I loved GW, but don’t go in with your mind set on HoM points, you will hate the game, play trough all the campaigns, and do some fun things now and then,

if you really need the points fast, but still want to enjoy the game:
I suggest you make a Ritualist(good for end-game farming/PvE) do the Canthan starting area and move to Elona(nightFall), do the story line(with bonusses), get all the heroes,

!don’t forget to get a good build and build setup for your heroes! this game is called BuildWars for a reason!

after GW:NF
do Eotn(more Heroes, fast, good money, unlock HoM)- Factions+bonusses(fast, unlock JadeQuarry/Fort Aspenwood, get Kurzik/luxon faction)-prophecies(it’s fun, most parts can be skipped)

put MOX in your HoM, get 1 mini(can be bought very cheap)

go to Eotn and farm one of the 3 fations to R5 and buy the cultural armor, put it in your HoM

finish War in Kryta, get 1-2 opressor weapons, put them in your HoM

these are the easiest to get points, you will have 13, this an be achieved in 1 month

once you got the 13 points you can do some other things, but once you got there yo u are in the game and know most things and you will find out what goals you can/Want to achieve

A-net always said(from the first time they talked about Legendaries) it was going to be a grind, something for the ‘hardcore’ players.
A-net said there wasn’t any grind needed for the best items(I know FotM, but they
are going to fix it,…when it’s ready :p) and there is a grind at the end for cosmetic stuff

is it just me or are there more and more Zaishens in LA?

on the cliff south of FoTM, more and more Zaishen engineers arrive, with todays patch they are also building a trebuchet, targets were already there before the patch.
(as a side note, there are multiple races in the Zaishen order)

recently I noticed ALOT of tourists came to point pride in Soutshun Cove.
and at the south eastern island multiple golems are building a asura gate.

well, because the NPC’s use the GW naming of currency, gold and platinum, while the players use a different currency, don’t ask me why,tho

well no not really, we have keeps(forts) and other things, and I have to agree a Medieval setting is awesome(I love Age of Chivalary and as a kid the Medieval Lego theme was my favorite :p)

But I just look @ it from a lore stand-point. Let’s say the humans from Tyria, they are the closest to our medieval time, Kryta gives a Medieval look, but they also have influences of other races, guns, Asura portals. IMO GuildWars:Prophecies was alot more Medieval, but that is 250 years ago, I can see the reason why we don’t have alot of medieval influences anymore, is due to that era is almost over.

I geuss you look more at the details(armor, quivers, etc) Quivers are actually a backpiece in-game if you want one, armor(I assume you mean Heavy armor) I don’t really know of, and some templar armor would be nice.

TL:DR: Tyria is moving past their version of medieval Europe.

this is Tyria not western-Europe, it has medieval uinfluences, tho, but this isn’t planet earth.

Quickly stopping by to say the name ‘Guild Wars’ isn’t about the lore event, ‘The Guild Wars’, but because of the PvP

I Pugged a dungeon twice (CoF P1, easiest dungeon in the game) and failed hard, but I 3- manned it with some guildies.

the collosus: I think I know where this is, at first I thought Cantha, the vegetation is tropical. but seeying the flying rocks(think Tarnished coast) and the architecture(gave me a precolumbian feel) I might think it’s from unseen lands. A jungle Biom,+pre-columbian architecture(think Atztec) +flying rocks=GW:Utopia?

Right now there is no reason to go back to your Home Instance once you are lvl 30+
Some new way of “end-game” could be added aswell with the HoA, or

The Hall of Acomplishments.

GW players sure know the Hall of Monuments, the HoA is the GW2 version of the HoM. I just loved collecting statues, it makes looking at your achievements alot more fun!

I was thinking how you could add this and you should talk to a NPC in your Home instances and for x amount of crafting materials(planks/ingots)or gold/karma you can build your hall (you might even be able to upgrade it and get even more awesome statues)

I think it would make people do more achievements and go back to their Home Instanes

well, that doesn’t make any difference, people should be happy A-net gives any FREE content, ther don’t hve to do it and just put everything in the gem store. ( new map for just 2,99!)

