It really depends on the buff uptimes, chrono invuls, other people’s dps etc.
Some rough numbers (for pugs) although that i would consider okay (boss dps on every boss according to ArcDPS and not cleave):
VG: 10k+
Gorseval: 12k+
Sabetha: 14k+
Sloth: 11k+
Matthias: 10k+
KC: 11k+
Xera: 10k+ (w/o porting, tho i dont rly watch xera logs, so might be different)
Cairn: 15k+ (if not getting agony)
Mursaat: 20k+
Samarog: 8k+
Deimos: 9k+ (with everyone staying mid, tank at side), 11k+ if you can stay melee
Again this is for pugs and even with them you can do more dps than these numbers.
And yes you should bother checking your dps (and might uptime), you are there to drop banners, give might (mostly passively) and dps as much as you can, you dont really have any other things to do.

For small group i use: Power Scrapper
Can support others a bit with reflects, some dmg reduction from gyro and protection from rune proc, cleanse condis and some healing with Elixir Gun and Healing Turret, AoE stealth with Throw Elixir S and Stealth Gyro and ofc rez/stomp power with Function Gyro with stability.
If you are against heavy condi you can take Elixir C or Purge Gyro (my preference, because it has poison field for downed cleave too) instead of Elixir S, and if your group wants to burst kill someone (possibly a necro) take Elixir X for the moa.
For solo roaming i dont use this build because everyone can run away from it and doesnt have enough range pressure (wouldnt be a problem if you would have high melee burst or enough gap closers).
So for solo i use this: Cele Scrapper
(Note: i just started trying out Rocket Boots, on paper it looks good with the added mobility and burn but other skills also fit perfectly with this build, gonna list them later)
Its squishier than the power one because no Inventions traitline and Durability runes, but has way more pressure with Elixir Gun AA, burn proc from Incendiary Powder and Rocket Kick.
I use cele stats because engi can still benefit from it (good heals and perma regen, can stack might easily and has burns and bleeds with traits and skills that arent terrible).
For this build there are multiple changes you can do. Can change Rocket Boots to Purge Gyro (for more condi cleanse), other elixirs (Elixir B for more boons and stab, Elixir C for condi cleanse, Elixir S to run away or to invul a burst or safestomp, Tool Kit for 1 more block and pull and Pry Bar also synergises well with cele).
For traits you can change No Scope to Pinpoint Distribution (if you use Elixir B ), Final Salvo to Adaptive Armor (if you think you dont need the stab for the gyros for might or safestomp, again if you use Elixir B you have stab from it).
Just watch out that you dont have your heal recharged after passive Elixir S.

Yeah i was wondering how, for example, Demolisher (power, prec, toughness, ferocity), Destroyer (power, prec, ferocity, condi dmg) or Mender (power, healing power, prec, vitality) would change things.
Not sure if they arent in PvE and WvW because they would be too good or just simply left behind.
People in WvW would probably mix Marauder and Demolisher for power builds that would have kind of high HP with high armor and really good damage. At the moment they have to give up a bit of ferocity, power or precision if they wanted more toughness or vitality.

One of the worst changes were making poison (and burn too to an extent) stackable in intensity and making confusion do passive DoT.
They should revert the intensity stacking from poison at least (it already reduces healing, it shouldnt do high damage with some stacking) and make confusion only do damage when a skill was used (increase its damage a bit to compensate).

My suggestion to PI from weeks ago:
You change the base dmg to like non-existent (like 10 dmg) and make it scale with power (1.0). This means if you have 2.5k power you do 2.5k damage.
Now comes the twist: it would ignore all damage changing effects (like armor/protection/rite of great dwarf/traits and skills with dmg increase and decrease/runes/vulnerability etc.), only buffs that directly increase power would affect it – so might, sigil of bloodlust, passive signet power (food that increases power – if talking about wvw).
So with 2.5k power you do flat 2.5k dmg, with 1k power you do flat 1k dmg. This means you do more dmg against bunkers and less to squishy targets (but still good dmg), and condi wouldnt be affected by it too much (only 1k power).
Although i also support the ideas making it evadeable, not interrupt on AA and add ICD of 3s. (not all of them together ofc but individually tho the ICD could go with other nerfs – havent really seen pro thieves use it 2 times in less than 3s anyways)
But leave headshot alone, its not the main problem.

