially since they aren’t as tanky as a warrior.
One of there biggest problems is how easy you can get a tournament chest. If they simply hand out everything, of course people will want more.
I use to get excited getting a chest in the 8 team tournaments back then, but since the push for 2 team tournaments by offering more reward and more glory it hasn’t been the same and that was the death of 8 team tournament, now you just play a game and win and you got a free chest, which is pretty much just handing us free stuff.
mesmers have the best downed state ability. move away from target and go invis is priceless. Illusionary berserker knocking out half of somebody’s health priceless as well.
Now if you want terrible downed state, look no further than at ele’s all they do is go into mist form and move for like 3 seconds and fall down, and then have a crappy immobilize as the 3rd option. ele’s downed state is some bullkitten!!!
Different Rank finishers would be sweet as well. Pay for them with Badges.
There are different rank finishers but have to have glory to buy them.
torment on scepter block… yeah a huge buff to mesmers (while nerfing pretty much everything else)
Yeah who uses sword, everyone uses scepter, its okay to nerf Mesmer sword, nobody uses it. Mesmer sword 3 and 2 are most worthless skills in the game.
Thief is fastest class, when it has that trait where you run faster while stealth, its bugged atm and is faster than the speed cap.
2nd fastest is ele, you can swap between staff for swiftness, get swiftness by going into lightning mode, switch to dagger and use rtl, switch to fire and use burning speed, use lightning flash, and rinse and repeat, also can use fiery dragon sword for even more speed. Or you just switch between staff and dagger and with speed bonus trait while in lightning just chill in lightning while doing rtl and swiftness from staff with lightning flash in there as well.

I put down engineer as worst for pve and wvw. wtf they got to offer to wvw? lay down healing turret so it heals people for 1 second before it gets blown up? haaha. and as pve goes, why kitten you go engineer they suck at getting around, the only good thing they good at is using grenades underwater.
if engineer had ability to repair walls or build siege x3 of effectiveness then they’d be worth a kitten in wvw, oh and repair siege with wrench.

Why kitten anet spend time making ugly kitten armor is beyond me. Especially when its high end type armor too. And most of the medium armor is ugly as hell, so pretty much anything is better when it comes to medium armor, even the heavy armor don’t look that amazing but its better than medium armor.
I agree, you want pve stuff do pve, you want pvp stuff do pvp.
They did that with the fused gauntlets, but everything after that seems to have been like pve or pvp.
For PvE and WvW I voted engineer as worst, they too slow, knockbacks aren’t really worth a kitten against npcs and hgh build isn’t that amazing as it is in pvp. But in PvP I voted warrior, because they are strongest in pve and decent in wvw but in pvp they suck real bad, I should’ve voted ranger but with everyone playing with necros warrior sucks against necros, if everyone played BM rangers or thieves then warriors wouldn’t be that bad though because rangers are terrible. Rock paper scissors right now, and everyone is playing paper of course I voted rock the worst, when the meta changes maybe I’ll chose scissors or paper as the worst.

That’s all rangers do though is autoattack or they spam dodge with there sword, never known rangers to do anything else. Hence why I hate rangers on my team cuz they worthless piece of kitten. Even before this patch I preferred to have on my team and hated playing against necromancers. I’d rather have any class but a ranger on my team.
Team stacking is a huge problem in hotjoins. I see people switch to the winning team every single match. I also see people camping spectator mode to see which team comes out ahead in the first few minutes and joining that team.

