Assuming you’re talking about materials in character inventories; does requesting the data manually from the API work? If you get “https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/characters/CHAR-NAME/inventory?access_token=API-KEY”, does it show the inventory contents? If it does, it’s likely that the problem is on gw2crafts.net. I’m guessing that site only inspects your material storage.

The vendor value of item 36332 is 0, which AFAIK makes the item implicitly untradeable. I believe the API is correct (and attempts to purchase it via the TP should fail, regardless of what the UI displays).

Good question. When I’ve done it myself, I did absolutely nothing. No chat, no moving and no condis were put on me. I’ll ask a programmer to look at the code and tell me on Monday.

Thanks, problem is i got stuck in one of the pillars at mid in temple. The pillars are fairly small so i kept getting hit from mid point. Anyway couldve relogged and didnt really matter so its fine, just wanted to see if it would work out.

Could you also ask if knockbacks and such also have effect? I guess you ment going over everything but just making sure. Also moving camera, as in left click held down to look around. Im testing some of these myself, will update if i find something out.

Moving camera is fine, boons are fine.

Looks like 3 things will interrupt the /stuck action. Moving, using a skill or getting into combat. Getting stuck in a wall close to point, it’s going to be difficult to avoid getting put into combat.

Hey, I can’t get my “@/#” key (mac keyboard) working with the new mac client. How come ?

Have you tried the <> key (next to left shift)? There is some internal code that can swap <> and the @# keys. We should resolve that mix up in an upcoming release.

We never wait for rounds. We had some issues with Balthazar’s Brawl in the EU yesterday that we’re still tracking down. The problems caused the tournament to stall a couple times. We were able to get it moving again, but for some reason, some matches didn’t clean up properly.

One thing I have come to realize is that the “Magic Mouse”, which comes with new Macs, has default settings which make it behave similar to a track pad. If you swipe with two fingers, for example, it will move you to another Spaces desktop. There are other gestures like that, too, such as gently double-tapping will do the Mission Control (or Expose’ as it was once referred to). These gestures cause the game to crash. Go to Settings, Mouse, and then there are two tabs: Point & Click, and More Gestures. Uncheck all of those features, except for the “Secondary Click” feature under the “Point & Click” tab. The Secondary Click option merely allows you to right-click on things.

I suffered through dozens of crashes all day long, then I turned off those features and I have yet to crash since I did that about an hour ago.

As far as I know we haven’t seen crashes from any of these behaviors. I’ll be interested to see these crashes when we get back into the office Monday.

Also, within the game, there is a setting which allows you to alter the gesture so that instead of angling the camera, you zoom in and out when swiping up or down. That default setting seems very backwards to me.

The direction is based on your mouse scroll direction settings.

the game does not recognize which scrolling mode you selected (the default new scrolling or the reverse).

Odd, it should. Have you posted your hardware information and other details? What mice are you using? I’m curious to see it.

Thank you so much everyone! Please keep doing the /bug reports in game, and when you do give us a description of what you’re seeing, sometimes it’s not obvious, especially if we’re on different settings. We have someone who goes through all of them reported from the 64-bit client daily and they’re tons of help.

As Jon asked if you can post your specs and settings when you give us screenshots it would be a tremendous help. We have various machines with different specs and on different versions of the OS so matching what you have will help us track down the bugs.

We are working diligently to fix things as quickly as we can. Look to release notes for future releases for the list of fixed bugs.

We know performance isn’t ideal and the long loading time is something we haven’t seen in-house, so I’m super interested in the specs of anyone who is experiencing that issue.

Again you all are great, keep the bugs coming in!

I got my gold back now. It arrived in delivery box. I updated my ticket. There was a delay of around 30-40 minutes between the time I cancelled my buy-order and received my gold.

Rejected:
• No Lumber Cores or Pruning Shears. We count these as trophies used for guild hall decorations which I already mentioned we opted to not include.
• No Golden Fractal Relic + Integrated Fractal Matrix. I discussed these with the Fractals team extensively throughout the process and they opted to investigate other solutions.
• No Writs and Tomes. I do not want to put in consumables of this nature.
• No Strategic Defense Map of the Mists. Used in very few things at a low cost.
• No Toys and Tonics. These are so outside of any of our qualifications for going into storage that I can’t believe I am having to explain why they aren’t going in.
• No Essence of Time. It is a trophy used in two things, one of them being a decoration.