There are 2 kinds of hybrid builds (considering the class have good hybrid options like engineer, ele, warrior and kinda P/D thief too):
1. All out damage (YOLO) that only goes for offensive stats (you need condi dmg, power, prec, ferocity so no place for defensive stats): this can be fun for P/D probably (never tried) but high risk. You need some more HP to not die instantly.
2. Celestial hybrid: only works with classes that can stack might so they still do good hybrid dmg while having good defense.
In the past P/D celestial worked (played it for some time) because you could stack might with dodges from acro and going into stealth gave you 2 stacks from SA (i also used Sigil of Strength that gave might on crit). Both traits got removed so you cannot stack might for a celestial build.
My suggestion is also to go for a more condition oriented build with P/D. I haven’t played P/D since then so i cannot give you more advice on a build.

What i would like for Shortbow are:
1. Faster projectile for AA so you cannot sidestep it or go out of range while running away from it.
2. Longer poison duration on #4 (because they still havent buffed that after poison started stacking in intensity so its kinda bad against downed)
SB #2 does good enough AoE damage already and its speed is probably there so you can blast it to the smaller pieces in time.

Or maybe change its duration from 15s to 5-10s with same HPS (it has like 447 HPS with 3 stacks). Although this would encourage using Berserker traitline even more (because you can spam tier 3 burst skills) so i wouldn’t recommend it with how the Berserker burst skills work now.
Maybe if they would change the Berserker burst skills to have the same 3 tiers then the duration decrease could be an option (considering Core vs. Berserker’s ability to get AH stacks).
But with that in mind other healing skills could get some buffing.
1. “To the Limit” could have a bit less healing (8500) with reduced cooldown of 25s (20s if traited). This would mean 340 (425 traited) HPS. Also helping shout based builds.
2. Defiant Stance’s initial heal could be a bit more around 2.5k but it wouldnt really make a difference, its a really situational heal.
3. Mending could be a Physical skill making the physical trait (and strength traitline) a bit more valuable (that trait should be reworked imo giving different physical skills different buffs like Mending would remove 1 more condi, Kick would have bigger range on hit or knockback etc. but this is another topic) and having higher HPS traited than the signet.
Cannot comment on Blood Reckoning maybe its really good in PvE but i don’t know.

Now that ANet kinda started doing some changes and kinda active on forum i would like to suggest some changes to S/D for discussion.
The role i suggest would be the anti-sustain role. This means it would counter some sustain builds by poison and stealing protection.
You would have more damage and defense by them having no protection while you do as well as reducing their healing with poison. The stolen protection means you could also be in teamfights more.
So the changes would be:
1. Make Larcenous Strike prioritize Protection stealing (and cost 1 less initiative like it did before while still stealing 2 boons – but this would be a secondary – not that important buff)
2. Replace the Cripple on Dancing Daggers with Poison (1-2 stacks for 3s would be ok for 3 initiative i think). This would also help in teamfights because of the bouncing -> poisoning multiple people.
(3. AoE blind on CnD as everyone said before – tho this change isnt connected to the topic)
These changes would also buff D/D cancer thief too tho, not sure how much (they wouldnt use DB that much because initiative if they would want to poison) and P/D would have more diverse conditions too.
This would be another role compared to D/P where you want to +1 and kill squishier targets while with S/D you would want to target more sustained builds and weakening them in teamfights or beating them in 1v1.

Imo if you want to change blocks and invuls the only thing i could think of is adding a “maximum damage” limit to those (PvP only).
For example a 3s block could block maximum like 10-15k dmg, a 2s one max. 6666-10k, but it would also take (and block) the already applied condis into account.
Could be same for invul but it would also negate unblockable attacks (like now) and would have a higher damage cap.
As for the 25% passive procs, i would love if they removed them.
The 10% dmg reduction would be only good if they would also nerf sustain.
For thief changes, they need the swiftness (maybe a duration reduction) but an ICD for the movement condi remove is reasonable.
Headshot isnt really the problem, its the trait Impacting Disruption.
Also i would like if improving dodges (and the gameplay around it) would be tied to Acrobatics more and less to DD. (i miss the old Feline Grace – tho it was half passive and would be OP with DD now – literally perma dodging)

I wouldn’t mind a bit higher dmg if you are using dmg oriented builds so it could scale.
(kinda offtopic) Although i still think that gyros shouldn’t detonate and daze when they are killed, only when they are manually destroyed by the scrapper. (ANet pls)

Don’t forget about Precision Strike that it’s kinda uninterruptable. Even if you interrupt the swing animation the 3 projectiles still go out and damage you (no on interrupt traits trigger).

