I will only use mounts to show off a rare skin or to explore by means of mounts special movements skills to places other wise inaccessible to normal unmounted movement

Not to get too off topic but , resurrection is something designed into the game that all nice people help other players with . Only kittens complain when dead don’t use waypoints . All kittens are perfectly capable of helping out the rest of the nice dead people .
That of course dosnt excuse the players that die a lot from getting their act together , I mean ya can only res the same player so many times in a row before you have to think they really aught to stay dead , or at least go figure out what they are doing wrong.

What I would really like to see rather than removing core waypoints is that the normal state of a waypoint is contested and has to be actively maintained to be used by anyone . The maintianence would be a donation of materials like a fuel that becomes depleted over time .
With a multiple choice type of fuel such as crafting materials , map currencies , karma , gems , golds , aetherium , whatever . Anything but some new token to take up more invantory space .

In some instances there are attacks that are one shots regardless of what gear you use. Mostly in dungeons and fractals and raids.

As for wvw it’s also ok in limited amounts . I’m not into blob vs blob and my server beings rank 7 or 8 was awesome for small battles.

Now we’re always teamed with 1 and 2 ranked worlds and it’s sort of a pain in the kitten to get anything done with a party sized group .

You are asking why was the game different a year ago befor a huge expansion came out ……

Your post is incredibly long winded . If you are looking for “facts” about afk farmers . Go find some afk farmers .

If you just wanted to vent that you’re not as rich as you could be because other people have access to the same market as you I don’t think you’ll get much sympathy .

I know that when I’m done building my medium weight ascended armor set I won’t have much use for my hoard of materials I’ve been building since the last 4 years . Maybe you’ll think I afk farmed them too just so I could make you be a little less rich than you would be otherwise .

Or are you complaining the leather sells for more than befor ? So many words and so few seem relevant to one another

You’ve written a lot to take on all at once . I can’t touch in all your points directly but there is 2 major reasons it dissatisfaction I find among people I’ve played with .

They have fallen into the most common trap in the guild wars player base that is assuming rumors that a “meta build” is the absolute best . Including raid party members professions and their individual builds .

Free your mind from this trap and explore the real power you can gain by making the choice to learn for your self what your traits do .

How they interact with your weapon and armor stats .

How you can do massive condition damage even if your weapon skill doesn’t make the condition . how you can do massive healing with your crowd control weapon . In the same build . It can be done . I do it every day with my guardian .

The second most common trap is looking everything up on wiki or dullfy and then wondering why there is so little to do .

there is a great many puzzles in guild wars many styles of play .

You can do it with out looking it up .

… it will be so much more … fun? Emotionally rewarding? Satisfying ? I can’t think of the best word I am looking for perhaps I should look it up with online thesaurus?

i didnt get the daily every day because there is a cap and i can get it later . if cap is removed i will need a time machine to get my days back so i can do them .

edit in case its un clear , i would vote to not remove the cap if there was ever a poll on this , witch i highly doubt there ever will be .

I’de like to see smarter Ai . With player skill sets . That adapt to the fight , and have a downed state .

Even some really elite Zergs of smarter type npcs in a mob roaming maps .
The kind of thing where you have to be at your keyboard fighting back or running away or you will die in a hurry . The kind of thing that’s impossible to afk and still win .

seems 3 more worlds at least are needed just to get gold silver and bronze tiers on equal numbers , as in the 2014 rankings . where gold only had 6 servers and the rest had 9 .

i would switch to a new server if the main players in the whole of my main guild (w/c)ould go too .

The best part about any wings is folding them up to rest under a shield , And having them come flying out for the attack .
If any of my wings showed all 100% of the time I wouldn’t be able to wear any wings .

It’s un-natural for a winged creature to not “hide” their wings when at ease.

It’s not my biggest fear for the expansion but for Guild wars in general.
My biggest fear is that Caithe will prove to be correct .
That love is not enough to bring anyone back from the nightmare.

i’m not sure if there was a question in your posting OP so i have a question for you .

what if they delayed all updates for an extra week ?

ya know , so each department has a couple days to get all their changes documented . then , hand them off to a proof reader / editor , that can take a couple days to make some of the technical stuff easier to swallow . who can then hand it of the the webmaster for web page updating .

would that be better for ya ?

solo doing dailies . if nothing more pressing to do running havoc , flipping camps , slapping/escorting yaks , upgrading towers . upgrading blood lust , scouting as i go .
from time to time in a small party taking towers .
rarely , joining zergs on larger structures .

