Keep in mind that some professions are harder to master than others. I believe Necro is the hardest, opinions may vary, but just keep this in mind. No we arent ignoring Necro, but once people start mastering DS, I’m afraid of how strong Necro will be. Give it some time for the average player to learn these things. For example early on in LOL master yi was dominant until people learned how to counter him.

MASTERING DEATHSHROUD!!!! are you kidding me? its a damage sponge that vanishes all too fast against multiple people and is hard to get back up because it requires opponent stupidity(hitting you during a spectral) or them to not dodge the fiew weapon skills that build it… Even if you have a full tank of ds they just need to immob you and cc you till its gone natural decay and all. if you cant master f1 then press 5 4 11111111111 then i dont know what to think… oh and consume condition is like a beacon shouting interrupt me im out of deathshroud and need to heal i will give you plenty of time to do so..

without fail if i am fighting a thief/ranger/mesmer and they stealth the auto target will bend the rules of time and space to find the nearest pet or clone its ridiculous.

i was just fighting 4 people in khylo and when the mesmer i was after stealthed it ignored everyone near me and decided the ranger pet behind the wall was the most important thing to go for sort it out.

you can tell me to manually target all you want but clicking on someone who is dodging and runnng around wastes time, nearest target is usually a clone or pet. tab targeting suffers from the same as auto target pets before people

this is not the first time this has occured.. it is very frequent if not guaranteed

then just run condi, it’s an autowin against engineer if you are not awful at playing the build. engineer is designed to be very weak vs condi and cc, especially condi.

on the topic of overconfidence in the community, i mean what can be said? these people have no idea how bad they are and many refuse to change tactics. i tried to teach a new player how to play once, but all he wanted to do is run zerker GS warrior and rage about engineers. refused to listen to my advice, even though i have been playing since beta and him only 2 weeks. noobs with big heads are rampant in this community, it’s sad- with some humility and patience they could be good players.

i love this… did you know as a condi necro you will be within range of all the turrets while trying to kill the engie through – duration runes and purity and healing turret and regeneration…. and large amounts of cc to slow you down even more. the issue isn’t can i beat it? it’s how kitten long will it take to beat it!

in a game all about taking and holding a point for as long as possible that is all that matters… and thats is why people are sick of turrets and adopt the “just fight on the other points” attitude that goes out the window when there is 2 of them =\

so what do you do against a thief who just keep interrupting you? every time i come up against a good thief they just interrupt me do 7k damage while i cant do squat then stealth try to bs me wait till i start to cast………… anything really……….. then its yay another free 7k damage and so on and so forth…

its easy.. in a game BASED ON HOLDING POINTS FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE turret engie comes out king they take longer than any other class to down 1v1 and require specific classes/builds to do so. the time it takes to even get to the engie safely is plenty for his team to come and help him so you die anyway. to take them down quickly you need to take away team mates from other areas leaving them open to being taken

when there is 2 turret engies the standard fight 5v4 on other points does not apply and you are stuffed either way because the enemy now has steady pressure and constant healing while on the point and you do not.

PEOPLE NEED TO REMEMBER ENGIES HAVE LEGS AND CAN MOVE FROM ONE POINT TO ANOTHER EVEN IF IT IS JUST ONE.

i rarely lose courtyard at the start just tell your team " never go mid wait at the wall watch where they go and wait for them to come to you" that’s how you win courtyard.. stay in a blob and call targets.

that’s what everyone claims on the forums (that they are easy and yadda yadda), then, in game, there’s always someone charging head first into an engi turret 1v1 and pretending the turrets aren’t there.

so i have this friend, he’s new to the game, he struggles a lot in pvp (because he’s new), then he tried turret engi and his winrate skyrocketed, he even checks fb from time to time during match.

it may be a non-issue at high mmr brackets but it’s entirely unbalanced in the “still learning to play” ones.

yeah its so fair that this build requires 2+ people to beat or a verry large ammount of time solo while all other builds do not hmmm…

i don’t die to them, its just it takes so long that they can forever keep a point contested because i cant kill them fast enough before their friends arrive =C its like a turret engie.. sure you can kill it, but how long will it take to achieve that?

i can deal with eles engies thieves warriors other necros mesmers (rangers can go die) but every time i go up against a bunker guard they just block everything till the cows come home then heal to full like nothing happened… until friends arrive

so how do you take them down fast so they are a hindrance rather then a plus to the team?

