Yes?? How??? we only had a little dps increase in LB.
15-20% is significant to me, it was already great at long range. I try for long range but in spvp/wvw its not always ideal circumstances.
And I’ve been using Nature Magic IX which is now buffed (Two-Handed Training: Greatsword and spear attacks now have a 50% chance to grant fury on hit. Each attack will have 3 seconds of fury. There is also a 10-second cooldown).
With buff duration its over 40% fury uptime with Furious grip should be close to full time without even trying.
Also use the trait that Nature trait thats buffed up to 7% power, an extra 25 power isnt much but it adds up.
15% of an autoattack, and LB is bad with or without buff at short distances, so, you will change to another weapon or your enemy will troll you with your LB til you die.
Water spirit, 1,5 sec to cast spirit + 1 sec to use the skill + 1 sec to have the effect: 3,5 sec for 6k base heal…….is a focking joke….
That isn’t how it really works and misses several key things:
1. You cast it before the fight, not when you need the burst heal (this is no burst skill)
2. You then get 2 heals (every 25 seconds) where your HS is a 30 second timer.
3. You have a regen like ability with the passive that with good healing goes about 900 every 10 secs or 90 hps. The great advantage is its range at 1000.
4. When you heal you get a much bigger heal and don’t have to wait for all the ticks of regen.Downsides are obvious:
1. Spirit can die (which can trigger another heal if traited)
2. Downtime of spirit takes quite sometime to get used to when to put the spirit out. Just running with it 24/7 will have it expire right when you don’t want it to.
3. No condition removal.
4. No water field.Pretty good for a small 5v5 roaming group frankly. You put that passive with nature’s voice and you have some significant passive regen for your group.
if your fight last more than 30-40 sec, you must spend 3,5 sec to have a heal or run like a chicken from your enemy.

I dont see where they mention water spirit though given what I understand I have to agree… it really only benefits the percentage of rangers that are spirit rangers for one thing, for another their toolbar is already loaded up. With the spirit nerfs, probably a lot less spirit rangers too.
Should be a signet like mesmers, no fuss no muss.
water spirit is WORST than healing Spring, a spirit ranger perhaps could run it but no cleanse or water camp is a big handicap.

Great trait on the wrong class. Would be OP on warriors.. but on Rangers with no real burst skill and minimal stuns? Meh.

Only place where ranger is handicapped at the moment is large scale zerg fighting in wvw. Other than that we are pretty much top tier in PvE and sPvP content.

Traps are pretty useful in keeps.: In keeps?? perhaps 1vs1 , but against a zerg, traps are shyt.
Spirits are pretty useful in roaming.: yes, but if you enemy is smart your spirits die in 5 seconds.
AE barrage is pretty useful in slowing down runners.:and BTW retaliate kill you + rooted in place for 3-4 secs.
1500 range helps for the same reason.: oh yes, if you have 2 fingers to push Q or E , you can evade 99,9999% of arrows, tbh you only need 1 finger ……….
Ranger is Average in 1vs1 , bad in zerg , and Average in Pve.
ofc, ranger is really a OP class if you play against noobs.
-Ranger “special” mechanic: Pet
-Pet have 30% or more of our damage.
-Pet is Broken (crap AI, and we dont have a total control of our pets skills)
-Class is broken.
Can you use a Ranger in dungeons,WvW and sPvP? Yes, you can, but ranger class still need more love from Anet, and we only have nerfs.

We need a REAL elite trap .
I have no problem with the pets, I like them on my side.
Problem is, they’re just useless. Slow, luring, tactic braking, and in a COF P3 they cause my dead at lava balls triggered.
If there would be a mechanics to trait and adjust points on pets, so they’ll behave as we need… would be great.Gw1’s pet skills on locked 8 skillbar was pathetic imo.
Gw2 made a good step, but just a half.
In GW1 you can choose if you want a pet or not, here, we have a pet that have a crap AI and that all good players knows how to kite.
We have pet in GW1 , but GW1 ranger is better than GW2 ranger… GW2 ranger is a hibrid between Beastmaster and marksman.
well this just gave me some nasty idea… how about we spec full nature magic with regeneration on shout spirit heal etc have healing spirit as elite water spirit as heal then full 30 in beast mastery for pet regeneration equip the signet of the wilderness along with water spirit fire spirit and a shortbow? build would go as a full condition user coupled with might on swap and big healing.