in my tier EB was usually busier , more people from all 3 sides on more of the map .
i didn’t go there as much as the borderlands . but basically i did all the same things in the same way as the borderlands . EB was / is a last resort to finishing WvW dailies . cap a camp or 2 and get out asap . there is too many people there for it to be comfortable soloing or even a small group .

the same . exactly the same .
except 2 things ; i don’t see as many other people. so there no one to report scouting too .

and there doesn’t seem to be bloodlust any more or maybe i just haven’t figured it out yet .

usually i get steam rolled in wvw . most fights are over before they start . if i run into another roamer and we have a 1 vs 1 i don’t back down . win or lose i’m in it til the finish .
if some zerg activity happens near by me i’ll jump in for what ever seems to be going on whether its offensive or defective . but i wouldn’t run across the map to join a zerg . in fact i’de sooner run across the map to get away from zerg activity unless it aligned with my personal goals .

the only 2 opposing team people i have seen so far on new maps were on open surface level near camps . 1 vs 1 . so i don’t have any way to compare the battles yet .

as far as build goes i use as close as i can to the exact same build in all modes of the game . it’s quite effective and well rounded build that i have been developing for 3 years . . i only change out my elite from time to time as the racial elites are not used in pvp . and in some situations it makes more sense to have something different on that key

takes a bit longer to solo a fully automated upgraded camp . it’s also more fun in that i have to be a bit more careful about what im doing .
one tower i managed to follow a commander on also seemed to take longer to capture even tho it was only defended by NPCs .

How is the loot and wxp for you compared to in the past? Will it be able to sustain whatever you are doing? Did it take a hit, or was it improved? If you are planning to unlock an elite specialization, do you think you were helped or hurt in these regards? Do you think you could pursue any other in-game goals just by playing WvW?

for me wvw is 25% or less of what i do in game , its fine that way for me . i don’t know that the shards of glory , memories of battle or proof of heroics or what ever they are called are for yet so its hard to know if the rewards are good bad or the same .

i did like getting the wvw exp boost in a scroll i could use at a later time . mainly because they would stack . getting the exp boost from opening the chest means i have unstackable chests in my inventory taking up a lot of space . i only use 1 or 2 of the chests for the boost to get dailies done and that nets me 2 or 3 more chests . eventually i’ll be over flowing with chests .

How will the map change impact the long sessions (multiple hours) you spend in WvW?

i don’t really do that , or very rarely . with new pve content theres little reason to go into WvW except quick dailies . after 3 years i am WvW rank 115 .
i go there when i have nothing else i’m interested in at the moment or when some particular guild members that enjoy wvw ask me to join them . . witch hasn’t happened since before halloween .
i really only spent any real time in WvW after i finished with the season 2 things until halloween started . i do have a pair of mistforged hero’s weapons from seasons gone by mainly because i kept an eye on achievements to know there was an event going on .
i could do long sessions of WvW if i could go with all my friends and guild mates even if I am on a different world than they are .

i generally like what guild wars offers . i’m not scared of changes . the new border lands seem to me like a huge PVP map including the point in the center to fight over . except no one is been there to fight over it (yet?).

in my mind it is exactly what wvw is supposed to be . a huge pvp map with out the strict limitations to build from sPvP

it would be cool to see a rotation of maps eventually when ever a 3ed borderland map is introduced . each world could have a different map and the maps rotate while the 3 worlds fighting stay the same in a best out of 7 rotations type scoring before the world tier ranks are switched.

you are most likely to find me in PVE maps doing all the new awesome PvE stuff and ranking masteries .

in wvw ? home border land . unless its 100% in that case other worlds borderlands .
EB was always a last resort to finishing dailies for me and remains so .
EotM is something i tryed when it was new but its not some thing i can go into solo or even a party and im not one that enjoys following the zergs around . i pop in there from time to time but the playstyle that historically takes place there doesn’t suit me .

there is so much drama on the forum i need to say this has nothing to do with any of anything any one else is talking about in the forum , as far as i can tell .

i’m in guilds only with people that play for fun .
we don’t care about meta , we don’t care if it take 10 years to get some title or a year and a half to un lock something .
we have our whole lives to enjoy doing it , and we want to have fun with it .
the more fun we have the more we know we are doing it right .

the forums are full of loud fingered social activists . i recommend to the new players I meet in the game to avoid the forums . if they need help it is so much better to ask in the game . all they will read here is how awful everything is .

i will continue to qualify my statements by saying no one i know is upset about any amount of collection or hero point requirements and most likely the majority of people don’t care or know that it was changed ….

