Just leveled up my Mesmer in WvW (Because is my 8th character and I hate PvE).
I am level 80, with ¾ of my utilities unlocked and 2 random adepts traits.

Players are not only moving from this game for AA. I find myself playing a lot less GW2 and instead playing League of Legends and even single player games.
The GW2 players get bored of this game. Anet is losing a lot of players vs so many games, and I know it only seeing my friendlist and inactive guild members in a lot of guilds.
Seems like a troll answer but you need to use it when you need the virtue active effect.
If the virtue is traited even better. You have AOE blind + burn and might, Block/Protect + Stability, or Purge 3 conditions and regen with small heal.

Totally agree. You are paying a possible skin for like 250g… You can buy an uncommon skin for that amount of gold. WvW skins aren’t uncommon. Everyone can get it after this tournament, and some ppl already has 2.
Transferring for many players is about far more than tickets. Getting stuck in a tier against a behemoth for weeks on end sucks. Granted Season 3 is short but in Season 2, I would not want to be on the receiving end of HoD hordes.
If you transfer to get out of low tier is the best inversion you can do. But if you transfer for stack and win the tournament no. HoD (well, had free transfer) played the season 2 with the coverage of T1 server, after the season ends everyone leaves.
If you transfer you should aim to your next home, a stable server. Not the FOTM one.
ANET is at fault, true enough. But the playerbase in this game is terrible. Mainly because we all talk about the game’s potential, and we all acknowledge after 2 years nothing has been done of significance from the developmental side (culling might count but Bloodlust doesnt). Yet we the players, have done nothing to make things better. Instead we still stack stupid off-peaks on certain servers, still have people tryharding PPT, still have massive transfers and server implosions, etc.
ANET has given up (essentially on this game mode), but yet the majority of the players have not changed a single thing since day 1 and are still somehow dumbfounded that things are “stale”.
The biggest problem right now, is that the game cannot sustain 24 servers or rather the population can’t. The people on the bottom think that the top should “destack”, and that was true 1.5 years ago…. But now the top is only mass-populated at the VERY top (NA 1-4).
This game could be fun again if the bottom 8 servers decided to mass xfer up into the top 16. Beyond that by this time next year likely the only servers with any population will probably be 1-6. (NA)

Players start stacking because that awful server system, after a lot of time playing in dead server getting destroyed week after week, OF COURSE ppl will going to transfer.
-Players try to duel. In a non-official way. Get bored because no support.

-Players try to “BY FORCE” play the game like anet wants. Get bored because Anet never fix their own mode.
-Players collaborated A LOT in CDI, for what? 9 months later a color change?
-Player report a LOT of bug… Still stucked after build a ram, and ressing trough watergate.
-Players tried to play PPT, and tournaments. Get bored coz coverage issues, PvE farmers. And well, you know? Was anet who made that kittened achievements for PvE Achievement hunters and free transfer BEST IDEA EVER.
-Players do Karma train because Anet design the game for it.

The transfer right now is not to another server, the players are transferring out of this game.
That is for WvW, wait 6 months.

Totally agree. You are paying a possible skin for like 250g… You can buy an uncommon skin for that amount of gold. WvW skins aren’t uncommon. Everyone can get it after this tournament, and some ppl already has 2.
In my opinion and of course it is just an opinion rezzing through the gate is not an exploit. Reasoning?
1) If you can AOE/melee/kill a person on the other side of the gate then rezzing should also be an option.
2) Most if not all classes have some sort of “pull” skill to pull the enemy away from the gate before stomping
I do agree with getting rid of the ability to reset the timer.
Is an exploit. Anet don’t made it because they want, is possible because they can’t fix it. And that is pretty much the definition of an exploit. An abuse of a bug in the game.
The same way, damage/cc shouldn’t pass gates.
But for me is more guilty who, being a mesmer, run to a watergate to die there for exploit abusing, that someone spamming damage in a gate. But is just an opinion.
This game needs duels option in pve/wvw, vs arenas (witn pve items) and GvG.

