People don’t talk in “/say” because they choose not to, you can’t create a special place that will change people’s desire to do so…some could say Lion’s Arch could be such a place…but it doesn’t change the fact that everyone seems to prefer to chat in “/guild” or better yet, actually talking with frieds in various voice apps.
I also don’t feel that dueling being added will make any significant difference on this front. Some will enjoy it, some won’t, some won’t care one way of another, heck some even use duel challenges as a means to grief others. but it really won’t make a real difference to the social aspect of the game.
I would love to be able to find, or somehow unlock alternate skills (based on class / weapon combinations) that would allow for greater variety to characters.
I like anything that offers more variety to appearence…I say YES!
I would have to agree here, I would rather just hear a sound effect than these voices…or no sound at all for the events they signify to be honest.
If they do lower the cost I expect to be compensated for the three slots I’ve already purchased.
I wouldn’t count on that…nor would I expect it. businesses drop prices all the time, and they don’t go reimbursing their customers that have already made a purchase at the higher price, and it would be unrealistic to expect it here honestly.
I also hope it is instanced. persistant houses sounds great on paper, until you’ve experienced the lag that comes with all that housing, not to mention destroying the aesthetics of the beautifuly rendered environments.
I think a decent alternative to instanced housing ala EQ2, having reserved zones exclusively for free standing houses where one could vendors out on the porch extc. It’s hard to get buyoff on house, due to so many people that consider it a waste of time, myself, I can’t wait for it…no matter how it is implemented.
Please give each character their own bank storage. Or at a minimum, add additional capacity for each character added to the account…keep the option to buy more space, but when you have 8-10 characters, the default space is simply… unfairly small.
I don’t neccessarily think that the slot price should be lowered, but each character should have it’s own bank slots, and when you buy a character slot it should come with additional storage as a part of the purchase price honestly
I would love to have a tool tip that allowed you to view the “heart rewards” available from the map screen when you click on a heart that you have already completed.
one thing it would allow, at least in my case I completed a zone with my daughter, and then later the 2 of us wanted to go redo the zone with my sister and her husband, and not have everything being completed already…which makes it kind of boreing.
I would love to see greater variety of mobs too…so sick of nothing but “Risen” I really think this adds to the monotony of the zones as well…like watching I Love Lucy reruns all day every day.
I would love this feature “if” they offered options not available in the initial character creation…if all they have are the same options available at creation, then I personally wouldn’t find it very interesting at all. That being said, I think a better way to do this would be to offer an in-game barber that allowed recustomization with in game currency, and alternative hairstyles etc… offered in the gem store.
Guess I fail to see the point of this to be honest…buy a game and then not play it? just curious
ban the username; it is the same for the forums, and the game…if you gather enough infractions here to justify a temporary or permanent ban, have it be applied to the account username, not many truely care if they can’t access the forums for a time, but if they are also restricted from the game for same duration, the consequenses have a little more meaning.
People shouldn’t have to be told to be civil, but with internet anononymity, people tend to behave in a manner with each other in ways they would never dream of doing in person. MMO forums in general are much worse than most. sadly
Yes…this has been suggested more than once, and I still agree. Seems this should have been an option straight out of the gate. Not sure why this hasn’t been added already.
I disagree with the “griefing” issue, as a player at their keyboard can simply choose not to attack the “trap mob” where bot groups just pop attack anything that spawns near them, and if a player accidentily attacks one they are right there to correct the situation
give the “trash mob” a randomized name like the bots use so they can’t program them to be ignored. and it will be obvious to an actual player what it is. “sdghsgh”
if the timer expires, have the system autolog the toon (not autoban), and send a report to system for botting pending investigation.
Capn, certainly no disrespect to you, but
“but you could sit for 2 hours thinking and writing an awesome topic” <—- This is a personal opinion, and precisely what I am talking about. “IF” it was truely an “awesome topic” the nature of a forum like this would keep it on page one anyways.
I would have to say no, I hope this never gets added…why? because everyone tends to think their own posts are important…if people could just click a “bump” button, I’d bet page 1 would be cluttered with post many people would find irrelivent.
I would also like to see the reporting feature made more robust. if not the above suggestion or in addition to it; perhaps making the system so that you cannot open a report window on a character that you have already reported…or giving you a warning / notice that you have already reported this character. When they are in a thick pack, it’s very easy to click on the wrong toon.
People that don’t like, or want to PvP, never will, no matter what “incentives” there might be. Many are server hopping just to complete their 100% maps; not so they can go PvP, but rather to minimize the impact of being forced into it, to complete what they want to.
People that want nothing to do with PvP, shouldn’t ever have to go PvP to accomplish a PvE task. PvPers don’t like their aspect of the game skewed by PvEers bouncing around, and are generally wanting to compete with others of a similar mindset.
Allow non PvPers to complete their maps without having to engage in PvP in any way, and I’ll bet most of that issue goes away. The 2 groups really can exist together as long as concessions are made that don’t require either group to compromise their desired playstyle.
I wish they had people in game actually policing things real time. Seems like bots run out of control forever before any “banning” happens.
Most are painfully blatent about it, if there were in game GMs, with a ban stick, things could be much easier. Some areas are so thick with them it is impossible to even play the game normally.

After a recent patch they dont work anymore on equipped items.
If thats the case, unequip item first.
Otherwise, be more detailed about the problem.
Thanks for the suggestion …will try that when I get home from work and see if that works, will follow up here one way or another.
We’ve tried basic and fine stones, dropped and purchaced stones, tried it on weapons and armor pieces. The exact same thing occurs on both of our accounts, and both of our machines.