true but am i incorrect with my reasons for why you are receiving these angry messages? especially when someone tries to organise what to do and someone just completely ignores it and runs off and does the opposite resulting in a loss?

i rarely get angry messages because i do not do these things, the only times i get raged at is if i don’t res someone on my necro under a barrage of nade spam from an engie on his downed body… but that’s because im not stupid so…

^ then stop running to far from the start of the game then fighting off point constantly killing the beasts at the start of a match leaving a 3v4 at mid on foe fire… that should be the only reason people start to get angry at you.

its so fun using all of your defenses to stop the thief getting a free back stab and they think it is to because once you use up your defenses then they can just happily kill you after that without worrying.

i kill stupid thieves all the time on my necro be it power or condi but the smart ones are a problem… they will just prod at me until i use one of my defensive skills shadow step away, wait then trololololol all the way back and repeat knowing that my defences are on a longer cool down then it takes for their entire initiative bar to fill up, if for some strange reason they ever used it all in the first place… from then on its a free kill

Power necro is pretty nice in solo, I like to think I do well with it. It is hit or miss though, I very rarely get fights that are drawn out, either I melt the person or I get CCed to death. I started doing a lot better with it once I moved away from the DS LB builds honestly. Just about everything I went after out healed the blasts or just blinded me. For solo, necro away.

and what is there other then ds lb builds for power? dont you spec anything into sr?

so when i vs warriors lately i dodge the hammer stuns and am in the middle of dodging.. it has used my adrenaline but i am still being hit by the attacks wtf!!!

why bother with this… there have been countless suggestions on how to make necro more viable and each update they are ignored and sometimes go as far as nerfing necro traits even more for some strange reason…. they have revenant that’s all they are going to focus on now so… time to switch and pretend we are still necros i guess

For me it’s one of two things:

1) The matchmaker screws up and I end up on a team of total newbies (as in this is their first or second match ever) against either a premade or a team of solo players who all have “Champion [class]” or “Legendary Champion” titles. It was kind of funny the first time, less so the fifth in a row.

2) I end up on a team of people who are completely unable to have fun on a map and they spend the entire time screaming bloody murder at anyone who wants to do something other than rush mid and die repeatedly.

Since I pretty much only play unranked, the second one baffles me. If you want to be super serious about your spvp, why not play ranked? Why get angry enough to bust an artery at people who just want to have fun? I don’t like losing either, but I’m fine with it if it was a good match. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to have fun in a video game.

well its fine if you lose because your team decided far is a really good option from the very start and ignores home and mid occasionally… but when you lose 7 games in a row because people do the same thing in each game…

3-4 run far mid gets taken home gets outnumbered they leave far lose far bring in the snowball!!

it becomes really hard not to express your opinions…

My feelings on celestial are already pretty clear, it doesn’t allow classes to be jacks of all trades, it helps three specific classes turn into masters of all trades.

I feel like this is pretty accurate.

i also dont see your problem against them… they have terrible lf generation and it takes so long to kill anything if your team knows how to rotate then they will usually end up in a 2v1… also.. blinds nullify all fears

i can actually kill thieves or make them run not bad considering i have not played mesmer much at all but against things like cele engie and cele ele i am having difficulty..

while i was on my necro i always come up against these mesmers and they are a pain in the backside constantly interrupt me stealth more then once and can dish out allot of damage in a short time, my build cant do this…well against a necro it can but not much else

what traits do i need for a good interrupt mesmer or is it just like mine a shatter mesmer with these utilities? im still learning and getting used to actually having a teleport and invuln =o! something to defend myself geez,

and conditions omg! on my condi necro they seem to be able to deal with them somehow at least a little.. if i get one burn on me its gg run away and wait =\ basically.

all help is apreciated

ps i realise if i go 44600 it gives me the traits but.. it doesnt seem to do much damage =s could just be using it wrong i dono

have fun standing amongst all that aoe from ele then with your dagger I dono I just seem to be top player (usually 200+ points per game) and actually be usefull once I started using axe over dagger it just works for me and I find it easy to kite other necros using dagger warhorn or I could just be against really really really bad players

as for axe being interrupted by a slight breeze.. if they run towards you let go of the right mouse button and you follow them otherwise it will stop working

Chill kills. Necromancers have ample sources of chill. Do not rely on one source.

