I turned this game after a long break, went to do some wvwvw, ran around a little bit. Later I check the loot and it turns out I have bags, that contain bags containing bags and inside those bags there are more bags containing bags. (yo dawg…)
I felt like something looped and I was taking bag 1 out of bag 2 and inside bag 2 was bag 1 again.
Isn’t this a little bit too much of encapsulation? What’s the point of that mechanic?
Thank you very much for your answers guys, I gave it some thoughts and decided to quit the game for good. I really appreciate some of the alternatives you posted but in the end I haven’t played this game for a year and just wanted to do some wvwvw with my fixed 2nd coop player as in my opinion it is (or at least it was back in 2013) the best aspect of this game. Since the current conditions don’t allow us to enjoy it and transfer seems to be quite a problematic thing from my point of view it is not worth the chase.
I’ve just came back after almost a year break from GW2 and it results that my home world (Underworld) is empty comparing to its condition from last year.
In WvWvW there are usually many low levels and our zerg is rather small. More ppl tend to join in the evening but I wouldn’t say we are close to hitting the WvWvW player limit cap. I guess there was some massive migration when I was not playing as in normally populated zones there are no players.
I wanted to ask is there any migrating process planned to join up underpopulated realms? Or the only way to play with other people is to pay 1800 gems for world change? (I would rather stop playing though than join a game after one year break to farm gems in order to change realm)

They do need work, but removing it is a drastic move. Pets offer a lot of utility and you can control it in contrary to other minions like necro’s golem (generally necro’s minions are stupid as …). There definitely should be possible to customize the dmg balance through traits either making your pet main source of damage and ranger itself useless, 50/50, or maxing ranger’s damage at cost of pet being useless and squishy. That’s how it should be, with a choice given.
What makes spirit rangers op (the same way it makes minion necro op) is the minion shield. You can basically dps freely from behind of your summons without taking any ranged dps since everything will get soaked by your minions as they stay in your way.
If you play spvp you will notice every single decent ranged will position himself behind the minions vs ranged dps classes to block the incoming dmg with pets. This is ridiculous, either summoned minions should be projectiles penetrable by default or it should be possible to rally on minions. As it is right now it is totally OP since 2 spirit rangers and 1 minion necro can shield entire party with minions forcing enemies to fight melee because ofc focusing minions is the worst thing you can do.
Remove healing spells from spvp and remove downed state from spvp as well. Also decrease respawn waiting time. These simple procedures will balance pvp.
If not, rebalance spvp, as it is right now it doesn’t have much to do with pvp.

I’ve had every single one of my classes called no skill at one point or another while playing.
This. It’s usually hurt feelings that makes ppl trashtalk, nothing to worry about.
And as for thieves tbh it is the most nooby class in the game. The builds like signet+venom and heartseeker spam till someone dies- excuse me, how much skill do you actually need to push one button 4 times in a row?
The problem with thieves is they are noobstompers, but when facing someone with skill who can predict your action and your actual position you are dead- low hp pool, low defense. Once you finish off your combo and enemy didn’t die you can as well runaway- which is what this profession does the best. Somehow when you stealth people are standing in place like if they were waiting for the backstab.
Thief in games was always my favourite class, always fun to play with but not in GW2. I leveled my thief to 80, farmed my gear and I’m kind of disappointed. I ran around WvWvW a little and donno what to say, shortbow is my favourite weapon I guess, trolling ppl with evades and SB’s 3 makes me think this particular profession was designed by some master troll.
In sPvP it’s all hit and run tactics. You come, you attack, you run back, regen, attack again, and like that till your victim dies either from dmg taken or from frustration.
Last time I played my thief was something around 4 months ago, I don’t like doing pve with thief and I don’t like the playstyle in pvp. Thief is the most miserable profession in this game and needs reworking but this will probably not going to happen because ppl already got used to it and noone wants to admit the truth about the class he plays.
The biggest flaw is you can keep on restealthing in combat and no other profession has any skill that breaks stealth- I do not know who invented that game mechanic but this forces a certain playstyle to use this mechanic to the best of your advantage. It is very flawed mechanic.
