Decreasing revenue and pressure from Nexon to generate returns on their investment are what caused HoT to be a boxed expasion and not what I believe would’ve been season 3 of the living story. The small map increase and no New race which would’ve taken serious development hours for racial city and story are more like an entire season 2 dropping at once.
I’m pleased with a New class and masteries that finally take the RNG out of precursors but would this be a paid expansion if they were still making 2013 gem sales revenue? I doubt it.
The moment you mentioned Nexon you lost credibility. Nexon publicly tried to get more control over NcSoft and NcSoft gave them the finger. Publicly.
Nexon own 15% of NcSoft which is significant. Credibility is important if I claim to state fact, which I did not. The moment you claim that what a company says publicly indicates what is said internally you demonstrate naivety

How many alts do you people have?
I don’t want to be rude, but having 12 alts in any MMO is not exactingly normal.
My cousin was playing WoW from launch for more than 8 years continuously and still plays whenever a new expansion comes up, and he still only manage to level up and gear properly 6 of them!.. IN 8 YEARS!
You people having so many alts was the game’s fault at launch for not having enough end-game content. But if you start whining about every single progression mechanic becoming account-bound the game will never get it! The process of the game that will suffer the most and become the most grindy and mindless would be the process of making new characters!!!
Instead, making the Masteries Character bound would mean much less grind for the individual, and the option for more strategic decisions for the alts!
IMO, A-nets biggest mistake was to put the idea of account bound masteries in your heads so early in the first place!
I have 55 and I wouldn’t mind character bound but I also don’t mind the thought of account bound. It’ll make no difference to me.

Its just personal preference and taste. There’s plenty of people who would find it the opposite of yourself. No harm in disliking or liking art, except you find it hard to play the game.

I have two warriors and a guardian; the guardian and my original warrior are both decked out in T3 gear but my second warrior (of my niece’s creation) is a bit different.
Like I said, this is all her creation. Greatsword is the Crystal Guardian and swap is FDS and Primordus Warhorn. Backpiece is the L78 (top tier) Armoursmith piece.

thats basically why i dont play humans. I (personally) dont want to play a char that looks like he only just recently lost his braces and got permission of his parents to go out and kill dragons…but only till 10 cause tomorrow is school…and norn are too…norn for me (cant find my zen with that race…i really dunno why, by definition and style i should love em cause i usually love viking and nordic stuff). Heck my army of female charrs look unintentionally more manly then 90% of human males (what i find actually funny and i didnt even notice that i made a chick with my first and still main char). Though… i wont lie, id gladly make a human male…if there would be options to make a rugged, battle field shaped and “angry” or atleast experienced looking male. Something like this in the attachment would do it already for me. But back to the theme… not want to de-rail the topic too much
I was just looking at my humans (3 alts out of 55; 2 male, 1 female) and I think I did a fairly good job on them but I noticed I picked the same base face for the males. They still look different enough but its going to bother me a little now. Norn females are much easier but they can still be made to look a little cutesie, unfortunately.

Mate, just don’t call yourself bad for a start. You’re getting on with your game as best you can and trying to improve your skills, which if anything makes you a good player.
Being good or bad at the various types of gameplay is a different matter. It’s a bit nit-picky but better than putting yourself down.

Asia is not one monolithic culture with similar architecture. I sense that the three predominant cultures there, China/Japan/Korea would be upset if whatever style used didn’t reflect their own.
I understand and sympathize with being sensitive to cultural differences, but isn’t Cantha a mix of all things Western? And if you’ve taking any Western history, then you know that all of those countries have done horrible things to each other, even within the 20th century.

I think the problem is that it that it seems better to let people come at you and hide until you have a decisive advantage; should put something in the middle to fight for.
No, best strategy is at least a little team play. Try to stick to at least one other player. Don’t forget the health powerups in the middle, and learn the skills.
A single player is an easy pickup, a usually means death if you’re suddenly alone.
Top advice for this and all other team based activities.

Its also bad when you have jerks that single out one player like me that has canthan themed characters and Asian names including Jpn names. I know its going on as I have 5 on me within seconds. I just give up playing pvp in any form as even if I was good, I can’t do nothing against “lets beat up the Asian lover”.
There’s any number of reasons why you’d be picked on in the activity. One of which is “Massive Coincidence”.

I fail to see why people are still trying to give suggestions on fixing the trait system. It’s over people. They’ve made their decisions and do not really want your input whatsoever. If you still think they do, I have a bridge to sell you.
A fix is coming apparently, something you know perfectly well. Why keep that old one open? What could it possibly achieve any more? And it was only locked so anyone can still go back and look at it.

