I ll give you a tip about WvW balance.
Matching the “T1 second place” with T2 servers after they already lost by FAR vs the “T1 third place.” is NOT the way to a balanced match up.

Ashley, the problem is pretty obvious, is something related with character models, NO NPC, players character models. Because everyone has problem and stuttering in front of a couple of players and that issue disapear when you turn character model to lowest to see common unrender one.
I run the game in medium with solid 60fps without Players in the screen, even with tons of NPC. But when players appears the stuttering start even in low.
Changing VSync, windowed or full screen, framelimit, is like ask for “location and timezone” to address the issue.
I cannot use diving goggles in neither of my eight level 80 characters. When I try to make the diving jump I get an “You cannot use this object at this time” error message.
Is useless to try to balance servers in a competitive match, more if that servers involve PvE population.
Factions: Easiest to balance, and you have identity too. You can introduce it by Living History.
Don’t ignore WvW community: And you don’t going to lose to many users in hands of the competence.
Any change is risky. Factions or Merge servers. But WvW is pretty dead even in T1 now.
Submitting a ticket is the best way for us to collect this information from players, but on top of the information requested by Gaile, it would be incredibly helpful to get system information as well: OS, CPU, GPU, RAM, Mobo, and whatever else you feel like sharing. It would also be helpful to know what your FPS was originally, and what you’re seeing now, or if there is anything in particular that causes these FPS drops or if they’re consistently low.
Remember, the more information that you’re able to provide the more helpful this will be to us in investigating this issue.
I already submit a ticket without solution. Because is not user problem, is something you changed in the sep 9 patch. That is the issue. Something you did about player character models (texture, effect, idk)

That is where you should look, in your changes, not in user pc. Because there are ppl with nvidia cards, ati cards, all kind of processors and memory with the problem. If anet employers play the game, a good amount of them should have the same problem than us.
Which one is better for a zerker ranger? Mostly for WvW zergplay.
The idea around the thief class is getting stealthed, dish out as much damage as possible, go back in stealth. If you take that away then it becomes just a squishy warrior.
Warriors have HP to compensate, Thieves have Stealth.
Roll a thief and you will learn their stealth rotation and will be able to counter them with your main class.
I am sick of that excuse. Thief didn’t have only stealth, thief have a LOT of evasions, a lot of blind, and a lot of mobility. And there is a lot of builds without stealth spamming.
About stealth to get out of combat? is like nike warriors, or pu mesmer, always the same. If you lose, you should die. That kitten of “a free card to get out of combat” should be fixed/removed or make every class like that so all classes have the same chances to get alive of a combat.
I’ve been away from home for a few months now, and my only option is to play on a pretty cheap laptop with onboard GPU (Intel HD4000).
Since the last patch, my FPS has improved drastically.
I can run the game at medium settings, and get around 30-40 fps mostly (up to 60 in certain zones where i’m alone). In WvW and bossfights, it goes down to around 10-30 depending on population etc, but thats normal, and still better then pre-patch.
Isn’t it really weird that it got better for me?
Also, if the game is unplayable, i think it’s really time to upgrade your machine (or microwave or w/e you’re playing on) :P
No, that is the problem, the game run great without players. I have 60fps on medium if I am alone, even with a LOT of npc. But when there is more than 5 or 10 players I need to set graphics to LOWEST and still having an awful stuttering.
I already lost my hope about this going to be fixed. Not for the time passed, is for the lack of response of arenanet. I am starting to think they are going to leave it unfixed because not to many people have this problem apparently. Well, is like the end of this kitten for me. Already 2 weeks almost without WvW because of this, and I only play WvW.
Yes please, I want a trick for stealth, because I haven’t. And a new trick called “warrior GS” that give me a warrior GS skillset so I can get out of combat fast. I am going to think about more stuff I need and keep this update.
The closest match ups possible happen every single week. What was everyone expecting for the tourney? To fight those same teams over and over? I don’t get why everyone is complaining. Please enlighten me.
This whole server vs server vs server thing is broken and never worked. They did nothing about it.
Is not just about a balanced matchup, because that is impossible. Because you can get a balanced one with server vs server mechanic. They should change it into something easier to balance, like factions, not servers. Something more dynamic, but not like EoTM, a middle point between EoTM colors and Server identity. Like every else pvp oriented game, that is factions and that work better than this in a lot of games before this.
The tournament is ALL about recruitment and buy guilds. And is played BEFORE the tournament’s start.
Tournaments is about stack players in top servers in each tier, each tournament is a massive migration from dead servers to populated ones. This is how you unbalance more and more a already unbalanced system. Anet just don’t care about it and about wvw.
This is a pve game. Learn to live with that.

