Soooooooo looks like you guys want a guild after all?
Because I made one… and invited people but not enough people joined!
Soooo I will re-invite everyone in the thread.
Here’s hoping guesting comes soon so we can have an asura partie
it was lively but Anet seems to take every chance it gets to drive away the fans.
My guild had 50+ active members and now it has one : me.
JQ used to have queues everyday on primetimes now the top tier server gets none.
JQ gets a ton of refuges claiming they are tired of empty servers.
Starters areas are incredibly empty even on JQ.
That’s what I got it’s not empirical evidence, but it’s enough for me to know that yes Anet did screw things up and game seems to be dying.
That’s like me!
My guild had 40 active members, but now then I became the only one (so I closed it down).
so.. like any other dungeon then – gotcha
No.
Fractals are the only ones with pre-imposed “Fractal Levels”. These levels cap the entire group to the person with the lowest level, meaning someone on fractal level 8 would be brought down if one member was say on fractal level 4.
This will create a splinter amongst the players. Players that do not have at least X fractal levels will be rejected from most parties.
We’d be playing all the time together one day. The next day, without a word, they never come back.
Which is of course the true Death Knell.
Hopefully your guildies have just gone and tried out Old Republic´s F2P launch, but I´m not very optimistic.
2 months and paying 50 bucks is hardly enough to instill loyalty towards a developer that already is lying to you.
That was actually a month/a month and a halkittenhat it happened.
I was kinda hoping some of them would come back for the halloween event but none of them did.
Needless to say I’m the only one that kept slugging it in this game out of the original bunch.
Yeah, looks like everybody either likes to whine or shamble obediently after that carrot.
Quite frankly, the majority of people don’t care enough to come on the forums and voice their opinion.
They will simply quit or leave the game without saying anything… as most of the friends I made in-game have done. My guild of 40 now has me as the only active member.
We’d be playing all the time together one day. The next day, without a word, they never come back.
There was a referendum. Just we aren’t the electorate!
Two things have depopulated Orr:
– The weekend event. This is temporary.
– FOTM. This is permanent. To tell the effects apart, we need a comparison. How deserted was Orr during Halloween ?
Orr still had hundreds farming Plinx.
Orr now has no one.
I agree.
I have been choo-ing along with this game non-stop since beta… but I am fast feeling the anguish others are feeling.
Someone at arenanet still hasn’t realised: No it is not fun to stand there auto-attacking a mob for 20 minutes, all whilst getting no reward (gear treadmill is also a turn-off).
Gameplay is getting boring. WvW has received zero attention. Bugs that should’ve been fixed months ago are being ignored. s/tPvP has had no major developments since launch.
We need a new experience. Not the same old crap with different skins. We need new mechanics.
e.g. Dueling, Capture the Flag… the Halloween mini-games were actually pretty fun.
WvW needs new stuff too. New maps, new capping mechanics, new goals to direct gameplay. The ladder also needs to be rebalanced and free transfers closed to prevent 1 mega server arising amongst 0 competition (and this is why WvW is dead for almost every bracket now).
Time to move on to a new game perhaps.
How is it an obscure item? It’s a rare with desirable stats and a popular rune. It has an ask price of 25s and you are complaining that you’re being outbid at 10s. It’s currently at 16s. Nice try though, but I see no evidence of bot manipulation here.
Bot owner reporting in I take it?
You realize that you can hit the Weapon Swap/Drop Bundle weapon to stow it, right? It’s literally 0.75" away from my medkit key. Yeah, it behaves weirdly, but I can’t think of a less important engineer bug to fix.
Before you take your time to write a pointless post, you should read all of what you are responding to.
Because I state exactly how you can stow it.
Which means the only way to stow it is to again use the swap weapon key.
And you fail to see the point of this thread. It’s the fact they said they fixed it but they actually didn’t. It’s pointing out that no one at ANet checks or tests the fixes they implement to see if they actually even work (which they do not), despite saying “these things take a long time to test” as an excuse for not fixing anything.

