I think that’s the height of laziness. Having said that, if Anet ever introduce a system where this would happen then I wouldn’t care what other people do as long as I would have the option to not have all waypoints uncovered.
I think the mayority of players are casual, not hardcore and don’t feel as completing the map all over again with another character. This is just help for players that already complete the map once.
I’m so casual I don’t even have map completion yet on any of my characters in getting close to two years of play. Different people play differently. I’ll stand by my opinion since you asked for our thoughts.

I haven’t looked in on this thread since halfway down page 1 so I thought I’d see how its going since the topic is sort of interesting. Vayne vs the zerg again! Just like old times except the zerg talent has certainly dropped away.
This game is still plugging away no matter what people on the forum say. Of course, that’s just based on my own in-game experience and I’ve seen what people think about that sort of evidence.

For sure. Even Springer was niche entertainment.

Stop complaining!
You can click on the name and see the persons post history. You will find that the ones with huge long posts have huge long posts for in some cases two years. Nothing has changed in their huge long posts in that whole time.
So those people are not just complaining to complain but have specifics concerns to keep talking about. Until they give up, don’t care or Anet fixes it.
It’s called having an obsession. It’s very pretty.
Thats of course also a way to try and dismiss everything. It does not help anything but heey it might give you a good feeling.
I do dismiss everything, completely. None of it is my problem and never has been. But it is an obsession.

So two years is about the limit then?
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Well that’s disappointing. I saw this topic and thought I’d finally be able to finish it.
I wasn’t able to finish the second part because I made 4 characters at launch and didn’t want to rush levelling them so I wasn’t high enough level for the second part, and didn’t bother asking my guild to run me through because I assumed I could do it the next year.
I can’t even get it started. I don’t know which of us would be more frustrated.

It is true that I usually come to the forums to gripe or complain, but I am playing GW2 because it is entertaining and engaging; thank you ANet for that!

I wasn’t going to read your opening post for this very reason but grats!
I don’t mind this style of content either. When you mentioned that they could put more of this dungeon type in I immediately thought of having one each themed around Frost and Flame, Toxic, and Aetherblade.

I thought I was fairly decent at jump puzzles until I tried this for the first time only 15 minutes ago. Its going to need a bit more work from me to last longer than 30 seconds! Or a different character.
One thing though: why is the restart timer so slow? I was getting the “you’ll be kicked” message while waiting for the next go. I’m not that bad!
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
depends on each… man.
I chose not to gamble / participate in guild lottery (precursor reward) / use the mystic forge for random things (precursor again) and so on.
I am sure I have only to lose in terms of in-game gold.
But I’m happy cutting trees and harvesting iron.I manage about 2-3g / day, but I am happy with myself and I will stick to my principles.
And may I sincerely say good for you. Its nice to see people give a point of view on the forums without pointing fingers and getting all holier-than-thou. Or narky.
The tone of your post didn’t indicate that, anyway
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Did the broom come with an outfit? I thought it was a separate item. And yeah…support.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
For me, I always would buy the new items each week with real money then convert whatever was left over into gold to use since I work a lot and can’t farm for gold. Supported the game I loved with thousands of dollars spent and helped me keep up with gear/items I wanted. Now I’m stuck with having left over gems that can’t convert to gold directly since there isn’t an option that matches it. Only options are waste money and have random gems left I can’t use or stop spending my money. It’s an easy choice for me and means I can use the money elsewhere at the cost of a few less skins.
Lisa gives jblade a hug. Me too. I work a lot and have a real life which leaves me with buying gems. I hate the tiers for converting gems to gold for the very reason you said.
As far as random gems go, saving them till the next purchase is an option, but not a good option. If I am in a converting mood, I want the ability to convert ALL, or a certain amount my gems, to gold which can’t be done with the tiers.
Sigh.
Lisa.
I’m in the same boat. I can live with the change (and most likely still buy gems) but its not particularly appealing for odd amounts.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Yeah, I don’t mind it. You can get the tickets without spending money. I also bet on the Moa races when we had them. Poor old Mort, I made money off him.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Alright thanks. Seems like it leans more on the casual side which is good, would I be rewarded if I wanted to spend a whole day screwin’ around on GW2 though once in a while?
It leans so far on the casual side it almost falls over! (and according to some people it has…)
And what do you consider a days worth of reward? You’ll have to figure that out when you get there, I think.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
I don’t have any constructive feedback but I’m scratching my head as to why this change was really needed. I’ve seen the reasons and there be something I’m not getting.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
At this stage I’d say GW2 is looking good enough for you for something pretty casual. You aren’t going to miss out on anything but the amount of achievement points you’d get for doing the dailies.
Endgame is very subjective around here and I don’t think anyone will truly be able to answer this until you say what you may expect from “endgame”. For the record, my endgame is rolling new characters, though I might stop that since I’m running out of space. WvW is fun but I don’t do it enough, and I haven’t done any PvP.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Because I’m working on the assumption that they don’t want to disappoint the thousands of European players who have reasonable hope to be able to play the update today rather than tomorrow.
Obviously it’s not an “official” delay, but given that they have the option of releasing it in time for players to be happy, or not, I’m giving them the credit of assuming they prefer the former.
What about the Oceanic players then? It is already the 22rd over there, and yet I have never actually seen anyone there complain about releases.
Thank you, Lordkrall.