Basically the problem is something related with human players. I haven’t problem with environment or npc, even a huge amount of npc, but more than 5 human players and stuttering starts.

Why punish players if you already won the fight? Down state is ok.
Is not ok. In a 2v1 fight, downed state favors the 2 players that they already has a numeric advantage.
Downed state always favors the most numeric team. And is not balance like underwater combat. Because Anet just don’t care about it.
My FPS is lower since the patch. I have a constant stuttering when 10 or more ppl are on the screen. Never had this problem before the patch.

I haven’t the high res character textures activated and i have the stuttering problem after the patch too.
Do you have any specific issues to report? It’s difficult to escalate bug reports, without details on the bug(s) you are experiencing and how it’s affecting your gameplay.
So this helped as bug report Mark? Would be nice a “We are aware of the FPS and LAG situation, we are working on it” or “We are not working on it now” whatever.
Is like an “I read it” , and we will be happy if we know we didn’t wrote to an empty forum, like “talk to the wall”.

The latest update helps a little with the FPS but still with stuttering in front of another players. I had to play the reset with lowest setting and I used to play in medium/low at 50+ fps.
Is something related with another players. I haven’t this problem with NPC.
Stealth is and was an issue in EVERY pvp game or mode. Since pvp exist. The difference is in GW2 you can spam it without penalty.
Stealth shouldn’t exist in PvP.
Well, if maguuma is going to play gold, and the great performance improvement of this patch droping my framerates to the ground, plus the incredible actual balance in this patch full of broken kittens….. I have luck because this week a new mmo is release.
With the current ranking they didn’t drop tier fast enough. Is Anet going to change it or is going to be a 1vs1 in t2 matchup for the rest of the month?
My FPS drops a lot after the patch, I DIDN’T found any official response about this, if they are aware of the issue, if they are fixing it. I make a ticket and I really feel you treated me like a kittened, giving me a link about crashes in TP.

To be honest, when you announced performance improvements like a month ago I already knew that is going to happen. Because your previous work. Seriously, you are kicking ppl out of your game. And this is a massive problem and there is a lot of ppl with this AND another issues about your patch, and the lack of support is EPIC.
If you can close a topic because is against your forum’s rules, and you have ppl for that. You have ppl to post a “WE ARE AWARE OF THAT PROBLEM AND WE ARE WORKING IN THAT”.

I have that problem too. My game used to run smooth and now is awful. I am going to take a break to try another games.
I have not tested yet but some have possibly tracked it down to problems with “High-Res Character Textures” and some have found relief by making sure this is unchecked.
Update: I did not have this checked in the first place so it must be something else.

How to play roaming warrior:
1) Engage.
2) pop yours invulnerabilities and spam CC and damage like no tomorrow.
3) invul ending: Are you winning? finish him. Are you losing? Run away and wait for CD.
4) Is he dead? No = repeat.
Warrior with IN COMBAT GAP CLOSER mobility is fine, the problem is the GTFO mobility. Anet should fix this like they fix the hammerbow build with that well deserved huge damage nerf.
But you have a sensation of accomplishment now!!