I agree, very disappointing how Gw1 had perfectly made features and Gw2 doesn’t even bother with them.
Hate to be the naysayer but, theres just not that much hype in pvp right now to get people to not play the game for a couple of hours to watch some people play in a tournament.
The pvp department isn’t hyping the pvp to the pve and wvw that good. In GW1 you’d get a message saying such and such won the halls of heroes yada yada yada, I’m very surprised GW2 doesn’t do this. Pretty much a let down to say nonetheless.
If they added rewards like ascended rings, 50 laurels, 10 guild commodations, 5000 gems, 1000gold something to incite the pve’er or wvw’er to participate in them, then you’d have a crowd to watch the videos because people want to know whose going to win it.
Right now its pretty much same teams duking it out week after week, its pretty boring nonetheless. Although the playerbase community offers such rewards, its not being properly advertised. The pvp community is small, you need to advertise to pve and wvw and get there attention to pvp.
I don’t want to see team sleepy fight sotg again, and again, I want to see some wvw rednecks and pve farmers come to pvp just to woop team sleepy and sotg and call them newbs in a big tournament collect there 1000gold and go back to pve and wvw.
The nice thing about pvp is that those good players from wvw and pve can come to pvp ANYTIME and participate in tournaments.
But that list is empty, theres been a little too much tournaments in last few weeks if you ask me, and I only watched a little bit of one of them because I’d rather play the game then watch a tournament. Perhaps if the tournament was big enough where I was in it, I’d have more incentive to watch it and see how the team that beat mine or the team im about to go up against is doing. Also I don’t even know most of these people in game, so why would I watch people that I don’t even know, they aren’t amazing good or anything, they just got a good team, I solo que so I don’t even give a kitten about premades duking it out especially when I don’t even know any of them and I’ve played 300 games as a premade was between 300-80% while playing with teams. If they had real tournament system where I would actually face these so called good for nothings then I would respectfully watch them in player made/ spectated tournaments, but since you have this fake kitten tournament where your always playing against people around your skill level, you just never see the top players. Sure they may have made it so you keep doing 2 team tournament and you gotta keep winning to see the good players, but what is better is a 8 team or bigger tournament where your set with 2 weak teams facing each other, 2 better than weak teams facing each other, 2 weaker than best teams facing each other and 2 strong teams facing each other, next the weak face the better than weak and the stong faces the weaker than strong than final game is the winner of those two, that way the weak teams have a chance to see the best teams. But the current system you’ll never see them in tournament play because its all leaderboard play, there is no tournament, its just a lie. Also people not on leaderboards shouldn’t be winning tournaments, they should win a few games in the tournament but the whole tournament shouldn’t be won. And you cant do that in 2 team tournaments because 2 teams ISNT a tournament. hence why tournament rewards are out of hand and why items are being salvaged because people have over abundance of tournament chests because they are winning them since its so easy to win them due to just having to face 1 team of equal value rather than going through a real tournament and really winning the tournament rewards.
But so far all these player made/ spectated tournaments have been small as kitten…. Theres a million of us here and we just got these small as kitten tournaments, are you serious???
If they had a /tournament emote and rank you on tournament wins (not this fake kitten anytime 2 team tournament I’m talking about promoted and real tournaments) there would be an incentive for pvp players to be apart of them.
This game is in serious need of real weekly or monthly tournaments. And its taking too kitten long for the developers to come up with this, hence why its going to be noted in history as failure esports game, just like swtor is noted as all voice and most expensive mmorpg failure.
Video games are like restaurants, if they are good people will continue to come, if they are disappointment people wont come back and it will take an arm and a leg of advertising to get them to come back because they found another restaurant that meets there needs or in our case another MMORPG to meet there needs. And Guild Wars 2 sure hasn’t lived up to our expectations of esports. It was a huge letdown to say nonetheless and like everyone says “first impression is everything”

