that’s all i see during flights now, you have given easy blind access to way to many classes most of it passive because of a trait tone it down we lived without blind spam for this long why start throwing it out like candy now? its too strong to be this abundant.

the old argument “just auto attack” yeah ok.. what if i cant reach my target? what about the fact hitting some classes causes the blind i wont have it on me till my attack hits then it misses. what about the fact many blinds are random and pulse so its gone then its back, blocks and invulnerability stop you clearing blind.

im asking for it to be reduced on all classes!. make them single activation skill shots attached to weapons/utility not.. oh i burned you and you got blind… oh you hit me causing blind because burn on hit lawl…. as an example

its just extremely frustrating. vent over back to watching my screen pulse every time someone pops a blind or i proc it from random trait or they shove a pulsating area blow me on a short/non existent cool down yay………….

if they baseline fast hands then they better baseline vital persistence. necro also only have one choice of another trait line because vp is required if you want to even make it through a single rotation in shroud

eles have too much sustain/mobility.. if you stun one-stunbreak if you catch up to one they port away they have permanent swiftness and remove all cripples/immob instantly.. at least that’s my experience, they just run in a big circle around the point and there is nothing you have that can stop them

i could play zerker necro and not worry about insta death from well played thieves or mesmers. the damage of all classes has gone up way to high for it. lich is a joke now that you only pop if you want to die they ruined consume conditions instead of boosting the others to make them a choice, the blood traits are nowhere near strong enough to justify taking but them but then i don’t get well reductions (i could before) i cant take spectral mastery with vp..

condi necro had better synergy. i need to choose corruption or terror.. what is this?!?! we had a trait that gave us 1% lifeforce on crit, it’s gone!!!! and everyone else has been given way better condition application (and better damaging condis). corruptions kill ourselves

all a necro can do is bunker and hope it has a decent team or it is dead weight.

to put this in context, all i have played is necro from the start. recently i have started branching out onto other classes and trying them, on every one of them necro is a free kill, this is while i have no idea what i am doing and its still a free kill for me.

no idea how but in a ranked game there was a warrior with quickness every time i fought them and during the entire fight it had 3 sources of cc great sword and no hammer. it dealt ridiculous amounts of damage burning through 24k hp and deathshroud in seconds and the stuns lasted long enough to get off a full 100 blades and i was immobilized

i have tried to make something similar but cant figure it out. any ideas what the trait setup for this could be

thanks for the advice guys =) getting a bit better (i dont insta die against thieves any more >.<) eles are hit or miss but so far it doesnt matter what i play its the same… even necro i can be winning but it takes so long that a buddy will always show up.

i dont dance in and out of the ring if i can help it but they usually drop it so the edge drops directly on top of me and then boom 7 instant burn stacks! na acount eu has 100 more ping bleah

well… i am stuck with the mmr i have. i go on a losing streak where i have teams that don’t attack target and flop about off point like headless chickens. After the losing streak its all good some wins some losses until bam back to the headless chickens flopping about off point vs teams with 2+ eles and premades. why?!?!??!?

Reaper’s Shroud is very much the only reason why you are going Reaper, currently. Making it baseline would make the specialization kinda useless.

and there we have it the trait line is useless and offers nothing good the entire problem with it. if it was good you would take it even if rs was baseline

i kinda feel the nerfs to our chill application, and chill itself are sorta moot now. I feel that GS REALLY needs a big increase in damage, and before people say “but then it’d replace dagger as our power weapon!”, dagger only has the AA, the two is a heal and the three is something you’ll only ever get off against someone not paying attention. Dagger also has much more LF generation, and can be mixed and matched with one of our other offhand weapons, like warhorn. So yes, GS needs to outclass dagger in Damage, not LF generation, unless under specific circumstances when you hit a group of enemies with 3.

RS is just perfect, no complaints, RS1 could hit a BIIIIITTTT harder but other than that, i love it.

Shouts, i am with Bhawb’s opinion, i think they have their uses, but need a cast time and cooldown reduction. And rise needs to ACTUALLY do something.

Other than that, i think we just need some projectile destruction and we’ll have FINALLY be in a spot to truly be feared. And some reliable stability outside of RS.