Also Enhanced Bulwark imo should give you the same duration for that extra stability that procced it (if the 3s retribution trait triggered it then it should be also 3s, if a guard gives you 8s stab with Stand Your Ground the extra stab should be 8s too)

What Cecilia said. Some traits would be too good with the gyros (reflect) but the explosion traits, knockback and tool kit heal i think can be reasonable.
BUT before you add these, make it that if the enemy destroys the gyros they dont do damage nor daze (knockback with trait if it would change) nor proccing explosion traits (if it would change), only if the engineer himself manually destroys them (the lightning field from the trait should be procced in both situations still).
Even if none of the OP’s change would go through (so traits stay as it is) this should be changed.

Really good stuff, i enjoyed it.
For the editing part: its really good, i like these kind of edits but there are some fine tuning i think you could do.
Almost everybody puts the chat cover as a different layer(?) (or entity idk) in their vids. What i mean by that is if your footage goes black (transition) the chat cover doesnt disappear with it and comes back with the footage. Same goes for other transitions (like blurs, zooms etc.) and video effects. Imo the chat cover should move, disappear and get those effects too like its part of the footage.
Also a small thing (doesnt really affect things) is when you use the same effect in quick succession. If the music has the same tune(?) every like 5-10s i would only use an effect for the first one (If it comes back later you can use it again tho) so the effect won’t be boring for the second time. (although it depends on the effects and tunes some can be better with it)
Maybe these are just my preferences. Anyways good job on the vid again!

Of course the rez power is a real problem with scrappers (imo it should rez maybe half as fast so its not useless but not that OP either) but what i hate the most about them is the gyro destruct.
Why should it daze and do like 3k dmg in AoE (to marauders) when it is killed? It should only have this ability when the scrapper manually destroys it and not when it is killed by other people.

This is actually a really good suggestion!
So you could change your build only in the spawning area just like in HotM. After you leave it then everything locks. (of course build templates would be really good for this)
It wouldn’t change too much in competitive matches because everyone runs the same build there so they know everything about the enemy, but in ranked there are people who actually tries to use other stuff (power warrior instead of condi for example) so you could adapt to that after you died.
Now we just need at least 1 viable (i would say meta) condi, power and support/tank build for each class so you could play with this feature and would be hard to predict what the enemy team uses.

Its not bad for an utility weapon, but i would like if the AA would be as fast and accurate like the ranger longbow (or at least the shortbow). At the moment people can easily sidestep it and sometimes when people run away from you but still in range, the time the projectile would hit them they are already out of its range.
So yes kiting a warrior, revenant (while not in shiro but somtimes even if they are in it you can just time SB #5 when you see the tp), guardian when they change to sword or gs, etc. is easy with it.

I had no problem against mes (either condi or power) with S/P, Bound and Acro instead of DA.
Acro gives you faster steal recharge, more initiative, you have good AoE with PW (even evade) and Bound to kill clones (also sword AA cleaves 3 targets) and can use sword 2 to engage/disengage from safe (with additional 1 condi clear).
Also with PW you can proc more Pulmonary Impact and if you get pressured just use Black Powder and dodge for stealth (you have more endurance/initiative regen because Acro so using this combo to stealth isnt that much of a problem).
You have to use Withdraw to have an immob cleanse (if its on cd i just use Bandit’s Defense to block a burst or if im full health i use it so i dont have to waste my heal)

With this change, the initiative cost should also be raised to 6, or if it would stay 4, then the range decreased to 600.
I would still just “balance” this skill normally. Its main use is to close gap. My change would be to move the blind from the unblockable projectile to the dagger hit. With this you cannot blind blocking people, and if you miss the damage part you won’t blind the target.
The damage is also a bit high in my opinion (would decrease by ~10%) but maybe it would be way too much.

One of the most annoying thing is that their gyros still daze and do damage when they are destroyed by enemies (yay more passive damage and cc). They should only do that damage and daze if the Scrapper manually destroys them.

I would like if all g2 legendaries’ footfall would last longer, but nothing else really. I like that the projectiles are not that visible so actually not every people can see where you are going in stealth with an Infiltrator’s Arrow unlike with Dreamer (i know this isnt a problem in spvp, they changed it, but in wvw you can still see it i think).

