There are some alternatives that make it less painful but takes a bit more time. One thing is to activate the respective tracks if u pvp or wvw so u can get some koda currency. The other is to do the dungeon achievement by doing ac, cm,ta,cof, coe. Finding groups for these dungeons is a lot easier since many people find Honor of the waves as a bit tedious.
Oiii come on now……mossman has the health of a mob now, even if wolves are annoying they can be kited + mossman just dies too fast to make wolves relevant.
As for bloomhunger, the break bar is surprisingly small, a single chrono, war or rev can probably break it by themselves. Health on bloomhunger has also been gutted unless thats the toughness scaling not existing anymore that makes it go down so fast.
Mobs during onslaught phase are also glass, they die to a few autoattacks and the aoe condi bombs are fewer and easier to avoid than b4 and poison flowers have been reduced drastically. As for the wisp phase, if the group didnt bother to set personal wp’s then it deserves a wipe.
After this fractal got nerfed it became easier than a lot of other t4 fractals.
I agree 100%. The changes were almost universally bad in fractals.
not all bad. it’s just the recycled content thrown into every stage is. new name for fractals = “recycled wars 2”
To be fair, people would LOVE lupi from arah to be recycled into a fractal boss. They wouldn’t even need to change much/anything
I’d actually like to see this. Or at least some risen-themed fractal with lupi at the end.
Hmm i remember doing aetherblade t4 a couple of days ago. The fight against the guards in that pit with random mai trin cannons, flux bombs, maw tentacles was one of the most exciting fights i had in a long time.
The poison instability can be very annoying though. Today on snow blind we literally had no room to move on shaman. We managed to kill the boss although it was a messy fight.
I’ll just say that the hardest is prob Matthias, for pugging. The boss practically tests the group on mechanics, reflexes, overall awareness. One attempt and you can single out the chat code spammers……
Suffice to say that running it with experienced guildies makes the boss very fun instead of tedious like any other boss.
I main mesmer, have 4 asc sets for every possible occasion and i literally play the **** out of him. Atm i also got pretty much every class except ranger/engi geared up for pve (fracs/raids). If u play mostly solo sticking to your main 100% is fine by all means. If u are interested in group content like pve/wvw raids having only one class properly geared and played is like shooting yourself on the foot.
Even when just doing fractals with guildies some times some1 has to change class so we can actually get a decent set up.
Hmm i usually just buy inv/bank slots, especially bank slots are needed after some point. Rest are all optional. Yesterday i also bought the mursaat combo….nothing else to do with my gold at this point.
Each map has 14 apples, after that u can just change map and do them again. It’s boring and braindead but doable.
As for locations check this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/53pgmd/hungry_hal_achievement/
As someone posted above this won’t probably change the winner at the end of the week, most populated servers will still get the lead but it will put incentive into fighting for these “skirmishes” since the goal is clear rather than non stop map flipping. For example a guild raid could run for a random number of hours depending on the map situation but now a guild can have a clear goal to inside and fight for a win on 2 skirmishes=4h etc.
As i said it probably won’t change the end result but gives perspective and another way to interact with wvw content. Regardless of whether it will work or not it is miles better than all the wvw changes we got over the years in terms of direction.
Overall it is a vicious and repetitive cycle. With pvp population being as small as it is it’s almost impossible for good matchmaking to exist, otherwise queue times would be extremely long. And because of the bad matchmaking a lot of people drop pvp and do other stuff….so mm gets even worse and so on…..
On pvp based games with high population grinding your ranking could take months and even then it is separated into “solo” and “team” ranking which makes it kinda worthless to grind.
A separated solo/team mm system would help gw2 pvp a great deal yet the low playerbase makes it again impossible…..such a vicious cycle.
Run trailblazer/rabid etc condi stuff, spread the aids, watch your chat getting purple from the spam and proceed to brag about your button spam. Or go full yolo power, tryhard your kitten off and have a bit of fun even if u die a lot.
But running as a veil bot in zergs is way too boring.
