LS, dailies and monthlies get you enough AP without ever leaving openworld pve which is very easy and doesn’t require much knowledge.

I do all dailies, with almost 7k AP I have 4731 permanent.

I suspect only 1 thing – these players buy account from account sellers. I do not respect such things.

I expect that player with +5k AP (maybe less) know everything about game.

Noobies with +10k AP very disappointing.

That’s great and all but success in PVE is killing it before it kills you… And that’s done with high DPS…. which conditions don’t do…. they fail. It’s been said by Anet devs that they cannot raise the condi caps because the hardware just can’t do it.

Not all bosses can be killed in such manner.
For example: first and last boss in hammer fractal.

I like trait hunting, but its current implementation is not good.

I was new with my thief – it was not so fun to level up it, like my previous ele and warrior.

yes but if you read my secondary statements, the whole point is traits are ENHANCEMENTS to skills. traits do not require any additional buttons to use. The work when you use your current skills. There is no physical interaction required to use them over your skills(because the skills activate them, and you have those already).

This would be a bit of power upfront, and might make the leveling experience “too easy” for a lot of people, which would also give a bad impression of the game, this especially being a casual game.

Event hough you can play “shoutbow” warrior, and heal your team, that doesnt change the fact that you don;t have to press anything additional to do that. There’s no added required interaction.

Also, do you really want lvl 5 warriors and 35 warriors running AC as a shoutbow? Without playing the game a first bit, they might not fully understand the trait system and its enhancements, again why its lvl gated. To allow players to understand the class and how it works first, then once they have the basics and some knowledge, they can begin to advance and experiment.

This is exactly why i said it would be ok IF: the 3 reason i listed.. but mainly if there was a “im a veteran, enable all traits and skills option”. Even then that’s still a huge powerspike, and would make the game too easy, when its already easy enough

This is work only for new players.
Time gate is not easy or hard. It is just wasting you time. For veteran player – this is not fun wasting.
Game should be fun.

Just my experience, but most new players I’ve played with don’t even know what traits are by the time the hit 80, an most haven’t unlocked more than 1 or 2. From my point of view it seems like you’re just delaying all the things that they need to know about character builds until 80, making the whole process a long drawn out tutorial without a skip button (they can’t afford traits).

But I do like the idea, its just so poorly implemented. Full map completions for low tier traits is ridiculous for example. It should build up instead of being so random imo

No offense but if you really want to nitpick… skills are NOT TRAITS. They are completely different things.

So that statement would be wrong.

This is not wrong statement, it just not full.
They both affect and change your character gameplay. Traits ans skills work together
For example warriors shout:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vigorous_Shouts Shouts heal.
Now both these traits make warrior healing support.

Such things available only on 80 lvl

In terms of time however, you unlock trait points at roughly the same time. Leveling from 1 to ~13 was greatly reduced, so everything is shifted.

Personally, I recently did an elementalist and had no major traits to level 80, at which point I went back and only unlocked what I needed. Except for slightly more damage, it’s not like it’s game changing.

Stop lying. Trait and skillz unlock provides about twice more damage and survivability.
Also you able to adjust skillz and trait for specific event and just do my best.

Having full set of traits and skill greatly change gameplay.
Playing without – is worst (unneeded) gameplay experience.

Agreed, Current leveling Trait and skill system very sux.

Explorer dungeons mods well show this problem, attempt to run these dungeon mod by character < 80 lvl is pain.

Thread title should read “Please make condition builds meta.”

There are mistake in game design – as the result only few weapons and stats are viable for meta builds.

Toughness, Vitality, Healing Power, Condition Damage are waste in PvE.
Because there are no tank classes (because of random agro), Poor healing scaling, Poor Condition Damage mechanics.

Daily limits are a very good thing.

For example, we could have many more items in many more vendors if vendors could have fixed stocks limited in time .

You could do an event and the vendor that appears at the end could have something else like a single lodestone for a wooping 4 silver, or a rare profession equipment box for just 20 silver. And you do the event again, and since it’s the same shop, the item is still gone. So people would not be able to exploit it. It’ll be an extra reward for that event.

But if something could be bought indefinitely, people could just keep buying it. And since there’s no daily limit on earnings and people can get even more gold with gems, why doing anything of the other stuff that may provide you the item?

