I saw the test of the new interface today and it looks solid to me. (I also happen to think it’s very attractive, but maybe that’s just me.
)
The interface and Custom option move into testing now, and the text is already headed to Localization.
The dev team is keenly aware that there are Halloween items available only during a specific period (through November 4) and therefore they intend to do their darnedest to offer the new options in the next few days but certainly in advance of November 4th if humanly possible. (I have confidence this will happen.)
9 Accounts, Manually Controlled, Ok, lets do some Bearbow math.
It’ll take you ~1 second to move between each client
1 second to initiate a command (assuming you only want 9 characters to do 1 skill and then auto attack)
Thats 18 seconds for 1 action across 9 accounts with 0 movement, so 3.3 (repeating of course) actions per minute per account.
Technically speaking, you could pull off a 3 Rapid Fires on your Bearbows per account per minute with 6 seconds to spare between switches. A normal Bearbow can do 7.5 Rapid Fires per minute, and throw in 2 Barrages (but that requires targeting, something you don’t have time to do), upping damage to equal roughly 9 Rapid Fires.
Your 9 Bearbows are roughly equal to 3 real Bearbows. It seems if you wanted to be effective, you should be multiboxing only 3 accounts rather than 9, if my Bearbow math is correct.
That is unless you are botting, or have keys bound to multiple clients, either way, that’s gonna fetch a ban…like it did

Lots of great concepts here already, great job folks. I’ll echo that this discussion is most helpful if we consider what the concept of guild raids in Guild Wars 2 could be, rather than attempting to limit to what “raids” in other games have been.
Think outside the box and ask yourself what other “raid” type systems don’t do well, and consider proposals that you think both make best use of what Guild Wars does well; it’s a similar process we use when evaluating any system or feature for Gw2 in general.
Look forward to reading more of your ideas!
Hey, is there any reason why raids wouldn’t just scale to your size? So like… 5-20 man, bring what you can, and it scales.
Very hard to get the balance we would want from this kind of content.
The experience we are looking for would also be diluted the more players you have in an instanced raid.
This said, let’s say the number was ten. We shouldn’t stop folks from trying to beat content with 5 for example.

Soooo sorry! I asked about this and forgot to post!
Some time ago, it was noticed and reported as a “bug” that during cinematics, the “fidget” animations continued. So you’re seeing this exciting story bit about a dragon attack and, behind the scenes, your character is yawning and toeing the sand. It just didn’t fit.
So the animations were temporarily removed to be worked on and reincorporated in a way that allowed them to perform normally in the game but to stop (or maybe change) during cinematics. But getting to a place where the animations could be configured on a more fine-grained basis took more time than anticipated.
From what I understand, the team has the tools to reconfigure and re-enable the animations, but the team lead told me that naturally they’ll need to figure out when someone (or maybe more than one person) can be assigned the task. As it turns out, each animation bit needs to be reconfigured individually.
TL;dr: This change is coming, as soon as it can be scheduled and prioritized. Naturally, some matters that are higher on the priority list but this project will be scheduled as appropriate.