A lot of people I know just don’t have enough time to play, with raids, fractals dailies, dailies, living world, achievements etc. I would personally do more but I can’t play as much as I wish :P
I usually grab pact materials, do dailies+fractals dailies=30-40min(depending on fractals)
If i have spare time i either go for some raid kills or roam wvw or multiloot if i need gold.
Having played the dungeon content so many times it feels too easy and boring, especially since the HoT power creep with gazillion dps even with downscaling.
The gold earned by doing the achievement is okay only with a speedclearing group and even then it pales to other alternatives.
U could add a lot of cons here, way too much “stack-n-clear”,when that doesnt work just invisibility and skip, no reason for any support/heal just dps, annoying bugs and gimmicks like npc’s getting stack all over the place or skipping half the path through various mechanics, bosses that die faster than mobs and the list goes on and on…….
Dungeons are just too outdated atm and since most pve’rs have a “gold/time” mindset there other stuff they would rather do.
i can say with honesty that the fractal indeed needs some changes. We were doing the dailies with 2 necr/druid/engi/war. Everything was smooth but unfortunately when we started bloomhunger warrior was pretty much useless. At some point the war left (probably furious) and we proceeded to lfg one more (ranged) and faceroll it.
If u got nice ranged classes the frac is as easy as any other, unfortunately its awkward for classes that can only perform from melee range.
Hmm… everything about GW2 lured me in, especially pve and wvw.
But the cake goes to raids, pretty much the best team content i’ve played so far and i’ve played a large amount of multiplayer games. That feeling when i killed vg for the first time was awesome.
As a mesmer main through and through i’d say most of these ideas make me smile, still it’s quite a wall of text so i need to read it again to get a clear picture but overall seems like it’s putting things is place and doesnt spread them around too much making the class much more powerfull.
Unfortunately with condition builds being so broken at the moment all this would create is more rage and toxicity.
Still +1 from me for the time put in this.
PS: Im only interested in power builds, condi is plain boring.
Grinding for asc stuff that u could only get through raids b4…. I got most of my gear from raids and it took months to get all the stuff i wanted (mostly viper/commander trinkets).
Grinding it out for a few days aint that bad if u ask me, unless u are one of those people that just complain for the sake of complaining.
Hmm, i can agree with the nerfing but not the druid, HoT pets are the problem. Seems like they do 70% of the job while druid is kiting, healing all the dmg non-stop. It comes to a point where a druid afk’s and the smokescale/bristle just does the rest.
I dont really play druid but i fight a lot of them on wvw, i can honestly say that even druid mains should not be happy with this state atm, unless they’re too lazy to press buttons.
Hmm i usually wvw but i’ve seen a lot of power mesmers running illusion+1 for the might stacks with some boon duration.. It’s pretty good and the reduced cooldowns make the fights really smooth. I’ve also tried an interrupt build running chaos for might stacks on interrupt and it stacks might a lot faster but its a big sacrifice as chaos with power stats is kinda awkward.
i usually just run with full zerk, gs sword/shield or sword/focus….but its open world u dont need a build u can do it with anything. If u want to run HoT zones and Bloodstone map u can just trait inspiration for a bit of sustain but that’s optional.
For metas i just use a bit of commander gear cause i like the big uptime quickness+the rest of the boons from squad.
Another thing u can do is just use the condi gear of wvw if u got a set already but its not worth crafting one just for open world.

2 things u need for the fight..1st get your ranged game going.
2nd: kitten learn to dodge
I literally had a warrior trying to cleave with gs then dying 5-6 times b4 leaving….as soon as we replaced 1-2 people who kept dying over and over Boom. Bloomhunger dead. It’s all a l2p issue
I was literally shocked with the incompetence of the playerbase today on swamp, u explain the mechanics of the fight and the groups keep wiping over and over again….. I feel that Bloomhunger as a boss takes way too much time to kill and its a bit irritating not being able to melee at all but in the end its purely l2p issue.
