Necro need a leap or something to get out of bad situation. Roaming with a necro is pretty frustrating, you can’t run of zergs or bigs roaming groups, just wp if you want to live.
The OP has clearly never played a necro, but I do agree that LF needs a rework. Having ALL your durability come from a 2nd health bar is extremely difficult to balance, especially 1v1: when it’s empty you’re basically a sitting duck, and when it’s full you’re stupidly tanky!
I really think we should get more access to boons and other sustain mechanics, and have life force become just an energy bar that powers DS skills.
Necro is stupidly tanky because the lack of mobility and evasion mechanics.

Even more easy is to stay away from danger and spam AoE. Everyone can tell that staff eles and necros can grab a lot of drop and actually they can just spam some aoe skills.
Of course you can also stick to bow warrior, but it’s not the same.
Plus necros have a lot of hp. Both necros and eles are hard to kill (try to catch me).
If your zerg lose, doesn’t matter the class. If the fight it’s at least fair, a long range class will let you do your job really easy.
Actually vs good guilds or in servers where the wvw is hard that is not true. A lot of gank squad around, a lot of zerker thief and mesmer hunting that glassy eles and necros. If you play a nuker you need a lot of awareness and knowledge/skill to get out of that situation alive.

BTW, is not about of opinion, is a fact, warrior can be set with all auto (stability, condi clearing, endure pain), and a lot of immunities TWICE!, and its heavy, and high tier health (18k), and have a lot of health regen AND mobility. The warrior is not going to be nerfed. Dont fight against it, just make one like me and be happy, my warrior gave me 6 months of trololo.
Any class can be viable in PvE. If you are worried about getting kicked from PUGs for being a certain class, then I suggest you find a guild that doesn’t care about your class and does stuff for fun. I play both Necro and Warrior. Warrior for when I want to PUG and Necro for when I want to have fun and mess around with guildies or WvW.

I did play both too… and I guess you are doing the staff thing wrong then. All you need is empowering might with altruistic healing and around 30% crit chance.
You have 11k health base (guardian) vs 18k health base (warrior). A lot of immunities (berserker stance, DOUBLE and AUTO endure pain and balance stance) AUTO healing with signet. AUTO clear conditions, immunity vs cripple/chill/immobilize (food/runes/trait or warhorn) HIGH mobility (sword/horn) to get out of bad positioning.
If you want a EASY class, and you want to build it for a REALLY REALLY easy play, you get a warrior. AH healing is great, 0 × 6 6 x is a great tanky build, but not easier than a warrior.
5% nerf in ww and 100b and 100% buff (in 50% health enemies) AND AOE in f1. What are you complain about? seriously? That F1 damage is going to be kittening kittened (ONLY with 1 adre bar) if you know when use it. Should be vs 20% health enemies. Now if you have 50% health you need to disengage (vs that nike warriors) or maybe being killed like a full charge eviscerate.
I think a standart guardian zerg build beats a standart warrior zerg build on both gear required and simplicity.

And IS NOT good or useful in organize group/zerg BUT if you have trouble playing this game you can use double endure pain and double balance stance if you want.

Collecting data and following that “video game design school” steps they made the last guardian “buff”. Buff that nobody understand and month later are still useless.
if they play the game, at least few hour a week, they can see what is broken in minutes. I remember when i start to play this game and didn’t know anything about it yet and commented about hammer warrior damage, more than 6 months before the nerf… cmon, no data collect was needed to see what is wrong with a CC combo of 15k+ damage in a tanky invul build. That happen with a lot of thing nowadays

