I can feel your pain Harvest, and probably you’re right about bad ingame communication by Anet about Start/end Season, but complaining now about rewards for off-season is really useless.
I only suggest you to read website/forum/twitter/reddit in the future :\
I shall with hold Judgement till tomorrow to see if I get anything to be fair. If not then No this isn’t over until Josh Davis pays the debt owed to me and the other top 25, top 500 for going through that sludge fest of a test season. I’m calling it a test season not an Off season because as far as I’m concern there was an ongoing leaderboard that I worked to climb and maintain.
I’m on reddit and twitter, (I have a phone) but like I said I can’t be everywhere at once. But compared to other games who are VERY publicize about there ladder/test ladders IN-GAME this area lacks severely.
Hi Harvest,
I’m sorry that you were under the impression that there’s been a test season the past two months, but this is certainly not the case. To say that there’s a debt owed is a bit misleading as we’ve never given any indication that there would be additional rewards for ranked play after the scheduled test. If you could point me to something that explicitly mentions a continued test season I’d be more than happy to investigate the miscommunication.
As a general rule, if we’re running a test season you will be notified in-game through the event UI in the top right hand corner of your screen (as we did with the Winter test season) and out-of-game via our blog.
It has come to our attention that there exists a way to duplicate Golems in WvW. The team is currently working on a fix. Until that fix is ready, we are turning off the ability to use Golem blueprints. Because there currently exists a number of duplicated Golems, Golem skills are also being disabled.
Please note that enabling a Guild Golem will consume the upgrade, but you won’t be able to use it.
Thank you for your patience as we work to address this issue.
Fixed an issue that caused player voice to play on the incorrect character.
Increased the performance of the camera’s collision sensitivity.
Updated condition damage. Previously, a condition that had a fractional remainder of time after it dealt damage would not inflict the rest of its damage. For example, a 1.5-second burn would deal 1 second of burning damage, then fail to inflict the remaining 0.5 seconds of burning. Conditions will now deal this fractional damage either at the beginning or end of their duration, depending on when the next damage pulse would occur and their remaining duration.
I haven’t really posted on the forums before (as in, at all!) but I wanted to drop by and say a huge thank you to the entire ArenaNet team for making Rezzed an incredible weekend.
I loved playing the HoT demo, and still can’t believe that me and my husband now have the matching foil HoT shirts for winning a Stronghold match! We wore them with pride on Saturday, alongside another guildie who was playing host to us for the weekend
It was an absolute pleasure chatting with Tyler, Tirzah and of course Gaile. Your passion for GW2 shines through, and you really made my weekend! Thank you so much! <3
If our going to Rezzed got you to post for the first time on the forums, well, that’s just awesome!
AND… in a matter of seconds, the team wrote back to tell me they have noted a lot of good info in this thread (thank you, guys!) and they will continue to investigate.
I imagine we’ll have an update soon, but don’t quote me on that, because I know that “soon” isn’t… the favorite word around here.
Camera Collision Detection probably isn’t going to help you in this case. This is probably a bug with how collision is set up in that area of the map. For now your best bet is to bring down your camera vertical slider a tad.
If we detect that an account may have been compromised, we will proactively block it to prevent future unauthorized access. Not everyone whose accounts become blocked did something wrong. =) Like shadow mentioned, have your friend submit a ticket here and we’ll look into the situation as soon as we are able.

It’s definitely something I’m working on. If you’re technically-minded, there’s a pull request on Github that details our plans for the initial release of an API endpoint that will allow the creation of sites that can access your character data.
What kind of time frame are you looking at before we see any kind of release?
As a non-committal estimate, late March – early April?
I feel quite sure that the team is aware of this, but I’ll send an e-mail to confirm that they do. I also noted my character was unusually “chatty” tonight, and it seems this is happening to chars of various professions and races.
Personally, I played the entire game solo. There is never a requirement to group up outside of dungeons and fractals. That said, playing with a group on most anything can really enrich your experience. I highly encourage you to find a guild of people you get along with and play with them doing whatever.
Fixed a client crash that occurred when attempting to enter the Hall of Monuments. Hall of Monuments rewards are temporarily disabled.
Fixed an issue that caused the Guild Wars 2 Launcher to freeze.
Fixed an issue that caused the textures on the Great Jungle Wurm to display incorrectly.
Fixed an issue that prevented players from purchasing trait guides from profession trainers.
Fixed an issue that prevented the Unfortunate Adventurer’s harpoon gun from damaging the Great Jungle Wurm’s pyloric valve in the Triple Trouble meta-event.
Fixed an issue that prevented the mesmer’s Blink skill from functioning correctly when traited with Master of Manipulation.
Fixed an issue that caused the necromancer to enter a downed state instead of death shroud when traited with Unholy Sanctuary.
It’s definitely something I’m working on. If you’re technically-minded, there’s a pull request on Github that details our plans for the initial release of an API endpoint that will allow the creation of sites that can access your character data.
Hey all! Thanks for the feedback here and in other threads.
Here’s the current list of things to address with the camera changes.
(Please note this does not mean that any of these things will happen, won’t happen, are planned to happen, and or not planned to happen)
We’re currently investigating a fix for this issue, but in the meantime players can fix this stacking issue by doing the following:
1) Move the “Account Bound on Acquire” items from your bank into your inventory.
2) With the items in your inventory, either log out of the game or change maps.
3) Once you log back in, or once you complete your map change, you will find that your items are now “Account Bound” and that they now will be stackable.