Better start gearing that rev asap…. Retal is the worst thing in T4 fractals and guards can pump out retal like crazy. If u get an engi on the group as well be prepared to either kick the engi or kick yourself cause those blasts are gonna give retal 24/7.
Why do Veteran Bristlebacks have breakbars?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: zoomborg.9462
Everytime u kill a vet bristeback and the little ones in the back watch u kill their mama…. I say buff em! More hp,stronger breakbar, more dmg until the little ones are happy their mama not dead.
I just want power mesmer back, im still playing it and having fun with it but at times i’d like to fight on equal ground. Helps Helps!
No, no and no. Enough with these stupid siege implementations….
What is anet even trying to achieve here…this is complete nonsense.
The best investment i made in this game is to buy myself a comm tag. I just create my own groups and dont give a kitten about anything. U should do the same and save yourself the trouble of finding a group.
That’s a the best way until u start racking up LI’s and u can join groups with ease.
I usually run full power yolo chrono on wvw. Had a pretty rough time at the start with all this powercreep but i got used to it and its pretty succesfull…. Today i crafted a carrion set and roamed a bit…. Wtf braindead stuff, i killed 2 druids 2v1 with full condi cleanse by smashing my head on the keyboard…and they were actually playing good.
After that i switched back to yolo build so i can have some semblance of reward when i kill someone instead of feeling like i killed a mob in pve..
My only hope is that they buff power mesmer so the dmg is a bit more sufficient against all these classes with ridiculous sustain.
The real problem is that it was a recap, not a trailer.
Only the last 5 seconds was a trailer.
Exactly what this one said. This is by no means a trailer.
Wow, just wow. Srsly u dont need a trial to see how negative this change would be for wvw….there’s always a ton of siege everywhere but at least u kill it its over. Now everything is gonna get repaired over and over again.
Considering siege is “dummy-proof” i shouldnt be surprised at the current poll results.
Wow threads like this every day…..
Raids are good because they’re challenging.
The only people atm who are cut off from raids are people with little time on their hands to find a group or join their guildies, that i can completely understand.
The rest are the usual plebs that want things handed to them, “make asc gear cheaper, make easy mode for raids, make mechanics easier cause im bored to use 2 hands”.
Then everyone comes up with excuses like raid story content. Easy mode raids would have very poor rewards and people would only play them once (for the story), then proceed to forget about them.
Next on news…this random guy hasnt payed taxes in 5 years. The fsp council will be taking legal action and soon will go to trial.
Instanced content is interesting and fun. Your best bet is to watch some vids/tutorials see the basics/mechanics of dungeons/fractals. Its not a big deal if u dont and just learn by trial and error but considering a large amount of people prefer to speedrun thins for max efficiency u might as well create your own group on lfg “asc p1 all welcome” etc…
as for raids…well its a long way of. The amount of experience and gold needed to succesfully raid is really big. Just leave it for when u got enough classes/good gear and a lot of free hours on your schedule.
i definately see a lot more players in wvw and in dungeons, fractals have much more activity as well and raids are keeping the hardcore players interested especially with the 3rd wing coming.
Unfortunately pvp is still suffering with huge balance issues, cant notice the difference cause pvp population was always a bit low.
Overall game aint dying.
Being pretty new to raids, only 5 LI so far, i have to say that those who really wanna play raids are gonna get into them sooner or later. I started from nothing, never joined a raid guild for teaching runs nor had people on friendlist to pick me up and carry me through it.
People who just complain about raid accesibility and stop there have a completely different mentality than what is required to succesfully clear bosses. Generally, these are the people that sit on the forums and whine about everything while the rest are playing the game.
Build i made recently, viper wepons/armor + rampager trinkets with runes of your choice (i use perplexity but still experimenting with it). Some people might wonder why rampager….. so i can keep my crit chance at 50%+ otherwise power becomes irrelevant. So far the build works really good. I went with full ascended gear so i can squeeze out all the stats. I use gs/sword/shield.