Things to think about a bit more:
• Miyani Items. A lot of folks have rightly pointed out that all of Miyani’s items should go into storage. I haven’t made a final determination on this yet, but it’s likely that we will cut at least some of these from the list.
• Indigo Mushrooms + Mushroom Milk. I’m really on the fence about this one. I had wanted to allow them to keep dropping because they do make foods that can continue to be used, but I don’t particularly want to include them in storage because of how you start acquiring them. I’ll think about it more though.
• Badges of Tribute. We said no to these largely because of how you get them and use them. They are bought from a vendor and can be immediately consumed by crafting low-ish cost items with them. I will check in with the WvW team to see if they disagree with that sentiment.
• Mystic Runestone. If I am going to put in Icy Runestone, I should probably put in this one as well.
• Marks, Talismans, Seals, Medallions, and Crests. I have almost zero desire to put all 25 into storage, but I will rethink Crests specifically because of their inclusion in Amalgamated Gemstone crafting.
• Ascended crafting materials that make Grandmaster Marks. This is going to be a tough one. There are a lot of items here. I’ll consult with the PvP team and my fellow rewards folks.

So sorry for these glitches. The team is working on getting things in order, and as you can see from TheQuickFox’s post immediately above, some players already have noted a correction of the issue.

From what the programmers said, the accounts are ok, but they are displaying incorrectly and that should correct soon. I recommend you hold tight on submitting a ticket for a few hours, to allow time for everything to right itself (with the magical assistance of our programming team, of course. )

We believe this is associated with a glitch that’s happening today. Programmers are working to correct this issue, which I believe is associated with the display and is not actually wrong on the back end.

Can you please submit a ticket if you do not see this corrected in a few hours? (I’d allow 3-4 hours before sending a ticket — that should be more than enough time to see if things are okay.)

Then please, please, please don’t add yet other legendary crafting components for the new legendaries to the storage (ala Shard of Friendship and alike). Those are against everything I read here. They are only used for one specific thing, which I daresay most players will never do anyway, and even if they do, they do it usually only once and are then done with it.

Every time I see those empty material slots it reminds me that there are tons of other things that would be more useful in there instead. I get that they cannot be remove without a major overhaul of the whole system, and that’s not going to happen. But please: don’t add new ones with each new legendary!

We have already headed down the road of including them, we aren’t going to stop now.

Yes these are niche items, used for one thing. The reason why I still think they are valid to go into storage, is because they are part of long tail rewards where you might have a stack of them sitting around for a long time before using them. There are a few other things like this that we have chosen to include.

Similar to mystic clovers?

Not exactly because clovers are used in all legendary weapons, but sort of.

It may be faster for you to type /stuck and then not move. After 30 seconds, it should teleport you back to your spawn. If you move or do any other activity, it will cancel the /stuck command and you won’t be able to attempt it again for 2 minutes.

Once it moves you back to spawn, you can’t use the command again for 10 minutes.

Can you add Black Lion Salvage Kits to the storage? I know the tech exists, you used to be able to put PvP Salvage Kits into storage if they hadn’t been used yet.

We used to have (and I still have several) miniatures in Material Storage. Thus, if those slots can never be (truly) removed, how about one for Queen Jennah and maybe Risen Priest of Balthazar (I don’t think many use the recipe for Obsidian Shards with the value of Mystic Coins)?

How about asking whomever would be in charge of item IDs to stack (or move to storage) the L20 (at least) scrolls?

To both your questions: that’s not how this works on the back end. I can’t use old mini storage or move a couple of minis out of it. There isn’t anyone “in charge of item IDs” and there is no ability to make two different item IDs stack.

For me, both the normal mac client and the 64 bit client now get 66% lower frame rate at all times in all areas. Pretty much entirely unplayable. I don’t know what you did, but for me it isn’t working; it is working a lot worse.

Can you post your system specs, what resolution you are using in-game (and if you are scaling your display), what in-game settings you were using at the time and the map(s) you tried this in? Thanks!

It turns out I spoke too soon. My mac is brand new and amazing, yet the game crashes constantly. Its not as bad as it was on my macbook because now only the client crashes, and not the whole computer, but the game us UNPLAYABLE right now because it simply crashes like crazy. I login, and it crashes within seconds now.

Is this with the 64-bit test client?

AT Scheduling Proposal

The tournament calendar is actually independent of reset days and it’s actually 1 hour earlier, not later. Also, we’ve set the schedule so that tournaments are now 7-8 hours apart.

For example: Grenth’s Game opens today at 11:15PM PST. Tomorrow, it will start at 10:15PM PST. Saturday it will start at 9:15PM PST and so forth.

This should give people with all schedules chances to participate. There may be some days where no tournaments work for you, but it won’t be too long until a tournament moves back into your timeframe.