Hello, my name is Light Guardian Jack and I’m one of the leaders of TTS, I’ve talked with the other leaders about what we would want from a Raiding system and I’ve come up with this proposal. To me, Raiding has always existed in Guild Wars 2 just in the form of Tequatl, the Triple Trouble Wurm, and even some living world events in Season 1. I would like new tools to allow more players to experience the same Raids as us and to serve as a platform so that Anet can deliver new content for all the community who desires quality High-Player count experiences.
Proposal Overview
An expansion of tools to allow current “Mega-Organized Events” and old Living Story events to become Raids to allow more inclusive play.Goal of Proposal
-Provide more tools so that old “Mega-Organized events” can be organized easier.
-Allow for a variety of content to be presented to the player without too much work for the Developers
-Reduce the barriers that normally block most players from Raids.
-Revive old classic living world events fans of the game are screaming for a return.Proposal Functionality
-Guilds would be allowed to create their own separate instances for either certain current world events (Mega-Organized Events) or old living story events (Marionette, Tower of nightmares, Scarlet Hologram fight), this could use the current “Guild World Event” Spawner.
-This instance would allow player up to a certain cap (15-150 depending on the raid)(could have multiple sizes for the same raid).
-Once inside, if the Guild does not have enough players to fill the instance, they may use the LFG tool to allow players to connect directly into the map from the LFG tool itself (there might need to be restrictions on how to control who gets into the raid but there are several different ways you could do this).Associated Risks
-Even with the LFG tool, players may find organizing with other players to be difficult if they are in a small guild.
-Recycled content may not feel “difficult” enough to satisfy hardcore raiders.
-Player may abandon Open-World events in favor of instanced ones and thus alienating those who can’t network as well.I believe that such a system would give developers the freedom to develop a variety of raiding content of various player counts without a lot of restrictions and would address many of the issues players have with raiding in other games and in this current game. The Triple Trouble world event is fun but often hear how players are sick of doing the “overflow dance” to try to get into an organized instance and I hardly blame them. Instead of abandoning old content, build this new content onto of the old raiding system and old raiding communities to allow us to include even more players.
I also personally would enjoy many old Season 1 living story events to return as revamped Raids. The Tower of Nightmares could return as an epic 10-15 raid where you have to clear all the bosses to climb up the tower, the Battle of the Breachmaker could be revamped into a small 25 man raid with everyone split up fighting the 3 color knights in the beginning and coming together to fight scarlet and the Marionette could return. The possibilities are endless once we break apart from this 5 man dungeon or 150 man open world box.
I also want to point out the “Smaller” or “locked scaling” instances of the existing raid Mega-Bosses (Tequatl and Triple trouble) would be possible under this system and every raid new and old could in theory have multiple raid sizes with scaling in order to accommodate multiple sizes of guilds.
I believe that such a system would encourage more players of various skill levels to have a greater variety of content to indulge in with minimum barriers to entry.
Thanks TTS for your first proposal. Looking forward to chatting with you guys.
By the way, recently I was kicked from your guild (-: Would love a re-invite (-:
Chris
We will begin by talking about what we think instanced co-operative group based ‘challenging’ content could look like in GW2.
Of note this is a serious design group and initiative, therefore I will have no patience for arguments around who the most ‘leet’ gamers are or for lack of collaboration during conception of ideas.
With this in mind try to keep the following in mind for the design discussion. Our design should be based around:
- Accessibility.
- Playing to the strengths of existing GW2 core functionality.
Thanks,
Chris
(edited by Chris Whiteside.6102)
Give us an ETA, emphasis on the E.
When people complain that the ETA was not exact, remind them that estimates are not promises! You could even include that reminder after every estimate. Something like this.
Hi guys,
Don’t worry, this change is in review right now. It will probably be released in the next few days (remember: estimates are not promises). We’ll keep you informed.
-Hypothetical Anet Dev
If a player reads a post like that, and comes back five days later demanding that Anet make good on their promise, it is only because of that player’s stupidity. I hope that the community will address that player’s comments without Anet needed it intervene at all.
This is very sensible. Thanks for the input.
Definitely definitely prefer something specific to soon. I mean, if you give us an estimate and then notify us that its changed, that’s twice we’ve heard a real honest answer. :-)
I like that too. Thank you.
Not giving any useful information by saying “soon” kittenes off everybody. Saying “in a couple days” and then it taking a week because of unexpected issues only kittenes off the unreasonable people.
-The unreasonable people will complain no matter what you do
-The reasonable people will understandWhy kitten off both parties?
Despite the onslaught of “kittens” in this post, I get it. I only hope that the number of raesonables is far, far greater than the unreasonables.
Welcome fellow collaborators to the next phase of the Guild CDI topics.
*Phase 2 Topic Title: *How would you like to see Raiding function if this activity were part of GW2?
Below are some suggested formatting tools that will make the CDI more accessible if followed.
Suggested Idea Format
Proposal Overview
<A short description of the proposal that is being put forward>
Goal of Proposal
<What problem are you trying to solve with your proposal>
Proposal Functionality
<How does your proposal work in regard in relation to the current design of GW2>
Associated Risks
<What risks or problems can you foresee with this proposal which you would like to have assistance on from other members of the CDI>
Please try to be as concise as feasible with your proposal.
Suggested Discussion Approach
No suggested format.
Suggested Post Word Count: 200
CDI Rules:
1: This initiative is all about discussion.
2: We will not be disclosing information pertaining to what is currently in development.
3: Anger and emotion will have less impact than intelligent discussion.
4: Together we will share and evolve design philosophies which will impact how we develop the game moving forward.
5: Aggression and disrespect to a fellow community member or developer will not be tolerated, and in the extreme could lead to the shutting down of the initiative.
6: The teams primary focus is work toward the development of GW2 and therefore posting of discussion and commentary may not be as frequent as you like. Please do understand that the initiative is taken very seriously by us all and that we will be reading the discussions and joining in as often as it is possible to do so.
7: Off topic posts will be deleted.
Please note this is not a competition, either between yourselves or the developers in regard to one up man ship. The point of this Initiative is to work together to make the game better.
Note: We will disclose the ideas we do or don’t like as a group but we will not discuss schedules or timing around implementation.
P.S: I may wait a day before starting to post to allow the discussion to evolve naturally.
I will try to do summaries (CDI members feel free to help out to if you like that kind of thing) and will be constantly keeping up to date with the discussion. Just because I don’t post all the time doesn’t mean I am not reading it.
Finally note that the last CDI was the most collaborative and valuable CDI we have run. Let’s try to maintain this please.
Chris
Ok working on setting up the Raiding CDI.