Overall i traded ferocity stat + 200 power for 2000 condi dmg and some condi duration.
The downside is u need illusion and domination so u can keep both the condies and the power burst from shatters leaving u with no slot for inspiration unless u dont mind losing some extra dps/utility. In my mind dueling tree is not needed anymore if u run chrono, the vigor is not so important since u probably run sigil of energy and the deceptive evasion is an overkill. Chaos is for kitten anyway Kappa.

As someone posted above, the exclusive reason for the pvp backpack is to increase overall pvp activity-> more pve players into pvp. These kind of players will just go back to pve after achievements are done and farm whatever gold they need in a very short time.
U could say that the backpack is directed to them to begin with, the rest are still a minority. Trying to find reason is irrelevant since its all about promotion.
There cannot be a proper matchmaking system unless the pvp aspect has about triple number of players….
What the hell with this thread…..dailies take a lot less now actually cause no world boss, u can skip the event completion almost every time and as someone posted above jumping puzzles are freebies (portals). And if thats still too much just go wvw and kill 2 guards…..kitten lazy people.
Hmm both opinions expressed are correct here. Duelers take space on the map while people who wanna go and roam, flip camps, take keeps and generally contribute are w8ing in the queue.
On the other hand, having the freedom to do whatever u want is one of the beauties of wvw.
All in all, unless there is some actual reward to winning in points, not much incentive for people to protest, just leave it be.
Once i went into a duel and just starting jumping around on top of them while they we’re fighting, no dmg just jumping with my huge kitten charr. I think someone grabbed my tail though.
I usually play chrono on raids since i have more experience on it but lets be serious… swinging that hammer like there’s no tomorrow and watching the numbers pop is a lot of fun. Utility on dh is also exceptionally good but man the hammer is love.
Hmm i just log in n play the tier 4’s with my usual zerk chrono, tempest…it’s still easy but takes a bit more time. Agree with OP though condies work better, just too lazy to farm new asc gear n stuff.
Just dont use that stupid longbow on dungeons/fractals and everyone will be happy.
We dont need no guides. Just need full-dps-ultra-super-dps-zerker-faceroll-meta-gg.
2nd expansion:
Actually the Egg will open, release its energy and change the landscape or something. Then the forgotten will awake once again and kill everyone. BB tyria.
My nose bled last night and it was not Johnny.
Big part of small view counts is that Helselth is a great player but a bad host. Every now and then he just goes afk or starts typing stuff for 10 minutes completely ignoring the stream (the irony), having the same generic music play every stream, raging like a little kid when someone does bad plays, …. every high profile streamer out there is pushing himself to attract people, whether its gameplay, personality, vibe and most of them stream for like 3-4 hours a day, building their viewership one person at a time.
U need some serious dedication to push your numbers and helthseth is one of the least i’ve seen. Best reasonn is probably cause “he has a life”, as he would say, unfortunately almost all these popular streamers sacrifice part of their social life for their viewers. Changing to some more popular game wont make any difference.
I think most lfg requirements take it a bit far…still i don’t find them irrational or elitist. Random people dont trust other random people to know their stuff so LI’s are the only way to measure someone’s experience.
Is it 100% accurate? No
More like 70% accurate.
For people struggling to get into raids, i see so so many training groups on lfg every single day.
Rather than whining on the forum go join and get experience until u can slowly rack some LI and be on your way.
Little tip: try going with the more difficult roles in raids, it will make u more desired even if u dont have LI n stuff. For example trying VG as a tank, healer, condi will get u a lot more invites than playing a standard power dps (lfg is overflowing with PS wars)
Same logic on Gorseval: Every Gors run has at least 2-3 tempest, why not gear one so u make your chances better. It’s not rocket science.
As for the topic:
People who can go in raids. pull their weight and kill bosses fast and smooth are probably in the “elite” of the playerbase. Asking for people with similar experience is not “elitism”, it’s rather logical unless its a training run. And that’s coming from a newbie to raids.
Hmm, so has this been fixed or what?