But when you mix RNG sources, dedication-based sources, skill-based sources and guaranteed sources, then you’ll have both a minimum guaranteed you can get if they are not lucky, do not have as much time or can’t do certain things for any reason, and people still being able to get more of it if they play for it.

For example, look at Icy runestones. They cost 1 gold each.

If limited stocks were added to the trader, on top of the usual 1 gold, every day, only for those who participated in the event, the vendor could have 1-5 more at a reduced price of 80 silver or so, allowing people to save gold through dedication.

The same happens with the karma converter and the ascended material consumers.
They give stuff. Not very good stuff, but it’s still better than useless bloodstone dust.

If they were not limited daily, people would just focus on that, farming bloodstone and ignoring other stuff, and as a result those items would have to be changed to give even less useful junk.

If you are getting so much bloodstone dust that Mawdrew can’t eat it all. Maybe thats a sign that you should consider other stuff you can do in the world.

First time I notice that – lunar new years vendors. Token exchange (“good” price), with daily limit.

I did not use them because I was used to collect a lot of things and use for 1 time.

They ARE useful in general PvE. They do NOT kill as quickly (nor should they) as a Zerker build. They are not effective in large group situations (World Boss or Champ Trains) but that’s a different request than what the OP stated.

The ineffectiveness of Condi damage is VASTLY over-hyped (in thread, after thread, after thread…..)

The source of the problem:
They do NOT effective because ANET don’t care about efficiency.

I wonder why you just won’t get it in your head that 5 mobs on the same map having 20 stacks of bleed each and one mob having 20 stacks applied times 5 if 5 condi-players attack it is the EXACT SAME THING calculationwise?! And, since plkayers get the information on other players transmitted in the former case, they actually need more data transferred->more datause, and that works fine?

Seriously, try to make a programm that makes 5 instances of a “Monster” class and apply the worst-case-scenario of 20 timers for each of those 5 instances, ticking down individually.

Then make ONE instance of a class “Boss” and have the worst-case of 100 timers tick down.

The measure the memory and cpu usage of your programm. It will be exactly the same. See, 5*1*20 = 1*5*20 (monster*player*stacks = monster*player*stacks). They both end with 100 stacks calculated, but one ends with a player receiving the info (costing bandwidth) of all 5 20-stacks, and the other with just his own. Guess what is which. As for Adds, any class that can spam AE-conditions does it on regular mobs, too, so there, again, you end up with an equal amount of processing power and bandwidth needed. Your argument it takes more is completely invalid, because that isn’t how it works. This is why different maps are instanced from each other, and there are multiple servers hostin each map: because there is a maximum amount of players allowed on one at any given time, if there are too many you end in an overflowserver (or second main sever, depending on the amount of players). There won’t be suddenly more players than the maximum number allowed for each server, calculated to bear the load of managing every player using conditions without slowing down or breaking, even when each of those players decides to spread conditions to a different group of 5 monsters, just because a world boss event happens.

FYI. In Rift or WoW – any player able to record all detail information about all players.
You can even inspect gear – instead of GW2 stupidest “ping your gear”!
In GW2 player receive detail information only about own skillz.

I have played WoW and Rift – they able to support condition and etc for each player separately.

Of course these game have different condition damage mechanics – but this mechanic works correctly and conditional damage builds are viable.

What about my example didn’t you kittening get? The amount of stacks on the whole map <= amount of stacks on one world boss, so same amount of bandwidth and server power used as it is now, even if they did this change. Just because, instead of distributing pieces on a board of checkers, you pile them all on top of each other, they do not suddenly become more pieces.

Out of the different things you do in game (sPvP, WvW, open-world, World boss, dungeons, exploration) the condi cap is mostly reached (and a problem) in two cases World bosses and Dungeons… but not always.
In term of damaging conditions, confusion and torment are less a problem than the others.

In the case of World boss for example, the vinewrath is not so awful for condi cap since during lane phase not everyone focus the same mob. Arguably during boss phase when enough people died against thrasher you’re free to apply your conditions. Orr bosses are really often done by 10-15 people without too much trouble for conditions.
Other World bosses are anyway just a zerg fest since the introduction of timers. You can do them as full healer or tank (aka with minimal damage) and the boss will die in any case.

