So, this is what happens during lunch breaks here…
Hugh asked our map artist Darrin to photoshop Chap after he saw the post. Priceless!
Darrin is the man.
I am still looking into those items under review. Will update if I get more info today.

According to a member of our programming team, there is a known issue that is preventing some players from getting rewards. The team is investigating.
However, quite often, a player is mistaken about the status of their account or is shown that rewards are due when they aren’t quite earned. Players should do some troubleshooting steps before submitting a ticket, because this might be resolvable individually, and ,may not be related to any bug.
Here are some troubleshooting steps:
- Log into the game with the character that has the 100% world completion.
- Go to Bloodtide Coast via Lion’s Arch and enter the Chantry of Secrets.
- Make sure that you have claimed the “Sanctum of Secrets” Point of Interest within this map instance.
- Some of the skill challenges require you to consume an item. If this item has been consumed in a zone other than the one in which the skill challenge is located, you will not receive the rewards for 100% world completion. Revisit every map in the game and that may resolve your issue and grant you your items.
Also, sometimes the title is rewarded prematurely (in error). To receive the rewards for fully exploring the world, please carefully review each map for missing Points of Interest, Skill Challenges, Renown Regions, and Waypoints with the single character with whom you are trying to finish the task. The most common areas that are missed are World vs. World maps, Chantry of Secrets, and the various city maps, such as Divinity’s Reach, Black Citadel, etc.
More:
Generally we find that players are resolving the problem by revisiting each the following cities.
- Lion’s Arch
- Rata Sum
- Black Citadel
- Divinity’s Reach
- Hoelbrak
- The Grove
Player Notes:
- I just fixed after reading some solutions here, come back to whisper cathedral ( i alredy had explored ) and go back to the last interset point, work for me.
- [Player] teleported to all the map locations and found that he had not opened the reward chest (the one you see each time you finish a map or after completing daily quests or dungeons) on one particular map. After opening the chest, another reward popped up and he was able to obtain the Gifts of Exploration.
I hope all this is helpful to you. If after doing these steps and following these tips you continue to need assistance, please submit a ticket. If you already submitted a ticket some time ago (say, more than a week ago) and, after going through the troubleshooting steps above, still need help you can simply respond to your ticket and say you still have not received your rewards.

how/where can I see my ticket number? :-P (its not about this problem btw) but couldn’t find the number after you reported a bug in game
Reporting in the game does not open a support ticket. It simply sends a message about a bug to the team, and no response is possible nor is it possible for the team to investigate individual issues such as this via a in-game bug report. (To see the difference, consider: This is happening to your account. A map glitch would happen to everyone player. So the latter would be fine for an in-game report, but something that’s impacting your account needs a ticket. You see?)
To submit an individual ticket — which is required in a case of this nature, or anything related to your individual account — please click “Support” at the top of this page, then “Submit a request” to start the submission process. Please note there are two drop-down areas that must be completed, and space for you to describe your issue.
Upon submission of a ticket, you will receive a response that contains your six-digit ticket number.

The first 4 tiers of the Citizen Rescue award a Standard Citizen’s Rescue Bag. The 5th and final tier awards an Ultimate Citizen’s Rescue Bag.
There is a missing ledge in this Jumping Puzzle, we are working to add it back in to allow you to complete it in the intended manner!
Tickets are never really ‘closed’. The term ‘closed’ or ‘resolved’ is used for the moment when everything that needed to be said is said and everything needed to be done is done.
In some (rare) situations it happens that the customer (you) thinks there is still a lot to do or to be said, but support disagrees and gives a final answer. But in most situations this point is reached through mutual consensus.
You might be confused with the moment you recieve the survey where you are asked to rate support.
I always say that support has targetted themselfes to answer within 72 hours. This is not the full truth. This target is (in most company’s) decided by higher managers AND is used to measure how good the support department is. This also means (I suspect) that you will get a survey after 72 hour to rate how your ticket got resolved. So even if you haven’t recieved an answer yet. Obvious, the answer will likely be negative, but due to the target being 72 hours, support knows that when they dont make that target they get a negative response.
Actually, tickets are closed, but not in the manner that the OP worried about: after three days without a response. It just doesn’t happen that way and you were correct about that part of it.
The surveys are going out somewhat incorrectly and we hope to address that so that players get their surveys after the issue is fully resolved. Surveys are not sent out as part of management’s tracking of agent or team performance in the sense of knowing whether tickets are getting a timely response. Nor are they sent out as a means to hasten agent responses. We have other, most sophisticated means to track performance and timeliness on many levels, and surveys being sent out at the 72-hour point is not part of that tracking process.