Second thing is you can still take dmg in stealth but this won’t take you out of the stealth so you kind of have to guess where to aim to hit the thief which is quite easy- ofc noobs will stay in place waiting for the hit.
I think thief class should work in a different way, but whatever, dev wanted something new, or I don’t know why and came up with this broken squishy puppet. I do really hope this profession will get reworked in the future.
tl;dr- haters gonna hate. For me thief in this game is the noob class, but this is my opinion- I played thief and I didn’t like it, I hope profession will get reworked but I doubt it since many people (probably because of the profession being supereasy to play) like things as they are right now. I’m actually surprised that higher in the ranking the more thieves you face. I’m joining in duoqueue now and once in enemy team there were 4 thieves and 1 warrior, in my team mesmer, 2 guardians, warrior and engineer. Boy what a whooping they got. Very annoying tho with all the shadow refuges.
Amulet:
Valkyrie’s- for its primary power and +crit damage, also healing and toughness not offered by berserker’s. Berserker’s also offers precision which is not needed in this particular case.
Ok, so how to play it? At start of the game I cast heal to get max adrenaline, by the time you will reach the enemy cd is almost refreshed. You have to keep in mind the internal CD of Sigil of Intelligence. I open with Rifle when there are many opponents and with Axe+ shield when facing 2 or 1. After few rifle shots go cripple, barrage and vulnerability. If you have Signet of Rage on switch to axe shield and cast Burst- insta kill.
Opening with axe is similar but you switch to rifle when enemy is around 60% hp. Switch to rifle and cast kill shot, if they are out of endurance it’s insta kill (evade is such a big problem for this ability).
Today I opened with kill shot on bunker eng for almost 11k and managed to ninja one shot a thief. Axe’s burst hits for around 8k. They key is to apply vulnerability and stack might. Weapon swap is very important- it gives additional adrenaline and might, in this case it is 5s CD, but due to sigil of intelligence being on internal CD you can swap from rifle to axe, harass with axe and apply vulnerability switch back to rifle and execute kill shot.
Blocking the kill shot and conditions are a problem, but this can be solved with signets, disadvantage is you lose skill slots. I thought gaining adrenaline will be an issue but with internal cd on sigils it is just ok.
So far I consider it a fun build. If anyone would have any suggestions or constructive feedback that would be glade. It’s doing quite well in structured pvp, but I haven’t tested it in tpvp yet.
Disadvantages:
Here list is very long, some of the disadvantages are:
-Blindness
-Facing bigger group everyone expects you to jump in and havoc around the enemy team. If you don’t do that and team has no tanky initiator you all will die.
-Very squishy.
I don’t think rifle could be ever viable but after playing a little with sigil of intelligence I see there might be a hidden potential in it as it easily can pull of 11k crits. Going same sigil on axe to get 100% eviscerate crit was a mistake. I will try different setups like hammer + rifle, for cc when sigil’s internal cd is ticking. Right now I’m working on maximazing Kill Shot’s crit dmg and some survival second weapon swap. Probably changing runes as well.
If someone has any opinions, thoughts, etc. you are welcome to post it.
This build failed in practic, but maybe someone will be interested in it, was fun to play though. Got pretty bored by tpvp so I started doing skirmishes with rare builds.
After reading some forum posts about pvp rifle builds and generally in my opinion rifle being super useless in pvp I started to think about possible builds that could be made.
So, I was trolling a little tonight doing pvp skirmishes trying to tailor some rifle build that would be suitable for pvp and came up with this (atm this is a fun build as I keep on tweaking it):
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAneUjcO5utOGPMxBEUBN08wICiiQ9wOqj4A-TsAA0CvIqRVjrGTNyas1M4YxxsAA
The bread and butter of this build are Sigils of Intelligence (100% crit chance on weapon swap). The description doesn’t mention the internal CD but from my research it seems it has an internal CD around 10s.
Weapons:
Axe + Shield
Shield for def and stun. Axe for its Eviscerate, vulnerability and cripple.
On swap Rifle for Kill Shot mainly, as well as some other useful skills like cripple, vulnerability, barrage and pushback if we need it.