Thing is people join winning team on purpose, its glory farming. The people leaving are people trying out pvp. Its old news that people stack team to farm other people for glory. The developers didn’t want hotjoins to be newb friendly hence why they added you chose your team in hotjoins. If your smart you’ll pick the team the rank 67 guy is on, or the team that has people with 300+ glory.
You guys need to realize thakittens going to be harder to get glory. Its insanely easy to get now, hence why several people are higher ranks than the top 10 in NA and top 10 EU. The highest rank people don’t play tpvp because you cant farm newbs in tpvp, tpvp glory reward is a joke compared to how you can get it by farming newbs…. 400 glory + booster is like what 600+ glory a game. OR you can get 150 glory avg a tpvp game with glory booster making it 225 glory plus 200 glory reward making it 425 glory a game, plus that wait time makes it so you get hotjoin glory twice before you get the tpvp glory, so its like 1200+ glory hotjoin in amount of time to get tpvp 425 glory. No wonder people on top 10 leaderboards are still in there 50s while hotjoiners are in the 60s.
As always I enjoy posting this img, I’d post a new one but I just haven’t been playing GW2 as much lately… I should farm glory though before they put some limit on glory in hotjoins.
But yeah, there shouldn’t be a autobalance, because we don’t want to make this game newb friendly, we want to have 0 growth and make newbs not welcomed as in stacking teams and DOMINATING there kitten.
A rank 1 shouldn’t be playing in hotjoin, its not friendly to you. Go play some tournaments instead. Learn how game works in tournament play, than when you figure it out come to hotjoin and farm dumb rank 1s that think hotjoin is for them.

I personally have given up on my engineer (had 1400 tourney matches on him). Everything an engineer can do, someone else can do better.

No one has as many knockbacks as an engineer. Engineer can pull you, knockback you, blowout you, immobilize you and daze you. A guardian can do a few knockbacks but an engineer can do chain knockbacks.
You ever been in downed state and engineer drops big ol bomb on you to blow you off the node than just laugh at you and not finish you. Engineers are well known for that, you don’t see other classes do it better than the engineer.
As for shield 5 its better if you throw it because it dazes people in its path. Its not suppose to be hit, its suppose to block attacks than daze people, using the stun portion is only good if you’re setting up someone to spike the guy you stun.
Engineer is best class right now for taking nodes away from the other team especially 1v1 vs a guardian bunker. You may not be able to capture it, but the node is neuted and therefore they get no points per tick and you start to win by keeping it neuted while bunkering against another bunker and with this condition high teams out there, automated response 100% immune to conditions works extremely well as well as the 100% regen boon, and you should have protection boon from your utilities or vigor or swiftness all you need to do is avoid spike damage and you will be holding 3 people for a good amount of time if they all they do is conditions AND since your fighting on the far node, its neuted you will eventually bring all the fight to there node while you have other 2 nodes or should have them, which leads to a victory.
4. Any word on the improvments being developed for Engineer Turrets to be more viable in sPvP and even more so in WvW?
I’d like to know there thoughts on turrets as well. Not necessarily supply crate but actually using turrets in your utility skills. As a bunker I prefer knockback type build over using turrets in 1v1 fights, in 3v3 fights the net turret would be nice when attacking a node, but thing is turrets get smashed in 3v3 fights quickly. Perhaps if turrets had AE immobilize and damage it would compensate for how quickly they get smashed or if they simply shot faster. If it was slight faster then I could give up a knockback and still able to chain knockback for a time while timing it with the immobilize from the turret, which would be nice for far node takeover in 1v1 scene.
Right now engineers are more known for hgh and elixirs than they are by there turret builds. You should just chance there names to medics if all you want is bunch of people running with elixirs.
Please discuss the engineer nerfs and take what ostricheggs said. Please also take about the randomness on engineer skills. Nowbody likes it
Peeps just mad that when they get hit by massive condi attack they cant just stunbreak out of what they are in and thow elixir go down and pop back up free of conditions. If someone knows that they have elixir there should be a counter and this is a welcoming change. If any class should get a jail free card like this when it was before the nerf, it should be rangers because rangers are the survival class, it shouldn’t be engineer. The only thing rangers have is pets rezzing you, but a instant self rez always beats a noninstant rez.
Also the randomness you speak of, I just want to let you know not everyone plays hgh engy and people have been playing bunker engies and just so you know, bunker engy is just as good as a guardian bunker. If a jail free card hurt you so much then it was overpowered. Its not like they nerfed your damage, they just made it harder for you to get out of jail for free. IoL don’t have stunbreak, neither does glyph of renewal and you cant use either of those on yourself.
This new push with necromancers if anything, pushed people to look at there defensive utilities because too many people running full offensive, which is nice also a nice change.
However talking about professions all day will lead to nothing being discussed about the actual improvements of pvp itself. Just because your not as powerful as you once were and now you have a new threat which your build isn’t good dealing with doesn’t mean the sotg for pvp should be a whinefest on professions.
I’d rather see improvements on maps, solo que, leaderboards, rewards, matchmaking, actual tournaments, game modes, and more customization options to custom arenas rather than watch them move the balance scale over and over again.
You can move that balance scale all you want, but it’ll never bring in more people, all it does is make current players happy or mad.
I could play as the overpowered necro you all talk about, but if I’m on a team with a rank 1 or going up against full premade, or having 1 man missing on my team, or playing against same premade that stomped me twice or 1 or more guys are afk. It wont matter if necro is overpowered because the game itself is too kittened up to even play.
That’s why solo que has to be a huge priority and those people in sotg if they want to know what current solo que is about, then they should go through 20 games of it and screenshot the games, and when they come out of those 20 games, they too will realized how kittened up it is and understand why people don’t like playing pvp and know how it feels when people talk about being farmed in pvp or when people talk about ragequitters and how frustrated they are when they make posts about it. Because they went through several unfair matchups and finally get a fair game, but somebody ragequit, and then you go through more unfair matchups.
Also I know necros aren’t overpowered, just using it as example.
So I just played a solo que game 5 mins ago and typical solo que game, its 5v3, it don’t matter if that guys playing the meta nec build or if warriors and thieves suck, you have 3 people and we have 5 you will lose 99% chance especially if its a solo que. It was 4v5 but someone ragequit due to that. People are ragequitting because unfair matchups not necessarily because they got facerolled. Just look at that img, that one guy told me “been getting a lot of games like this”.
Do you think constant games like this is not healthy for the growth of pvp, it wont matter if a build is op or not, if you get games like this it ruins everything.

