The best way ofcourse is play to play GW,
on youtube you can check out woodenpotatoes he has lp’ed gw and made some lore Recaps (altough he isn’t always 100% correct (mostly in his older videos))
You can also read about everything on the wiki, both wiki.guildwars.com and wiki.guildwars2.com
( I recommend the wiki to get the best and the most information, but for a quick recap you can watch wp)
There are people who have this achievement completed, the first one got in early 2013, If I am not mistaken, it is one of the harder achievements, though.
Maybe they should add an extra reward?
Ty for all the responses!
I am a EU-based player so I geuss TC is more of my server to be.
I’ll try to get in TC, but if it I can’t get in soon, I’ll choose SoS.
A better joke would be:
Reworking the website in a Canthan theme, a Canthan trailer with GW2 in-game graphics, at the end of the trailer, have nice april the first.
Hello
I am looking for an NA server with decent coverage overall, but most importantly during later SEA and EU
I used to be on SoR and I heard most guilds switched to TC and SoS, what server is best for me?
P.S. I’d rather not join JQ or BG
-wouw
TC is essentially the spiritual successor to SoR, without the “We play for fights only” mantra.
Btw, that’s not an accusation, merely a statement.
dang, is there still a server with good coverage and a let’s play this video game because it’s fun so don’t hide in a tower all day?
looking to transfer from SoR
Hmm, If it doesn’t come out of A-net’s mouth, I am not trusting it + it’s probaply not going to go about Cantha.
(Altough it would make more sense: Week 1;Tyria get’s LS, Week 2: Cantha get’s LS Week 3: Tyria, etc.)
1. Did that guy ever find the water closet?
6. Most importaint question of them all. Can we use the drill to drill to Cantha?
I still hope we can use the Dredge tunnel to enter Cantha
After they escaped the Dwarven tyranny, the Canthan Dredge got nearly extinct with the genocide the Canthan emperor brought upon them, Pushed back into the earth the dredge struggle to live on, after the emperor died, the Dredge were enslaved again, treated as farm animals the Dredge lived miserable lives. The tunnel leading to their homelands blocked of by Destroyers, they are stuck in Cantha, with a few rebelious Dredge still struggling for independence.
After the Tyrian heroes defeated Primordus the Canthan Dredge contacted the Tyrian Dredge, but after years of seperation the dredge saw them as enemies. So the canthan Dredge called upon the Pact, they allowed them to use to passage the Cantha, if they helped them fight the Empire.
Hopefully she comes back as a zombie plant minion of Modremoth.

Did a post like this ages ago. It was ignored of course. I don’t think we have any active dev here that’d take the time to do it, like John Smith over the BLTC forum, for example.
Is Jon Smith a real person? That is the most generic name I ever read. it would confirm my theories about Colin Johansson being a robot from the future and the only employee of Arena-Net
1. Do more dmg
2.join a party to do more dmg
3.Step in the colored circles t odo more dmg
4. don’ use PVT gear in PvE
DR, that’s been a while since I encountered it (good old tunnel farming)
DR, or Diminishing Returns is a debuff you get from killing mobs in the same area for a long time, this is zone-wide not world-wide.
That luck increases when not playing for a while is a theory I heard about last year, but I think it’s just RNG + a lil’ bit of the good ol’ My-mind-makes-me-think-the-drops-were-a-lot-worse-over-time-and-now-the-drops-look-better.
I have a naga for a year and it still works ( I even dropped it a a couple of times :/)
I’d suggest the Special one hand gaming-keyboard and the logitech g6000 or the Naga

Just a simple Topic, to loo back what happend in NA T1…
First SBI vs HoD(TA) vs ET (AA)
The mighty Titan Alliance vs Ascension Alliance vs some PUG’s, it’s been over a year since the clash of the 2 biggest alliances in GW2 History, but TA was too strong, AA gave up on fighting TA, TA got bored and disbanded, some guilds left for Kaineng (at the time the joke server, who always lost) others stayed on HoD.
