I so love this. Thank you for sharing, cDKI!
I will add as a mini collector and a avid gem purchaser, I am rather ticked that the only way to get this mini is all based on RNG. I have already opened over 5k bags and nothing. I always buy the gem mini’s to complete my collection. I will have to stop now due to this matter.
boohoo to me I know, This is now the only aspect of the game I enjoy ( I am a digital Hoarder)
I understand, Vladimer. I am the same sort — I’m still playing sometimes for a MPB (Miniature Polar Bear) in Guild Wars during the Wintersday event.
If you continue the quest, I will wish you luck, as one collector to another.
Thanks for your help, Aerdwen. We went ahead and merged the thread to keep all feedback and discussion together.
I’m glad you all are liking that little pup. I agree, he’s incredibly adorable!! Except… I thought he was a she. Do we know for sure?
i dont like my chances but i have put in a ticket.
I’m glad you wrote Customer Support. They often are able to help, and it’s their first effort to do so whenever possible.
(Congrats on the Dusk, btw!)
As you all know, there where a couple of Mac related fixes in the last patch.
From what I am seeing, the patch fixed these issues for most of the Mac players. I have however, noticed that there may be a handful of y’all that are still experiencing issues.
If you are still experiencing either of the following issues I would like you to provide me with some basic info about your system by replying to this post.
Basic System Info Needed:
Thanks!
Hey Guyver, what are your current graphics settings?
(edited by Keenan Sieg.1493)
Okay everybody, I think this discussion has run its course. I appreciate all the feedback, and as I said earlier, this isn’t something we’re looking to implement anymore. I think the thing everybody should take away from this is that you can’t unilaterally judge the validity of a person’s opinion on factors external to the content of their comments.
edit 7:
Lemark rested his back against the rocky wall.
“Deja vu,” he thought wearily. Even the thought had grown tiresome.
Two months he’d been here. Two whole months of combat. He had almost died so often that the novelty was wearing off.
“What does it say about a person when your imminent death is an uninteresting topic for pondering,” he thought to himself.
He was tired of everything – this place, the clinking noises he made everywhere he went, the shelled beasts, and especially tired of the never-ending bloodshed.
He leaned his head back, closed his eyes and tried to imagine being back home.
Instead he saw the smug face of Zomorros.
He had almost forgotten his hate for the being. It was exactly what he needed – a reminder of why he was here.
A slight rumbling forced his attention back to reality as one of the creatures noticed his intrusion. He stared directly at the charging beast. If he had to, he would wipe this entire species off the face of the planet.

Thank goodness they listened. The mistake was starting to look like it would kill any fun to be had from the halloween event.
It’s nice to have this sorted out, even if it’ll take time to implement the change. But in the end, I feel that players will be patient while this change is enabled because the exchange and the customization will be great.
In the meantime, there’s candy corn to be had, kings to be back-talked, and so much more! <3 Halloween.
(And hey, I like your name a lot, btw!)
Thank you, Gaile, for an official response here on the forums.
Absolutely!
I’m sorry we weren’t able to answer earlier, but it took a bit of time to research how best to address player concerns. I’m glad that this is going to be resolved in a way that will give players a great deal of flexibility, customization, personalization, the whole lot.
I was just thrilled when the devs said the custom option could be done. I think my “Yaaaay!” was heard in downtown Seattle.
Will the graph be coming back?
I don’t know that. I will ask tomorrow and try to let you guys know.
Here’s an update for you:
It’s clear that quite a lot of you would like to have greater flexibility in using the Currency Exchange. Our intention when we designed the new interface was to streamline large volume purchases, which make up the majority of transactions.
In light of your feedback, we will update the Currency Exchange so that you can decide how you want to use it. We will keep the new streamlined system and also offer a new “Custom” button on the panel that you can use to exchange any increment of gems or gold.
We anticipate rolling this out soon. Stay tuned!