Nope there isn’t such thing as one build dominance because the game is balanced. There is a rock paper scissors system in this game. Condi’s beat this, Burst beats this, Fear beats this, Knockbacks beat this, Boons prevent that.
Sure some people don’t play 1 or 2 professions that much because the skill curve is too high to master and its just not as easy as others, but that’s in all games. Even in LoL some people just don’t get used as much as others.
Right now its just too many people playing paper and guess what scissors beats paper. Maybe its about time people start playing rock.

There shouldn’t be a premade leaderboard because there aren’t enough premades around. You’d probably only see 100 active premades, and thing is people switch out the players as well. Like Player X knows people that play on Team X Y Z and gets offered to those teams whenever opening, he plays on 3 different teams, which leads to inaccurate ranking.
If you have premade leaderboards, what if one guy quits and your at the top? Oh I guess you have to start from the ground again because you have a different premade. Also what if your premade completely changes due to you staying and people leaving and you got new people now? What you want to consider 20 people in a premade?
How it should be is solo que leaderboards, and grouped leaderboards, grouped leaderboards being as in your rating when you group with others. If your higher in group leaderboards than all the people you group with, then it tells you your the strongest link in your group of people you play with, it actually tells you something unlike just judging it as a premade.
The only thing that would be confusing is people who play with 2-4 people and if it was me I’d consider them in the grouped leaderboards because they are grouped nonetheless. If they would be considered solo que then there would be a flaw in the solo que leaderboards by people playing with teams of 4 easily getting to the top of the solo que leaderboards.
I have no issues playing solo que with people in already made group of 2-4 people, but when the matchmaking puts a group of 2 people and another group of 3 people on the same team vs a full solo que, that really kitten es me off.
Also when the solo que puts 3+ of the same professions on one team and the other team is balanced.
The solo que needs to stop premaking groups, instead it needs to gather a pool of people, once it has enough solo que’ers and people who group 2-4 people, it should make the correct matches, as in BALANCING out professions, BALANCE out by ranks ( I don’t care if all the rank 10s have higher rating than rank 30s, I still want that balance between ranks) and BALANCING out the people who are grouped already. This system right now will que you up with 3+ same profession and wont change the people around to make it even. Same goes with the ranks, you could have 2 rank 1s on your team (I wouldn’t mind playing with rank 1 but the other team must have someone of similar rank as well and rank 13 isn’t considered similar to rank 1, something similar to rank 1 is somebody rank 1-9).
The most annoying window I see in pvp isn’t really the wait window, its the “hey somebody quit your solo que team that’s been pending for 10 mins, would you like to continue or leave?”
That right there tells me the game isn’t balanced, because who knows I could’ve been pending with a full thief team, the matchmaking isn’t properly addressing profession balance.
The current solo que doesn’t do anything about balance in the game.
They should reset every month and declare a winner every month. That is once they actually get a ladder decay (decay after 3 days no play and significantly after 5 days no play). Come on, these are the basics.
Exactly, they’ve done this a couple times already as well. Hence why you don’t see total tpvp wins in game matchming the one on the leaderboards. Also QP use to be the leaderboards and they just got rid of it.
Leaderboards isn’t that hard, I don’t understand how after 7+ months of trial and error you still don’t have it right. Its not like we are trying to solve how to time travel.