ET already hit rock bottem “They Are fighting Kaineng now” we joked. HoD still stood strong, a new player entered the field: SoS:“the server meant to stop HoD”
SBI vs HoD vs SoS, The koreans left SBI, as they noticed around halloween we all just were PvE nubs. HoD was the next server “to fight Kaineng”, altough this one started to rise slowely.
Then the mighty JQ was constructed, the server to bring down SoS, Then the last of the early titans fell, SBI collapsed, most WvW servers fled, some to kaineng, some to JQ, some to SoR, or some even to BlackGate, the server meant to take down JQ
unfortunatly, the free transfer period was over and ever since it has been a stale Fight between SoR, BG and JQ, altough BG used to be the weakest of the three, and laughed at: “Go back to PvE”. In the constant fight between the three forces, the lead often switched, BG became the stronges, SoR the weakest, JQ lost a lot of power, SoR became the stronges, etc.
Now today, WvW is screwed up big time, BG and JQ are both overstacked, while SoR just stopped caring, hapy to move to T2 or play around in EotM. It became a endless 2-way fight.
Just briefly telling the story of T1 NA WvWvW of the past year and a half, a moment to think about all those epic fights and sieges. to remember the times of ET vs HoD vs SBI. to remember all the drama, to think about what will happen next.
-wouw
SoR is the new SBI Just having fun in a videogame, while the other Servers work to win
Fighting vs BG and JQ turteling in towers
yup, choice made
I actually noticed this when the first vids of this zone got released way back.
All 3 zones have a theme corresponding with a unreleased region
Badlands -> Crystal Desert
Overgrown-> Maguuma Jungle
Frost Reach->Far Shiverpeaks
+
The Badlands use un-seen textures and assets, I have seen some structures, which you can see in the GW1 CD aswell (margonite towers, forgotten architecture).
Crystal Desert Coming?
hmm, I thought all Asurans had two of the same letters in there name
The jungle dragon lives in the Maguma wastes
Is she the only Asura without dubble letters?
- Odd. The music was from Factions, I’m pretty sure. The bell rings was definitely Factions-sounding.
- Ohey, the “creepy female voice” from Tequatl Rising and Twilight Assault is back. Still wondering if that holds story significance. It’d be nice if it did.
- She’s not really being shoehorned in here. As said, we’ve known since the beginning of December that Scarlet had a base/interest in the Mists. The question is why.
Honestly, I’m now pushing to the most recent and plausible sounding theory I’ve seen: Dhuum’s the voice driving Scarlet insane.
But I may just be good-god-deprived.
DHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM
haha I would love to see that lil’ bugger again, But what makes you think Dhuum is influencing Scarlett?
I think I read somewhere they already slightly modeled the DoW but nothing to big ( I could be thinking of something else)
But hey they can just reuse the objects of the Canthan District
A solution could be: “Watchwork Sprockets are now added to the Gems Loottable while harvesting with the new pickaxe”
Mordie is coming and three wurms are his tails
Primortus will come from mount maelstrom Volcanoes are already easy paths to the surface which devours use. I think he is quite happy harnessing energy from the core of the planet
Colin already said (in an interview) that “The Jungle Dragon” lives in the Maguuma Jungle
I think this has been posted before (waaaay back) I can’t remember wat it was, though.
My geus: A object that was placed there so they could copy it more easily and forgot to remove it, just like the “Tequatl” under the map in Straits of Devestation
This Angel McCoy hate is getting ridiculous.
Mursaat should come to help us in the fight with the ED, when we go to the Isle of Janthir ( somewhere in 2016, prob)
While I do agree A-net should be more clear on some statements, I can also see why they don’t say: “No mounts for GW2” Because if they say this and 3 years later they introduce mounts, people will eat them alive
With such a big community, it might be better to just shut up, (or be unclear, which is hovering between, not saying anything and saying a few things). 8 months ago A-net told us what they were plannig to do in 2013, when some of those goals (like the precursor crafting) didn’t make it, people just destroyed them. After such responses of the community, I don’t think A-net dares to be very open in the future…
Another reason why A-net could be vague is: They are a big company. Devs of every game want to tell everything to the community, only the PR-guys stop them. showing your cards to everyone isn’t the best buissiness strategy, maybe for a smaller community (let’s say a indie-game) but not for a MMOrpg
1. Mounts, no, just no
2. PRecursor crafting will come soon (the only confirmed thing of your questions)
3. Those were mentioned in 2009-2010, not confirmed, so maybe in the future, but don’t wait for it
1. yes, but it will be pretty hard and buying it of the tp might still be easier (speculation)
2.uh, because it isn’t so important?