Really? I roam successfully all the time on my necro. Yeah, sometimes I get caught by a zerg or havoc group, but just as often I’m soloing objectives or taking out potential dolyak threats.
Its situational. If you play in a low tier server or non NA prime time you have more chances to not get caught by a zerg or big group. Try to roam in a populated server or main times.
I am not talking about fights, I am talking about “INCOMING! Get out of there FAST” and I reply “Don’t worry, I am a necro” and just minimize to check my facebook.
We don’t need mobility. Dark Path could use a tracking buff and Spectral Grasp could use a reliability change, but we really don’t need mobility.
Defenses are the primary weaknesses that we shouldn’t have right now.
We need mobility for non-zerg wvw. Roaming or what you want, because swiftness is not enough.
Without mobility we aren’t bad roamers, we are USELESS roamers. Because any group that see you and decide to chase you is: die or wp back.
But buffing blood magic mainly the life siphons for more sustain is in my opinion the better option than giving more survivablitiy to DS. Especially since i would like a viable bloodmagic power build that doesnt need the 6 points in soul reaping.
You still need to invest 6 in soul reaping if you want to have a decent access to stability. Unless they’ll give us some stability on utilities in the upcoming patch.
We have nothing, the decision was taken, is a preview, not a CDI.
What I meant was you can’t go 2400 one way, you can use swalk to juke but moving that far in one direction like his guardian can do is impossible.
I doubt we get the leap on dagger, if I had to guess it would be on whatever new weapon we eventually get.
You can if you place the flesh wurm far way activate swalk run run away from the flesh wurm, shortly before the swalk buff ends port back and then use fleshwurm teleport with that you can go over 2400 range instantly but i guess you mean that by juking…
Still juking, is not the same. Every class have at least one dash/teleport/leap under 30s CD, even under 15s. Necro don’t and that is pretty frustrating.
Lets put in this way. If you make a race, one direction, 10k units long, necro will be the last. Maybe mesmer closer, but mesmer can be builded PU with a lot of stealth to get out of everything, and is a pretty common roaming build. And mesmer teleport have less CD than wurm.
The problem with this game is the lack of mounts or unified out of combat mobility. Anet don’t understand the difference between mobility IN COMBAT and OUT OF COMBAT. Mounts or out of combat speed in a decent mmo game if for give to all classes the same movement speed to move around the map. This game has a huge problem with that cof cof nikewarrior cof cof.
Maybe they add a good access to stability in our utilities. Having stability in high CD elites or forcing you in builds with 6 points in SR is a pain in the kitten for a profession without mobility, blinks, blocks or access to vigor. You just will going to be CCed to dead for like 3/5s more if they make you more tanky in the wrong way.
Agreed. I also think guardian mobility isn’t that great considering almost none are useful for retreating, and they need it with no soft CC.

A common roaming weapon set is GS – S/F. with meditations, you have:
GS3: 600 Leap in low CD.
If you see one NPC or enemy no matter how far is (enough to target it) you have:
Sword2: 600 teleport.
Judge intervention: 1200 teleport witn StunBreak.
Basically if you can target a enemy/neutral you have 2400 range instant mobility to get away from bad situation. You have no idea how much times this save me from a bad situation. And i didnt talk about the insanely amount of blocks and stability to help you in the process.
Necro is kill or die. Worst mobility in the game by far.
And still we must suffer the awful lack of mobility.
I think the necro is tanky enough. He need mobility to get out of bad situation and avoid being chase in WvW by large groups.
WvW Roaming: worst runner. The fighting part is viable and we do have chill/cc/etc to help with runners. Personally I’ve never understood why so many roamers work so hard to avoid actually fighting. I’m the kill-you-or-die-trying type.
WvW as a pug: I’ve rarely had trouble catching the random blue dorito. Switch in spectral green-butt-streamer-of-swiftness or signet of runs-faster till you catch the zerg. And I usually survive longer than most PuG zergers as a backline necro.
Mobility is the main problem with this 2 points. As a pug catching the commander if you dont pay attention and a roamer group see you and decide to chase you, you are going to die. You CAN’T run away, maybe if you have something to get inside near, or allies to help you, but, if you are alone, far from everything, and like 3 enemies start to chasing you, you are dead.
The same happen with roaming, you CANT choose the fights. Like you, i hate ppl running away when they are losing. I hate that in this game, where some classes had a huge advantage about mobility “OUT OF COMBAT” but is the core of roaming here. Mobility. The ability to disengage fast and run away from zergs or outnumbered fights.
I agree with you, fighting the necro is great, but outside the fight the problems begins. And the frustration because you only can WP back to survive.

Are you crazy? Do you know the insane amount of time and money that make a new color takes? What do you want, a 2 months delay to change the HUE and add a new menu item? Please no.
For people that actually do play hardcore WvW these changes ARE big. It will increase the ability to coordinate massively and might very well change the dynamics of the game quite a bit.
For pugs or people that mainly do casual WvW however, I can understand why it would look like a small insignificant change.
For commanders color change we was waiting it like in 2 months after the CDI. I think 2 months is enough time to do it. Is something we was waiting for the beginning of the season 2 at least.
Color tags is a MINOR improvement. You can coordinate with anything else, Voice Comm is more important than colors tags. Community and Guilds organization are more important. . On screen commands and multiple icons target ARE FAR FAR FAR MORE important than colors tags. And a server global notification on keeps attacks (turn it on or off optional) is FAR important than color tags.
There is a LOT of core mechanic a LOT more important and decisive than Color tag, golem mastery and a new trick. There is a LOT of thing in the previous CDI we was waiting to be released in this patch, in the general opinion this patch is pretty mediocre for a “big patch”.
The history would be different if this parch was a minor patch 6 months ago.
They are going to give us tags color when WvW is dying most than ever and is hard to have more than 1 comm right now…
Nice try Anet, but pretty late. You should merge server now. But well… if a HUE modification took like 9 months to implement, maybe you will fix the server population when 3 servers will going to be enough.

