totally against this.
it’s really hard to come back if you fail after the first push and it gets this bad. Personally i think buffs to the losing teams would encourage more fighting.
you thought wrong. I want progression. I want dungeons that require a challenge (after they fix the whole dungeon system). I want something to work towards and I want to see my character change.
If this was a FPS i wouldn’t care because those games revolve around the fun of simply playing, but people aren’t entertained for long in MMOs with a similar design. the point of an MMO is that you never complete it or if you do, it’s right before the next patch.
I’m done nearly everything I care to do after about 250h. i had 250 DAYS in another MMO and i was still years away from getting everything.

i have no interest in grinding 300 gold for the precursor alone. i want content, not crazy grind.
i would do dungeons more if they were actually fun. if the mechanics were there, i would enjoy doing them, but as they are now, they are not something i want to do after i get the gear.
as for pvp i don’t see much room for improvement as wvwvw is based around mindlessly zerging from place to place. if they added arenas for 1v1 i’d be thrilled.

These are the things they should be working on, and the sad thing is they actually ARE! This “scavenger hunt” talk about precursors has potential to be a very nice thing. New dungeons are always nice, and this new one actually sounds really cool apart from the lazy damage/resist mechanic. I just hope the bosses get more interesting as the game gets older, this dungeon will be the first test of that.

i’m cautiously optimistic, but i’ll hold off on the panic until it releases :P boos fights are a big thing for me. there’s a lot they could do. the first thing i would say is to get away from the red circles and make animations that are easy to see.
if it gives me something more to work towards then yes. I have 100% map, i have most of the armor i want, i’m bored of WvWvW and there’s nothing to do.
the only limiting factor to how fast you get bored of endgame is gold. you can grind for costumes, bank slots, bags, armor etc.. but when you have all you want what reason is there to continue?
What are legendaries?
What are speed clears and other self-imposed challenges?
What is playing PvP and getting better at the game?

let me guess… you bought a triforge pendant and now you realize that soon you will have wasted all that gold right?
i guess that’s just life. it’s an exotic and idk why you should get a free upgrade just because you paid an inflated price.

it should be PVE locked imho. keep spvp and wvwvw tiered gear free.

this game needs a gear treadmill in PVE only that allows you to gain gold whilst gaining gear at the same time. dungeon runs are good, but mostly frustrating as they lack fun mechanics. they need to give bosses better skills and patterns, make some reall raids and introduce gear tiers in PVE, and give us some endgame.
the problem is this an action mmo, so making bosses with fun patterns would be difficult. so much skill spam you can’t see anything for the most part means it’s hard to implement challenging but fun elements rather the “oops i just got 1 shot downed” stuff we have now.
I agree about gear grind in PVE. I don’t think PVP should have gear changes though. Keeps it more fun.
i think this game needs something to keep it interesting. i wouldn’t mind another gear for PVE as something to do. i do however like the thought of keeping wvwvw exotic only. PVP should stick to the balance it has with easy to aquire exotics.

Doesn’t really answer my question? I can play on other NA servers in dungeons but not other continent servers is it intended and will it be changed in the future?
you can play on any server you want, but to play with a friend you need to be on the same server.

having played a necro and guard to 80 i can say they have their ups and downs. guard is probably the easier one overall because it doesn’t take nearly so much damage, but later on the necro can be very good. i play a wells/power build so i just drop them and watch the numbers go. it gets lots of CC with a horn, dagger, DS, flesh golem and wells.
both are good but necro is more fun i think. guardian for me involved spamming GS skills for 70 levels.
i rerolled my character when i had that face because the one eye was larger than the other. couldn’t be happier XD

while i understand different materials look different, i do find it annoying sometimes when a dye looks totally different on one material than the other (i’m looking at you lemon!). makes matching it really hard.
i like the idea minus the SPVP, WVWVW, diving locations, and mat donation.
why? because i don’t do SPVP, WVWVW is extremely hit or miss, diving loctions=spending money/punishes players without map completion and mat donation is obviously spending money.
the randomizations have to be available to everybody and easily accomplishable.
i think there’s a way to get it but i’m not sure so i’ll just say server transfer or wait.
the environments hands down. they are all amazing. the swamps, cities, mountains, jungles, underwater views are all stunning. i want to link a bunch of screens but i can’t so i’ll put up rata sum. definitely one of my favorite places :P

