I have reported that the survey is failing for some players, and I definitely believe that is being worked on. Can you tell me if you got a “greyed out” submit button, no button at all, or… what exactly took place?
Secondly, yes we are backed up and we apologize for the delays in responding. There are a few major issues causing delays, and again, we are sorry for those and working as hard as we can to catch up.
Thirdly, a general response is not necessarily a bad thing. For instance, tonight, hundreds of people were updated on their issue with World Complete. Trying to write 100+ individual, differently worded responses would be a waste of time, when we can write one detailed, exact, and complete response and send it to everyone. (We generally do tell players that they are receiving a broadcast message.) Individual issues after the general response are then handled on a case-by-case basis, but I stand behind the idea of sending one solid, carefully-crafted response rather than having a dozen agents write responses that may be incomplete or sufficiently different to cause confusion amongst our players.
Each player’s issue is dealt with individually. Sometimes, the same well-crafted response works for multiple players. It reduces our response turn-around time, and ensures that everyone gets a full and complete answer.
If you could kindly post your ticket number, we can look into why the survey did not work for you. You are free to update your ticket to share your input, if you desire. I don’t believe the forum is an appropriate medium for such commentary because we need to see your ticket and your issue — to give you the personal response that you deserve and that we want to give you.

Okay, so… there is a fix coming.
In the meantime – if you finish map complete and do not get your 2x Gift of Exploration submit a support ticket. If you have correctly found all of the required POIs, WPs, etc. support is going to automatically send you the items. We will be doing this until the fix rolls out to the servers once every 24 hours.
When you submit the ticket the first post-auto-response we send you is going to be a generic ‘wait 24 hours’ response to allow us time to send you the gifts if you are due them. If you don’t qualify we’ll follow up with instructions on what to check in order to get you map complete.
Please be patient on your tickets, we’re a bit swamped right now but we’ll not forget you. =D
*Edit – Afterthought. We already sent out a large batch of these today so the next one goes out tomorrow.

Yes, please. Do have your friend submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page, then clicking “Submit a request” in the upper right-hand section of that linked page. The team should be able to assist him
For tips on what information to provide in a ticket — mostly intended for security reasons to establish that he owns the account — please ask him to read this post and provide as many suggested details as possible to expedite the ticket.

Thanks for inspiring us, Christina.
This opened my eyes to how amazing of a character Taimi is, congrats anet. I now want a Taimi wallpaper! Artists of GW2 please help
Have you seen this yet?
The narrators are not intended to be any particular character you would recognize. And I can tell you that one of the narrators is talented Julie Nathanson (http://www.julienathanson.com/).
I’ll tell you a little secret about the krait, that’s perhaps not so secret, but that may help you understand how and why they’ve changed since GW1. The krait once believed themselves to be the top of the food chain.
But, in these intervening years, they’ve been attacked, driven from their deeps, scattered into smaller groups, and forced to move into more shallow waters. The rise of the dragons gave them a little taste of humble pie. (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Unending_Ocean)
This group of krait are hungry to regain their previous level of power and confidence, and they believe that the one way they can do it is via their prophets. And Scarlet offered them a chance to take back what they’ve lost.
As the wiki says, “Krait doctrine fortells the return of the obelisks’ prophets, bringing with them massive armies to flood the surface of the world and destroy other species.” (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Krait)
They may have wished they could do it a different way, but this particular group of krait agreed to Scarlet’s offer of obelisk shards and the chance to “grow” a prophet.
Keep an eye on the patch notes; as soon as it’s ready to be in, it will be there.
Thank you for submitting these questions. We will review the questions from this week’s thread, as well as those from the other language forums. We will chose a group of them to hand over to the various Development Teams. Their replies will be posted in all language forums on Friday March 7.
Thanks for the feedback all, I’m going to go ahead and close the thread!
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to jump in here as well and say thanks for everyone that is posting constructive and insightful feedback on the ladder topic. It’s great to see all sorts of player types commenting on this subject.
To copy Colin I would consider myself a competitive person in games. I love challenging players better than myself and learning from my mistakes. Rewards that inspired me were being part of the community, going to community events, and beating other teams/players that I was friends with to see who was better that day. I come from a fighting game background so for me having new combos, set-ups, and character knowledge to take to a local tournament to be number 1 pushed me into training mode for hours on end. For me something to show my time spent or accomplishments to the community is what I would play for the most.
Keep your ideas and feedback coming everyone!
Is there a particular critter that’s doing this?
Grin, this was (and now confirmed) one of the topics I didn’t feel scared of bumping!
But why is this not a sticky, I checked the German (I can read it but my German spelling is horrible) forum and they have a similar topic as a sticky.
And the same would go for the other 3 topics of course.
It’s a fair question. I’m concerned that forum members who have their settings to display, say, just 25 posts will see a “Wall o’ Stickies” and have to dig down too deep to see the daily member posts.
Too, based on the number of people who don’t seem to read vital threads like the “A Note about Phishing E-mails” sticky but instead post separate threads about a phishing attempt that’s month’s old, I have a feeling people’s eyes gloss over at the stickies and they move immediately to the non-sticky section.
I’ll give it some thought, for sure!