Hey All,
Thanks for being so patient with me. And thank you for what has been the most productive and collaborative CDI to date. Long may it last…
I will be forwarding the link to the design team who have been keeping a watchful eye on our discussion and who will take the info and pertinent discussion and arm themselves with this knowledge as we move forward and evolve the game.
Right so here are the top 5 wishes for Guild Halls if they were to be included in GW2:
CDI Proposal Phase 1: Guilds QOL and Logistics
This is a proposal put together by the CDI group specifically for the Anet development team to read and discuss. This is not a commitment of work.
1: Customization and Identity: The ability to customize your guild hall in a manner that provides your guild with it’s own identity as well as a wide variety of guild hall customization progression.
2: Small Guilds: The ability for small guilds and large guilds to enjoy the progression and benefits of Guild Halls without either making progression to easy or two hard (potentially through scaling)
3: Guild Activities:The ability to progress Guild Halls by taking on activities of varying types with your guild.
4: GvG Access and Functionality: We are discussing this after Raids.
5: Town Convenience: The ability to have town services in the Guild Hall. (I just want to point out that I am not a big fan of this due to the impact it could have on our current Cities.)
I am going to leave the thread open for a while (few hours) and then sticky it on the CDI section at which point we will jump into the next phase discussion Raiding!
Once again thanks to you all. You are great!
Chris
I understand the issue with number 5 and I agree. I don’t want ALL conviences there, but only a few perhaps? Maybe the guild has to CHOOSE having two crafting benches, or something, but not allowed all of them
I think some kind of middle ground makes sense.

Chris thank you for putting so much time and effort into the CDI. I am very grateful for the opportunity to brainstorm with the developers of the best MMO out now and I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. Hope for many more years of collaboration and good vibes! God bless!
Thanks Zoso. It really has been awesome and kudos to you guys for spending so much time on the discussion. and I also hope that the CDI continues to grow and evolve and be a staple of our development philosophy.

Ok, that was a quick run across the room and here’s the answer:
Yep.
With the Maize Balm recipe making ToT bags a year-around item for those who craft it, or with the use of Vial of Maize Balm drops, pups will continue to be available for the foreseeable future. Obviously there’s Halloween 2015 to be designed, but it would be nearly a year before that would roll out, so the short answer is…
Yes.
Si.
Oui.
Ya.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
2015 is in 2 monthes, I really hope you’re kidding :p
Good catch! I meant “Halloween 2015” which is a year from now. Not the whole year’s planning.
Thank you for being on top of this, Gaile.
Do you know whether the mini will still drop from the Trick or Treat bags after the event is over?
I do not know. Let me see if I can find out.
Not next year, no. Not months from now, no. It’s coming, and it’s coming very soon.
In fact, I’m going to a review in less than an hour, although that doesn’t set a release time quite yet.
What I wonder about is this: What if someone says something is coming “in the next couple of days” or “within the next week” or “by the end of the month” and then testing reveals an issue that delays the implementation? Would you rather hear something rather specific, like “in the next couple of days,” even while you know that it could change for reasons outside our control? Or would you rather hear “soon” and not have as solid an expectation, but also take on board that the implementation is a top priority (as was mentioned in the thread about the Currency Exchange changes)?
I feel that either answer isn’t perfect, so I’d welcome your insights. You should know that I truly do understand that “soon” is frustratingly vague and I argue against.. I mean, “I gently speak in favor of alternatives…”
whenever we can use something more meaningful. On the other hand, saying something more specific can result in flaming “You promised it by XX time!” comments, because even a casual possible release time could be adopted as an absolute date/time/time zone promise.
Thoughts?
Hey Empathy! Thanks for getting my attention via the forums!
Actually, your account was never suppose to have been unbanned. Looks like this was a slipup that I’ll rectify right now. Your main account and 8 other accounts have been banned/rebanned.
Your other accounts were banned for botting (and selling gold), and your main account was banned because you mailed gold from your bots to it.
Feel free to contact Customer Support again if you have any questions.

So glad you liked the trailer. I think it was marvelous, too!
The Currency Exchange will be offering incremental purchase options with a new build that should go out quite soon. So no worries about purchasing in “bundles,” you can purchase as you desire using the “Custom” option.
I read through this thread to get caught up, and there seem to be a few questions that I can address:
I also want to say that I’d love nothing more than to have Gwynefyrdd for myself. One comment here — “he swims!” and I was gone. I truly wish all of you great good luck with this goal!
Are you allowed to tell us the percentage of gold sunk out of the economy by trading post fees and taxes (relative to overall gold drained by all gold sinks)?
Ballpark figure would suffice.
I take a wild guess and say 60%.
I am not. I will tell you that it’s much more complicated that aggregating gains and spends.
@ Chris Cleary , can you list your rig that gets 79 fps in LA THATS SICK !! on that res tooo
I recently built a new rig to replace my 4+ year old one, needless to say I went a little nuts, but I built a rig that wouldn’t cry when running @4K
MSI X99S Gaming 9 AC
Intel® Core™ i7-5960X CPU @ 4.10GHz
32 GB DDR4 @ 2999.3 MHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 x2
Looks clear, we’re hearing from other players that are now able to redeem! WOOO!
This should be fixed now, can anyone verify?
Ok I am working on putting the top 3 priorities post together fyi.