People just aren’t used to being chain feared, since people are not used to this people complain.
Pretty disappointed with GW2 lately. Most MMORPGS don’t bring out new armor models that often, and GW2 seems to have followed the trend as well.
Its easy to make weapons, but nobody ever makes new armor models anymore. I thought this being a guild wars series game it would be different, but I was wrong.
Necro damage is completely out of control, its very hard to l2p against such a massive amount of condi’s.
I think that necro needs to be toned down, its sad but true, if only you could hear our ts during those matches, we had no structure or strat, we just asked our necro’s to kill things and we would assist where possible.You have to have the mindset of level 48+ fractal runners have.
Just dodge agony, cuz if you don’t you die.So just dodge fear, cuz if you don’t you die.

So many classes have unlimited dodge or access to vigor for a crazy amount of time, its not like the developers gave you nothing to outskill play the necromancers… Just dodge it! They’ll go down, not like they tanks.

The only class that would get kitten d by necros now are warriors and mesmers, they lack the vigor or stability or dodge (as in perma dodge attacks). I could see why xeph is mad, because he plays Mesmer. they just made the game more rock paper scissors, no more mesmers can beat any profession, now necros will stomp on mesmers, I like this.
Oh it kittens up thieves in a way as well, no more hiding in shadow refuge! Just nice balancing to game on developers part as in necromancers. Other than that the other professions shouldn’t see too much an issue with necromancers.
I main engineer and I still stomp there kitten.

We hear you guys loud and clear! We definitely plan on mitigating the leaver issue with a form of punishment. I wont give details about what the punishment will be, but it should be enough to deter this form of behavior. Anything we add will be in addition to what happens now (loss and rating hit).
All I got is one question.
If you swap professions during tournament play, does that count as leaving?
Just wondering because I see some high ranks do this to counter whatever the opposition is running. Also see people that play there main then switch to different profession when they got dominate lead because they want progression towards champ title.
I’m also thinking about doing this with my main, but will not do it if it counts as a loss everytime I switch out my toons.
However I think it should count as a loss, because people shouldn’t be doing that. Kinda defeats the purpose being a CHAMPION <insert profession> if you really didn’t play 150 full games on a certain profession.
Rank 1s just need to be rated at 0%, and have matchmaking system actually work and make good matches where you would only see rank 1s if you was in the 0-30% range.
Its pretty sad how they rate rank 1s compareable to people on leaderboards, I was like 600 before on leaderboards and got matched with a rank 1 on my team and everyone else was fine but that rank 1? WTF? Did you do nothing and get carried 10 games in a row and not score a single glory to make it that far??
Treb eh? I kitten people up with treb. I change the tides of battle with it on khylo (dude you cant hide from me in khylo) and my win % increases dramatically even in solo que so this is something I look forward to.
I also love getting massive amounts of glory using it. if there is a cannon as well that is great to hear.
Kinda sad there is no massive t-rex tho