Traitwise, chilling victory needs to have the ICD removed. Same with chilling darkness. The Shout and GS traits will only get stronger IF their respective skills get stronger and worth using. So….we’ll just have to see. Had a fun duel tonight with my ele friend. He used dagger warhorn and I used GS/staff, me using Soul reaping, Death Magic, and the reaper line. Was fun, fought for 15 minutes and eventually called it a draw because we couldn’t kill each other because of our sustain. And I made him run off point a lot during that fight.

the fact it was a stalemate proves reaper spec is junk you are a necro… you should kill ele’s you can kill an ele as a base necro!!!!!! so how is reaper fine?

when you get more then the allowed transfers on you blind will make them miss.. i have used plague many times today after a thief/engie/what ever condi spike (i do retarget anything i can before i use it) and the signet goes off, the condis are still ticking away on me same for staff if by some miracle i can cast anything without being stunned or cc’d.

i did not notice this occuring before the patch but then again blind was not handed out like candy so…

blinds now block necro transfers thanks to the rng you guys added.. i would rather it go back to priority or give necros a trait to 100% transfer blind especially since it is such a common condition now.

what do other necros think about this? have you noticed your transfers failing?

you do realise as a thief you just need to daze the necro and 111 your way to victory right? shove a blind on them and daze the right skills not much they can do.. shadow step away from tainted shackles breaks its contact and continue to smack away.

it might take a while but by then your team mate is there to help or the necro will have run out of deathshroud

well i used plague sig before the patch, loved it, hugged it, people hated me when i used it. but i swear i can see it fail now.. can blind prevent it from transferring? if so can anet at least make blind 100% transferable since it is handed out like candy to the other classes now?

i watched some of noscocs streams running this build and my conclusion is the people he is playing are really bad =s never see the same stuff that happens to me.. (super stun from stealth burst double teaming bleah things..)

anyway what is the strength from this build? it seems to do terrible damage but when he uses it people melt usually after vamp signet is triggered, what can you do when a guard teleports through a wall onto you slams you down blinds you just for good measure then does his pull and spin to win combo all while you are on fire

i pop my plague signet when on fore but it seems to fail alot or it just gets instantly cleansed.. cant tell what one because i never see damage tick, use my vamp sig on them get blinded and miss or it hits but doesn’t seem to make a diff then locust for a tiny bit of healing.. but by now im basically dead and in ds where i get crowd controlled or immobed to the spot..

so what do you do against this? especially since chill is the worlds most pointless condition now, figured out thats where alot of my problems are coming from . i use to be able to chill an opponent and get some breathing space not so much now tho thanks for that anet

alll in all this is just an example other classes can be just as difficult running this

let’s completely ignore the fact that classes like guardians and eles have multiple heals, protection, invuls and blocks….

thief doesn’t have any of that but hey let’s nerf them even more, the dead horse wasn’t kicked often enough

I’ll be okay with less blinds after they do something about the over the top dps everyone and their mother has and the unfair base health pools as well as take a look at each profession’s defensive mechanics and balance them fairly across all the professions. Atm thief would not survive a second without blinds.

How do you burst down someone who has a higher health pool than you do or more heals and protection as well as blocks and invulnerability, consistent dps as opposed to your single target bursts and conditions that are over the top even without having to specifically trait for them? Why do people insist thief needs nerfs when in the current state of the profession you can barely kill anything aside from other thieves?

its fine to say dodge all this blah blah blah.. but what about the daze they put on you and the blind after blind.. it stops counter attacks and holds you in place when the shatter is about to come =C stunbreaks take longer to charge then stuns do.

you cant evade instant skills on purpose.. so it changes nothing if it can be evaded… it just needs to be gone from shatter skills period or single target at least with a 10s icd

Yea, why not nerfing every good trait/skill on mesmers instead of learning how to handle it. Yessss, lets play Guard for shattered aegis with 10k, or a condi specc for 4k ticks burning. Oh, no, better play power necro for 6k auto attacks. Or we can main ele for massiv heals to not give a **** or aura share to make a insta win o group fights. Maybe, if thats not good enough, we can play ranger for bunker condi builds, with taunt and so funny thing. Or power with stability, 3k autoattacks rapidfire and so on.
Yes lets do this. Lets remove mesmer from the game, because i cant handle not spammable blinds and cant dodge shatter bursts, or because i cant use my stunbreaker when im stunned. Yep, lets nerf everything cool and fun on mesmer, so we can cry for the next nerfs on other classes instead of learning how to play at all.

All I would like them to do is come into the thread and advise us on how the want the necro to play- so we can tailor our suggestions to suit and when they will work on the changes.

Some feedback is better then none.

That would be good, but you have heard it. They want us to play like horror movie monsters. Slow, lumbering, inevitable agents of doom. Not Immune to CC but shrug off the attacks.