3. they can’t? I haven’t played ranger yet.
EDIT: looking at your blog, just stop playing if you hate the game that much. Why even bother if you don’t like it? (not trying to be rude, but just take a break for a couple of months, it might make the game fun again, if you ever found it to be fun…)

Ecto drops are not affected by what kind of kit (except bl-kits)
I am personally having some great salvages lately.
so…
RNG=RNG
I have a $1,600 computer with dual 27" screens but I would still love to see it on console. The first time I played Guild Wars it ran smoothly like it was a console game. I just think it would be an awesome experience on 60" tv with surround sound. Also it doesn’t have a huge number of spells so it might be possible to implement to a controller. Massive multiplayer online is the future of consoles. With games like Planetside 2 coming to console I’m sure games like Guild wars could too. I know I would buy it I’m sure others would gladly dish out $ for it.
You want to play it on a worse machine, why?
You can emulate the Console experience with a X360 controller and a hdmi cable.
1.HDMI pc→tv
2.X360 controller in pc,
3.download X360 gw2 control sheme (they exist, but I don’t use them)
4.???
5.Profit
I played through the deep again a few days ago and I found Kanaxai to have have a lot of elder dragon champion’esque traits:
Kanaxai is a demon who dwells within the Deep, far below the Jade Sea. His exact origins are unknown, as are his allegiances, if he possesses any. He has begun to spread his power and assemble an army. When Luxon Reavers delving deep into the Jade for high quality deposits discovered him, his influence drove them mad. They became Outcasts, and they now serve as minions of his growing Nightmare Horde. (GuildWarsWiki)
So Kanaxai is a ‘demon’ who can corrupt beings by his mere presence, he can also create minions?(oni) He lived in the Jade Sea before the Jade wind, he got imprisoned in the Jade when Shiro was defeated in 872 AE.
Could he be related to the Deep Sea Dragon? (In theory the DSD could have lived in the Jade Sea and when the Jade melted, she went to the Unending Ocean).
It’s also not-known if Kanaxai comes from the mists, wich would make it possible.
Does this make any sence?
(ps. what about Urgoz and the Warden, the look Sylvari’-esque)
All hail the mighty Bubbles!
#Bubbles2014
OT: Primordus would be epic, but don’t forget the molten alliance.
Yes!
Rangers are people who are close to nature, they tame pets and don’t use guns or magic (except spirits).
in other words Guns=Machines, machines <→ Nature, so bad.
The LS update vs. Expansion is actually a great example of some Human psychology.
People rather get a expansion ( A big amount of content at one time (and get one every year))
than
Get the LS (A bigger amount of content, but spread over a year)
I still play GW and I have the feeling the game is more active than 2011/2012
2 districts in ascalon (pre ) and 3 districts in kama, ToA has multiple parties lf people to do sc’s,
I still play it, it’s fun.
How many people work @ A-net? 100-200? 4teams on LS, artists, PvP team, wvw team, balance team, and QA-team. What about the lead designers, what about the others? are they just playing Rytlock Critter Rampage all day?
I still have hopes for a hidden X-pack or something, Remember the release date? it just got announced 1 month before release…
No, in gw2 not every profession can do DPS/Tank/heal
it’s ( but not every class is as good) Damage/control/support
And it’s trough, Support isn’t just healing, banner warriors, who give passive buffs, are also supporting, control (or CC) is stunning/crippling/imob/… the enemy and Damage is, well damage.
The game looks broken to you, because you are building around DPS/Tank/healer, and you can’t build around that in GW2.
Did Evon or Kiel mention the fractal research in-game? (can’t remember)
I thought it was just something like the reduced cost on WP’s, something we knew from the devs, but not from in-game sources.
