+15% to illusion damage doesn’t do anything for the build.
15% illusion damage boosts izerker’s damage. which is huge.
so the new order would be:
time warp, prestige, ileap, mirror images, F3, power lock (25 vuln at this point), (timer starts here) power spike, mirror blade, izerker, powerspike, F1, F2.

uhh since we’re assuming best possible rng, we dont have to take any skills or traits that boost crit chance.
and since the clock only starts at the first instance of damage, we can use time warp to get more skills in.
i think this would be the ideal build:
order would be:
time warp, mirror images, F3, technobabble, power spike, mirror blade, izerker, powerspike, dodge, F1, F2.
the clock starts count at mirror blade, power spike and the shatters are instant cast, so they are performed during dodge and skills.
note that you don’t have time to use prestige since the damage occurs at the end of the skill.

I guess something like Frenzy>Killshot>Signet of Fury>Eviscerate, with 6/0/0/2/6? But that won’t come close to ele.

your guardians should be running hoelbrak or melandru, and your warrriors should be running soldiers. the reasoning for this is because your guards usually use your shouts prior to an engagement, while warriors use their shouts during the engagement where the condi removal actually matter.
the reasoning for running cleansing ire over hammer cooldown is because against any organized group, they are going to have stability up when it matters. meaning your warriors should be in sword/horn instead of hammer. infact, your warriors should be in sword/horn over hammer in most situations. it’s simply not worth taking the hammer trait.
as for the argument that this build is too glassy for a frontline warrior, it depends on the composition of the rest of the group. there should be 2 guardians in the party with the warrior to give him stability and protection, while the warrior takes care of most of the condi removal. though i will agree that most guilds run their shout warriors a bit tankier, however they also have a couple dps warriors to compensate for that.
axe autoattack does more than gs autoattack, however all the other gs skills are better than the other axe skills. so ideally, you want to use all the gs skills, then swap to axe to autoattack for max damage.
yes axe is great in wvw, it’s good essentially vs any opponent. what you want to use on offhand mostly depends on the situation and personal preference. the front runners are shield and warhorn.
With so many cond removal (and warhorn!) ‘mobile strike’ is absolute.
I would move that point to defence for the 230 extra power (with that much thougness). And power is the only thing this build really lacks.About the build – yeah it’s one the most efficient builds for group roaming bringing heals boons and cleanse for the group while beening mobile, very tanky, nice damage and hammertime.

it’s a great build, especially if you’re doing small mans. one thing i would change is inspiring shouts instead of signet mastery. you simply don’t need anymore swiftness or fury when you have both warhorn and fgj. and inspiring shouts lets you immob and stun back to back.
you also want to be using lemongrass for food certainly. and a hydromancy sigil.
edit: watching that video for 2 seconds i can tell lemongrass isn’t being used. warriors MUST use lemongrass in wvw, theres no getting aorund it.

if you want to keep PU, then you will never beat a good warrior in a duel unless you go full condi. warriors properly built will outregen the damage you can do and longbow will destroy you and your phantasms with ease.
the other option is to go full glkittenter mesmer. but you’d have to outplay the warrior to beat him, shatter combo’s are easy to dodge.
because blinks aren’t a blast finisher.
it’s due to way blinks are coded in this game. when you blink, you are actually just running super fast, and not actually teleporting. this is why you can only blink to terrain that you can walk to.
being able to blink to platforms above you is a bug.

Man all that YOLO 6v1? even if they are trash noobs it is very impressive. You can also see him fight good players and still owning, but most importantly it’s fun to watch.
So really all that ‘wha wha not viable showcase vid’ is just jealousy.

you’re basically fighting 1v1’s and eotm kittens, your build is sub optimal, since it only works in 1v1’s against power builds or vs eotm trash. the fact that you’re using signet of fury speaks volumes.
sure you can make a compilation video and showcase big numbers, but it’s not a sustainable roaming build. no mobility, no condi cleanse. anyone with a brain will out kite you.
edit: alot of nuthugging in this thread, compilation videos will always look impressive by nature.
when you have a target selected, it will do the leap at the target. you never want to use 4 with something selected.