This is exactly what happen to me, an odd stuttering.

And is not for the amount of players, or something like that. Idk, my FPS suddenly drops in certain places or in front of players. I feel how scroll even running.
Idk what was the performance improvements in this patch but is awful for me. I was able to run this game fine and smooth and now is a crap and annoying.
-Drops in FPS randomly.
-A lot of damage injected in WvW through a lot of buffs instead nerfing broken classes/builds.
Of course, you want to execute someone with 50% health….

No, what we’re saying is its time to start looking at other games and/or take a break entirely until something else comes up.
ESO kinda blows and so does Archage (at least the beta does), and I don’t know of any other MMOs offering RvR style PvP. There is Eve Online but thats an entirely different type of game, it kinda sucks too and actually, Archage reminds me of Eve Online due to lame PvP mechanics and all the farming, house-building crap.

Idk what is going to happen after the patch. AA is going to be released this month. And the “featured patch” isn’t that big. And after that everyone knows they must will wait another 6 months to another significant change.
Anet didn’t release GvG at time, and duels. And didn’t change the SERVERvSERVERvSERVER mode for anything like factions or something more balanced or more easy to balance.
In the upcoming patch you have a new mastery, new color tags, another unfair tournament and some “balance” changes. No more. VS a entire new game with a LOT of feature that this wvw community wants.
In the future anet is going to live with PvE Living History and achievements farmers. WvW is more dead than ever right now. Even in uppers tiers.

He is sacrificing 2 utilities slots for juking. Wurm cast time is long for a “get out of problem” skill, like thief/ele/mesmer teleports.
And still, any class but mesmer can chase and catch you with a common roamer build. If only one is chasing you there is no problem, the problem is when 3 o 4 roamers are chasing you. See how I said roamer and not zerg. Not always a zerg chase 1 person, only few chase roamers, and that few are always uplevels or ppl with awful builds who ends alone chasing that necro group for a “free bag”. Roamers groups are a lot more dangerous than zerg’s pugs.
And the video isn’t at real speed. That helps with the illusion of “speed”.
He and his group are playing great. But is not the mobility that we are discussing here.
What about actually ditching the entire idea of WvW(vW) and rather introduce some factions you can sign up with, like the Luxon and Kurzick’s of Guild Wars (please add Cantha while you’re at it). Just add a few more, or at least a third. Allow for maps to have overflows, and rather pool all efforts together for the factions in the various overflows. With the megaserver system being implemented elsewhere in the game, WvW(vW) is starting to feel like the odd kid out. You’re no longer really tied to a server in the other game modes anyways. I wouldn’t mind fighting for a faction of my choosing, with fellow players in said faction, instead of for a server.
Faction vs Faction is far better concept than Server vs Server.
This game only have 1 spvp mode. And the WvW… well… is impossible to solve the issue of coverage and population. The problem here is this game was designed for PVE.
No arenas, no open world pvp (in some zones at least), no factions, no battegrounds, no dedicated pvp servers.
To solve the issue they need to redesign the entire game, if not, they will die with this issues unsolves.

Well, actually is arenanet work. OP just point to a very real problem.
The future of roaming belongs to nike warriors.
Nobody can catch you > bunker in a position.
Nuke in seconds > high damage over time.
Reset the fight nuking-running/nuking-running > fight till die.
And warrior have everything, condi, CC, mobility, tankiness, immunities. The most versatile class in the game by far.
Shattered mesmer is going to be nerf and still without mobility and chasing power.
And more antistealth mechanic coming.
The mechanic of nuking and running is just SO good, and works SO great, letting you a free out of combat card that never fail.
For me, in the future, the same amounts of Thief and now more and more Warriors. Both with the same mechanic, nuking hard and resetting the fight.
Roaming on a Necromancer with dire condition build is fun. It gives good heath, and toughness with a hard hitting tick. It’s also not getting really nerfed or upgraded with the 9/9 updates so its still a very powerful build.