Wouldn’t 4chan.org be a fitting site?
I don’t care much about AP and I find it a good idea. The average player can choose out of a wider variety of dailies without bothering the AP hunters, isn’t it win win for everyone?
Hello
Scarlett is a interestig Character, personally I think Scarlett understands the Eternal Alchemy ( the universe you might say ) and thinks on a different level than we do, She isn’t crazy, she just looks crazy to us, because we don’t see the world as she sees it.
I think she wants to restore Balance to the world, the world has been imbalanced since the defeat of Zaithan, and she wants to ‘summon’ a ED and let the Dragons Complete the Cycle as it always should.
She wants to lure Primordus to the surface! The mysterious probes are sending shockwaves into the earth, they are scattered all over the map (where is primordus hiding?) They look like a mix of Dredge and Inquest technology and who used to/still worship(s) Destroyers? idd, the flame legion.
only the Toxic alliance is a mystery, maybe she wants to use the toxic to poison the dragon somehow and take control over him?
Thoughts?
(edited by wouw.5837)
The lionguard are in Caledon assaulting twilight arbor.
Ah true, thanks.
So I talked to Gnashblade today, he told me this: (short summary)Kiel is going to get veryone killed one day, she is playing in the mists while Magnus has the best lionguard out in Caledon Forest, Scarlett will attack LA one day and then we all die.
So…
-Why has Magnus put the best men in Caledon?
-Why did Gnashblade want to research the Abaddon fractal? He fears Scarlett, so what did he want to learn of Abaddon’s defeat to stop Scarlett?
-Kiel playing in the mists is probaply about her and her fractal?
My idea: Evon wants to find a weapon to stop Scarlett, Kie wants to learn about Scarlett’s past
Thoughts?
There is a reward. Its called the birthday booster.
not really, that’s 1 year after you bought the game, OP is talking about time spent in the game.
it would be cool, but it’s easy to exploit.
There are, honestly, a LOT of things ANet could have done better, and one of them was “don’t fudge up the game by over-casualizing it.” What do I mean?
For example, take a look at Guild Wars 1. Look at my Dervish’s skill bar (above in the attached pic). Three different builds I have for her, and I always find skills in GW1 that make me think, “Huh, could X go with Y?” and try out new builds. For example, I found Farmer’s Scythe and found it great for pumping out additional damage in my Vow of STR build, even if it eats my energy like no one’s business. And I’m STILL having fun with PvE!
Now look at that pitiful excuse for a skill bar belonging to GW2, the same bar my Norn Warrior uses. I bet you my bottom dollar that skill bar hasn’t changed an INCH since I left GW2. Why? There’s no reason to. There’s no reason to experiment when someone a) found the best build and b) found all the other skills outside of that build is trash. This does not apply to EVERY class, but it’s a pattern that occurs in them regardless: despite ANet claiming that “all the classes can do everything,” they are painfully restricted to one or two builds because everything else is so mediocre.
There’s a lot of other problems Guild Wars 2 has and, comparing it to Guild Wars 1, it seems like a complete and kitten -backwards downgrade for the sake of appealing to people who want Yet Another WoW Clone™. Actually, that phrase pretty much sums up all of GW2’s core problems. In trying to be TOO different, they ended up same-y and grind-y and just pitiful.
It really is like having chesseburgers all your life, having some sirloin steak suddenly, and not being able to go back to cheeseburgers.
I myself am a guild wars player and if I want the “Guild Wars Experience” I go play GW, if I want the GW2 experience I come and play this game, why do both games have to be identical?
Your example was a signet war? double axes? I geuss that’s A way to go…
A war has some build diversity (not a pro on it so I might miss some) Zerker: signet or banner/fgj/… a PTV war, for wvw, A shield stun build for sPvP,….
EDIT: What I often see in GW-players is that they already give up because they have less skill liberty and just give up.
Traits is something GW didn’t have and I geuss has to make up for the less freedom in the skill department?
Saying it makes it a wo-clone is pretty dumb as WoW allows you to take a kazzilion skills.

Eles CAN be incredibly strong, if played well (I am a bad ele, so don’t ask me how)
