this game needs more desert
yeah the number 1 is pretty lackluster but the other skills are all rather nice. i wouldn’t mind if it shot 2 arrows like the warrior bow or had a faster cast time. not as fast as shortbow, but faster than it is now.
those who think thieves are overpowered should roll one in sPVP and get back to us on it. (Lv 80 guard and ranger, lv 2 thief)
The problem is culling, not thief mechanics. Altho bunker thieves are very difficult to kill.

no other class can handle 5 players at once. no player should have a chance vs 5 players at once. only thieves can do it, and they can do it in full berserker gear no less. it’s total trash.

Because a large majority of thieves are played by morons and will try to find anything to prove their class mechanic isn’t BS. Next up: thieves will say bear ranger pets are more OP than the thief class.
well i guess i can understand why they want to keep their massive dmg at the press of a button. with current stealth mechanics thieves could eat a 30-40% dmg nerf and still come out on top.
then again i also don’t see the fun in having an insta win button, but that’s just me.
the problem is that anet has allowed perma stealth, the highest dps and the best mobility all on one class. it’s possible because culling allows permastealth without even speccing for it. that’s how he could take out those vet mobs and be perma stealthed. all we can do is to respectfully provide feedback.
Doesn’t have the highest dps. It has the highest burst(steal cnd bs) that has a 30s recharge rate. You can still cnd/bs but that wouldnt be the highest burst.
Who bursts more than a rogue using cnd and BS? I usually see a fully geared rogue hit me for 12-15k with those two alone with steal adding another 2.5-5k depending on crits. A kill shot does only about 12k to me and a shatter usually hits me for around 10-12k .
Rogues can do the BS and C&D every few seconds, and hit with BS more times if they use utilities and their heal, both warriors and mesmers have cool downs.
A full glass warrior can volley for 10K, then killshot for 12, or just switch to GS and whirling GS into them. Or you can run shield axe and evicerate. The axe autoattack is a nasty little bugger too. I’ve seen glass cannon guardians also down glass thieves(usually 10.8K-14K HP) in 3 seconds. Engi burst can also get nasty, although it might not hit more than thieves. Ele’s have 16K burst, but has a long CD. Mesmer’s also have some pretty insane shatter/furry builds that has low CDs.
Most classes can actually achieve the same amount of burst.

also, i don’t even think comparing any glass class to a thief is relevant at this point given the fact that thieves are the only ones that can run away from anything without fear.
catch a glass cannon class with their pants down and they die to a light breeze. catch a thief and they go invis and run away. you’ll never see them again. no other glass cannon class can sneak up on you and insta gib unless you aren’t looking around. a thief is invis, so kitten you and your eyeballs.
warriors require adrenaline for their killshot, which wears off, making it useless for roaming. it also has an immobile 2-3 second cast time.
why are you even trying to compare the two?
my ranger in full zerk can do a 7k rapid fire assuming every shot lands and enough vulnerability on a light armor uplevel. usually closer to 4k.
a thief can do 7k dmg by hitting 2 and also hit 2 repeatedly on no cooldown. 7K! 14K! 21k!

they say there’s no trinity but i feel like my guardian gets the lion’s share of the aggro. coincidence? i don’t think so.
and people have a hard time getting commander/t3 armor. here now you can pay that price for a whole 5 agony and 5 (!!!!!) stat points.

So I got an Amulet and decided to see infusions. fine infusion costs are unreal. why is 5+ agony resist and 5+ of 1 stat so expensive?
recipe for a fine precise infusion:
250 vicious claws (15s each)

50 mystic coins

no i’m going in via portals. when already inside, switching pets causes them to die instantly.
1. pop-up upon entering LA overflow (is anyone ever NOT in overflow?)
2. TP resetting searches when closed

4. better way to drink all 300 of my karma vials

6. party leader leaving dungeon kicking everyone else

^ my new curse for when things go all to hell. i just did the bubble part of TA exo for the first time on ranger.
it’s totally broken. in addition to the problem of instantly dying when you try to enter the bubble that seems to affect everyone, our pets are instantly killed upon being summoned whilst in the bubble, and longbows don’t work at all. i’m not sure if the bow failing is something that happens all the time, but the pet thing alone is just terrible.

judging from the nerfing i’ve seen, watch this thread get us a ranger nerf while the one with 1000 replies to buff rangers gets ignored.

how does agony make it harder? it’s the same dungeon but you get hit with a condition that hurts until you counter it with agony resistance.
it’s the exact same thing as gear grind. you still need to grind amulets, rings, back slots etc.. and put the agony resistance into them. the only thing stopping you from reaching 80 is agony resistance, not skill.

The quality is pretty bad, even at 720p.
I didn’t check the ending but at least at the start there’s nothing about what you traited and whatnot. If someone thinks your build is strong they have no idea what it is. Some people, especially Rangers, try to search for ways to make their class average, since it’s pretty kitten bad without going one of the 2 builds, so they’re more interested in the methods you use and not a fragvideo.
Also, people like commentary. I’d rather watch a commentary video with someone speaking than a music video. But that might be a bit too personal though.
It’s an interesting video because it show’s a weapon nobody uses, the sword.

the rewards are just awful.
i wouldn’t mind some glowing armor and particle effects, but i guess that’s just for legendaries i have no patience to craft.
you don’t start out as a hero. you go from being a peasant to commanding and army for defending an apothecary.
i should also mention that even if the pet comes back in time, it often still gets hit because it strays so far from you. this is especially noticeable in cramped areas.
i’m trying different tactics, but i still feel like i’m fighting a broken mechanic. coming from a MMO where it wasn’t worth killing the pet to this game, where pets die when farted at is a huge change.
the drop system is tailored to almost always give you the armor you don’t want (light/medium when you play heavy etc…)
I find it very difficult to avoid instant pet death vs bosses like kohler because they respond so slowly after you recall them. there’s at least a 2 second delay before they even start, and then they take the dumbest possible route and get pwned.
I vote that pets teleport back to you when you recall them. i’m tired of my pets being dead 24/7 because i have such little control.
this is less their fault than it is a broken mechanic.
they also camp your spawn. i’ve already been knocked off and i’m trying to revive myself, why are you still shooting at me?
this isn’t starcraft. these are not units, they are players. i’ve found that most real people are not inclined to listen to a blue dot yelling at them in map chat.