Many people want to play necro ultra-glass. Which just does not work. We have good traits that boost our damage with tank-y-ness. We don’t have good means for glass builds to scale even higher damage without buffing the tanky-bruiser damage. All of our might stacking is easily done in Pvt or Celi.

I think desiring that ANET actually make glass viable for necros is a proper request, but at the same time I think ANET is trying to move away from the zerker meta by making zerker unnecessary to do tons of damage.

this is all well and good but if you take this path your crit chance is at best 10% thus most of the useful sigils in the game are worthless to you and your damage is serverely hampered so you wont kill anything anyway through the amount of healing other classes get

because anet have this delusional vision of necro as an unstoppable tank and for some reason think necro is op and have proven over and over that they know less then nothing about the class and how it stands at all.

for a class with 0 invuln and 0 mobility and almost 0 leaps (we have one easy to dodge/outrun one) they think stability is not required lol!! should be the class with the most acess to it even more then warrior who can run away

distance myself against a class that teleports around me placing clones or stands on the point attacking me with staff … ok. so short story is there is no way to target them other then point and click while they just face smash till they see you hit them =C and re stealth

i can hold a mesmer off for a while but thats about it.. can never kill one between removing blinds and standing still stunned on the spot

Watch for the one that is moving in a different pattern than any of the other clones or is using a different skill than just auto attack. Click on that one. I find that after each time a mesmer stealths, you have to be ready to click to target instead of relying on auto target or Tab targetting.

yeah… i know who the real mesmer is but being able to click on a moving teleporting asuran ammongst the cluster f of particles and my screen flashing and edges being blocked out from blind spam in time before they stealth again or i am bursted because i am concentrating on that instead of what is happening…. get the picture?

when i started playing gw2 shortly before dhuumfire nerf (1 or 2 weeks) i never complained… after the nerf it was frustrating but i adapted and still found fun builds, but after that. as anet kept chiping away at our skills while buffing others it started to get to me and i started complaining =C so sue me.

on with the topic how do you keep a mesmer targeted i never found a problem keeping things targeted until 2-3 patches ago when my targets started switching to the closest pet/clone/minion after my target stealths no matter how many players are beating my behind into a pulp.

previous target just goes to a clone.. clicking them is horrible as they move around and our mouse cursor vanishes when the camera rotates and they hide behind/under clones so i click that instead . next target- clones. closest target- clones. so what do you do?? is it my settings is there something i am missing? i would be ok if i am at least able to keep my weapons on them..

or is this their design abuse the worlds worst targeting system ever conceived ?

Mesmers aren’t out of control man. U can lock them down perfectly with chilled, weakness, crippled and or immobilize. thier damage is meant to be top tier, along with thiefs. As for all those stuns. Maby u’d need stun breaks or stability of the sorts, And not go all zerker ish meta. because at this moment in time, they’re is a portion of players that still focuses dps/condi rather then balance it. but at the same time do not expect to tank a burst of a mesmer who by itself sacrifices it’s own surviviability to deal high damage. it’s not that a mesmer can just tank and deal massive damage.

It’s just like an ranger. Also even if a mesmer has one of the leading posistions in 1v1. Remember that pvp is a team game. And those clones will likely not survive any skirmishes. Or it get’s focused down.

All those mantra’s need to often be prepared before battle. even if they heal per cast. in such fast paced battle. that very opening, the very skills that make a mesmer powerfull, intterupts need to be charged up. u can use that moment to strike.

Mesmer will go down as easily as they can down u.

yes lets just run around in a 5 man group to counter that one or 2 mesmers…..

usually for that precious moment when a thief is actually vulnerable and not stealthed or dodging allowing me to get an instant hit on them instead of hmm where is he =C… pop backstab stealth oh there he i…. wait.. not every class can just cleave and aoe all the time.

and what difference does it make if i have it on or off? i still need to click the mesmer who hides under the clones/other people so i click them instead.

tab atrgeting will still cycle through all the npc’s before it gets to my enemy and nearest target is usually always an npc, so explain to me why having auto on will make a difference please

playing mesmer at the moment and seeing people suffering the same thing i do when they see me, pop stealth blink and precede to watch them attack every clone i have summoned wasting skills or stand there trying to target me only to have me drop out and waste a skill on a clone or start fighting the ranger pet attacking them.

unless you are a warrior player who none of this applies to thanks to epic aoe cleave and stuns and fire……… etc etc because warrior