Utility skills:
Heal- I always choose Healing Surge
Signet of Might- you might be surprised why this one. Well, Rifle’s Kill Shot can be easily dodged or blocked so I chose it to buff up the dmg and it can be casted while channeling, so when you see block on enemy you pop the signet and they get entire damage. If enemy doesn’t have block on you still get the extra power. Super useful vs guardians.
Throw Bolas- other disadvantage of Kill Shot is that it is easily evadable, that’s why we need bolas. On the other hand I noticed that people dodging are not a big problem so I am planning on changing it to Signet of Stamina for condition removal since conditions are quite a big problem so far.
Dolyak Signet- for extra toughness and stability.
Signet of Rage- most reasonable choice for warrior imho.
Traits:
As for traits I went for 30/0/10/0/30 for maximum power and frequent weapon swap, 30 points in Discipline also increase crit dmg by 30%. 10 in toughness to get Dogged March.
From Strength tree X and XI are important. From first tier I’m not sure if you could go anything else so I chose Restorative Strength.
From Discipline tree Signet Mastery, Mobile Strikes (affects Eviscerate and Shield Bash) and Burst Mastery. Mobile Strikes could be swapped for something else, but since sharpened axes are not needed I went with this one.
Sigils and Runes:
From Sigils I went 100% crit chance on weapon swap on both rifle and axe and 5% damage on shield.
From runes I chose Runes of Divinity for +all stats and extra +12% critical strike damage. Runes with flat +crit dmg offer only +10% crit dmg and have quite poor additional bonuses.
They do not reply and the bugs aren’t fixed. More important is to flood the game with new content and new bugs so you forget about the old ones. Currently there are many issues with traits (elementalists can stun himself with his own skills), every character can get locked in place without possibility to move (with no particular reason).
There is always same talk: “we have different teams for bugs and new content” seems the new content team outshines the bug repairing one.
Seriously, this map [space- one more time great job with censoring the forums] is so bad and is so bugged. Why did it got introduced to the game? Of course the most kitteny thing and the only thing you can do there is push people down, but guess what? The map [space] is so kittenty made that you can get pushed down and get stuck in limbo because you can get up on the bottom floor (with wurms) which excludes you from the battle for a good ammount of time.
Was that the purpose of this map? 0 skills and pushbacks? I could vengeance and run into mobs, but what with classes that don’t have such an option? You are forced to heal yourself up and run into wurms or wait till you bleed out. Either way you waste a lot of time + you have to wait on respawn.
As you can see I’m alive with vengeance on, I popped it to get up faster and die faster to rez faster.
Seriously anet, when people asked for new pvp maps I guess they wanted something more competitive than pinball.
Ok, from what I see the biggest problem is people crave for the points, so best thing you can do is not being a point-hoe.
-Communicate
-If you are at capture point with someone else and you see noone coming, leave it and let him capture. Don’t worry about the points you get at the end of the game, be mobile. Base is secured? Go capture other base or help somewhere else, don’t lose time on capping points in 3 ppl.
-Do not waste time on finishing off the enemies when they are downed. Oh boy, this is so annoying. If you are 3v3 and one enemy gets into downed state don’t waste time to finish him off. Down the rest of the enemies. He is healing? Smack him with a hammer from time to time. Your teammate downed? Get stability and finish off downed enemy (of course keep an eye on your ally so noone does the same thing to him). If you finish off enemies too fast they respawn and come to the point you defend right away with full hp. Forcing them to bleed out gives you much more time and locks them out of combat. Someone tries to revive him? Keep hitting him them both. This is so simple yet usually there is an ele, he gets downed, from 3v3 fight this is now 2v1 because your teammates try to force finish off the ele, meanwhile enemies shoot them like ducks and ele pops the mist form. BAM. now they both are downed and get killed. Ele gets up and you are 1v3, this happens whole the time.
-If you are at one point and there is only 1 enemy I’m sure your two teammates can handle him whoever he wouldn’t be. There is no point to come 5v1. And even if you do that already do not stay all 5 to finish him off, I’m also sure 1 person can perform that hard task. You don’t get points? Boo hoo, just win the game already and stop caring about the points you get.