We have encountered an inconsistent issue with Automated Tournament QP. QP may be cleared upon transferring between NA and EU. Normally, this should only happen if you transfer and then participate in a tournament.

For now, if you care about your QP, please refrain from transferring between regions.

My concern with all of this is as you have said in the past, the space available is limited and you can’t really remove any once they have been added. So while you may be able to fit all these new mats in for now, when the expansion pack hits and inevitably many new crafting mats are added, will they all be able to fit? How about 2-3 expansions down the line? Has there been consideration for the long term implications of this system?

Part of this project for me was determining a total budget and breaking it down into chunks for future use in addition to this phase of additions. So, I budgeted about 100 items to add now with separate budgets for all future projects. Now, I am clearly over budget here but it isn’t looking like the expansion will use their full budget and it is unlikely that Season 4 will use its entire budget as well, so I am borrowing a bit. Regardless, I believe that we have enough space to be able to add these kinds of materials to material storage as we release them moving forward.

I’d also like to suggest Aetherkey pieces.
I know many will say that they belong on a keyring, but:

  1. They are not keys, just pieces, and
  2. People have been wanting a keyring for a while now, it still hasn’t happened, and removing them from mat storage in case a keyring is added doesn’t sound too hard.

Key ring or equivalent is coming soon. Pieces are like sand, just use them and make the keys. Opening Aether chests isn’t worth it nowadays anyway

I have indicated that I would prefer to address keys through a key ring, however, I have NOT found anyone to do that work and it can’t be me personally. Considering that, a key ring is currently in indefinite limbo until I can find someone willing to take it on as a side project.

As far as Marks to Crests, those really need a spot as there are a ton of those.

There are 5 of each type. That’s 25 total.

You probably don’t realize it but you just made an excellent case for them to NOT go into storage. That said, I will consider the level 80 Crests since they go into Amalgamated Gemstones, but I have almost zero desire to put all 25 into storage.

13. Experience crushing demoralization and wallow in sadness for days while numerous people try to help recover work. This is why you should never save your docs locally and nowhere else.

Data loss sucks, and I don’t know your infosec/IA plan, but do you guys not do nightly offsite backups or was there a backup failure? O_O I mean, I can see full revolt in the art department if a server failed and several days of paintings were lost in the mist. They’d come for your CIO armed with styluses and cintiqs, thirsty for blood, demanding revisions to your BC/DRP.

The problem was that I did not check it into our file share or save it on the network. It was ONLY on my local machine. LIFE LESSON LEARNED.

Very VERY hard. Like, never going to happen, hard.

Is there any possibility of a few, perhaps a dozen, uncategorized storage slots? That would take a stack (or expanded stack) of whatever was put into them first. When the stack of items was removed, it would be available for a stack of other stuff. This would be useful for holding those items that we collect incessantly with no clear goal in mind (Blade Shards). It would also allow each player to customize their bank to best serve their needs.

Nope! That’s what regular bank tabs are for.

I’ve got a bunch of replies saved up, so I am going to blast through a bunch of them now and circle back when I have time for a few topics I still want to touch on.

• No Instant Repair Canisters, Bank Access Express, Trading Post Express, Merchant Express, Revive Orb. Please just use these.

How about you add a check and if the account has , say a permanent Bank Access or other permanent, it quits dropping them and drops something useful or make them so you can sell them for something instead of just flushing them to make room.

Interesting. I don’t know if this is a desirable change on our end, but I will talk to some folks about something like this. We recently got some tech that MIGHT make it TECHNICALLY possible, so I can at least make a promise that I will poke the Commerce team about the idea. No promises beyond that.

Consider removing Unidentified Fossilized Insect and have someone make it so its vendor equivalent (3x Sandy Bag of Gear) drops instead once the Ambrite weapons collection is completed. Would probably make Dry Top-dedicated guilds even happier.

A replace on the drop table might be possible because of that previously mentioned tech, but I don’t know if it is in scope for me to make such a change.

15. Put on big girl pants and redo steps 7-11

I question the need for pants for this step. Pants are never necessary.

I normally agree thoroughly, however, in a professional environment not wearing any kind of bottom coverings is frowned upon.

I’m not going to make a promise right now that I will include them as I have not done my investigation, but I will promise to thoughtfully consider them and discuss it with the PvP team.

Lindsey, have you considered adding some more regular cooking materials? Things like Bottle of Rice Wine and Stein of Hearty Ale, that are used in recipes, but cannot be stored in the material storage.

I did but decided the use case wasn’t quite robust enough to include.

If anything, I am looking for cuts to this list, not adds.