i will take some of the forums hot air and fill a big balloon with it and attach this picture . i’ll let it fly into the forums maybe some will see it . i don’t know that many will understand or get it in the current general environment of these forums . . . because its not negative .

it is the message box and some guilds members reactions to some fun in the jungle .

i thought it was a pretty good summary of the over all reactions to HoT of the people i know .

i was the only one that could see it as far as i know .

there is a good possibility that they could see it too but where telling me it was only me to make me doubt my sanity , because really isn’t that more hilarious ? making your friends think they are crazy :-)

you can see my friend standing beneath with radiant vambraces doing the /laugh emote , either having a bonus laugh while picking on me in good fun , or being a really good sport about the thing only i could see !!

either way , we had a good time adventuring and picking up some loot .

i use a shield everyday . . . perhaps it is not the shield that sucks ?

this is going on still in brisban wild lands this morning (north america server , 7/1/15). there is much talk about it in map chat.

i didn’t die today but for a time i had my trident equipped while on land . unable to use any weapon skills for a minute or so til it changed back to my normal land weapons.

no water splash or anything just switched , like ~ switching between sets .

i did die there last night (6/30/15) . no downed state just dead . i sent an in game /bug report with a screen shot of my combat log showing no damage .

there was a very high map population at the time . a guild challenge or some such going on in the north west corner . minis hidden message several minutes before i died.

i noticed skill activation lag , and some slight rubber-banding of my character position. also , i was not able to interact “F key” with some (not all , just some) objects for renown heart completion .

its pretty weird and kind of spooky. i like to pretend i’m being hunted by the unseen . but , is it largos or mursaat ?? :-)

i haven’t read all of the 3 pages of posts before me but , this topic interested me when i saw it yesterday.

i put the theory of my ascended lvl 80 being less powerful than a new-b to the test .

entry level characters were following me around after a while because i switched from insta-kill mode to boon distribution mode and made everything easier for them.

Actually they said that the trait system is getting an overhaul. They’ve announced no confirmed changes for the NPE. As far as we know it’ll be the exact same.

there was something else as well . i’ll keep an eye out for it . i thought it had to do with traits . it may have been an off hand remark or or a few words acknowledging dis-satisfaction .

clearly , they are taking chances and being creative with their product . witch is i think is awesome . sometimes their crazy experiments don’t work as well as they hoped , or they get results they didn’t expect .

off the top of my head , lets take diving goggles for example . it was broken with NPE . it was fixed with out an announcement and never officially acknowledged as needing fixing . they just slipped it in with some larger stuff .

they have a 12 year plan (or longer ?). the plan is very extremely likely to change faster than they can announce any of it . they see a bigger picture they don’t want to show you because it would ruin the surprise .

my necro would only benefit from the style of play you are suggesting . we could play together some time if you like . add me in game .

one of my guild mates will often play his necro while i am on guardian . he’s never mentioned my style interfering with his nocroyness .

what probably helps is none of us use build guides . we just use our own trial and error based on what we think is the most fun for our selfs balanced with effectiveness. in fact any time i go into the profession specific forum sections i feel like i’m playing a different , and better , game than every one else .

that karma armor is not salvageable . so you won’t get any runes out of it unless you use an extractor . keep that in mind when putting new runes in the karma set .

any ways . runes or sigils can be put into any used slot . it over-wrights the old one and you get a caution message showing what the new item will be something like “warning : existing upgrade will be destroyed”

a problem like that can be tricky to figure out . i used " CPUID HWMonitor " program to view the voltages and temps and some other things going on in my PC .

after i put a gaming card in my dell that was designed to be an office computer i had some over heating issues .
it shut it self off . like a protection .
it happened a few times . nothing was burned out , or ruined .

my solution was to make some changes to the air flow into and out of the case .

the case it self is on the small side , so i had some limited options .
i installed vented pci slot covers . i replaced the stock cpu cooler with one that allows the fan to sit in a way so it pulls the air in from the front of the case and pushes the air out the back of the case .
i also went a little crazy and cut a space in the front of the case for an extra fan to force some air movement into the case .

in the photo the darker blue numbers you see are temp readings in celsius .
the brighter number is fan speed of the front installed fan in rpms . the knobs there allow me to change the fan speed manually .

i had wanted to put all 4 of the system fans on the controller but the bios dosn’t like it and booting requires me to press a button to try to get the system to ignore the “error” . it was more convenient in the end to just let the bios control them .