-You have a chance to ninja cap the base? Do it. Only 1 enemy defending and you can kill him? Do it and take it.
-Don’t fight till you die. Your health getting low and you are on cds? gtfo the fight and come back in few seconds. Noone will chase you and if they will chase you they are bad and you just helped your team. You are much more useful to your team alive, and getting out of combat and jumping back in after few seconds is faster than waiting on the respawn and running entire way.
-Don’t fight outside the capture points.
-Noone went treb? Go take it. Noone went skyhammer cannon? Go take it. Someone who is at cannon/treb has been attacked? Help him.
-Don’t go solo vs 3 enemies. If you control 2 bases and you want the third one so badly don’t go solo vs 3, regroup with your teammates (I don’t know why people run 1v3, die, rez, and go back there repeating the process).
-If someone is marking targets focus the marked target, if he is marking bad, you mark. This is very important, it is much faster to focus down enemies 1 by 1 than fighting 3v3 with everyone on different enemy.
I don’t know what to write, these things are so obvious and people fail to understand the simplest logic involved. I always write what to do on /t chat and when people listen to me we always win. When I say one go henge rest go buff and then take keep someone always runs solo mine and dies there, 2 or even 3 go capture the henge, ending in you being solo or 2v4. This is very sad, if your team plays as a team you won it already. If everyone goes his own way you can’t do a thing. Let them focus that guardian and cry a little.

I’m looking for cheapest/ugliest/worst looking armor to put its skin on my lvl 80 warrior and troll people into thinking I’m nab around wvwvw . The title reads “contest” but only thing you can win is personal gratitude
It’s for charr male. So far I’m thinking about basic white heavy armor. Anyone has better suggestions? Would much appreciate it, thanks in advance.
Did you try this build in WvWvW? I thought about going something like this:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAS5ejcOpwxOGPMxBE0DNsK4iTBlQ9YOsj4A-jEyAYLioZqwQmJEQZvioxWFLiGreBTZSEV7OKiWtQAyGDA-w
People tend to swap lyssa for melandru or hoelbrak but after trying different sets lyssa seems to be the best choice for me. Only disadvantage is you have to activate signet of rage during fight, otherwise its condition clearing is wasted.
After being very successful in pvp I’m planning to use this build in wvwvw in small havoc group/duo roaming/ocasionally zerging. I’m still at the gear farming phase but in theory it gives a little bit less toughness than the pvp build, but at the exchange of 74% crit damage and flat 23% crit which sums up to 73% against stunned targets.
I didn’t touch the traits (I still plan to run 0/10/30/0/30) it’s now matter of gear. So, any thoughts?
Could we get bigger salvage kits in pvp and not be asked every time before salvaging something are we sure to do it? Or some options to switch between being asked or not being asked if some people are clumsy and salvage items without looking what they salvage, and need that option.

Dishonored
We’ve implemented a system that hurts leavers and makes them cry! It’s called the dishonored system and it works like this:
- Not being present when victory is declared will qualify for match abandonment.
- Not moving for 3 or more minutes once the match has started will qualify as match abandonment.
- Each match abandonment gives you one stack of the Dishonorable buff.
- You can only get punished once per match.
- Each Dishonorable stack lasts for 72 hours.
- Players with five Dishonorable stacks cannot join ranked matches.
Something like that?
Yeah, but working
Ok, 5 more games and in all of them someone left. Can we get some balancing around this issue? Start banning people from matches for leaving and make some system with rewards for players who join during the game and stay till the end.
Sorry for misspelling the nick, didn’t know you are Spaniard, I could swear it said Metale under one of your youtube videos
I don’t know from when it was but it is very possible since I started using Defektive’s build due to being up to date, didn’t see your newer one. I think it’s a matter of positioning in google with time as I didn’t search through forums.
I tried GS / mace+shield and i totally didn’t like it. Much easier to kite and very limited mobility. Swapping gs for a hammer and making few changes in traits gets much more control than you would have with gs. Also it is affected by stability, but in my opinion gs + mace/shield is much easier to counter with stability than the hammer.