here is how you fix pvp:
1. make pvp free to play. release a special f2p client that lets anyone make a gw2 account but only give them access to the mists. let them keep all the rewards they would get, and encourage them to buy the game if they want to spend it.
2. stop emphasizing conquest mode, JUST STOP. it is SO restrictive on how team comps and meta’s develop. release new game modes, or better yet come up with an original game mode that compliment the fantastic combat system and pacing of the action.
3. this ties into point 2, but stop balancing skills around conquest. decap engi and bunker guards, hambows, etc, are only an issue because you have to stand on a circle. it is SO restrictive in so many different ways design wise and gameplay wise.
spvp as a whole is just such a joke right now, it’s mind boggling that we basically have the exact same thing as we did on the release of this game over 2 years ago, the only difference now is less people play it. i just can’t imagine how devs can look at the state of spvp and be ok with it.
use sword/warhorn, and take the conversion trait. pindown shot and combustive shot is more than enough to kill her.

I think it’s funny that people complain about warriors being “OP” when a guardian can have higher DPS and more sustain.
A warrior can not beat a DPS oriented guardian in a duel no matter what build he uses. The blocks, blinds, damage, and sustain they have is absurd. They can basically scepter number 1 you to death if they wanted.
That guardian pretty much ate every 100b without being stunned or immob.
honestly both players in that video are using terrible builds for dueling. and both are pretty bad too.
I have several questions regarding some advice in this thread.
Multiple people stated you should just run in and hit one of the bosses a few time if you want credit, but don’t contribute to the zerg.
Question 1: How much do you have to hit them? It seems buggy, because I’ve killed the bosses before and ended up with no reward for the blitz, so that’s concerning. But if you only have to hit them a few times until you qualify (though may still get bugged reward), that’d be really good to know.
Question 2: If I do hit them a few times, can I do the guantlet and still get the reward? I’ve participated several times then gone to the guantlet and ended up with nothing. Seems dumb if I have to sit at the stupid waypoint while everyone finishes.
Question 3: Why does this work? Other people in this thread say the bosses scale up but never down again. Wouldn’t me hitting the boss a few times contribute to their scaling up, and me leaving just result in a higher scale boss without me contributing DPS?
Thanks everyone, I really wanna do more guantlets but I’ve been having issues getting rewards or just becoming part of the problem.
i dont know how credit is assigned, but I’ve gotten credit for completion when all i’ve done is gauntlet above the bosses, and NEVER attacked any of the bosses.
the bosses definately DO scale down. many times where there were many people at boomboom, endlessly attacking it without making a dent in her hp. i call for people to go afk in the middle if they want the kill, and sometimes people actually listen. i was able to kill boomboom after it was scaled up then later down again.

yeah it’s still happening to me. its not THAT big of a deal, i just have to resize it once everytime i log in, then it stays fixed until i log out agian.
make a new wvw map that is a mix of skyhammer and eotm, but when you fall off the edge of the world, you land in all water. and you have to do water combat for life until you die.

if you want to get better at the game in general, play glassy shatter build.
if you want to have a good time and kill random nubs, play PU condi.
but know that playing a shatter build takes considerably more skill than playing PU, as a result you essentially get better at ALL classes because it teaches you positioning and dodge timing.
you should have that item that makes you level 20 right away. then just craft up a couple of professions. and do the rest by doing map completion on the 4 high level zones wher eyou get exotics for map completion.
you have to play like a thief. you cant bomb with frontline cus you’ll get kitten on by retal
its a desync caused by a lag spike. all you haev to do is use a leap or a ranged attack and it’ll track to where he actually is.
condis are also the way to get the 8 orb achievment as warrior.

autoattack the dog. when he throws first meat, shield bash the dog then go for the meat. keep autoattacking dog. when he throws second meat, fearme the dog, get the meat, swap to hammer. when you see him throw 3rd meat, hammer 4 then 5 the dog. get the meat. by then the dog should be at no health. kill the dog then kill the guy.
this is also guaranteed way to get the achievement. 100% success rate.
use sword to leap to meat if it’s far away after stunning/fearing the dog

turning on or off autoattack has nothing to do with this issue. infact autocasting autoattack works properly, as using another skill takes priority over the next chain in the autoattack.
i don’t think you understand even what i’m saying.
also the jade maw and conjure weapon pickup lag has existed for years. this issue however has only cropped up recently since the latest patch. so even though they behave similarly, i don’t think it’s exactly the same thing. but fixing one would probably fix the other too.