Christina, we want everyone in Guild Wars 2 to feel like a hero in the game. But, it’s good for us to be reminded that there are those who exercise extreme bravery and strength every day in their real lives. Thank you for taking the time to share your feelings. It means so much to us. We believe strongly in the power of diversity, not just as a tool for telling good stories, but also as one of the things that makes our REAL world so interesting and inspiring. You’re very much a part of that. BIG HUG!
I’m glad your ticket went through, and yes, CS will get back to you as soon as possible.

I can say I’m guilty of submitting a second ticket but not because I wasn’t getting help fast enough, it’s because I didn’t include specific things as to what happened for me to submit X ticket & the second ticket actually got a response VS the first – But I’m not encouraging anything at all because I know the hassle it can be for you guys
But I’m bumping!
Thanks for the bump. We generally ask “NO bumping” but there are four threads in this particular forum that we like to keep front and center.
As to the situation you describe, thanks for a chance to spread the word about updating a ticket:
If you ever have more info to add to a ticket, don’t create a new one! Respond to the e-mail you received from support, with the 6-digit ticket number in the subject line, to include new info, amend what you previously wrote, or even say “Hey, I’m good now, you can close the ticket.”
Thanks!

Yep. If you have a NA version of the game, then you’ll need to make subsequent purchases, such as gems or upgrades, with the currency supported through the interface that is presented to you when you enter the Gem Store.
For example, someone in the US who acquired a UK version would see Pounds Sterling in the purchase interface, rather than US Dollars. It’s not difficult to make that purchase, you just do it in the “native” currency that is offered through the interface, just as you would through any other store in another country.
And just for clarity, Customer Support cannot change the version of the game but as I explained, I don’t see it as being a huge hindrance for you.

The team will review the situation carefully. Do be aware, as others have said and as I just wrote in another thread, if there was any sharing of the account, it will be reflected on the account history and will probably render you ineligible for a refund. Again, I’m very sorry for the losses you sustained.

Icko — to be honest, account issues like the one you’ve written about can take more than three days. You can update your ticket by simply responding to the most recent e-mail with the 6-digit incident number in the subject line.
To confirm general policy: If an account is compromised (“hacked”) by an unknown third party, it’s entirely possible that we can restore (roll back) the account, once the account has been secured, upon request of the owner, and with careful verification of the account history and the compromise incident.
Naturally, there are exceptions. Those involved in account sharing are not restored. Accounts that are transferred — resold, traded, given away — are not eligible. Accounts that are involved in multiple compromise incidents are ineligible for additional restorations for a number of reasons.
Restorations are not used to replace individual items or characters, but are only offered for full-account rollbacks under specific circumstances.
I hope this info is helpful.

As someone who walks with a cane part time, I was VERY pleased to see Taimi and couldn’t wait for the rest of the community to meet her, too. So proud to be on this team. <3
I’m curious if you have the Gw2.exe in your temp folder by accident. The easiest way to resolve this issue is to pull the executable out of the temp drive and place it on your C drive. You can do this by following the steps below:
1. Hold down the Windows button on the keyboard and hit the “R” key.
2. Paste in the following line: C:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp
3. Click “OK.”
4. Find Gw2.exe and right-click on the file and select “Cut.”
5. Go to your C drive and into the Games folder. If there is no Games folder, create one.
6. In the Games folder, create a folder called “Guild Wars 2” and open that folder.
7. In the Guild Wars 2 folder, right-click and select “Paste."
8. Run Gw2.exe from the Guild Wars 2 folder.
The game should launch and immediately start patching. Two additional files should be created: Gw2.dat and Gw2.tmp
For any of you having character specific crashes please submit a support ticket so we can assist you with this issue. In the meantime, please try the following:
Please go to your shortcut for Guild Wars 2 and right click it and choose properties.
In the line that says Target, add a space at the end of whats there and then -prefreset
It should look something like this: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -prefreset
Click apply and then ok.
Once the above is done, try launching the game and logging into the character you are having issues with. If this resolves the issue, go back into your shortcut again and remove the -prefreset line.
Beyond this, there really isn’t any troubleshooting that we could suggest to resolve this issue as it’s not an issue with your system as it’s only affecting one character.
I am glad these nice people set your mind at rest.