I feel really ambivalent on this. On the one hand I have no problem with people grouping with like minded others to successfully complete things that need some coordination (Boss Blitz, Dry Top) but on the other I don’t like the elitist attitudes that this can foster.

If you know in your head that you could swap “to/too” for “also” or “as well” then the one you want is “too”. And just in case – “two” is the number.
Hope this clears it up.

Of course he had a choice. He could have gone to the Grove to let them know what had happened, even if not the whole story. He would likely have received whatever care they would have offered him as the squire and friend of a first born. The Pale Tree probably has more secrets than all the US intelligence agencies put together but I think they would tend towards murky grey (in favour of her Sylvari) rather than rotten black. She has a lot to look after so Sylvari first in these sorts of instances, humans second.
Children don’t think, or reason, or behave like adults — because they are NOT adults. They’re children. They don’t generally possess the wisdom or experience necessary to deal with most adult matters. Facing hordes of undead is something that would give a lot of adults trouble, even in a world where such things are known to exist. Waine was a child put into a situation no child should ever have to face. He did what children have done ever since there have been children — when confronted by something too terrifying for him to handle, he panicked and ran away. He was probably too scared to seek out the sylvari, even if he had been capable of getting back to the Grove on his own. Again: he was a child. And we don’t know what happened to him immediately afterward.
Let’s go back to that fateful day, courtesy of the GW2 wiki:
(SPOILERS BELOW)
Riannoc: We make our stand here. The Pale Tree has given me a mighty weapon. Armed with Caladbolg, we cannot fail.
Squire Waine: The lich is powerful, Riannoc. His army is vast!
Riannoc: What good is power when it’s afforded to you by an evil master? What good is an army when you’re standing against love, honor, and loyalty?
Squire Waine: But none of your kind has ever experienced death. Do you even understand fear?
Riannoc: I don’t need to understand it. I only need to do what is right.
Squire Waine: No! I’m… I’m afraid. I’m frightened, Riannoc! I can’t… stay…
And later:
Riannoc: Waine! Where are you?
Squire Waine: I can’t do this! The lich is too strong. I’m too scared! Let’s use the sword to save ourselves. Come on! Let’s go!
Riannoc: Caladbolg… the sword is powerful. With it, we have a chance to-
Squire Waine: A chance to escape… yes! Riannoc, I want to live. I have to get out of here. I don’t want to die!
Riannoc: Waine! No! I need Caladbolg to kill Mazdak! Come back! I cannot give up! Mazdak is coming! Forgive him, Mother. We were both… too young…
Waine was obviously terrified. He tried to convince Riannoc to leave. Riannoc — poor, betrayed Riannoc — should have left. Live to fight another day — and leave the kid at home next time. But, no. Poor, betrayed Riannoc didn’t care what he was dragging Waine into, didn’t care that Waine was obviously not capable of handling it. He had his mighty weapon and his belief that with it, he and one frightened child could conquer an army.
Riannoc was a fool; his foolishness doomed himself, and the boy who should never have been allowed to follow him. He began to realize it, there at the end. Too late.
Which brings us to this: the sylvari’s utter lack of sympathy for a child put in mortal danger by one of their own, a child who was not the betrayer, but the betrayed, whose young life was ruined by the stubborn foolishness of a sylvari Firstborn, and further, the vindictiveness so self-righteously displayed by the sylvari against adult Waine, speaks volumes.
There are indeed secrets in the earth, and the (bad) apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when there is trouble in the roots.
Riannoc was born an adult and was still a child at the same time. Neither of them should have been there. Riannoc made a poor choice at the start and Waine made his poor choice afterward.