When there actually isn’t such a thing as lore conflict. For now, there IS such a thing as lore conflict.
is there anything in the lore that say mounts don’t exist? not that i know of, and even if there was they could say “oh look the asura bred a new breed of X animal” or oh look, new magic resulted in a bigger version of X animal"

I think it’s pretty easy the answer. For those of you that want a meta answer of your “problem”, if you fight and have normal speed, you could dodge all enemies with ease. Your speed is slowed to make the fight even. Else, they’d have to increase all mobs speed, and im pretty sure you dont want that.
And those of you who just want to go through a pack of zombies and not have a single trouble: welcome to real world fellas. You cant go on a field trip in the fields of destruction. Monsters are aggressive for a reason.
except that this argument makes no sense because you still run faster than most mobs in combat.
everytime i go to wvwvw all i see are zergs. and at the end of the day you can feel cool about your 5 man party, but the zerg will roll over you.
yay 25hp ticks should make a dent on my 28k hp pool! healing power does technically help it, but it’s such a low number to begin with it really makes no difference. no point in going for life syphon imo.
that’s really weird that it should perform so badly… i usually get around 45-60 FPS in PVE (max i saw was 86) and a low of like 20 in heavy wvwvw with a phenom 955 and 6850 running maxed minus supersampling, high shadow and no vertical sync…

i would say for fun, but most of the time they aren’t even that. they usually have 1 attack, no fun mechanics and a 100000000000000000000 hp pool.
comes down to a 15 minute circle strafe while you dodge their one attack and watch their hp pool slowly sink.
big warg for a charr, a fern hound or something for sylvari, asura can have a moa, norn can have dolyaks, and humans can have horses.

but it actively punishes you for wanting to change the look of your armor. i do 30 runs to get a cool dungeon set, but then in a month or a day or a week i get a new set and i have to destroy the old set to use the new one?

i don’t see the problem here.
I feel like the targeting system is controlled by a someone with an attention disorder. it jumps around from target to target, always managing to pick the wrong one and half the time there’s nothing at the top of the screen to tell you which target you’re on. when kiting, it switches targets all the time, leaving you hitting the 100% mob instead of the 2% mob. if i’m surrounded by 4 enemies, i don’t want to target the bunny 20 yards away either.
i would like to see it lock on one target and NOT change until that target is dead, at which time it would switch to the next weakest. to change you’d need to tab. also, the current target should always be highlighted at the top of the screen. idk if this is all the result of the game trying to help you, but it’s really annoying.
/hide helmet never comes off on my sylvari. nothing looks fuglier than a bald sylvari wearing a hood.

What’s the point in any other activity in GW2 or any other game like that? Fun. Simply having fun.
Not everyone likes pvp. Not everyone likes heart quests. Or jumping puzzles. The same could be said about housing. Some people love it, some people don’t like it.
(and please don’t think I wanted to be mean with my answer…when I read it myself it sounds a little bit mean, but it’s not meant like that! I just don’t know how to explain or word it differently.)
i don’t think it’s rude :P I just don’t know what you would do with a house… do you invite people over to /dance in it? after you customize it… what’s the reason to go back to it?
in a previous MMO you could build yourself a ship and decorate it like crazy, but it had a very defined purpose as most endgame content was centered around driving your ship around to get everywhere. but i don’t see the purpose of a house that doesn’t move.

basically though, healing is terrible. you can play support but that’s about it. otherwise it’s hit until you die then res and start hitting again.
good commander? all they do is provide a blue dot for a zerg to orient itself off because there’s no other way to party effectively.