I still cannot say I’m master of this build but I finally managed to win over bunker guard. I trolled him to get outside the capture point, claimed it and ran away. He chased but didnt got me and we got quite many points for that capture. So I can’t say I beat him to death but surely was a win.
Also what you will get a lot: check attachment.
It’s extra annoying in WvW as well.
Yeah, tell me about it
Is there any merged thread or something? Are they working on fixing it? Can we provide any info that could help to diagnose and eliminate the problem?
Don’t worry, you are only the 50th person to try to claim this build.
I’m not trying to claim anything, goober. When I was looking for the build I only found the Defektive’s one. The one that was posted by Metale back then was:
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAS5ejcOtuxOqQMRCEkCNkLOFUC1D74OijUBxA-TsAA1CnIMSZkzIjRSjsGNQYhw2CA
Sorry I was hoping that I share something someone might find useful.
Besides as you can see his post was made 5 days ago and I’m using this build over a week now. That only confirms how good it is if so many people started using it.
(edited by vove.2768)
I recently started playing warrior in tPvP matches and I was looking for a hammer build, it was quite hard since everyone goes with mace+shield/gs but I’ve found Defektive’s pvp hammer build. After using it for a while I started making changes and tailored it to meet my needs. The build is:
It’s super effective while moving with the rest of your team. You can totally put out off combat 1 enemy player occasionally CCing the rest of enemy team. You can easily solo most of the professions and the support provided to the team is just priceless. Berserkers die within the stunlock.
The biggest disadvantage are:
- easily countered with stability- you have to keep track of enemy stability buffs, having necro who converts buffs into debuffs helps a lot.
- not very effective vs bunker builds- I still have problems facing bunker scepter guard but those you never face solo so it’s not that big of an issue.
Traits:
0/10/30/0/30
IV from Arms- a must have
II, IX, X from Defense- also a must have
VI, XI from Discipline- III is optional, I take it for the mobility. I guess you could also swap the signet mastery for something else but it reduces the cd on both signets (of Dolyak and Rage) by 12 seconds. If you don’t take this trait you should swap Dolyak Signet for Balanced State.
I go with runes of Lyssa. From sigils +5% dmg on hammer and 5% dmg + 15% stun duration on swap. Soldier’s amulet with soldier’s jewel.
So, that’s it. It is not solo build since it takes much time to kill someone but I’m not saying it’s impossible. Moving with your team is basically a free win. There are also professions that will neither kill you neither you kill them (at least in my case, I think I still need a lot of practice). I duoqueue with my wife (guard) and we have a lot of fun when I play my stunlock warrior.
I don’t know, if someone has any ideas or played similar build and has some helpful opinions, questions or anything let me know.
I hope it’s something original, if positive I reserve a name for it: The Nutcracker
Today in pvp elementalist casted static field which I ran into, when i got knocked down I used Dolyak Signet to get stability and I got frozen in place, I couldnt move. I could attack and use skills tho. Ele didnt attack me and was starring at me while in tornado form (he popped it to def the point). I had to use earthshaker to unlock myself.
Seriously, how can pvp be ever be balanced when things like this happen.
I don’t know why but this just got more serious recently. Just had two games and in 2 games in a row someone left. In the last one we were 3v5, one guy lost hope and kept away-from-keyboarding at spawning point, since it didn’t have sense because enemy team was facerolling us we just went away-from-keyboard and waited of from 20vs0 till 500vs0.
People started to quit very often, noone joins, tpvp queues are longer than there used to be one month ago. Is there any plan to repair pvp part of the game?
You can turn off right click targeting in game options…
I made a mistake, the map is “Legacy of the Foefire” and it seems to affect both sides. Also, when you run away from the spawn point you will be ported back and will have to wait till it loads and the rest of the team sees it as people missing. They respawn after game starts and you get to the gate so about 14 seconds.
Everytime I am on blue side on this map it takes around 10 seconds to respawn after you push the respawn button. Loading screen hangs and I keep hearing the sounds from the place where I died.
Rifle build is so bad, Kill Shot is one of the easiest dodgeable skills and in this particular build it’s basically your major damage source.
In WvW though you can try shooting from the crowd as Sil stated, but you will probably have not much fun outside of the zerg group.