you may be scaled up but that isnt worth as much as you think it is.
you dont have grandmaster traits, as such you are missing a lot of defense options. you dont have gear with 3 sets of stats either, further putting your survivability at risk.
rezzing low level players multiple times a run is akin to 4 manning the dungeon.
ill take 1 low level player with me if the rest of the group is near max level. 2 or more…no thanks.
sure you can complete AC with a group of 5 lev 35’s. but you will die many times in the process. that prospect is only worth the time investment to the low level player.
Then you are a terrible player.
Last night I joined a group and I was lvl 43 (condition thief) another thief was lvl 37 I think, a necro lvl 74 and an 80 guardian. The other slot the guy DC’ed and did not return so we said “lets see how far we can go” the four of us then completed all three dungeons of phase 1 with absolute ease, Some of died a few times till we learnt the fights but we all agreed it had been a fantastic night (about 1 and a half hours) we would have continued but it was late and two of the four had to go to bed (me included)
Please go to a different MMO so you can be elitest there.
Fractals difficulty 1 is meant to be piss easy.
Actually I did notice.
I made a thread about it yesterday: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/MASSIVE-nerf-nothing-actually-fixed/first#post760120https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/MASSIVE-nerf-nothing-actually-fixed/first#post760120
Med kit in PvE… which they apparently fixed, still doesn’t change to “Stow Med Kit” when the kit is active…
All pushing the button does it take the kit out again………..
Which means the only way to stow it is to again use the swap weapon key.
So one of the big nerfs I think people missed is that it is now no longer possible to get permanent fury from Potent Elixirs + Fast-Acting Elixirs combined with using Elixir B.
The max duration you can just about get is 36 seconds with the Superior Runes of Fury… and due to cooldowns + the fact fury is 1/3 chance when thrown, you could be without fury for significant durations.
It also means it’s no longer possible to get perma-swiftness again from Elixir B + the combination of the above traits (you can still get perma-swiftness from speedy kits trait).
This nerf is actually kinda massive and without that fury boon up, the damage output of builds made around keeping that fury up will be severely reduced.
Additionally… certain things they apparently fixed are still not working (e.g. deployable turrets, elixir S cooldown).
If you are in RUIN you will know that the lack of a strong RUIN presence has nothing to do with “running from a challenge”.
Ruin is tired, its officers need a rest. The WvW game is not as fun as it used to be, and saving Desolation from defeat is not Ruin’s job.
It just shows you that Deso lacks the large, strong organised guilds it needs to pull its own weight. Ruin is not Desolation; the pugs need to step up.

Another note on Scope trait.
With no gear on your base crit chance is 4%. This is exceptionally low and you will crit once every 20 – 30 times, which is what I find when shooting golems in heart of the mists.
Using the trait “Scope” however, which should give 10% more crit chance meaning you will crit once every 9 – 10 shots… I still find I never crit until my 20th or 30th shot.
Hence I unequivocally conclude that the trait does not work.
Rifled Barrels traits does not improve the range of Overcharged Shot.
With Rifled Barrels, Overcharged Shot should have 500 range; the same as Blunderbuss.
But at 500 range, Blunderbuss can hit but Overcharged does not.
“Scope” trait does not appear to be working. My base crit in heart of the mists is 65%. With fury it brings it to 85% indicated.
A Sigil of Superior Accuracy should bring that to 90%. The trait Scoped should bring it to 100%.
This means every shot should crit. But every shot does not crit (this seems to be 1 in 10 shots).
So the trait doesn’t seem to work.
However, the trait “target the weak” which kicks in when the target is below 50% hp does make every shot crit.
To test this I used a rampager’s amulet, and runes of the thief. Use a steady weapon and go to the golems. It’ll become clear that it’s not working as intended!