Sorry for the delay in posting this, but out of respect to our international community, we wanted to be able to post in several forums at once.
skullfaerie can you pm me your system specs if this is still happening please? Thanks.
I’m not trying to discredit anybody here. However, as some have mentioned, they have seen players making posts about having quit the game, yet see those same players on their friends list logging in daily. If you’re posting about how long ago you quit the game, yet log in daily, that’s attention-seeking.
The point I’m getting at here is that while there are people who behave in that manner, there are at least as many, if not more, players who legitimately come and go for whatever reasons and should not be punished for that simple fact. I don’t assume somebody is using those tactics just because they say that they quit the game, and anybody (yes anybody) who is leaving constructive and respectful feedback has a right to leave said feedback, regardless of their last login date.
I should also add that the considerations for this feature were over two years ago when we were launching the forums and determining what type of restrictions to put in place.
This is something that we had considered in the past, but opted against because it unfairly works against lapsed players who want to ask what’s changed since they last played and players like Pixelpumpkin who may, for personal reasons, be unable to log into the game, but still want to interact with the forums and stay up to date on the game.
It’s also worth pointing out that some people use claims of quitting the game as an attention-getting tactic, when in fact they are still quite active. Putting in this type of restriction would just push those people to claim they only log in to keep their forum privileges active.
This is really your attitude towards your customers?
Thanks for being honest, at least.
I think you have a personal axe to grind, I see no problem with them wanting to allow anyone that has purchased the game and had an active account to continue to post on the forums. Also, as Pixelpumpkin pointed out above, they were unable to log into the game for 2 months due to personal reasons…just what exactly do you see as their attitude towards their customers anyways…other than being accommodating.
We would rather be accommodating towards lapsed players than punish those who have quit the game and decide to post maliciously (not saying that everybody who quits the game does so). No technology can determine one from the other, and it’s not fair to punish the good with the bad.
The reason it was ever under consideration was because subscription-based MMOs typically revoke forum access if you do not have a current (paid) subscription. We investigated how we could achieve the same type of access restriction and, as I said above, determined that it was unfair to lapsed players who may return to the forums for information or answers regarding the current state of the game.
First, try upping your Dialog Volume slider in the Sound Options panel.
If that’s no good, then my next thought is that something is wonky with how your audio device is configured at the operating system level such that some of the output signal is getting routed to speakers that may not exist. If it turns out that may be the case, and you use Windows, it can be investigated by doing the following
1. Right-clicking the speaker on the notification area of the task-bar
2. Selecting ‘Playback Devices’
3. Highlight the primary device you’re trying to use
4. Hitting the configure button to open the configuration wizard
5. Follow the appropriate steps to ensure that the device is set in accordance with the actual speaker configuration you’re using
Let us know if you have or haven’t found a solution, ok?

Bug Fixes:
Should be fixed after the next patch.
edit 6:
Lemark sat back against the rocky wall, brackish water rained down from one geyser or another. “What am I even doing here?” he thought for the thousandth time. He was exhausted, bloody and sore. “One of these alien curs is going to kill me before I’m done with this”, he grumbled to himself as he stood up and stretched. He needed a drink, but the day hadn’t grown cold yet, he still had time. His resolve hardened, one more attempt, he starred at yet another dulled blade, one more chance for results…this wasn’t going to be fun.

If your accounts are linked, your password for your Guild Wars account is the same password that you use for your Guild Wars 2 account.
If you need further assistance (such as a character name), you can file a ticket at the link I have provided below. Please select “Account Issue” from the drop-down menu on that page to help expedite the process. Please note that we are a bit backed up at the moment, so our replies may be delayed.
That ticket was just filed earlier today, so it might be a bit before it receives a reply. We answer tickets in the order in which they are received and we are a bit backed up at the moment, so response times have been delayed. My apologies for the inconvenience.
If you are still seeing performance stuttering or fluctuations please try running the client with “-nosound” and let me know if it helps.
Where do you put the “-nosound” to try it?
1. Create a new shortcut for Guild Wars 2 or make a copy the existing one with a different name.
2. Then right-click on it and select “properties”. A window should pop-up with a edit box titled “Target” that shows the Gw2.exe.
3. Add [ -nosound] after the exe without brackets. Make sure there is a space before the dash.
4. Click OK and launch the game with the shortcut.
5. Verify it worked by ensuring the game isn’t outputting audio.
edit 5:
Lemark was in high spirits, it had been a productive week. After a series of failures his luck had turned. He stared at his own reflection in the item, such a trivial thing by itself, but with many, there was power. Zomorros knew it as well, Lemark had seen the desire in his eyes before, this was one of his favorites.
Out of story hint: I’ve only referenced 2 of the components so far.

His ticket was escalated to me earlier this morning. I’ll reply to it after I finish my rounds here. =)