Login issues are currently taking ~4 days. Hacked Restorations take longer. I’ve got the teams burning through tickets. Don’t lose hope! =D
Rollbacks are not optional following an account compromise. Your account was very clearly compromised on or near August 5th, hence the rollback. We’ll discuss further in your ticket.
Do the buffs from the Gobbler stack in effect or duration with booster buffs?
If I have a gemstore armor buff, will the gobbler either add to it in effect or make it last longer before expiring? What about magic find? If I get magic find from a bonfire, will this make the MF las longer or increase my total MF?
If you get the same buff from the gobbler it extends the duration of existing buffs making them last longer.
Just a quick update for our SSOM owners.. We’ll be improving the per use cost of the Silver-fed Salvage-O-Matic in one of the upcoming releases. Stay tuned.
I hope by “improving” you mean “decreasing”
:P
1 Candy Corn per use.
Of course not. It’s a Silver fed Salvage-o-matic… it’ll be one silver doubloon per use.
I hadn’t thought of that….. hmmm.
yes it will be decreasing

You’re welcome.
Sorry it took so long, we had to catch all of the wasps and feed them meds to stop them freezing up… pesky bugs.
I’ve been running on 3840×2160 about a year, and have had no problems @4K. That being said, 4K performance is wildly dependant on your rig. The difference between standard 1920×1080 and 3840×2160 is significant, and even with the beastly right I am currently running, I rarely hold 60 FPS during large WvW fights. My suggestion, don’t go 4K unless your rig can handle it, you aren’t going to be able to appreciate the difference in resolution if your framerate drops.
As far as the game supporting 4K, it does and looks fantastic (however the interface could probably use some scaling work on higher resolutions). I’ll look into it, but I wouldn’t expect anything soon as 4K isn’t exactly mainstream.
Bug Fixes:
Hi All,
Sorry for not concluding this phase of the CDI today. I have time tomorrow so hang tight.
Chris
I just assumed you were in a candy corn coma….:p
Hi All,
Sorry for not concluding this phase of the CDI today. I have time tomorrow so hang tight.
Chris
3 things here:
1) When gems are purchased on an account, the receipt is sent to the email address provided during checkout, not the one bound to your GW2 Account.
2) It seems your account has been locked due to a compromise, please be sure to create a CS support ticket so we can get your account sorted out.
3) The above comments are correct, CS is unable to restore items from a Guild Bank after an account compromise (or other issues).
Edit #1: I see you have a CS ticket open, this looks like your Serial codes were compromised, and possibly your email. As it seems some fraudulent purchases were made on the account, it’s going to take some time to sort everything out.

Hey guys,
I’ve noticed this pop up for players a lot more and so at this time can you please try the following for me?
Start the Guild Wars 2 launcher.
Uncheck “Remember Account Name.”
Uncheck “Remember Password.”
Close the launcher.
Navigate to the location "C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
Locate and delete local.dat from this folder.
Once deleted, go ahead and start the launcher again.
Hope this helps!
Did your friends ban message say a time frame of the ban? My friend’s didn’t and I’ve been reading that its some kind of bug. It’s been almost a week now and nothings been done. I think that most people would like to know why they were ban but it seems rarely do they say the reason, which is kind of ridiculous as you can’t fix what you don’t know. There definitely needs to be more transparency with these procedures.
This is indeed a bug, and fix is currently in the works. Once it’s implemented, there will be more specific ban reasons as well as a duration listed. We’ll let you know once it’s done.
Please include the IP address of the server if possible. We believe this may be a hardware issue.

Just to update everyone, we’ve identified a probable cause for this issue and we’re working towards a solution at the moment. Again, my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
We did indeed update the Halloween music in our last recording sessions, but only two of the pieces. We released the second on today on Soundcloud:
https://soundcloud.com/arenanet/halloween-in-tyria-live
I thought about redoing the Clocktower, but since a lot of it is just sound effects stuff, and the timing is very specific to the length of the puzzle, I figured it was easier to leave it as is, at least for now.
Considering that there is already an active thread discussing the same topic and that this one has run its course and is veering off topic, I’m going to close this one and request you post on this topic in the other one (linked above).