In dungeons it mainly affects un-organized PUGs who don’t want to go as fast as possible. If you run a “slow” dungeon with guildies you set up your builds before starting in order to optimize the conditions applications.

So the problem is really not as bad as people like to complain about. I don’t say the statu quo is the best deal but I don’t think this really hurts the game so much.

To get condi build a bit more reliable I would change all minor traits that apply condi on crit from minor to major so that players have to actively slot them… it would greatly reduce the bleed cap (and maybe burning too) at least in dungeons.
World bosses are a desperate cause since they are so easy and timed….

Actually 25 stacks happen on Champion-enemies, too. Easily. And what is the “most important” PvE group content? Champions, Bosses, Dungeons. So , yes, it IS a problem in PvE. One that is easily fixable, there are so many great ideas that would easily work out floating around , but no, they do not even try. And the problems with Condi in PvE aren’t the only ones. There are still bugs FROM RELEASE in this game, some of which invalidate whole playstyles (like minions), break the game (like skipping final boss in CoF p3), and many more. And then there is the huge imbalance of professions in PvE and PvP.

But you don’t have pay for month subscription!
As the result we got poor and not motivated developers

Sadly by design battle standard is bugged. Instead of simple revive … we notice these:

From the wiki:

“The banner will revive players for 100% of their total down state health and 100% of their normal health meaning that through debuffs (such as Poison and/or Agony), the banner’s revival capabilities can be negated to the point that the affected player will not revive at all, and only regain a portion of their downed health. This is a common issue in fractals, as levels with Mistlock Instability: Agonizing Expedition can cause players to have multiple stacks of agony, thus nullifying the effects completely.”

So if you tried to revive someone downed that was at very low downed state health and was poisoned, the banner may have only healed them up in the downed state, but not enough to rally them. That’s why it’s important to poison downed targets, it makes it tougher for their allies to revive them.

You’re mistaken, OP. All builds are usable, but only a select few builds are optimal. That goes without saying, though; no matter what you do some builds will be more useful for certain content than others, and that’s okay. You just have to decide if you want to play optimally or not, and make sure to set your expectations both for groups and for your personal speed based on that.

Good player considers that optimal build = usable build.

Steps to reproduce.
Prerequisite:
Signets should not be on the skill panel
Steps:
1) Use any skill.
2) Change Skill on other skill panel to an signet – try this step will all signet.
Result:
Random signet on Countdown.

Reproduced on trief and elementalist.
Can not reproduce on warrior.

I don’t think they will do it.
It would be very expensive to hire all the voice actors needed for other languages.

And I think a big % of the people on the internet knows either,English,Spanish or French,so playing in any of these language isnt a problem.

Btw,I think there is a Chinese VO in the chinese client,I doubt they left it in english.

At least ability to customize game UI. Instead of “illegal” game mods.
Amateurs and enthusiasts can do this type of work. At least russian community do that.

Translations already exist but you can get ban if use one.

First, I’m sorry my poor English

I know people who do not play GW2. Because they do not know the words Tyrian speak.
Now, We can play English,French,German,Spanish. But They want to play in Japanese,Russian,Korean, & other lunguage.
I hope to incorporate other language for them with HoS.
I think GW2 become more prosperous if so.

What do you think about this thing?

There are another problem – no ability to copy test from game chat.
There is no chance to try understood that write these lumps

All about ANET disability.

As the summary – I do not want to see the text from other languages except english – because I cannot understand it.

P.S. i am russian native speaker.

Cliffside Fractal game mechanics misuse

I have a complaint about the last battle in this fractal.
Boss appears immune to damage (Invulnerability) for people locked in cages.
This is game mechanics missuse – Invulnerability mechanics should not affect this event.
It’s not player move from foe to a position where the foe cannot attack.
This is FOE move (teleport) palyer to a position where FOE can not attack – this is FOE problem – NOT a player.
This is game mechanic missuse.

There are no rocks (it’s illusion or WTF) – this is entrance into underwater cave – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Spentlung_Depth

I had noticed there are many illusion walls in game.
Some old players just know where is right entrance (I can watch video) – maybe because an age ago it was okay – without stupid walls.

The matchmaking in that minigame is the best.

If you need credit for grabbing the powerups for achievements though, its the best time to do it as you don’t need to share.

Yeee it’s awesome when you join to loser team with 0 – 480 score.