I see why A net makes them stronger, they are slightly stronger because of the infusion slot. you can’t actually put sigils/runes in them. people might think ascended gear is better, but some most builds need runes and sigils, this gear can be seen even worse in some situations

my idea of the day is:

Music Instruments in the Gemstore

I mean a guitare for instance, you buy it and can equip it as weapon in your townclothes set, it will give you some skills like: “Classic” “Rock” Etc (ingame sound required) or skills like “Play”(dazes foe) and “Guitare Smash”(hurt nearby foe) wich you can use in costume Brawl

The guitare is just a example, you can even release some outfits with them, but they should be able to bought seperatly (like the boxing gloves)

it would be cool if we could push a meta event chain and score points for LA while the NPC’s try to score points for their team, then the results of all the servers will be counted and if the evil npc’s win the map is permanent contested/corrupted by them, otherwise LA has a new outpost, with ofc different events on the island (attacks of the evil things,etc)

well I never upgraded my gear and just used what I looted, when I got 80 and finished my story I chose which build I wanted to go for and bought greens to try it out, then I got my crafting up to 400 and with the looted things I had I made exotics, the weapons I just bought from the TP

WvW zerging also gives a EXP-boost

yeah other continents other problem would be nice due to fighting the dragons can get boring. but still it would be cool

well if it were god weapons, it shouldn’t be corrupted due to the power of the gods inside the weapon, descr could be: “This is a powerfull weapon salvaged from the ruins of Orr, powerfull magic from long lost Gods protect it against any form of Harm”

and for people who don’t know it we already have god items, may I reming you to the “Fiery Gods Vambraces” and “Fiery sword”(a copy of Sohotin a Orrian artefact of the Gods) these weapons are avaible by getting 10(for the sword) and 30(for the gloves)HoM points

I like the idea though of getting something between legendaries and exotics, in one way the halloween exotics were something like that.

well, I know it can be annoying if you are a hoarder(like me) you might want to buy a new acc, or buy new char slots just for storaging stuff. I know alot of guildies did this back in Guild Wars

the problem is 100 gold isn’t that expensive(anymore) A-net should keep raising the cost(maybe depending on the amount of commanders, the avaible gold in the game, etc) the original thought was, only a guild that has power can collect 100gold and because it’s that expensive, only the most qualified will get it! but loads of people who just play the market got it for the lulz(to say it in a hip way ;D)

Well the reason why I play WvW is for the fun, I just like to participate in Awesome keep fights or just roam in a small group taking out straglers/loners, supply camps, sentrys

well it might be because I am on StormBluff Isle and the WvW community is bigger

for PvP, well I didn’t play loads of it, but the few matches I played gave me a TF2 feel, join in when you want play a few matches etc, for me there shouldn’t be a glory system, but it’s a nice extra.

Dungeons, the armor is a nice enough reward for me, but the challenge and the fun I have with the guild is the major reason I do them

this can all seem strange to alot of players but I haven’t played loads of mmorpgs, the only one that came close was the online Co-op Rpg Guild Wars and sa non-traditional F2P game wich was heavily (commical) story based

well he started the war with putting all his money in his army and fight the luxons/kurzicks

he was losing so he went looking for artifacts, sounds possible to me.

we just don’t have alot of info about Cantha right now( and this theory looks really cool! but is just made up out of thin air)

Somewhere in Cantha is a ED, probaply to the south

Emperor Usoku leaded Cantha and had loads of problems including the Kurzicks and the Luxons, he wanted to unite them under the imperial banner, but he was losing the battle. so he looked for a powerful artifact to help him in his cause. he went south of the lands of Cantha where the Gods brought the Humans to Tyria, there HAD to be a powerful artefact.

He found some special artefacts in a ancient temple, but slowly it corrupted the emperor, with the artefct he could defeat all the foes of Cantha, mad with power he defeated the Tengu, He became a corrupted being, a DRAGON CHAMPION!

you might think well the emperor should be like 200 years old, well because of the corruption he can’t die of age, he never leaves his castle and his masters minions patrol the streets.

wich makes sense, becausse Drakkar=Dragon and how do the Norn Call Jormag again, idd Dragon

HoM was cool, Old LA(go check it out!) loads of spots in Ascalon (the Balth statue in plains of ashford!) in the Catacombs I could reconigze a few pre areas, etc

I think A-net done a good job with creating the overal world!

A easy way to do HM is: once reached lvl 80 you will have the oppertunity to activate “Hard Mode” it means you will get better drops, but you will be downscaled a few lvl’s behind the actual lvl of the zone.