Yeah dude, I was rank 331 before I got burnt out and started 100% solo queing. I haven’t played much in last few weeks and I still got more wins than you at least I’m in top 100 in wins. I’m 62% now because solo que is that bad. 18.2% win chance in solo que these days. Play a game, its against premade, you lost. Play next game, same premade team, one of your teammates remembered last game and he rage quits because same team. Play next game, its solo que vs solo que, but you have a rank 1 on your team, lost again. That kind of bullkitten. Rank 1 playing on a leaderboard solo que match. Since when were rank 1’s considered leaderboard material?
Oh and I have people to play with, thing is I started farming the champion titles.
And yes leaderboard isn’t working properly. Because SAtar hasn’t played a game in a weeks and he hasn’t dropped any ranks. You remember that tournament where MIM came to play on NA? Well those MIM guys are still hogging up space on NA leaderboards in top 100. That 18 wins 0 loss guy is still 9th place.
Leaderboards are still messed up, and there is no decay. Don’t let them fool you.
The only thing there is on the leaderboards is that you lose % and leaderboard rank faster and gain it slower due to all these inactive players on it.
A lot of people on leaderboards don’t play tpvp as much as they play hotjoin now because hotjoin clearly on all scales better than tpvp. Once you have every single reward in tpvp and have secured a spot on leaderboard in tpvp, you can do nothing but play hotjoin all day to farm pvp rank and titles because playing strictly tpvp takes longer to get titles and its slower to get rank.
Oh and guess what I just noticed that dude that hasn’t played in a month the guy with 18 wins 0 loss guy is now rank 7 he was 9 yesterday. If team sleepy losses a game in tpvp and drops down guess what that 18 wins guy will be 2nd on leaderboards and then 1st if the guy above him drops down as well.
Some kind of leaderboard we got here eh?

Sure hasn’t been necros are op and class balance and kitten.
What you need to talk about is solo que.
Matchmaking while solo que. 4 thieves on one team against a balanced team? Oh yeah they do awesome matchmaking. A team of 2 guilds vs a full solo que oh yeah they couldn’t have possibly thought to move one of those guilds to other team. They need to stop with this your group is que’ed up, they need to implement grab 10 people THEN you kittening matchmake, I don’t want to see that menu pop up asking me if I want to leave group, I clicked solo que for a reason, I DONT GIVE A kitten WHOSE ON MY TEAM JUST MAKE IT BALANCED. If I got a kittening rank 1 on my team, the other team better have one as well, none of this 2 rank ones on my team bullkitten.
Ragequitting solo que’ers (obviously people don’t ragequit in premades unless its a random pug which rarely happens)…. So punishment for leavers.
Leaderboards still have issues.
Read the forums, if you pay attention to detail you see this stuff come up every god kitten week because its not being properly addressed.
Too many premade homeboys in these SOTG, solo que’ers get nothing, you wonder why the pvp community isn’t big? Because it aint solo que friendly. Theres only like 5% pros and rest are randoms, the game isn’t addressing the 95% of the community, hence why pvp is pretty much empty. Ok well not empty but its same people over and over again, those people that are new don’t stay here for long because its not a friendly environment. You ask them to go hotjoin? THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. See the attachment. You think newplayers to pvp enjoy being farmed? If you pay attention to threads you see people bicker about being farmed and how not fun it is.
So sick of these premade top 100 leaderboard players in sotg and theres no one to represent the solo que community, I don’t really consider ostrich eggs solo que’er anymore, he got too many friends, he may not have a team but he’s got people offering him groups. I bet hes probably like zoose right now, you see zoose video he was interrupted like over 10 times. No hate for those guys, but if you haven’t been in the % since these last few weeks you aint a true solo que’er because right now its super kittened up!
Just to let you know I don’t want to hear talk about professions for 30+ minutes, talk about actual PvP stuff, you guys need to realize that the balance developers do balance and not the pvp developers. The more you talk about balance the more they will kitten up stuff, the more you bring up stuff like solo que being kittened up and premade vs solo que bullkitten and that bad matchmaking solo que bullkitten the more of a priority they will make it, as well as bringing up things about new maps and rewards.
Mention to those developers that the MIM guys that don’t play anymore are still top 100 on leaderboards, that 18 wins guy is still top 10, that 13 wins guy is still rank 16. Ask them how they think there leaderboard decay is going first than slam them with that kitten.
Leaderboard decay my foot. Sure in 1 year they will all drop off leaderboards and I wont be here to even notice it.
You see the 2nd image, that team I faced was 5 guardians originally, bad matchmaking is obviously what triggers someone to ragequit, and needs addressing. and matchmaking is seriously needed in the solo que department, if there is a reason why theres not enough people for solo que match that’s because people quit after a bunch of poor matchmaking like that. And trust me I know there are a bunch of solo que’ers out there to have a solo que vs solo que match.