Read the skills and use it properly. Transfer condition is kitten great. Chill and Poison is a deadly combination, AOE Fear? hell yeah.
I think is a pretty smart weapon, and the fun is in that. The only thing i dislike is that the marks don’t trigger with downed enemies.

btw, you do not lost guild bank items, you can’t access to it, but anyone in your old server with the enough rank to access to the bank can do it.
Nothing happen with your personal bank or your inventory.
Staff backline ele? D/D roamer or gank in zergs? S/D ele? Condi cheese roamind thief? Burst roaming thief? Gank in zergs? Etc.
The certain armor set is a “standard armor” recommended for FRONT LINE PUGS to do not rally enemies, soldier armor (PTV) with melandru/soldier runes. But is an awful set for Eles and Thiefs.
You need to know what do you want to do in WvW with your classes and check the profession forum or ask here again about a good build for that kind of gameplay you choose.

The new commander tag is a PvE vanity item, not a WvW improvement. The whole point of -help to organize- is lost when you need to buy every color at 300g.
They should lower the price of the extractor in the gem store.
I wonder is someone is buying it… Only worth for sigil of generosity… Anet has a strange business model… Repair canister, few skins, useless boost…

What about centaur runes for power mesmer? That works?
Centaur runes work great. With the runes you can actually move around the map pretty quickly as long as blink doesn’t fail.
Why blink would fail?
Because sometimes it randomly does. I think it has issues with terrain also sometimes, but i dont play one to know that.
Yeah pretty much weird terrain issues, like little bumps in the ground that the game reads as being a wall or something. you basically have to learn where it will work through trial and error. It will work on some stair cases or paths up a cliff but not others.
It is a very fun class to play but it is just riddled with bugs that anet doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to fix.
Oh and portal doesn’t give any indication if you move out of range, so if you drop the exit portal too far it will waste the skill and go on cooldown. I’ve found a fast count to ten while running is about the right range. Practice before you try helping with golem rushes.
I think is the same mechanic like Thief shadowstep and Ele Lightning flash. I know where works and where don’t. I haven’t problem with that.
About the portal range, a friend told me how to calculate it with the minimap zoom.

Guardian are the most versatile in my opinion. Good team support and survivability. Can go full survival, support or just full dps. Guardian is also in a good spot in all game modes if you feel like you want to try them from time to time.
Idk why the ppl think that warrior has not support abilities. The warrior has as many support capability as a guardian and more offensively.
5 banners, Shouts, condi removal with horn traited, swiftness, vigor, might, etc. And has a lot more hard CC and a lot of immobilization with leg specialist, fast weapon swap (5s) for horn support. You can go self survival CC machine, support oriented or high damage like a Guardian.
Warrior have a LOT more versatility than a guardian. Warrior has conditions and real range options, Guardian don’t.
Mesmers have a tough life in WvW. I’ve stopped actively going to WvW because my Mesmer wasn’t really rewarded for what I did and, well…. My guild left Guild Wars 2 for another game.
Mesmers are very rare in WvW now, even more rare the really skilled ones that know how to follow directions, place proper portals and use veil nicely.
I remember (do loot bags still give everyone little jiggles in their tummy?), there were several guardians in my guild that used to do nightly WvW ‘raids’ and would constantly complain of filled bags and excessive loot, and I would just stand there, staring at 4 loot bags that I got from a blurred frenzy and my still empty bag.
And don’t say feedback works as a tagging skill. It only really works on lowbies and very very unorganized zergs because they like to range. Even the slightlest organized zerg can have a group that composes of 95% melee / ground targeted AoE. The only thing feedback will be giving you is a small tiny loot bag from an unfortunate, random Ranger up level.
Nobody beat a Guardian tagging enemies with staff#1. I have my guardian for frontline, the loot bags thing is true.
In T2, where i am, Mesmer is pretty common in WvW. And organized zergs play with a lot of glassy backline, plenty of job for gank squads, mostly mesmers and thief and some D/D eles.
Thanks all for yours opinions, i am going to make a Mesmer. I enjoy more the skillset and like a lot the amount of invisibility.