Hi guys, OP here. My issue finally got resolved! I had to purchase the game all over again but now I can finally play. My issue seems to have been caused by the payment processor due to possible unauthorized credit card activity. I’m hoping this doesn’t happen again and hope to see you all in-game!
I’m so glad this all worked out. Of course, you didn’t pay twice for the game, because of the first refund. But I am sorry for any inconvenience this caused you, and we’re delighted to welcome you to Tyria! Have fun out there!

But on to the point of explorable modes not being heavily story driven. Why does the new aetherpath in Twilight Arbor still have unskippable cutscenes and needlessly long dialogues? This is a major reason a lot of players avoid the path.
This is a perfect example of why heavily driving a lot of lore and story into something that is intended to be a group re-playable experience isn’t a great idea, and something typically we try and avoid. Thus the challenge here, to get across these cool stories, without the cost of the pacing of the fractal experience!
An idea would be to incorporate Lore Scrolls that can be earned by completing achievements within the fractals or made to be a drop kinda like the blueprints from bags that when you piece them all together, you get the Lore story told either through a cinematic or a simple slide show with text, similar to the new Atlas content. This would allow players to experience the Lore outside of the fractal and not weigh down the team waiting on a cinematic to complete. I think it would be really cool to have the chance to experience some lore like the Edge of Steel in the Arena fighting gladiator style, or even reliving a dragonspawn battle with Destiny’s Edge. Seeing the dwarven race driven underground…..I am sure you get the picture. Have the scrolls pertain to the story related to the fractal in which it came.
I personally think a well made fractal either tells its own story in the case of the Ascalonian city fractal, or allows you to conjure up a story in your head for it. The cliffside fractal does this to perfection for example.
Having said that, I like the lore blueprint idea. That gives re-playability for casuals like myself with no interest in higher tiers.
I also love the idea of Destinys Edge fractals, maybe as a playable set you can choose inside. The arena, the dragonspawn fights, battling Kralkatorriks minions and the death of Snaff – all key moments in the book which could be played out.
This is a really good point:
I personally think a well made fractal either tells its own story in the case of the Ascalonian city fractal, or allows you to conjure up a story in your head for it. The cliffside fractal does this to perfection for example.
And one we should always aspire to regardless of additional exposition of law.
Chris

My main, Sammijay, crashes the game whenever i try to log in.
Attempts to load in at labyrinthine cliffs, then swaps to geddaran fields, then back to labyrinthine cliffs, then the game crashes.
i have sent in a support ticket, but i was wondering how long would that take? or if i could get it fixed sooner? (hear stories of tickets taking weeks)
coming back to the game and would like to get straight into it
Sorry to be a bother.
I am glad you submitted a ticket. I want the team to be able to look at your account, so that’s the way to do it. Responses can take time, especially in unusual cases, and these situations where just one character is inaccessible are pretty rare! You’ll get a response just as soon as someone can get back to you.

I didn’t say Rangers are in the right spot. I just meant that we have to be very careful of the power creep.
Edited to add a point on the glory booster refund.
If you purchased the booster through the gem store and have not used it by the time they are removed, you will be eligible for a refund.
I can’t reproduce the issue you’re seeing. Sidekicking is the same across the game—this particular story step doesn’t have any custom sidekicking going on. What is your weapon level and character level? With a L80 character I had a very slight reduction in damage compared to the open world since I was sidekicked down to L76, but I was still killing everything with relative ease.
We’re seeing that power creep is a big problem in the game right now, so bringing the Ranger up to snuff would only exacerbate that. When we do balance patches, we like to look at every class and where they are at so we can balance appropriately throughout.
Of course, it can be hard to account for certain things when doing these patches, which is why we’re trying to do the patches less frequently so we can properly gauge what needs to be done (that’s not to say that we won’t hotfix any major issues that arise).
As the agent explained yesterday, this matter is under review and you will get a response as soon as possible. I understand and sympathize with your agitation, but we’ll get this sorted out!

The serial code is very rarely required to obtain help. It may come into play if two people claim an account and both have identical information. At that point, the serial code could be critical. But for 99.9% of all support issues, you can leave that field blank, provide the other information you’re able to provide, and the team will be able to help you.

Yes, like I said about the sustained vs burst, it’s not necessarily fully functional in the game. This is one of those things that we would have to balance with bringing other classes down a bit as far as damage output. Burst damage needs to have risk involved, and we know that right now many classes don’t have that associated risk.

Hi there,
Since you’re getting so many different errors I’d rather you contact us directly by submitting a support ticket since we may need to request some information from you in order to further investigate this issue.
If you do submit a support ticket, please let us know what steps you’ve already tried so we’re not running you through things that you’ve already done.
A very likely possibility.
Shut up!