Pet AI is crap and we must deal with it.
Example:
If i have rank 500 with my guardian,??why should i enter to WvW with a ranger ??
Now, 90% playerbase of WvW are Necros,Guardians or Warrior , they will NEVER change to another toon because the rank is bound to one character, so, in the end ,this system is a BIG FAIL.
PD: now Fractals of the Mists are account bound .
lb is power/crit build spec,while sb is more of a condi build so you gotta chose… i personaly preffer power/crit and use longbow!! power/crit is a bit underastimated and people doub its power but after you make a proper build and skill you can win against any class… its great on range and even beter 1 on 1 if played proparly
SB have more dps than LB in a powerbuild, LB only have more dps than SB when you are at 1000+ from your enemy.
LB need a root/cripple skill and we should be able to use barrage while moving.

actually i would argue LB is better then SB vs mesmers and thieves due to RF tracking into stealth
As a mesmer, I’d take a LB ranger over a SB one, any day. A LB ranger is one of the easiest targets in the game for a shatter mesmer. Very little weapon mobility. Terrible close-range DPS. Slow moving projectiles. Easy-to-interrupt AoE. Etc. The SB evade alone makes it a better suited weapon to counter the burst of mesmers and thieves.
LB is a PVE weapon and SB is a PvP weapon, on the other hand, Warrior LB is a good PVE and PVP weapon…..sigh

What sad is its actually a really good active.. I am sure thieves or warriors would LOVE +50% on demand, but we just dont have any skills which can take advantage of it.

Empathic bond oh yeah, we need to use 30 points to have a cleanse, but your pet must be ALIVE, and have 10 sec cd, so, is completely random, you CANT choose when use your cleanse.
Healing spring, really nice in 1Vs1 situation to cleanse condis, if you have more than1 foe, you MUST move out of HSpring. or you die.
if you use signet of the hunt to have the active effect of the signet you MUST SPEND 30 points into Markmanship, yes we need 30 point into markamanship to have the active effect of the signet , THX Anet.
are you running a 30/0/30/10/0? signet of beastmaster, empathic bond and 70% spirits.

I see plenty of rangers roaming about. It’s perfectly suited for this. It’s very survivable, it has gap closers, decent CC and decent damage. What more could you want?
Burst damage.
Condition cleanse.
Group utility.
Functional pets.
decent, decent and decent, is a good description, jake of all trades master of none, a DECENT roamer thief or mesmer can wipe the floor with a ranger.
tbh, people talk about roaming, im from BB, it is really difficult to have a 1vs1 in gold league roaming camps…
PD: from 19:00 to 20:00 i only saw 2 ranger in the whole Baruch Bay Borderlands( all people use necro,guardian,warrior , sad, but true).

dude, you CAN roll with entangle, you have videos of people walking out from entangle, and if you use stealth entangle dissapear,a warrior can destroy entangle with bow#3 and a ranger with longbow#5, ofc, you can kill noobs with this supermegaElite.
You can not roll while immobilized, and I tend to drop a muddy terrain ontop of people while the entangle is up to ensure they’re never escaping my roots by walking out, and it gives a cover condition….
You can kill noobs without even popping an ulti, just because you have no idea when to use entangle doesn’t mean it’s a bad elite, it still forces CDs or at least lasts as a ~3s immobilize.
OMG; you use elite+normal muddy terrain to make the elite effective, and you claim that entangle is a good elite….btw stealth “break” entangle.
entangle should be an elite trap, with less cd, but 150 sec( no traited) is a joke…..

any warrior build can kill a spirit ranger if you know how to deal with it ( stuns kill really fast a spirit ranger).
BTW, spirits were nerfed, and in the upcoming patch they nerf spirits too…..

ranger are not supposed to very important in WvW because we are the survival class with the pet.

Barrage had a stealth nerf 2-3 months ago (50% less damage)