(SPOILER ALERT)
— I messed up and did the branch (no pun intended) of the sylvari personal story that makes me want to slap all sylvari everywhere for being such judgmental kittenes. That idiot firstborn Riannoc should be raised from the dead and then executed for endangering a child and consequently ruining that child’s life. Talk about unfair! It wasn’t Waine’s fault Riannoc took him where he should never have been and clearly wasn’t prepared to go. Oh, but poor Riannoc, betrayed by his friend. Pfft. Poor kitten, you mean, hoist on his own petard. He should be (posthumously) given the Tyrian equivalent of a Darwin Award.
~Snip~
Sorry, but you’re reasoning and opinion here are wrong(even if it is your opinion). First off Waine basically signed up to be Riannoc’s Squire(though that is what he was called, that’s the general role of his position), and anyone that follows someone as a squire or even assistant, regardless of what age, if they know anything about what the person they work for is doing should know they might get involved with dangerous situations. If that person feels they will be unable to handle it, then it falls upon them to fess up and admit they can’t hack it and that their employer(which Riannoc was, he employed Waine) should find someone else to do the job. Instead we get a coward that basically screws his boss over because he’s a chicken kitten. Had I written that story, I would have made sure that Waine got skewered in that battle pit and left to die, not just lose and give up the sword.
No, sir. Waine was a child – he was clearly depicted as such, in the branch that lets us see the past – and Riannoc should have known better than to put a child in that position. It was Riannoc’s mistake, Riannoc’s fault. Waine’s life was ruined, and the sylvari were wrong to condemn him for it.
They were both children and neither of them should have been there. Having said that, Waine made the choice of where he was going to after that and that choice was to be a tool.
Ah, but did he have a choice? I suspect continued exposure to Caladbolg played a part in what he became. The Pale Tree, if there was anything at all of goodness in her, should have sought him out while he was still a child, and helped him. She had the means. She could have done it any time she saw fit. She didn’t. She didn’t care about him at all until she decided she needed Caladbolg back, and then it was all about avenging poor, betrayed Riannoc.
I think there’s something rotten in the Grove.
Of course he had a choice. He could have gone to the Grove to let them know what had happened, even if not the whole story. He would likely have received whatever care they would have offered him as the squire and friend of a first born. Read the previous posts, while running the game my connection stays at maximum speed and downloading other games is just fine. Gw2 is the problem. Nothing else
Does your PC have any older components in it? I was having a poor time earlier this year due to a couple of ageing bits and pieces, leading to issues with this game but not any others. Having read a few other posts with similar experiences I’m wondering if this game somehow manages to bring some little issues to the front that would otherwise be hidden for longer.
Edit: just went back over the thread and saw that its happening to your friends as well so probably no anything I typed.