While I agree very strongly that mobility is important, knowing your limits and having a good sense of positional awareness are also very important. If you have the latter two, you can roam just fine with 0 mobility. I manage to do plenty of things without ever dying on my Necromancer and my only form of mobility is via Spectral Walk, which I don’t even use unless I’m in a fight. Check your sides and back, keep yourself updated by checking the map frequently, make sure any fights you have are in your favor (not infront of an enemy tower/at an enemy camp) and if the numbers are against you, kite until they’re not.
I’m not trying to disprove you as once again I agree and think that Necromancer is very low tier for roaming, but if you practice enough it’s totally doable and very viable.
I roamed with my necro for like 6 months or more. Because I have fun with it, but is awful as roamer. You can see your surrounds what you want. You can learn how to positioning like a boss, but if a group larger than yours or more ppl than you if you are solo roaming see you you only can WP back or stay to die. No other options.
Roaming is about CHOOSE your fight. The necro can’t. Necro is about win or die. In a mode where everyone can join in your fight and big groups running around that make a necro an awful roamer.
Necro is a great duelist. But an awful roamer.

Nothing changes with the dire stat, perplex runes, or +40% condi food…so the same face rollers will still be the dominate meta.
After the nerf, confusion is no longer a issue as condition. The damage is pretty low unless you are spamming button like no tomorrow.
My matchup is full of nike warriors right now as roamers. And a lot of thief as usual.
1) Lower (A LOT) the Karma and rewards in capture events. Instead give to the player a LOOT buff, maximum 5 stacks, more stacks, more rewards you get from killing players. In dead you lose the stacks.
You gain increase LOOT BUFF during defend events. Defenders has a increase loot in kills.
2) Raise the reward for killing players and add a little amount of karma per kill. Increased by LOOT buff.
3) Add a ICD in players drop to prevent the intentional farming between rival servers. Like 5/10 min after dead you don’t drop anything.
No more PvD.
Top of how to win in WvW zerg fight.
1) Builds/Numbers.

The extra amount of tickets that you maybe could win doesn’t worth 1800 gems.
Transfer if you dislike your actual server to a server you actually like to play in it. Not just for first place in tournament.
however, with increased reveal duration on Sic’em, thieves may get a much harder time to deal with power rangers (i think a new “roaming meta” for rangers will be a valkyrie zerker mix with signet of stone, hunt and sic’em/signet of wild to boost HP and damage.
Time will show. But i think thieves will no longer be at the very top of the “food chain” in the roaming meta. They will be incredibly strong, but their potency as roamers, due to several direct and indirect nerfs, will hurt them.
I don’t think so. The increase duration in Sic’em and the reveal in Engi’s Analize is going to prevent troll thief fighting around 4 players trying to whack-a-mole him.
The thief still have the ridiculous amount of movement, stunbrakers, blind, to get out of combat fast enough and run away and wait to the debuff ends.
Reveal helps to control the kittened stealth mechanic, but is not the cure or solution. Every class should have some kind of mechanic to counter stealth. Like every class has stability to counter CC, or condi clear to counter conditions. Thief is totally fine without stealth spamming. The problem is the thief’s players want to troll in a infinite stealth mode.
For me it’s simple … we need ways to keep people in melee range. Mobility isn’t the only way to do that. Hammer #5 is a good start and it’s not related to mobility at all.
Hammer #3 is pretty easy to dodge even if you didn’t want to do it, if someone isn’t running straight you are going to miss it. Without immo is pretty hard to land a hammer #5 while running (to keep someone in melee range). The only way to do it properly is with JI. And tbh hardCC has short duration in general, is for that we need SoftCC, because it has longer duration by default.
Hammer #5 should be like Hammer #4 in warriors, you should can cast it while moving. That don’t will make it op, and is pretty annoying to use right now in terms of fluency.