Why should we suggest cuts??

Oh, I wasn’t necessarily asking for cut suggestions. Just indicating that I am not super interested in adding to the list, far more interested in removing. To be perfectly honest, I did not need to include the community in this project at all. I could have come up with this list on my own by just talking to folks internally. I just think it is more fun and inclusive doing it with community input and buy-in, so I took the opportunity to do that instead. It probably would have been easier for me to do it all internally.

Hello, Ben. The broadcasting system is still broadcasting Grenth & Melandru’s rounds from a couple of hours ago. Is this intended?

It feels quite confusional with the current tournament (Balthazar’s Brawl) quite hard to track the current rounds of current tournament.

Any insights, there Ben?

I agree, that’s pretty confusing. I’ll talk to the programmers about cleaning that up.

I’m also having strange texturing/coloration on one (and only one) of my characters. Changing graphics settings, rebooting the client, and even loading the character/other characters doesn’t seem to fix it. The odd-coloration is consistent, though (it always looks the same). I tried to submit a bug report, but it said “Error producing screenshot.”

Otherwise, the graphics look so beautiful on 64-bit!

This is happening to one of my characters too, I’ll add your screenshot to the existing bug. We’ve run into some oddly manifesting graphical issues throughout this process, for example, you may notice things are blue sometimes (another bug we’re working on). Keep taking screen shots and posting them here!

Thanks everyone! It’s great to finally have players in-game on this client and to be able to talk about it! We really appreciate all of the enthusiasm!

As far as ‘what can I test’, test all of the things! And as that isn’t really helpful, let us know if you had any features in the 32-bit client that you miss in the 64. For example, we added some gesture functionality recently, and we know that CMD-Enter doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do yet, we are planning on adding that.

This has been a long haul and we are all so happy to have you all help us finish this project. Please be patient with us as we fix things. All of our fixes should be in release notes, so you should know what to expect from any given release.

Use /bug in-game for bugs that are at a specific location, we search by OS and bitness so we’ll know it’s a Mac 64 bit client bug. Those reports give us information we can’t get any other way on live.

Most of all, just play and have fun! Let us know what you think, and even if we don’t respond to each post or bug, we are reading this thread and others like it. We are verifying and reproducing bugs and sending them off to the team for fixing. Like the blog post said, we need your help!

General:

  • Left and right shift are now distinct keys when used alone. This matches the already existing behavior of control and alt/option. This should not change functionality when used in combinations.
  • Added an option in the General Options tab, under Camera controls, to use either mouse button to change the direction of your character while moving.

The bracket is set up before the first match even starts, based on QP. If QP is equal, then it’s random.

Winning quickly has no bearing on your next match.

ok, I guess the issue isn’t with [FN] keys as a whole, but only F11 specifically. I tried toggling the Mac settings for the keyboard [FN] key but that does not change F11 not working at all. I do not have that key bound to anything else either.

F11 among several others are system level keybinds by default. We chose to not override this behavior.

Depending on the key and ones hardware fn and/or alt/option may need to be held to bypass the system level setting.

Alternately one can switch the system level setting in System Preferences in the Keyboard panel. Look for something to the effect of “Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” However this will generally still require alt/option for some keys unless you also turn off the system level Shortcuts.

Definite no on the latter. For the former I wouldn’t expect it.

This is very exciting. Thanks for rolling this out.

After some very preliminary testing, the client has a halting or jerky quality when I rotate the camera or move my character through the world. It’s akin to a graphical hitch. I also get the stuttering effect when I zoom out to the world map. This is with settings turned way down (lower than I currently use on the beta wrapper). Any thoughts or suggestions?

This is due to shader compilation. The longer you play, the less you will run into it (until the next time you launch the client). We have some ideas of how we can lessen the impact of it, but nothing that’s ready.

And the ^-key on the German Apple Keyboard is not bindable.

Not currently. As for your key binding issue, currently it appears in certain layouts that the key next to 1 and the key next to left shift are swapped for input in certain contexts. So temporarily you can use the button next to left shift to swap weapons.

You actually don’t have to. If you don’t have .dat in the 64-bit app, it’ll try to find the 32-bit app and use the .dat from there. This way you can keep both apps (in case one has issues) and use either. FAQ

I know it’s kind of off topic, but there is no way to use the OpenGL renderer on Windows, is there? Us Wine players would really appreciate that… There’s dozens of us! Dozens!

Currently there is not. Despite OpenGL being cross-platform there are a lot of differences between platforms (available extensions, API conformance, etc). We tried it briefly but additional work would be required to get it working properly, and we already have our hands full with the macOS client.
