Move away from the start point and come back. If you’re standing IN the start point when you enter the map it won’t give you a popup—you need to ENTER the marked area. (The same thing happens if you click “no” to the popup. You need to walk way and re-enter the area to get the popup to reappear.)

This is good advice. While I don’t have a firm release date to share just yet, I do recommend that you wait until the Personal Story is restored (with minor improvements) before playing into chapter 6.

I’ll be making a post in the next couple of weeks that will give more details on what changes the update will include.

Well that’s explained the extra U in rumor. You are probably posting from one of their machines and their spell check “fixed” it for you.

Actually, I used to live here, and for me “armour” really does have two “u’s.” I have to consciously remove the second “u” in all sorts of words. (One of the founders of ArenaNet gently told me we needed to go with “armor” back when I first started writing website content.)

Correct. Check the Game Update thread in this sub-forum for a bit more information, but essentially we do not yet have a roll-out time period.

There’s no new information on SAB at this time as far as a return date. You know it will come back at some point in the future, but there is no date to announce right now.

Hey there,

We know that some of you are anticipating a new build for Guild Wars 2 on March 10th. We wanted to give you a heads up that the game update is coming, but it will not be going out on March 10th. At the present time, contents of the build is undergoing additional QA Testing. If we get more information about an anticipated timeframe for the build’s release we’ll try to provide that info in advance. But of course as always, we will update in the forums with detailed update notes when the build goes live.

Once upon a time you were able to place buy orders for whatever ID you wanted w/o restrictions. We have since changed that to enforce that the item has to have been sold on the TP before you can place a buy order. I thought Commerce had cleaned up all the bogus buy orders for items that had never been sold, but it looks like maybe that didn’t catch everything.

I was out Thu & Fri of this week (home with a sick kid). I’ll review the latest batch tomorrow. Also, login is heavy again (game is on sale!) so we’re likely a bit outside of 3 days for GW2.

I haven’t looked at it, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be on Tyria (e.g., id 1). The continents are basically completely separate maps (e.g., check the world map when you’re in Heart of the Mists), and Maguuma is already on the Tyrian world map.

I’m a community lead on NSP. A group of us are compiling reports on an individual who has previously been banned for WvW griefing on our server, and has since come off his ban. He’s right back at it again. If you can contact me here or in game, we’d like to have it dealt with swiftly. We’ve got screenshots and video if you like, but he doesn’t try to disguise his activities, so I’m sure you could catch him in the act quite frequently.

Also SoS BL is a nice place to find teleport hackers. There’s a specific necro I’ve had my eye on for a few days now… :P
Unfortunate thing about teleport hackers is you can’t grab their name to report them once they’ve teleported away.

No, that step is in the middle of the L20 storyline, so it doesn’t require L30. And like I said, I see no case where Fibharr would ever give a “Greet” prompt. (Though if you’re not currently in his storyline, he will just say one line when you “Talk” to him. You only get a cutscene/conversation if you’re currently on the Chapter 2 storyline that he’s in.)

Got held up waiting for some translations and ironing out some issues. Those went in yesterday so barring any other excitement hopefully will be shipped next week. Ended up being more work than we anticipated to bang it into shape.

As in my original post, I cannot reproduce this or find any reason why it would fail. Fibharr is sitting and waiting for any player to “Talk” to him, his reaction depends on whether they’re on the story step to talk to him or not. I can’t find any case where he would revert to a “Greet.” Sorry!

Bug Fixes:

You don’t micromanage markets to maintain equilibrium. Not only is it an incredible amount of work you can never be wrong in, it’s not physically possible inside a live game environment.

You assume that absolute parity is required inside of tiers, I don’t necessarily agree.

Also, I don’t mind an in-game mail to report a cheat in real time. If I’m online I’ll look immediately. My display name is in my signature.

In case people don’t know, the golden pig on the Gem Store is an obvious nod to the Pike Place Market Piggy Bank in Seattle where ANet is based. I personally would have preferred a gem store mini doughnut machine that is located right next to the pig, but oh well.

Mini doughnut machine, eh? What better way to build strength, endurance, and a sugar high for encounters with world boses!

I honestly don’t know if the items in question will be “permanent,” if you mean they’ll be in the store forever. I’ve seen items rotate through, and I know that not every item is available every day. What I do know, from the post on the website, is that the items are a sort of preview and they will be offered for a longer period of time and not just a single day sometime in the future.

Reminds me of a Charlott’s Web quote: “That’s Some Pig!”

Always report as bot in WvW. It calls a GM to investigate.

So yes, the items will return.

Q: Was there ever a demographic impact that you underestimated after the economy settled down a couple of months after release?

For example, Gaile said that the HoT announcement brought back alot of old players to the game and alot of new players bought the game for 75% off. I would imagine that if a bulk of players levels and reaches endgame at the same time, it puts out alot of demand for certain items at the same time.

Not too much, one of the reasons many markets remain stable is because they are designed to resist major swings with population changes.

Thanks Gus for dealing with our siege griefer that was following our group around yesterday. It was a most welcome sight to see them dealt with. You rock!!

What did he do with the griefer?

Gus suspended the account. I believe it was for two weeks. They were caught placing irrelevant siege to block placement of legitimate siege. We also saw their placement of 50 or so siege as well as ‘stacking’ interact objects (plates of food, for example).

If they violate again the accounts held by them will be terminated.

*standing in unclaimed land
*reviving players
*using siege and supply

I agree with you, Screenager. Rezzed sounds as if it would be a good first game show for players who haven’t been to one, with plenty to do for show veterans. This will be the first time I’ve been to that particular show, but I hear good things about it. PAX East will be much larger and busier. Both, I’m sure, will be a blast!