There are a lot of online stores which sell gem cards too. I really don’t get the physical copy/physical gem card thing anymore. A disc makes no sense if you have to basically download everything anyway because of patches, and physical gem cards just have the effort of me needing to go outside to buy a code on a piece of paper which I could also buy in electronic form in <2 mins.
But not in Australia. If I’m buying online from outside the country,. I’m losing due to our exchange rate. I’ve done the math. Might as well just buy gems from Anet in game if I can’t get them from an Australian shop.
Yep. I haven’t bought gems in months since the exchange rate has increased. I’m going to keep looking for cards here.

I was (almost) glad to see it reprised in Caithe’s memory with LS2.
They should really go back and give the charr in this heart visual indicators of where they can “see”, like the asura have in that mission. That would fix the biggest problem with that heart.

I once saw someone having a tough time in fight and rushed over to help but was too late. While reviving her I apologised for being late. She didn’t say anything back and once she got up I saw that I’d been talking and helping an NPC.

Maturity is a wonderful thing. The passive version will just sit back and regulate your actions and thoughts, all the while evolving as you experience life; the active version can be turned on and off.

mostly players though you get enough obvios racism from ebonhawke and seperatists and actually humans in general if you really wanna search for it. As for players..yea mostly “human purist players” really do hate charr…cant blame em though…ya know.. gw1 and stuff. Not like it bothers me personally too much but its there. Sylvari actually never had this and it amuses me to no end having the topics pop up and people whining about it.

Whatever people may think about the changes Anet have made to their game over the course of the last two and a bit years, the power creep has been negligible. Considering how much of a grip the devs seem to have on this aspect, one that has affected a lot of games, I can’t see them letting go of this. Obviously it may pan out differently but I don’t think so.
Power creep hasn’t been implemented in the past 2 years. What have we gotten for player progression?
Ascended gear, which barely adds anything on top of Exotic gear sans Agony Resistence. 2 new healing skills. And 5 new traits. This is hardly a power creep, especially compared to all the new masteries and specializations we’ll be getting.

The problem with “old content” becoming irrelevant is basically defined by power creep.
And the inherent problem with power creep is it’s unfriendly to new players – notoriously unfriendly. Oh you hit level cap, but you’re useless until you get ____ which you have to go through 2+ expansions of content for.

Regardless of the origin of the current trait system, the revelation that Nexon’s monetisation manager has spearheaded one of the most widely advertised features of the expansion to come, indeed a system that is touted as the basis for all future development of the game, has me, once again, deeply troubled.
Wait, what? Where did this come from? If she (I won’t use her name, as I don’t want to give the appearance that I’m “calling out” an ArenaNet employee) has her hand on the Masteries system (that’s what I presume you’re talking about) then I am very much concerned for the future of the game. I’m talking “DEFCON 1” concerned.
Its not a secret, even I’ve heard this. I thought it might have been in the IGN interview but I was able to have a quick look (I’m at work) and it wasn’t in that.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say we won’t be required to pay real money (or gem convert) for the Masteries.

If you find something game that doesn’t work as expected, and you get an advantage from it, and they think you should have known they didn’t intend for it to work that way, can’t you still be banned for using their own unmodified game in a way they didn’t intend?
Why single out Anet for this? Every mmo I’ve ever played has had their developers do this.
I didn’t mean to single them out, it just struck me as interesting that people are complaining about being redirected to the ToS and somewhat vague guidelines for approval for uses of 3rd party mods when I realized the exact same situation most likely applies to their own official game client.
Looks to be related issues, like cousins maybe. I think there may be something explicit about exploiting game bugs in the ToS but I’m relying on a vague memory of someone putting the info up in a thread. Might not even have been for this game. Anyone who’s ever played an mmo should know about exploiting actual game bugs, though.

I’m wondering if the Soundless might finally come into their own here. If they’re strong enough to be able to ignore the Dream then you’d think they might strong enough to resist the call of Mordremoth as well. There might be a role for them to play.

I’m thinking of quitting too.
I play ranger and it’ s the most broken class in this game.
No survival skills, pets are simply useless ( they die istantly). I hoped for a balance that never came to this game. ( example : a warrior hitted me few days ago with an 11k eviscerate burst skill…if this is not unbalance well tell me what it is).
I doubt things will change for ranger class.
But I will be honest if they make ranger decent in the next expansion I will definetly buy it. If they don’t…I’ ll save my money XD
And you still wouldn’t know how to play it. My advice to you is…well I don’t have any since you don’t know how to take any. Just give it up.

1. Right click on your desktop and open NVIDIA Control Panel.
2. Select “Manage 3D settings” on the left side under “3D Settings”.
3. In the “Global Settings” tab you will find two DSR options.
DSR – Factors: This enables higher resolutions that will be downsampled to your native resolution. I use 2.00x and 4.00×.
DSR – Smoothness: Blurs the picture in case it might be too sharp. I use 0% but it really depends on the game, some games are unbearable with blur, some look better with a little bit.

4. The new resolutions will now show up ingame in the graphics options.
But remember, the UI can become very small depending on how high resolution you pick.