I can rank up in 40s in 1-2 days if I wanted too (currently burnt the kitten out), I expect those crazy rank 60s hotjoin heroes made rank in 40s in under a day like 14-20 hours, which I expect they will make rank in 69-78 1 rank every 9 days and 79-80 1 rank every 14 days, so in about 109 days that guy that’s rank 69 or if hes 70 by now will be rank 80. So in 2-3 months is my expectation of a handful of people making it to 80.
The only hinderance I can see in the forseeable future is a nerf to hotjoin making it so you only get a limit like 200 or 100 glory per hotjoin game so it promote tournament play.
Right now there is a hinderance, you cant earn over some number in 400s in glory even if you get like 500 glory it will count as 400 something.
I really hope someone makes rank 80 before august 28th, but I highly doubt that will happen, you never know though!

Looks epic tho, my guess going to be like temple of silent storm and something very worthwhile will be in that tiny little area that you port to. Also has the feeling of Legacy of Foe Fire. Or a jungle theme, which is nice.
Its nice to see games use gothic, medieval and jungle themes. I get so sick of space and futuristic themes.
Quake was a good game
Quake2,3,4 all too futuristic to me, altho I did like Quake3 multiplayer and Quake4 singleplayer, Quake2 wasn’t too bad altho didn’t like the new crouching system and the sudden shift to futuristic theme. Quake1 is the best FPS evah! One word… Grappling Hook.
If it is jungle theme, a giant invincible t-rex spawning when 1st team reaches 350 points and all it does is neut points AND kill people that agro it, would draw excitement to pvp 100% guaranteed.

Don’t know what to say about guardian, but if your Mesmer, pull them and push them around, kitten them up while they invised then kitten them up hard when they come out due to being pulled and pushed.
Gotta use skills that don’t require targeting.
Dueling is implemented, theres a lot of custom arenas in PvP strictly for dueling.
Unfortunately grieving isn’t implemented in pvp, that’s only in wvw when a straggler runs into a camper’s area. Thieves don’t take kindly to trespassing, grieving you is your toll.
Everquest, kill 10,000 crushbone orcs to get ally faction with kelethin
Guild Wars 2 do 10,000 events to get a certain wvw rank to achieve a bonus.
It’s a lot easier and faster to kill crushbone orcs than farm quests/glory/badges.
They don’t call this grind wars 2 for nothing, it takes 19 years for average joe to get to rank 80 in pvp, who knows how long to get yakslapper in wvw.
Grind wars 1 was a lot worse so better not complain, it toke the 1st person 7 years to reach dragon rank, in Grind wars 2 in couple more months 1-3 people that I’ve seen have chance to reach dragon rank if they stay dedicated (highest rank now is 69 that I’ve seen in PvP, 11 more ranks!!)

Escort yak title 10 years
50 years from now you can smile and say you got 5 titles from WvW in GW2 and your still working on the other ones. The only good thing is that titles actually mean something, but is it worth 50 years of your life to obtain??? YOU DECIDE!!
I think so, I’m going for Yakslapper and when I get that title im going to apply for CEO of Microsoft, yakslapper on my resume will guaranteed me a job and i’ll get extremely rich!