I think it’s simple: TREM classes are there to fight the other TREM’s. Occasionally filling the spot of an EN (water fields, AoEs, buffs, softCC, etc…) then getting back to their job harrasing the backline and picking off targets.
Meanwhile the Warriors and Guardians are swinging their long-shafted tools in close combat achieving basically nothing. They are so OP they cannot kill even each other.
Eles and Necros are there to kill the warriors and guardians and prevent their getting killed. TREMs are there to killing the Eles and Necros and to prevent their own Eles and Necros are killed by the enemy TREMs.Simple
So what you are saying is that GWcis useless and EN can be substituted by TREM. So in the end we only need TREM.

this is why all competitive wvw guilds run all 3 types of roles.
this is not the same thing as skill lag that happens during huge wvw engagements. those happen server side.
this is not a issue related to latency at all. this is a game mechanics bug that was introduced recently. it’s only happening because the autoattack animation is taking priority over other skills. your autoattack used to, and should be interrupted if you try to execute another skill.
i just dont understand how not more people are throwing a fit over this, especially the spvp players where timing and skill responsiveness is so much more important.

I found that the condition removal into boons would compliment this nicely as my warhorn also removes conditions. What are your thoughts?
yeah thats fine, but you want reduce shout cooldowns, and probably zerk trinkets
please for the love of god fix this. this is more game breaking any any of the achievement or visual bugs. it makes the game unplayable the way it’s designed for many classes and builds.

You can go 2 0 6 6 0 as shout warrior melee train will love you
basically this. if you’re going to be playing with other players around, then go shout heals, sword/wh hammer. it’s the best all around build for warrior in wvw.
theres a couple different variations to the trait setup though. 1/0/4/6/3, 0/0/4/6/4, 0/0/5/6/3 all work basically the same.
as for gear, build as balanced as possible. get up to 3k armor, 30% crit chance, then everything else into power/ferocity, and maybe a little bit of vitality.
trait for wh cleanse, and use lb.
basically ez mode lb4 also aoe blinds all the summons so you can just face tank most of it
So now when you’re autoattacking, then hit another skill, the autoattack will ALWAYS complete first. You CANNOT use another weapon skill during the animation of an autoattack. for example, if you’re warrior greatsword autoattacking, and you press 3 to spin, you will only spin after the autoattack sequence finishes.
I’m pretty sure this wasn’t the case before, since I’m noticing it only recently.
multiple classes have been complaining about this. this kills people in intense fights. pls fix asap. this is by far the worst bug EVER.
I would think it would have something to do with supposed higher pings for NA players playing in EU giving them disadvantage. On the other hand I know quite a few NA players playing on the EU GvG scene without any problems.
I live in Canada and have played on EU since beta, ping isn’t an issue if you have a good internet connection. I know people that live in the UK that get way worse connection and higher ping than I do, the biggest factor is how good your internet is.
more so your location in NA.
i know people on the east coast that get sub 100 pings to EU. but 99% of west coasters get 250-300+ ping to EU. which is huge difference.
depending on the opponents build, warrior is like #1 at dueling. the most versatile dueling build that works on most classes is settlers condi/shout healing build.
against non-condi builds, mace/shield gs still works great.
if you really think warriors are bad at dueling, then you either dont know how to theory craft, or just plain suck at the class

I haven’t been all over the axe as of late so I don’t quite remember any problems I had with it. Aside from the bug where you will only leap half the distance of the actual skills effects.