I play necro roaming and i haven’t problem vs diamond skin. Sure is harder and the Ele can self heal a lot. But if you don’t waste your condi nuke and you use thing like staff 4, scepter 3 or LB you can get that 10% health. Then you nuke and the ele is in big trouble.
Imo, Diamond skin is almost useless. 10% health is pretty easy to drop.
Some guilds in GvG or open field fight run guardian with hammer/GS more DPS oriented (a lot of damage), but always with Staff guardians too. Is the guild choice how many guardians in Staff/GS or Hammer/GS or maybe Staff/hammer.
Staff is great for obvious reasons. Hammer has a GREAT blast in low CD with great damage, and the CC of hammer is great. The back draw is the field overlap if you don’t pay attention with the third auto attack when water field is needed or blasting darkness, you need to know WHEN you should cancel the third strike. GS damage is great, and the pull is amazing, if you can sinc the leap with you team is amazing too. The problem with the GS damage is the retaliation, GS#2 hit 7 times to 5 enemies, if you hit 5 of them with retaliation it will melt you pretty fast if you aren’t fast enough to cancel the attack or can’t recover from that damage after.
The goal of WvW is win the match and positioning your server in a ranking system.
That may be the ‘technical’ goal but pity the person on a server that has no choice nor will ever be able to win a match-up.
For me, it is the challenge of playing against real people rather than programmed meta. I don’t get any kind of thrill in PVE .. maybe the first time when I still don’t know how the new boss will react to any given situation but in truth even that does not get my adrenaline going because I know that fairly quickly, someone will have worked it out and it all becomes mundane again.
Right back when I first started ‘PvP’ – when I played against others with Doom, Doom2, and then multiplayer Quake, it was all about the uncertainty .. how you can never assume or know what that other person is going to do.
It’s all about how you can play against the same person or group night after night, work out exactly what they will do, then 1 night, they can surprise you and turn the tables on you.
It’s about wiping those unbeatable odds, and getting your kitten handed to you; spending hours sitting in a fort to be rewarded nothing other than being able to call in your blob to wipe out the 5 man snipe squad that just smeared you in the Lord’s room.
There are no shinies.. there are no achievements.. there’s something much better. I can’t describe it .. but it brings me back inside everyday. God knows, I’m a sad, sad WvW gamer!
No, that’s the goal. You can have a personal goal or a personal way to enjoy the mode as you want. I don’t enjoy too much the PPT system, i enjoy like you (good old times with doom too) But the goal is the PPT system, you can find another if you aren’t satisfied with that. The OP want an “Item reward” goal, and he will not find that in WvW.
Is like a sport. The rules and objectives are clear. You can have a personal goal, but the goal of the match or sport is clear, good or bad, like it or not.
The problem with personal goal is they will disappear when you lose the interest on it. Real goals will be still there even if you don’t want to do that.
In the current meta, if you want to roam engi. If you want to pugzerg/organize zerg or gvg guardian.
The goal of WvW is win the match and positioning your server in a ranking system.
That’s the point and goal. The problem is you didn’t like it. You prefer or need a personal reward. PvE is for that.
We need more things to use them on or to atleast be able to sell them. Myself and tons and tons of other people have gotten to the point we just destroy them. They take up inventory space.
Without giving any specifics, I’d highly recommend you change that strategy. There are things coming soon that will give you lots to spend it on.

If you want them to put more attention to WvW: buy more gems from the gemstore. Don’t just use gold for gem purchases, but actually buy them. Put a budget in their hands so that they can actually make fixes to WvW that we want.
If you are planing to invest in wvw devs or improvements you are wasting your money. Nobody trust on them anymore, and that is arenanet fault with all those useless GDI or whatever.
Thats QoL changes are TOO hard, Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That. Instead Arenanet is working in the next EotM map, Frontiers of the Mist, takes Karma train at a whole new level.

In the actual state? yes. In the in the morning we took SF (ET-SF-FC matchup) bay with 3 ppl. Only 1 comes to defend. We was only 4 in the entire borderland.
That is not WvW, that is not what wvw players deserve. That is WHY ppl just transfer to upper tiers. Not for win or farm, they transfer for play.
I understand the feeling of community and blablabla, but you can divide a TINY community into 24 servers. What is the result? a lot of ppl WHO WANNA PLAY stack in few servers, the rest of the server are DEAD. That is the reality and the reason of megaservers, because, in low population servers the pve maps was empty. And the same happen with WvW.
Arenanet SHOULD merge dead server NOW. There almost no ppl playing there. When you play in kitten, t3, you realize how bad is the situation of the bottom tier.
No one gives a poop about EoTM because it’s a glorified karma train and not wvw
EotM is like normal www, but more fun.
Where is the fun? There is no fight, no organization, no roaming, just follow the zerg to kill npcs… for karma, loot and leveling up. That is a pretty awful achievement for Arenanet. Is a living monument to maximum fail.
and thrust me, in lowers tiers, if you only do wvw, is not playable at all.

I am in ET right now. I was in SF, SBI (when it was strong) HOD (when everyone transfer to it), in ET right now, if you wanna do wvw you should wait to the night. Take forever to find a descent fight, and you need to roaming like 30 or 40 min to find someone to fight in BLs. After Wednesday wvw die even in the night.
I am not talking about blob wars, but blobwars is funnier than pvdoor.

The community ask for a lot of thing for wvw, like commander tag colors, unpopulated server solution… Well… EoTM was the answer. So no. no more resources and time in something useless only for an obsessive farm.

With megaserver they need to merge at least 12 wvw servers. Arenanet know so well how dead is wvw in lowers tiers. Or offer free transfer to upper tiers, because is your responsability make this game playable, and thrust me, in lowers tiers, if you only do wvw, is not playable at all.

After the April Patch, in my opinion, I think thief is not as deadly as it used to be.
My chance of being 2 shots are much lower now, and many thieves simply just run away from me after I hit them with a few conditions.Thieves are only OP in escaping from open field battle now.
Actually you can kill someone with a thief. The difference with others classes is the thief can try it unlimited times without risk.
Takes a little understanding of game mechanics and class mechanics, so I can understand why the whiny casuals have such a problem with them.

