Last time i did that support member asked me to write bots’ names and/or account names(if possible) from video in report even if video is in high quality.

For example: because someone is using that account to gather resources in afk/bot mode (while his father is at work/not home) and gets reported? and then sends all gathered to own account and triggers RMT detection system.

There are many internet shops that sell serial keys from boxed version of the game: you’ll receive scan/photo of scratch-card with serial key number upon purchase. I myself bought game this way because of several reasons:
1. there are no official retail partners for my country.
2. it was during period when ArenaNet suspended first-party sales.

Try to use any moving (charge, leap, blink) skill or /dance /sit /sleep emotions, usually you can get out of this immobilize state without reloging or teleporting to WP this way.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year. I bought the Guild Wars 2 a couple of days ago but my computer’s driver can’t read DVDs right now (It happens with all the DVDs). I don’t know yet when I will be able to fix the driver but until then is there any way I can download the game (not buy it again) using the serial key I already have from the DVDs?
So is anet on a plan to allow people to ban in order to grief someone? Had a person get upset over supplies in WvW last night and after calling me a string of names threatens to get me banned by reporting ME. Now I have played MMO’s since everquest and never been banned or even suspended. usually they require some PROOF or you to be reported by more then ONE player in order to do something like this.
Not only am i suspended for 56 hours but my only way to get resolution is to file a 48 hour trouble ticket?

You should’ve reported him once he called you a “string of names” and threatened you and ignore that user afterwards. But it seems you replied to his provocation and got a well deserved suspension for inappropriate language.

In part response to Warlock, if they were long term GW1, and GW2 players, then they would know an exploit when they saw it. Unless of course their brain cell count is below average and simply thought that getting more from less was a cool trick.
Secondly, if ANet is not ip banning these botters/exploiters, then they are doing it wrong and should not be profiting from what is ultimately their own coding mistake as you, Warlock, have pointed out.
Finally, Warlock’s suggestion is something that should seriously be considered by the development/moderator team and whoever else needs to consider it at ANet. When an exploit is brought to the attention of ANet, a MoTD should pop up for every player that logs in to the game, every time they log in, alerting them of the exploit in detail so they know to stay away until it is fixed. Anyone who attempts the exploit after the MoTD is in place should be ip banned WITHOUT review.
An example MoTD template:
MoTD: EXPLOIT ALERT:: Here are the details of the exploit, do not attempt to reproduce this in any way as the result will be an instant ip ban without review. Some people just suck and intended on getting ahead of others through exploiting a broken system.
Of course I would laugh uncontrollably at the last part if it was put in but that was just me being me. Warlock’s idea is a good one, use it.
Do not mention ip bans ever again if you know nothing about them. They solve nothing and bring a lot more problems at the same time.

I disagree. Players were suspended without any investigation from ANet team just because some other player reported them for inappropriate name even if they have done nothing wrong and their character names were fully legit. And this is what this topic is about. So those linked threads are in direct relation to the topic on hand.

Right. If you’re not moving around, your location is recognized and approved automatically.
And that is a fail implementation for mobile authenticator.
No, it’s the way many authentication systems work. If you approve a location, then it is “white listed” and you are not pinged every single time you try to log in.
I asked the Security Team about this, and the auth system is still in Beta, but they are considering allowing the player to “opt in” for “ask me every time” in the final version. I imagine that you will choose to use the feature to set your mind as ease.
It should’ve asked every time from the beginning with “opt out” feature in final version. When people install mobile authenticator – they expect and are ready to enter code every time they log in game or site. For everyone else there e-mail authentication with “remember network” checkbox.

nobody is going to use them after wintersday. I doubt many people would want to craft pets or tonics after the event.
Its not a matter if players want to craft those things or not but rather will they be able to or not. If ANet removes wintersday-related mystic forge recipes when event ends – all those items players hoarded to sell later will become obsolete till next year’s Wintersday.

Forum doesnt block words to my knowledge, but “kittens” them instead. If i choose to quote your mesasge – i’ll see kitten in it. So word being removed from post is probably some sort of forum bug. If forum kittens that word – you can justly report any player with that word in name.

Can we please have something a bit more creative than “kill waves of baddies” for the next event?
I’m trying to play through Tixx (with only 2 other people as no one else in the world seems to want to do the events any more which is a flaw in itself) and it’s impossible. These events should scale to the amount of people in them, this is supposed to be a fun little Christmas event not a dungeon crawl.
Requiring 5 people for the events is a real issue, why can’t they scale? This isn’t a difficult thing to do. Also, why not DOWNLEVEL to level 10 for these events instead of uplevel to 80? It would be much more sensible.
I can solo most of Tixx dungeon events on my warrior. When i’m paired with my friend (mesmer) – we are invincible. So its a matter of level, gear and skill.