Using them exactly the same way that I’ve always successfully used them all along:
Open the transmutation window; drag and drop two “similar” items (ie 2 light armor chest pieces); select the characteristics from all 3 categories that I wish to keep; (good transmutation) becomes highlighted; press the button; both items revert back to their original inventory slot; transmutation doesn’t happen.
Don’t lose the stone, don’t lose either item, the only thing I lose is my desired appearence
I’m assuming they are bugged as they do not seem to work on Mine or my dauighter’s account.
Hope this gets fixxed soon, our appearence choices are very limited, and not very exciting, so when I do actually find a look I like, I would like to keep it.
I liked the concept of the Bard that they had in Vanguard, too bad the game bombed so hard (with just cause)
I would agree with this… I think it should display the last “in game” appearence of your characters. hidden pieces, pvp armor etc…let us see our characters the way we chose them to look in game.
Daily server resets would work aswell. Or change the broken skill points into commune skill points
Like this too…more options for securing a temporary soloution until a fix is found are great. thank you!
The email response suggeded that I post this in the public forums, and draw attation to it…As they imply that suggestions that receive atequet response tend to draw the attention of the development team…figured I would try to go that route.
The skill points are pretty annoying, I agree. My opinion is people are just generally in too big of rush to finish content. The issue is you finish the content, then complain / whine about wanting more content. Just be patient, go WvW, PvP, complete another area, do some jumping puzzles, do some dungeons, etc…
What are you talking about whining and complaining??? I been on since launch, I do not have a single character at 80, have 5 between 35 and 60 though…hardly “rushing through” I think… if you read the OP, I was not “complaining” but rather making some constructive suggestions to allow us a work around until they have time to actually fix the issue. I was attemting to be constructive…much unlike your response…but thanks for your useful observation.
If you agree, please sign and endorse this, to hopefully draw some attention to the issue, as A-net’s emails always imply.
I now have 4 maps, that are hung up with broken skill points ( if we can manage to spawn into the overflow, we can complete them) Sadly in most cases the population is to low for the map to generate an overflow. Here are some suggested work arounds:
1) Please allow your players to force themselves into an overflow map to complete our maps until such time as the developement team has time to properly address and fix the soloution permanently.
or
2) If someone opens a ticket specificly for a broken skill point, please sign the point off and assign the appropriate reward to that player.
I would have preference to option #1 as the player could still play through the challenge, and the overflow system already exists…we just need to be able to force ourselves into it, and it wouldn’t require any GM intervention.
that should be a no-brainer…resurrecting shouldn’t cost money, when you die it should default to the closet point at no cost, give you the option to accept and ressurrect now, or decline and choose an alternate point at the normal cost.
just no…this doesn’t seem right, nor does it seem fair to someone who has earned it. you died, you died, that’s all there is to it.
I think he is refering to people offering a “leveling service” generally offered by the same companies that sell gold…basikittenhey play your account with you credentials without you there to level your character for you.
This is a great way to get your account security compromised and or banned. they can bot with your character farm gold with your character to sell to someone else, and if it gets banned oh well.
and it violates the EULA.
Why is it people who have never joined a guild, only been invited are considered "kicked" or "left"

I personally hate the recruiting policy of many of the guilds I’ve seen in game…the shotgun technique: spam invites out to everyone they see… if that’s called recruitment, then the guild deserves to show it’s blemishes…If someone cannot bother to send me a tell, asking me if I would like to join them, and then just send an invite, kitten straight I’m going to ignore or decline the invitation. I’m sure guilds that show a little more respect by contacting people first to ask if they are interested probably don’t have this problem.
There’s no way to exploit this :P
I want to be able to see people swear.
I have to say I agree! …couldn’t care less about these people wishing to stroke their own ego. They have done nothing to “qualify” for this attention.
would love to hear an answer on this too. what sort of ballpark timeframe are we looking at for rollouts?
amen to that…
they want people to buy the keys, put statless skins for armor and weapons in chests with a reasonable drop rate add items that people may want…the crap in the chests right now are not worth my money, or are too rare to try for. you want people to BUY your stuff, make it worth something…currently, not the case.
I have plenty of disposable income, so far I have opened about 15 chests, and have gotten nothing but rubbish, I have no interest in spending my gems on the privlege to get more rubbish…if they had dyes, and gear skins and other interesting vanity objects, I might be so incline to spend money on them…but I’ve seen nothing remotely worth my cash coming from them.
what are these"perma-items" that were mentioned earlier?
I would like to see a Bard class, with weapons crossed between Ranger and Thief, musical instruments for casting buffs, debuffs and heals.
but how much XP for killing them in PvP?
yep…pretty much about the size of it.
would love to see craftable skins, vendor bought skins, gem bought skins, dropped skins…all of em, anything to give us a broader variety of options of looks.
yes please… thank you!
I tend to feel the same as the OP about medium armor in general. As a level 60 Ranger, I have yet to wear anything that felt “Rangerish”…it seems my choices are Pirate, or Thief.
How long must we wait before we start seeing some influx of statless vanity items of greater variety added to the game via Drops, vendor purchace, gem purchace, or crafting…preferably all of the above.
I don’t mind balancing issues being delt with off line from the appearence, love the dye selections, the transmutation stones are a great idea, now just give us some cool options to play with…I haven’t yet looked at my character and thought how cool they looked…we can buy 2 different top hats, 3 different glasses, boxxing gloves, stocking cap, baseball hats, but we can’t get any more items that look like they actually belong in the game? come on now.