Thank you for your patience with using this work-around until we are able to properly fix this issue.
Hey all, been reading your feedback. I’m sad to hear that the camera changes are causing you some ‘queasiness’. While the default fov has not changed we have been receiving a few reports on some fps loss as well as an increase in camera shake. This may be a potential cause of said ‘queasiness’.
Just wanted to say I had a great time. London was great, Rezzed was a lot of fun, and everyone who showed up made it an amazing experience. I’m very thankful to those of you who patiently waited in line all day (or several times a day) to play. It was a lot of fun talking to everyone and I’ll be passing along all of your kind words and feedback to the many people who worked really hard to make the demo possible. Even though it was a busy week, I feel more refreshed and energized to get back to work than ever before. Here’s hoping we’ll cross paths in Heart of Thorns soon.
You’re reading too much into how the wiki treats the MF recipes.
Therefore, I again urge ANet to change the design decision and to publish standardized MF outputs via the API, so that they are more universally available to the community as a whole.
How would you feel about an API endpoint that effectively was just a wrapper around the wiki’s semantic search?
I’m standing by my guns on not automatically revealing new recipes upon or after discovery. In my opinion, the discovery process is for Bartle’s spades and the only reward is temporary control over the use of the discovered recipe. An API, even with an arbitrary delay, would severely hamper the incentives behind the forge puzzles.
The “fix” mentioned in all these topics, where the download actually works when one renames Gw2Setup.exe into Gw2.exe, seems a little odd and not as a permanent solution.
It most definitely isn’t. It’s a known problem and it’s being worked on.
Playing GW2 is my reward for my daily runs. So many thanks for my “carrots” – you have NO idea how much my time with both the game and many in its community have positively impacted me
I would buy more hats at the gem store to help maintain your running shoe fund, but I go through running shoes about every 6 weeks so that eats into some of my super fun time budget.
That said, lemme see your race number from your next 10K and I’ll be sure to buy you a hat for your Charr!!
P.S. — Apparently I have a new account name. Its a mystery; not that I mind. But I’m the poster who puts dumb hats on her 14 yr old Persian cat
If/when I do my next run I’ll post the number on my Twitter feed.
Tsumake: That error message seems odd. The only thing I can imagine is one of your registry values being misconfigured. Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit windows? If you are unsure you can follow the steps here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/find-out-32-or-64-bit
amis: Where specifically does it freeze? Could you screenshot it? There is an issue that went out today that would cause the installer to freeze. We’re working on fixing that, but you should not run into that if you renamed the installer. Patching also seems to have been a bit of a roller-coaster today, so could you try again?
The team is investigating this situation, as there do appear to be a few issues. (And btw, we love the UK and hope you won’t take the issue personally! ) Honestly, though, this seems to extend beyond the UK.
In the meantime, if you try some of the player suggestions here and find that one of them does help you, could you kindly call that out, so others know to try it? Doing so may also help the devs analyze the various issues.
Just thought I’d mention that OVerwolf is giving away 20 Plantronics RIG headset to the first 20 developers to submit a qualifying app (*). Feel free to interact in this thread, with Raif or directly on the Overwolf developer forum
Happy coding
Thanks!
(*) To maintain a high level of quality, Overwolf and ArenaNet reserve the right to choose which apps qualify to the Overwolf Appstore. You can still update the app after the first upload. All original Contest rules apply, winning the giveaway does not affect your changes to win the challenge.
If you’re stuck with just a couple files remaining, I posted instructions for enabling streaming on Mac in this thread over here. That may help until it gets resolved.
With the patch out the door, you now have the option of downloading parts of the game while playing. Victoria posted a blog post about it two weeks ago with instructions for how to enable it if you are playing on a PC. If you are playing on a Mac, this is how you enable it:
Open a Finder window with any folder.
In the Go meny, select Go to Folder…, or press Cmd+Shift+G.
Enter ~/Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2 and press enter. Note: This step requires you have launched the game at least once. Going to the launcher should be enough.
In this folder, there should be a file named config. Open this file using a text editor (such as TextEdit).
At the bottom of this file, add these two lines (without the line numbers):
[AppDefaults\\GW2.exe\\transgaming]
"CmdLineAdd" = "-streamingclient"
Save and close the file.
Important: Please ensure that the quotes in those two lines are straight quotes ("), not curly quotes (“).
That’s it! Next time you launch the game you should be able to enter the game without having to fully patch first. If you would like to disable it again, you can follow these same steps and just remove those two lines again.
Please be aware that – while we expect it to be working properly – we have noticed some performance drops with streaming on Mac (only while downloading). In particular, patching from an older build may lower your frame rate temporarily. It’s something we hope to solve before setting streaming to be default.
In this particular case, /v2/items is lagging behind because we’ve added a manual verification step to the item whitelisting process. This is a (hopefully) temporary workaround until I figure out why items like this sometimes get whitelisted and how to prevent that from happening.
Would it be possible to have the list of ingredients on items that can be crafted, even Mystic forge recipes like legendaries or exotic weapons (i.e infinite light, mjolnir, etc…) ?
This information is on the wiki but not in the API.
Not in the forseeable future. Refer to this thread.
One decimal place is ok, two starts getting into the limitations of IEEE floats and the calls to the API get turned into nonsense.
Thus a request for 80.82 gold worth of gems returns “2” instead of something sensical. The trade happens entirely on the server and will deduct/deposit the correct amounts, it just won’t match up with the now-goofy UI state.