For tpvp/spvp? Any condition build is bad.
For WvWvW? Condition warrior is waste of potential, but maybe in WvW you could do some solo roaming.
For PvE? No sense.
Berserker Stance = Reduce Condition duration by 100% for 8 seconds and gain 8 strikes of adrenaline every second
Isn’t this because of a bug? On wiki site it is marked as a bug.
Bug:
Grants full immunity to conditions regardless of condition duration modifiers.
I queue with my mace+shield/hammer warrior and tell ppl what to do while marking targets and stunning as many of enemies as I can so my team can burst them down fast while receiving very low damage in the act.
Communication and utility builds are of the most importance.
did not record it but a thief killed our 20 man zerg last night all by himself, I have never seen something like that, he was in permastealth and casted aoe stealth to finish ppl off in groups of 5.
Never have i seen a thief take on 20 people, and not get a single bit of damage while holding as much dps as he did.
What will Anet buff next? Can’t wait for next patch
Warrior’s trait Sweet Revenge (Discipline VII) seems not to work in tPVP, after casting Vengeance and killing the enemy you die anyway when its duration ends. This doesn’t happen in WvWvW though.
Is it because it only works when killed enemy gives exp and enemies in sPVP and tPVP give only glory and rank points? This looks like a bug.
This was posted so many times already by so many different players. I know many people like asymmetric looking gear (for example left shoulder different than the right one) but there is a lot of players who really don’t like it.
There is a lot of asymmetric looking gear, start making some symmetric ones please.
it was said many times why they won’t increase cap on conditions
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Remove-the-cap-on-conditions/first#post2379446
People leaving tpvp matches and “away from keyboard”-ing (gj with shortcut censor) should be reportable and banned from joining tpvp matches. This is becoming more and more common. The worst thing is you get 2 nabcakes who rush enemy quarry for example and lord right after failing miserably and leaving the game. Of cours enemy team takes advantage of it asap and rushes your lord.
Then vicious circle starts, each new player seeing ~250 vs 60 points after joining during the game leaves right after seeing that score. Yesterday my team managed to get the score 400 vs 260 3v5 (ending the game 2v5). Noone wished to stay in game. This is very annoying because it basically means you wasted quite a lot of time.
Start banning leavers and afkers from tpvp and give bonuses for people who join in middle of the match and stay to the end (either their team wins or not) to encourage them for staying.
(edited by vove.2768)
Pretty sure that’s because they actually have to “move” through the mark in some form.
Not really, you can use it on stationary targets and it will work just fine.
Exactly, and if there is a rabbit eating some grass (being stationary) near the downed player you can cast the mark on rabbit and if the downed player is in range he will get hit. This should get fixed since staff is our longest range attack and we can only attack with “1” skill if you don’t want to get too close.
As in topic, if you cast any of staff’s skill (besides autoattack) on downed enemy they won’t activate.
Today in WvWvW I got attacked by ranger’s pet, then he apparently switched the target and I didn’t get out of combat. I was standing for like 28 seconds hidden behind a rock on a hill with 2048hp left crapping my pants as enemy zerg was pushing us back to SM when finally under the pressure I decided to jump of the hill and died shamefully suffering 4973 falling damage.
Please look into that.
Sorry I’m digging up an old thread but I for example use Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard which has option to save macros. It’s very easy to make a repeatable macro that keeps button number “2” pushed for X seconds, waits a second and does it again. You can leave it on and go away, till you get killed macro works perfectly.
Is something like that prohibited by EULA? You can arrange a macro with 0.01 second precision so it is even able to program it to release before reaching the full bar therefore attacking closer targets.
Thats botting… Did you even read the EULA?
Yes but I am not English native speaker and not everything is for me as clear as for you, that’s why I asked. I found this topic when I was looking for some guide where to place trebs to best of your advantage and I got interested.

The necromancer ability, corrupt boon, converts the stability boon into a fear condition. Could this be what you’re talking about?