The solution I propose is give the character a buff “Scope” that pops when standing still, and disappears when moving. Something that visibly increases the crit chance shown in the hero menu so we can be sure it’s working. Similar to the buff that pops up for blindness immunity from the goggles skill.
I’m sorry but my on my level 80 thief, all the traits work as expected.
Are you attempting to suggest thieves are bug free? that is the only reason I can think of for posting that line you just posted. From readinf the bug forums and thief forums, I find it more likely that your simply avoiding the bugged skills and trait, or simply do not know what the bugs are.
Perhaps you are not using any of the broken traits. Engineer has many broken traits, and I deliberately use none of them.
Your experiences is not indicative of all players or traits. I assure you thief has bugged traits and skills. I just checked the sub-forum titled “bugs” and the thief forums.
Thieves aren’t bug free, but they are significantly less buggy than Engineers, and there is significantly more communication to thieves than engineers from ArenaNet.
I have checked the bugs thread on the thief forums, and some of the traits mentioned (e.g. Fleet shadow) do actually work.
(edited by spacemayu.4817)
What I don’t like is that kits are actually equipped, and thus reduce your stats.
Yes. I think they should get better depending on the rarity of the weapon you are actually wearing. Both looks wise and stats wise.
Fleet Shadow trait from the Acrobatics line doesn’t work.
It does work.
As soon as I enter stealth I am mega fast.
Its a very well known bug. There is a bug section for these types of discussion. There is a stickied thread on this, here in the engineer forums as well.
I’m sorry but I made a search on these forums, and the global forums, for “Deployable Turrets”, “Deployable Turrets Bug”, “Deployable Turrets Trait”, and found NO results.
Edit: Did another search and found some results. Search must’ve been broken before.
Makes me wonder if all the classes suffer from broken traits that just dont work.
Absolutely, they all do.
I’m sorry but my on my level 80 thief, all the traits work as expected.
Why isn’t there a thread on this.
The trait doesn’t work at all, no circle for ground targetting appears and the turret doesn’t spawn where my mouse is.
I love the Engineer animations, reading the discussion here makes my head really hurt!
It should be made absolutely clear that the name distinctions are entirely arbitrary. And because of the fact that items in the game are named “shotgun”; and the fact that there originally wasn’t even going to be a rifle (the original rifle WAS a shotgun until they decided to give the warrior a gun too). We can conclude that yes, the engineer’s “rifle” is a shotgun all but in name.
Just remember that this is a fantasy MMO and not your next call of duty game.
They are good and we want more of them!
BUT I don’t want my server to be treated like their Afghanistan. Once you come, we’d like you to stay even after the initial victory.
Right when I needed a mystic forge stone too :|
It’s not a clipping issue, it’s a culling issue.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clipping_%28computer_graphics%29
Just doing my part and helping fix world stupidity… It’s an epidemic!
Clipping is not rendering objects outside the camera’s field of view.
This is a culling issue because the game isn’t rendering things within the field of view.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidden_surface_determination#Culling_and_VSD
Yeah it’s being done.
But need people to actively recruit to it!
Otherwise the guild is just a shell!
Edit: Don’t think it’s gonna kick off.
(edited by spacemayu.4817)
This is a good thing.
It means anyone that plays the other races will feel unique.
Certainly wouldn’t be as fun playing an asura if everyone was one.
Can now confirm it also happens with shields.
Yes indeed. It is very strange.
I have also met someone that has the bag glitch out this way when he wears any piece of armour!
I think its just a case of unfortunate naming… how would you call a wallet if the word did not exist? since gold is the top currency a wallet becomes a “bag of gold”.
If instead of “bag of gold”, they named it “bag of money” it would not cause the disappointment.
I too was teased by the “bag of gold” xD at least its a funny story to tell, lol.
Or it could be called “bag of copper”.
Visual Glitch With Backpack On Asura
Wearing the Protean Helm as an Asura causes the backpack to disorient itself.
It’s the tier 1 cultural medium helm.