Why delete the characters though? It’s bad enough the hackers are in your account stealing your stuff, but also delete characters too? That’s just nasty! It’s not like deleting the characters will disguise where the gold is coming from.
For example: to free character’s names, to hide from guild bank logs any activity, to make it harder for account owner to regain access to it.

I am excited that most of these Endless Wintersday Tonics turn you into things that can jump. I am a full height Charr and have experienced some difficulty with jumping in the past. But now I can turn into a Princess Doll and have no camera issues! If only it would me change when I am in the Winsterday puzzle :\

Too bad princess transformation (“Moon Prism power MAKE UP!”) cant swim =\ but doll mini can and have proper swim animation. (bug?)

I cant play faster better and longer. and I believe many players use these 1 button to open 2 skill macros. GW2 Already 10 + profession skills game not like 30 skill other mmo games so I believe it doesnt give unfair advantage to other players.
I think you misunderstood that question. Binding several actions/skills to one button allows you to play faster (you have less buttons to press than other players) and can more accurately execute your skill chains. That gives you an advantage over players that dont use those.

All scripts that automate your gameplay are forbidden. This one turns an instrument that you should play by yourself for yourself and other players into simple tune player. There is no fun in that for the owner of bell.

So, the jump puzzle is a timed event. Except it’s hard to see where you’re jumping when there’s giant characters on the snow flakes completely occluding your body. It’s basically jumping blind until they fall. The puzzles overly hard as it is, without having to basically do the first half blind.
Put the big races on their own island.
This is a very poor excuse of those that are generally bad at jumping because you dont need to see your character to jump properly. As a matter of fact asuras are easiest race to complete anything jump-related because they suffer less from camera issues (for example just try to do Troll’s End with largest Norn or Charr).

There is a 100% method to avoid death on that slope: slide near the right wall continuously mashing jump button (default is “space”): you’ll jump midway and fall on stalagmite on the right side without any damage. Then you can proceed and jump further – even if you hit something midway – it wont be lethal.

Gaile, to gain access to one’s account hacker should know at least target’s correct e-mail and they were able to get even those who created new e-mail just for this game. And they are able to get this crucial info in a couple of minutes.
I can remind you of authorized networks appearing from nowhere, e-mail change feature that sent confirmation e-mails to new address instead of old one, two-factor authorization that never works etc. There were plenty strange implementations concerning account security to this date and i wouldnt be surprised if there are more.
So my position that there is hole in authorization process still stands. Mentioned article doesnt explain things above. Also there is “real example” of user’s password in that article when such info should be available as plain text for nobody, even devs – they (should) get hashes of passwords at best.

None of them are quicker for me. With a decent group at Toypocalypse, I can get 2-4 Personal Gifts + 5-9 Giant Gifts in under half an hour without waypoint cost. The only thing that matches the personal gift rate is the bell choir, and that doesn’t give Giants. Running around a zone has travel costs or takes a lot longer.
People don’t all play the same.
JP is 3 giant gifts every 150 sec (2.5 min), and you depend only on yourself and not on some random team members. Choir Bell is 4 personalized gifts every 10min, also only your skill matters.
I just cant see how getting 7-13 gifts in an hour is fast especially that there is probability of joining lost case games or just joining @very end and not getting any rewards at all…

I dont think changing passwords will help tbh. Just because hackers can target certain players means that there is a hole in account security (server side). Authenticator app, as stated above, doesnt work as it supposed to and e-mail authentication is of no help if you get authorized networks pop from nowhere.
And for topic itself: many players return into game for holiday events and many purchase gems which means more rich targets for hackers – that is why you can see increase in hacking incidents lately (both fresh and those that were hacked while not playing).

Ok, this patch has been a complete nightmare up to the point of the launcher demanding a fresh install saying files are corrupt.
It started yesterday after the gift patch with the game lowering my level by over 20 levels. A relog cleared that but it turned into a problem any manuals on my toons are not usable and any rare items crafted w/o being soul bound to me are un-mailable or un sellable on the AH.
I had to uninstall the game and will try a fresh install.
Please fix these holes so those of us with Holiday time off can at least play some.
Dont you think its your PC acting up (probably HDD issues)? Maybe some software incompatibilities like your AV or something else is messing with patching process making game client corrupt.

Its an automated response. You have to reply to that email and ask them to remove unwanted/all remembered networks for your account.