Probably yes, it happens to me sometimes when I cast tornado with my ele, it is not a bug, sometimes I lose stability and get cced. We should be able to use utility skills when transformed. Otherwise transform are elite skills that are useless since when stability gets removed only thing you can do is end it earlier to get rid of cc. Now compare it with being turned into a moa, pretty unbalanced I would say.
Since I don’t see any newer topic will post in this one. New skins for achievement points and… such a disappointment- armor clipping issues… The skirt is the one from HotW
Yeah, the might bonus from blood is power is somehow nice, but when in zerg group few people usually aoe buff everyone and I do not feel I need that additional condition damage when roaming solo, so for me spectral walk will be better, I will give it a shot and see how it goes.
Thank you for sharing your experience, I haven’t played my necro since I dinged 80 and farmed some gear (was like 3 months ago or more) and out of boredom I reached conclusion it is time to farm 3 remaining parts from arah, so I basically did it daily with all my characters and I kinda liked the necro, I’ve already forgotten how much fun he was. Now I’m trying to catch up with changes and different builds so really thanks for helping me out.
Also anyone knows if it is possible to cast spectral walk, jump of the cliff and activate the spectral walk to get back up before hitting the ground?
Will try today with blood is power changed to spectral walk, was thinking for a long time what to swap it to.
As for condition duration being useless I cannot agree since I stack them like a crazy, and cleansing them is just ineffective since in 2 seconds I can restack 8 bleeds again not mentioning cripples, fear, weakness, chilled and vulnerability.
And any thoughts about axe/focus combo? It looks like it stacks bad with condition damage but is it worth to take it?
It works, thanks.
Shame they’ve changed it though, I’ve always canceled it with weapon swap button, more handy imho.
Since like 2 weeks I cannot end transfom skills (for example elementalist’s tornado and necromancer’s plague) prematurely. I push “`”, I click the button with mouse and nothing works. It is very annoying because it prevents you from using other skills, sometimes I wish to jump out the form earlier, but I cannot.
Okay, so I went yesterday to WvWvW with my conditionmancer and it is very op in teamfights, 1v1 and 1v2, but it totally lacks escape mechanics when engaged by bigger group and encountered in situation where the escape is the only solution.
As there is no problem with conditions (obviously) what I lack in my build is mobility. ATM I miss swiftness very much.
I run with full rabid gear and 0/30/20/20/0 traits, I use scepter/dagger and staff, but in 1v1 and 1v2 situations I go with scepter which can stack around 5 bleeds/s with autoattacks only and I spam epidemic if needed. In group fights I swap between scepter and staff, depends if range is needed and try to cast epidemic to best of my team’s advantage.
From skills I took:
- well of corruption – very efficient against every profession by versus guardians in particular)
- blood is power – pretty useless imo but always gives 2 bleeding stacks and the ones I can transfer from myself, I thought about switching it to signet of spite but power is quite useless to me and as its active is very nice it has long cd, I also thought about switching it to spectral walk
- transfusion – this skill is the best thing in necro, especially in zerg vs zerg fights
- plague – imo it stacks much better with condition damage than the lich form, it’s bugged atm though and you cannot leave the plague form prematurely (just like elementalist’s tornado)
I was thinking about abandoning staff and take warhorn for its swiftness buff, but it’s 15s duration and 30s cd (wail of doom also doesn’t compensate its long cd) so I thought about taking axe/focus instead for extra boon striping, retaliation and life force generation, and switch it to staff during teamfights.
So, any suggestions what to change? I would like to keep 30 trait points in precision as I have high precision and use rare vegie pizza, precision oil, and sigils of earth to stack bleeds on crits.
I don’t know, maybe I am missing something? Does necro have only 2 skills giving swiftness? I was analyzing skills and traits and really have no clue how to increase my survivability.
Any help and suggestions appreciated.

Conditions are capped due to technical difficulties, not because they thought having more than 25 bleeds on a target would be op.
My computer is high end, thank you, and this has nothing to do with the hardware since it is server related issue. My fps is set to static 30 and it never gets below that. Actually having high end pc gives me a big advantage during zerg vs zerg battles.
And having 2 instances of WvW doesn’t cause any implications, you just have 1 additional wvwvw map. You can add points from both, would be even funnier than it is now.