Imo interrupt sigils are really good on a hammer warrior with Berserker traitline. Rupturing Smash can hit and interrupt (with the daze) many enemies because of the shockwaves. I would love if Sigil of Absorption’s boon removal would prioritize protection tho.

Your next 2 attacks will still hit and do damage, but guardians trait for Shield of Courage to give stability so you wont interrupt them. Even if they get interrupted the shield will hold on for the duration so after 2 hits they will block the rest if attacks done from front.
You can interrupt the heal skill with it without a problem if you have basi venom pre-casted (if they have stab then with steal).

No toughness gear, but the food was right from Mad. Elite can be changed to Impact Strike, heal can be changed to Withdraw (then change DD first trait to weakness or more dmg) and DA GM can be Executioner too. (And for more condi cleanse DD major trait can be changed to Escapist’s Absolution)

I’m just gonna add and edit some things. Let’s see:
Thief:
1. Auto attack damage should be reduced by 10-20% on dagger and staff (PvP only if we would have separate balance) but maybe some other skills with initiative could do some more (like 5% increases on some skills)
2. Throw Gunk should be ground targetable too
3. Flanking Strike needs bigger range and/or Larcenous Strike steals 2 boons or hits max. 3 targets stealing 1 boon from every enemy hit
4. Dancing Dagger higher projectile velocity and cripple duration (or maybe unblockable but it would be too good probably)
5. CnD AoE blinds (240 or 300 range) on hit
6. Shadow Shot: put the blind on the actual dagger hit instead of the unblockable projectile (so you cannot blind blocking people)
Rev (i know these are nerfs, other legends should be buffed accordingly):
1. Riposting Shadows gives 5s vigor instead of 50 endurance but costs 25 energy
2. Phase Traversal teleport range should be max. 900 or stay with 1200 range but becomes an unblockable projectile and if the enemy dodges it, it won’t teleport (but remove CD then)
3. Eye for an Eye: same as MadVisions but 60s icd and reduce protection to 3s
4. Staff weapon should be an utility/support weapon in my opinion (like guardian/ranger) so its support should be buffed (with boons or heal) but its damage should be nerfed
5. Unwavering Avoidance: stability duration should be 2s
6. Enhanced Bulwark: stability duration should be 2s with 5s icd
7. Gaze of Darkness: reduce revealed to 3s and could only put reveal on already stealthed targets (or just remove reveal and maybe add something else)
8. Equilibrium: the heal should be higher (1k base with a bit better scaling) and damage part cannot critically hit
Engineer:
1. Reduce the hammer utility: Thunderclap not ground targetable anymore but its around you – its a melee weapon afterall and Rocket Charge’s only leap finisher would be the 3rd hit (you should finish the skill to get a finisher – like other leap finishers)
2. Rapid Regeneration: change the base healing of this skill with better scaling (50 for swiftness with 0.13 healing power scaling and 300 for super speed with 0.45 scaling)
3. Adaptive Armor: reduce duration to 8s and make the condition damage reduction stackable too (4% reduction per stack)
Ranger:
- Lunar Impact: either remove the heal or daze from it
Mesmer:
1. Chaos Storm: remove poison from its random conditions (already 3 boons and 2 conditions and daze on it – it will also increase the chance on daze)
2. Winds of Chaos: only applies bleeding (reduce duration to 3-4s because of bounce and clones) – this means no random burning and vulnerability – easier to focus cleanse on confusion and torment
3. Would love to see power shatter again (so buffs for it but i dont know what atm)
Buff core traitlines (the ones that aren’t used – to not buff meta and strong specs even more)
Normalize reveal for PvE/WvW and SPvP to 3s.
Not complete, just some changes out of my head.

I am surprised how many people try to defend revenant. Of course its not the only profession that needs nerfs but its among the top priority ones.
Its just too good in many ways and people that don’t see it just…

As Cynz said – revenants and scrappers are the ones to blame (revs more ofc). If they would “balance” those classes (rev shiro abilities mostly so they dont have that many dodges and 1200 range tp to target (would change range on it)) thief would have a place.
I will still play thief throughout this season (playing with and against highly skilled people) because i enjoy it.
So yes, thief is fine, some other professions aren’t.

Even though you can play around it, Impacting Disruption should have 5s internal cooldown (so people wouldnt spam it or get rewarded for a random interrupt so often).