- We’ve recently made changes designed to keep our players better informed about the status of their ticket(s)
- We don’t close tickets if they have not had a response from an agent, quite the contrary!
- We leave tickets open unless the customer has not replied in three days, at which time the issue generally is considered resolved and the ticket automatically closes.
- However, at any time a player can reopen or send a follow-up to his or her ticket by answering the most-recent e-mail about the existing ticket and including new information or simply asking about the status.

Greetings all.
Since this question was answered and is not an account issue for CS, we are closing this thread.
Greetings,
We are excited to bring you the Dolyak Express Community initiative! If you’re not familiar with the Dolyak Express, you can read the original post about it called Many Questions, So Dev. For the first batch of questions, the Community Team searched all four language forums for a variety of great questions. You can see the follow up with answers here!
We are maintaining an archive of all Dolyak Express Q&A sessions. The archive is a stickied post, and will be updated each time we post new topics.
In the future, we may pick questions again from our forums, but for most Dolyak Express Q&As, we’ll open them up to specific topics. We’re now opening up a thread for questions and here’s your topic: Audio Production
Please refer back to the Many Questions, So Dev post for guidelines on asking your questions.
All of the potions were fixed with the update on Tuesday, but the release note got missed. It was while I was confirming that the fix went out that I spotted the issue with the Scarlet’s Armies potion, so that got fixed in the later update.

Hi All,
I am out of the office today so I doubt I will be on this thread to much.
This said the conversation seems to be winding down. I would appreciate it however if you could take a little bit of time to assist The Lost Witch in answering the questions put forward as this will be valuable to us moving forward.
Chris
This is rapidly turning into just a rehash of the last process thread.
I understand that no one person has the time to read every single post in every single thread, and some of them are more worth reading than others. However, there is no format or process to eliminate human idiosyncrasy. When soliciting feedback from such a large group of people, it is always going to run the gamut from inspired to inane, and from cryptically terse to breathtakingly long-winded.
What bothers me is the prospect of the process becoming hoops to jump through for an illusion of interaction. “Give us your feedback…but only if ____.” “Tell us what you think, but not if ____.” Not all worthwhile feedback is perfectly-formatted sound bites that look good on paper, and not all perfectly-formatted sound bites that look good on paper are worthwhile feedback. Have we as a species really lost the ability to process written information more than two sentences long?
I really want the CDIs to be more than a paper exercise or a PR gimmick. Maybe we should just kinda…get on with it, lest we end up having the same circular administrative discussions instead of actual dialogue about the game content itself. For Anet’s part, is there scope for an internship of some kind for a person or persons to go through the forums/CDI topics, summarise, and report back on particularly salient ideas?
Hi Laurelinde,
‘For Anet’s part, is there scope for an internship of some kind for a person or persons to go through the forums/CDI topics, summarise, and report back on particularly salient ideas?’
I feel you are basing much of your argument/feedback on assumptions and this is reflected in many of your posts on the CDI. So I will try and clear some of these up for you:
- I do not work in Marketing and this is not a marketing exercise. I am a game designer.
- The CDI is a development tool.
- An intern would not have a thorough understanding of what we are working on or how we prioritize workloads in the studio never mind have a deep enough understanding of the game’s design or the synergistic relationship of the communities play behaviors with said design to extract ‘Salient’ points. This take years and years of experience.
- Therefore it is integral that it is developers who work with the community on this initiative.
-Thus a careful balance must be met to ensure we all get the best out of our time.
- Time therefore is the primary resource of the CDI and I am simply asking that we are more efficient with it.
I hope this makes things a little more transparent.