The backpacks I have tested are the universal multitool pack and all the backpacks that spawn with the engineer kits (they all glitch in the same way). Hiding the helm with it still equipped will return the backpack to normal orientation.
This is a deal breaker for me. I want to wear the protean helm but I it looks weird when I use any engineer kits. Please fix this!
Hi,
When wearing the asuran cultural t1 helm (protean helm) the backpack is rotated weirdly.
See attached screenshot for details.
Not sure this fixes the problem…. but 1 day transfers for servers you’re not WvW’ing against and 7 day transfers for the ones you are WvW’ing against?
No.
People jump from several tier brackets based on ranking data and predicted matchups from various 3rd party sites. All wanting to join the next server that will dominate the opposition.
@HuntsForge
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. A guild for asura events. Obviously not every player will be representing, but periodically we’d host parties and what not for the whole guild… all on their asura chars!
What’s the status on this, because contacts list functionality is pretty important in an MMO.
Opening the contacts list if you have more than 20 – 30 friends on it will drop your FPS to a standstill.
This issue is experienced by almost everyone that has a large number of contacts or is in a large guild. This issue has been here since beta.
I’m on Desolation.
I made a guild called Peacemaker Network [Pnet]. I’m the only one in it right now :P
Message me spacemayu.4817
Does it matter?
Guesting soon!
Let’s make one!
What I hope to happen:
Your idea of “solving” things gets implemented. One of the GMs make a mistake with their reliable Mk1 eye and mistake you for a bot, resulting in your permaban. And when you go to back to cry about the GM being wrong, the only reply you would get is: “But we say you did that!”
Seriously please think before you post…
Mistakes are made all the time. Mistakes are being made even right now.
Yes. It’s true and you see threads pop up all the time. Some players getting mistakenly banned for gold farming simply because they were the target of many gold-farmer mails.
No idea about progeny though… female Asura have a distinct lack of breasts, and I believe the only nipples encountered so far are on male Asura, so there might be a kind of seahorse deal going on here…
I have two theories:
1. AN removed the nipples from female Asura to avoid a political correctness backlash (lol).
2. The removal was intentional and indicates that male Asura breastfeed rather than females.Personally, I like #2 better. It’s just a more humorous image.
Maybe they are like cats and other mammals.
That is their mammary glands are more than 2… and they are on the belly not the upper chest!
Just because I want to be a Debbie downer, Asura are the last race that need new skins. From a lore perspective, Asura culture is all about magic. Even the Asuran golems that people THINK are technological are actually magic based. Engineers shun the use of magic. Therefore, the few Asura engineers that did exist would, in all likelihood, be using borrowed tech instead of homegrown equipment.
Hold on.
There is a mob in the game called “Inquest Engineer” that drops Asuran Turrets.
That’s more evidence than any to suggest that yes, perhaps Asuran Engineers should have a little more flavour.
Actually…
Charr were the race that created the engineer class and its tech.
So no it aint human tech. It’s Charr tech.
You’re gonna die fast if you go all berserker.
In my experience, engineers don’t have strong healing which makes pure berserker’s very flimsy (flimsier than a thief… the thief can negate a lot of damage and heal up very fast but the engie can’t). So I would suggest mixing in toughness, power, precision, crit damage.
So yeah. What I’ve heard a lot is that you shouldn’t go glass cannon unless you have a cannon. Rifle engie full-glass doesn’t do that much damage, doesn’t have much burst. So people say it’s kinda bad to spec glass without that need cannon.
Precision is important though as the conditions you can apply on crit are very strong. But I don’t think going full crit with crit damage is the correct choice.
(edited by spacemayu.4817)
Yup!
But the only time when you might want your previous action to see completion… is when it’s almost about to complete anyway.
This would be when hip-shot is over 25 – 50% complete… SOOO before that time, which is when I’m pushing blunderbuss, blunderbuss should override it.
It’s a tricky problem with the queueing system probably queueing 1 more than it should. Needs to be looked at.