In the actual state, the match up is decided in the first 3 or 4 days or even less. There is a lot of unbalanced match ups right now. A week is just too much.
I don’t like Omnomberry Compote. I think you gain the food advantage when you are already winning.
I like loaf of saffron bread a lot. If you already have a good condi cleanse in the zerg. -20% damage in a hammertrain is a LOT, sometimes there is a lot of necros ripping off stability. And still you gain 20% condi reduction.

inb4, i kill a lot of thief, i have a kitteng necro. I spam aoe and that is all. But is STILL kittened play a whack-a-mole every time i find a thief in a never ending combat because the thief go stealth and stealth and stealth every time when is about to die. And come to attack me again and again and again.
Yeah, thieves need to have all of their viable builds toned down so they have no viable builds. That’s the definition of balance!

Blockhead Magee is right, many of us don’t pop our ArenaNet tags when playing. When we do play with it on, it tends to act as a beacon that draws the enemy in like moths to a light bulb.
Lol, that is so true. If i see an arenanet tag i will attack him immediately no matter what with the most broken and op mechanic in the game. I will log on my Warrior, D/P Thief or any of my condi bunkers and hunting him the entire day. ; )

The problems of casual games… is funny the firsts times, is frustrating when you learn how to play it.
I leveled up 4 characters entirely in wvw. My fastest was in 5 days from level 20 to 80, playing only after work. And leveling up 3 crafting disciplines.
-Buy green items every 5 levels with toughness + vitality, runes, trinkets everything. Don’t bother about damage.
-Pick all the defensive utilities/traits.
-Use all the aeo skill you can for tagging enemies.
-USE FOOD! for experience and the food of damage reduction when you are CCed is awesome for leveling up.
I used to have 26/25k health with 3/3,5k armor depend the class in any level if i change my green armor every 5/10 levels and stacking vit+toughness.
DON’T BE A RALLY BOT! Build tanky as hell!
Downed state is a handicap for betters playes.

wtb, stealth need a rework, no real counter to the actual broken stealth mechanic, is stupid like the downed (rally machine) state and both are toxic to the game.
I don’t mean to suggest that it doesn’t cause problems, but it exists for a pretty good reason- pacing. Two groups enter, one group winds up with a non-zero amount of living players and they’re the winner. Without downed state and rallying, you get a long, irritating lull in group activity while maybe two people go around and start rezzing people. With rally system, the “winning” group is still (theoretically) going to win, but finishes the fight with more people up, so there’s less of an interruption to gameplay.
Again, it’s a system that has issues. But it exists for a reason.
Yes, exists for a reason, that reason is avoid players frustration. There are games with HIGH penalization for death or lose (single players and vs) and there are games without penalization at all. In both extremes is like Hardcore games and Casual games. This is a pretty casual game starting with PvP and PvE in different modes and a game aimed for PvE mainly and a pretty easy one.
Is like you said but with others words, the chance for who died to continue playing that fight. Be part of the fight with a second chance.
The cost of it is revert the merit of the winner, who kill you.
Lets said a 1v2 situation, the 1 maybe handle the situation to kill one of the 2, a merit because is fighting an outnumbered fight, but that guy from the ground is still fighting, hitting and cc you, helping his teammate who is trying to ress him, and that is where that suck.
Downed state penalize the merit of who win. Undoing what you done with effort.
For example do you remember the SEGA arcade game DAYTONA? That game helped with speed boost to who was behind in the race, to make the race more “competitive”, if you was in the lead, the cars behind you had a speed boost to catch you up. THIS IS THE SAME.

Stealth should be removed too. This game has no resources to make a proper stealth mechanic, none of the current devs apparently can solve it.
Spamming invisibility without restriction is the WORST idea ever. EVER. I didn’t see it even in free games.

Rally bot, impossible to fight 1v2/3 sometimes even if you kill them all, rally bot, uplevels rallying enemies, rally bot, some classes can ress without problem like guardian, warrior, etc, no skill balance from the ground (some classes had huge advantage), rally bot, i said rally bot?
But arenanet love it, because they design it and they are so proud of it. Deal with it, we play what arenanet wants. Like PvE through the throat.
If you die, you should re spawn. Or can be resurrected OUT OF COMBAT

TESO? That game will fail after less a year. Elder Scroll is a great single player game, i think a great coop, but vs? pvp? Nah, the mechanic suck for serious pvp. They should release elder scroll 6 with coop instead TESO.
Wildstar is another WoW clone, with new thing, but clone anyways. We are stuck right now about mmorpg. Someday someone will release the new mmorpg experience, like wow did it long time ago.