thanks for trying but to get ample sources of chill it usually means traiting blinds for it and then its only 1 second per blind that a nero does not have much of or using focus.. with a 1,1/4 cast time or getting you to 50% health to proc spinal shivers if that trait is taken

I know it might work better but I was after ideas on how to avoid the usual blind 1111111f1 blind 1111111 fear 111111111 that happens every time I face a thief on my power necro not just sp thief… only your other builds don’t have evades up the backside that can be used to avoid any decent attack I have, that is all.

did you know necro has no reflects no blocks/invulns, no vigour and no instant gap closers?

it doesn’t matter if I know a ranger is standing up on a cliff or not, I literally cant do anything about it but try send my team mates up to get them and find a place to hide I might be able to dodge half the rf and then guess and random dodge that basically instant very long knockback but 7 seconds later its all up again so…..

I also don’t know why rangers b!@#$ about their pets…. you give it the swiftness trait and its a permanent pest to your opponent.. If I try to kill it the ranger will kill me thanks to all the hp it has, if I try ignore it it is there free to fear cripple knock me down. I cant run away from it and it can follow me across half the map.. I wish my minions were like this not that I use the bugged things…

if they expect any necro build to res then they have never played a necro…. it is the easiest class to prevent from rezzing with no blocks or stability or easy and long lasting blinds, i play necro almost exclusively unless i need to learn something about another class, played everything but thief in pvp and it is almost impossible to rez someone if the enemy knows what it is doing.

axe you can burst someone down no matter how mobile they are dagger your opponent can kite you and avoid damage. dagger has more consistent damage axe is more of a bait out dodges stack vulnerability then hit 2 (and let go of the mouse ;s) for 7k damage

i have found axe better to use after discovering i was the problem with it lol still wish the position of your opponent didn’t matter tho.. because i can stay out of the danger area and kite my opponent while still doing damage and the vulnerability stacking really helps your team down that pesky bunker

this thing us useless… the cast time is so long and the teleport rarely works even if you can see the thing. i have been testing the worm after i read this post because it never occured to me that leaving my team mate to a 2v1 was ever a good idea, it seems to get blocked by the smallest of things. in kyhlo i was trying to use it to port from mid to home and it never worked.. even if i went outside the building , i tried to use it to port up to the walkways outside the building and it never worked

is there only specific locations that it will work or something?

my problem is this…. a stupid thief that doesnt leave room for a retreat is a free kill…

depending on how much you traited steal and what class you are fighting it can be a bit over the top.. you fight me as a necro you get a free 5-6 second fear for you to merrily run behind me stabbing me in the back as an example

black power is still a very strong and annoying skill “oh just walk out of the ring is not hard” you can use it more then once if you need to, the indication ring is smaller then the actual aoe of the blind, by the time we have moved out of the ring you have done plenty of damage and then we need to deal with the blind still on us,

at this time while we are unable to defend ourselves you have probably pressed f1 and are waiting to use it against us now im dealing with that granted its not the same depending on class. after all this you have probably not used much initiative and you can just pop it again voila

your full burst for all your skills is 15 seconds when traited my defences take 20 seconds + to recharge traited. not the mention your 15 second heal that also acts as a dodge..

you can abuse your bow to move around rediculously fast imo this needs to be addressed for the fact i can enter a 2v1 get lucky and down the thief 15-or so seconds later you are back…….if that, is bull

this all said.. the aim of the game is to take and hold the points a 1v1 with a thief if you know what you are doing will take time for the thief to decap. a good thief will win because of their mechanics but they will most likely need to stealth hide and recharge initiative after baiting out your defences for the final kill, so its still a win for your team.

when it comes to 2v2 its another story.. your damage is a bit much in this situation against some classes/ builds…….

i have used unholy sanctuary and watched some people try use it and fought against people using it…. it never saved them once, it never saved me once. because hitting like a wet noodle will get you nowhere.

minions are easy to counter aswell, run in a big circle makes them confused.

well after a made a thread about the bs that is lockdown mesmer i have figured out if i let them interrupt my first skill they are likely to go 123 mantra 123 mantra 123 knockback 123… so i literally just stand there and pop ds so they cant see what im doing and think im casting something while they waste everything. this tactic works most of the time

im having more trouble with an ele build atm.. seems to have 3-4 crowd controlls 2 sources of blind and a 123 burst that happens in seconds

its actually a constant 160 damage if the target is moving.. if they are not then they are a free kill for the team

not to mention at all times my fear will have a condition to tick 1k with
