oh yes, a real tactic, run TROUGH your opponent……

i know how to play WvW, but blob VS blob / zerg VS zerg is boring, i have 80 you have 20, your towers/keeps are mine, we can run TROUGH you, you cant defend your gates because we can run TROUGH you, you cant hold a place because we can runTROUGH you.

I think that might be why some of us use crowd control skills..

with or without CC, you can run TROUGH your enemies, ofc i know that blob/zerg players never will accept Body Block, run like a crazy spamming 1 is better.

So they start to run through the front line, myself and the other staff eles take turns putting down static fields, and the melee go to town.

other players can use skills too.

As the title says, would be body block a solution to blobs/zergs??

Now you can pass by players , if you have more players you have a clear advantage, but with body block you cant regroup 70 players in a “tile” of the map, you must play smart , and less people and a “strategic” place can hold a superior number of enemies(towers/keep gates, etc),with body blocks ranged classes will have their niche in the WvW groups , because they will be able to hit enemies protected.

Wait wait wait. So… this means… that everything you posted is everything you can’t beat. Seams logical that one would QQ over what they can’t beat.

All the builds i posted were/are OP, but the reality is that people need to L2P, a Spirit ranger than run like a headless chicken using autoattack and spamming spirits is a DEAD spirit ranger, and if you cant kill him, is a L2P issue.

Angry spirit ranger incapable to succed with anything that needs a little bit of attention, spotted.

TBH, no, The problem here is that each class only have 1 viable build, and each month you have a FOTM class, sry but you have this problem in all games, spirit ranger is a nice OLD build , you only need to play SR for 1 hour to see all their limitations.

Iv’e been around here for a while, and honestly, the whining is starting to kitten me off.
This forum can be split in three pieces; willing, reluctant and unwilling to learn. The wast majority are completely unwilling to learn, or to explore how to play, build and level the profession. Then there is a large group that is reluctant to believe that this profession can ever do anything their “insert different profession here” can’t do better. Finally, we got a minute part of this community, that goes off, explores and tests stuff and become really good at playing this profession.

The main problem you lot face, is that you think this profession is meant to be everything it isn’t. A lot of you whine the DPS, compares it to the warrior. Well HELLOOOO the warrior is the DPS profession in this game.

When will people realize that this profession are not built around the concept of " I R LEGOLAS" and instead realize it is a roaming/survival class. We don’t run around in shiny armor, because we aren’t supposed to be soliders.

Want to know what this profession is? It’s that stubborn old fart living up in the mountains with his trusty sidekick. That’s what it is. Not some shiny knight that went undercover as a adventurer.

I run this build in all dungeons no problem. I believe the reason is because I don’t run with poor players. New concept for many people I suppose.

i can maintain more damage with axe autottack in warrior, and you need all buffs from your party.

Our class is so kittening good than we only need to use autoattack…….yes, nice class concept.

BTW, try same run with no warriors involved, will be funny to see the BIG DPS LOST.

Spirit Rangers are OP!

Best part, nothing really changed about spirit rangers lol

You are forgetting:

  • Spirit-activated skill range increased from 180 to 240 (360 when traited).
  • Call Lightning: Increased the damage by 150%.
  • Solar Flare: Decreased the cast time from 1.7 seconds to .5 seconds.
  • Vigorous Spirits: This trait has been merged with Spiritual Knowledge.
  • Spiritual Knowledge: This trait has been moved to the Adept tier.

Then there was also the infamous nerf to pets across the board, that nerfed the (back then) superior BM-ranger.

All rangers have pets, pets nerf was a class NERF……

roll a ranger and you will see that pets AI is pure shyt, in fact what this poor pet AI bring to ranger class is a BIG LOST OF DPS, a ranger only hit you with 70% of their real power because pets have the other 30%, and it is really easy to kite a pet.

OFC, if you stand while pet hit you ,you could die , but it is YOUR fault.

I am not sure what you mean. You want it to require luck? Because Liadri takes no luck at all. There is nothing random about the fight.

Vortexs are random, liadri clones are random ( i had 6 clones yesterday, o.O).

I’m talking about a class that needs more focus on the class not their AIs.

I have a ranger and, yes, we need more focus on the CLASS, but you should talk with Anet, because when i choosed a ranger i thought it was a DPS class not a support one , people use Spirits build because each time Rangers have a nice build Anet nerf it, now rangers only have one VIABLE build in SPvP, blame Anet not rangers.

killsun spirit, kill elite (240 sec cooldown), bb ranger, L2P, any dps class can kill any spirit in 5 secs.

Not true Ranger has some near immortal 1v1 and 1v2 builds all revolve around regen/vigour.

If Anet fix pets perhaps, but im tired of 1vs1 and while the opponent hit you with 100% of his power in each attack rangers only have 60/70% because pets are useless if your opponent is moving all time, they are too kiteable.

And now people cries about spirit ranger too, dunno why all this Hate against the ranger class.

you can make 1,2 or more mistakes with any other class(guardian,thief,mesmer,etc ), if you have 1 or 2 mistakes with a ranger you will die fast, you cant rely on your pet because in a 1vs1 if your opponent know how to play he will be always moving and ranger pet will never hit him , we must fight against our opponent and the stupid ia of our pet(60%/40% or 70%/30%).

No luck out there tonight. Either not full stacked/buffed or didn’t catch them from the back. Closest I got was 5.8k on a zerker thief. I did clear 6k on one guy but he was an uplvl so that doesn’t count.

Any other class without zerker gear can hit hardest than a LB ranger, sad but true, and you need to be full buffed and stacked to have the same dps . Im sure than my bunker guardian have more dps than a ranger, and this make me sad.

It’s a bad deal to exchange RF for a ranger killshot which will inevitably be a self roots. If Anet didn’t give Warriors the ability to move with killshot, the ranger version is guarantee to be a root.

I think your making a broad assumption in saying that a charge move is guaranteed to be a root. If Anet does that, the longbow pretty much turns into War Rifle 2.0 and would be pretty much be guaranteed to not to see any competitive use. Besides, Rangers being “Unparalleled Archers” would finally mean something if we could use a mini killshot while moving.

RF is nice for tracking thieves but it’s too predictable and easy to interrupt. I would rather see a control skill take its place to help us keep the distance.

Anyways, if tracking thieves is your concern, who says that a charge move couldn’t do that. I believe kill shot tracks and I can’t see why our longbow version wouldn’t.

So you want the equivalent of that which doesn’t root you for real pvp? It’s grossly overpowered. It will not happen, ever. And as I’ve said, asking for a killshot in lieu of RF is silliness. No one who’s used a LB extensively will make that recommendation. There are far better ways to boost the LB damage without gutting one of its best features.

I run full zerk, with 25 stack of bloodlust with maintenance oil/dragon buns. It’s doable.

I run full zerk on Wvw, and i can count with the fingers of a hand, the amount of times i have damaged a enemy for 6k with LB1, zero : P

rapid fire only is good to kill thieves, due to channel, otherwise is a bad skill, they need to change Rf for another skill with less damage but instant.

The shortbow is the skirmish weapon. The longbow should be there for big warfare and the design suits that.