Well, at least we got our response; which I deeply respect. Just to confirm this Chad, blank tab under “Textures:” is part of “intended development fix” or bug?
Thanks in advance!
bug
last day?
Lets see what this CDI will result, they had alot of good brainstorming here.
Agreed.
Ok so I am rather busy today so I will get us moving onto Raiding tomorrow or Friday.
i do apologies but I have been quite busy, has anyone counted up our priority order? If not I will get it done.
Chris
ehm , button for “high” texture settings is grayed out together with high character textures… is this your magic fix? no seriously are you trying to scale the graphic this way?
“High-res character textures” is greyed out and unable to change(check or uncheck). Also, “Textures:” field is empty, making me be able select only medium and low.
What is the meaning of this anet?
This was intended…sort of. “High-res character textures” will no longer be available for low performance CPUs(most dual core) since it can be incredibly demanding on performance; on CPUs like these it will make the game unplayable. The grayed out texture quality bit was unintended and will be fixed.
This was a very minor part of the changes that went in, none of which I would qualify as “the magic fix”. As I mentioned it’s been incredibly difficult to ascertain what some of you are experiencing and thankfully our changes helped some of you, but for others it did not. We will keep working on it, chipping away at the issues we find.
Thanks all for your feedback and apologies for the hiccup. I will keep you posted if we find a smoking gun.
We’re looking at this now, sorry for the hassle.
Glad I could help!
So, now that the Skyhammer changes have gone in (hammer now dodgable, floor break time increased, can’t break floors while in stealth), what are people’s opinions? Is it bearable, or even fun, now?
I’m interested in seeing these questions answered by those who have posted in this thread with a generally negative opinion, but have gone back and retried the map since yesterday’s changes.
In your opinion, are yesterday’s changes to Skyhammer generally positive? Are there other small tweaks like this (aside from removal of solo queue) that you feel would make the map a better experience for players – changes that wouldn’t drastically change the gameplay dynamic and aesthetic of the map?

Update October 21, 2014
Bug Fixes
3.5-4 Story continues:
(2 days later)
Lemark sprinted down the alleyway, an endeavor likely to leave one examining refuse closer than generally preferable, but this wasn’t his first time. He slowed for a moment to glance behind him, merchants still chasing with guards closely behind them. He was surprised they hadn’t given up, they must be very sensitive about their heritage here, the item itself was a bit too everyday to inspire this kind of rage. “Two more blocks”, he thought to himself, double-checking the sealed, cylindrical case he carried. His attempted thievery had failed, for today, but he wasn’t going to lose what he had to the muddy waters of the bay.

Follow up: the mentioning of copper isn’t intended as additional information.
Follow up: the mentioning of copper isn’t intended as additional information.
We do know the following clues:
1. It’s something Zomorros has never had before, suggesting the output item is a completely new item or one that hasn’t been droppable before.
2. His “Lemark” clue suggests that one of the four input items is purchased from a merchant, and that it’s “ghostly”.
3. Minis are not part of the inputs.
Nice work, keep it up!
LOL, looks like torches and pitchforks time.
And Gaile, people are reacting in an understandable manner.
It’s because they are angry.
The big question in my mind, is why?
Yeah, I was thinking the same about the pitchforks and torches.
I don’t discount players when they are upset, though, and I truly understand that sometimes things hit close to home and cause some angst, anger, upset, any sort of reaction. (I’d think it was possible to have the discussion without it devolving into unpleasantness, but then, I always was an optimist!
)
I asked a quick question of a team leader about the changes. I thought the answers were pretty clear so I posted them. But if you want more info, maybe there’s more to be learned and I’ll ask about that tomorrow.
Should be fixed now.
I would like to know why the conversion history was removed.
I don’t know the answer to that, but I can certainly ask in the morning.
Add an option buy gems in 100 gem increments instead of making 400 gems the smallest denomination possible. Problem solved.
THERE! Thank you, Errant Venture — that’s a solid suggestion with a reasonable tone. Thank you.
Regardless of the increments (though I also wish for smaller increments if this new system is here to stay), please keep in mind the pricing of current, new, and on-sale items. The system you have right now is inconvenient with anything priced at 500 gems, 900 gems, etc. This goes especially for items priced anything in between those 100 gem intervals (125 gems, 275 gems).
Hey everyone, whatever your opinion is on this new currency exchange, hyperbole doesn’t help. It wastes everyone’s time trying to read them and filter out the BS.
I understand what you’re saying, WindFall, and thanks for providing the team with a clearly expressed suggestion.
The interface did need adjusting, but not at the expense of freedom.
Yes it was confusing. Yes it was a little buggy.
How to fix?:
Leave its current functionality in.
Put the graph back in.
Put a custom amount section in too. Thus you’d have the new and the old.
Reasonable input on the former system and another suggestion. Thanks.

Ok, guys. Some of you are unhappy about this change, I can see that. BUT… quite honestly, most of you are sort of (I hate to use the word) ranting (sorry!) instead of offering suggestions.
I assure you, the team leader told me not 15 minutes ago, they will listen to suggestions.
So you want lower increments? Think it through and present a suggestion! You want XYZ in the interface? Post that idea. You would rather see something else? Post what you think about that other thing. Please don’t get into the whole “I’m going to kick the devs and their little dogs, too” because it’s not doing you or us any good at all.
I’m not here to apologize. I’m here to communicate and right now, the communication is coming in without a whole lot of substance. Over to you for suggestions and constructive input!