DOLYAK EXPRESS: CHARACTERS AND RELATIONSHIPS IN TYRIA
Greetings,
Today, we have answers to some of your questions about characters and relationships in Tyria from this thread and the other language forums. Today’s answers come from Angel McCoy, Bobby Stein and Scott McGough.
Q: Do charr understand the concept of love, or do they select merely based on primal instincts like protection, best fit, alpha status and alike (much like in an animal society)?
Angel McCoy: Charr most definitely understand love, fall in love, fall out of love, and love friends and warband-mates deeply. When it comes to procreation, opinions vary. There are those who look for the partner with the best “genes,” and there are the surprise pregnancies as well. There are couples who love each other and want to make little versions of themselves. Everyone is an individual.
Scott McGough: I’d like to add that the charr are largely a military culture, so the qualities that make for a good soldier (bravery, fighting skill, leadership ability, loyalty, etc.) are considered attractive, but that is not the only criteria a charr has in terms of who they seek out as a compatible partner.
Q: I play a charr, but I can walk through Ebonhawke without getting the stink eye – where is all this sudden tolerance coming from?
Angel: The cease fire while treaty talks are under way. Humans and charr are currently under a cease fire arranged between the legions and the queen. Only renegades and separatists take action against the other race, and they’re bad guys.
Scott: Also, random open hostility by humans toward charr in Ebonhawke would raise the ire of both Divinity’s Reach and the Black Citadel, and drawing too much attention to the Separatists’ provocative underground political/martial movement is a sure way to get that movement crushed before it gets results. In other words, the anti-charr humans of Ebonhawke don’t like charr, but they know enough to bide their time and pick their battles.
Q: Are there relationships between races in Tyria? We know of Braham and Rox…but is such a thing more common or the rare exception? And is there a possibility for cross-species offspring?
Angel: That is up to each individual to roleplay. You will currently find no official cross-species NPC relationships in the game. Rox and Braham are good friends. That’s not to say we might not one day have one.
Q: Who were Taimi’s parents? What is Zojja’s role in Taimi’s education?
Bobby Stein: We intend to explore answers to both questions in future stories. Stay tuned.
Q: Why can’t Logan and Jennah love each other freely or marry each other? Is there a tradition preventing them? Can’t the queen choose her consort? Is Logan not highly born enough (he is still Gwen’s descendant)?
Angel: The nobility of Kryta is modeled on historic medieval feudalism. It’s unusual, and frowned upon, for people from different social strata to intermingle. Of course, there are always trysts between gentry, commoner, and street folk, and even love. But, socially, especially from the point of view of the gentry, it’s considered demeaning. There are also real social boundaries to it. A noble must behave a certain way and speak a certain way when in noble company. Most commoner and street people don’t dress, talk, or behave that way, and they actually disdain that kind of “snootiness.” There are stories in history of a royal loving and even marrying a commoner, but these are rare and come with heavy repercussions to both usually.
Specific to Logan and the queen, there are a lot of political machinations going on behind the scenes. They have many hurdles to overcome if they’re to be together, the least of which is that they both have bigger priorities to deal with. We’ll delve into these more at a later time.
Q: Why the focus on the characters instead of the world…
Bobby: We’ve populated most of the explorable and city maps with lots of ambient characters, creatures, events, and secret areas. I don’t believe we’ve chosen one over the other, since we’ve put a lot of resources into building an immersive, interactive world that players are free to explore at their own pace.
Q: …And why the emphasis on providing a narrative of a character before we’re really given a chance to make our own assumptions and preferences about them?
Bobby: For the Personal Story, we wanted to give players the opportunity to do a little roleplaying by letting them customize the look of their characters and pick their backstories, which affect certain chapters in their journey. This is a bit of a change from the original Guild Wars, but we felt it was an important evolution of the player experience.
Q: Recently, characters seem a lot more fleshed out and entertaining. Is this due to a specific change in how you write or just learning from experience?
Bobby: Thanks for the compliment! We actually haven’t changed too much about the writing itself, but we have put more resources into the presentation, which is probably what you’re noticing. We’ve learned a lot over time, and as a result we’ve evolved our story creation process. Our story meetings these days are a lot more involved and are very collaborative across disciplines. People on the teams are becoming very invested in these stories and characters. That makes a huge difference in the quality.
In the past, we generally didn’t build story instances where the player could interact with these characters, nor did we have the resources to build a lot of cinematics or special areas like Scarlet’s Lair. We even wrote (and voiced) a lot of character-building moments that unfortunately never made it into the game due to time constraints.
We examined player feedback over the course of 2013, and realized that we weren’t giving people enough opportunities to get to know our characters or understand the season plot. We were being a little too secretive and leaving too much to speculation. So starting with the Nightmare Tower releases we built more content specifically to impart story and develop our characters, and the responses have been overwhelmingly positive. Because of that, we’ve more closely partnered with designers, artists, and audio folk to continue to improve the story and characterization.
I’m especially excited about the remaining episodes of this season. We’ve got a couple of surprises in store, so I hope you’ll join us for the season finale!
Q: Do you have plans, or would you consider, adding a prominent gay male couple to the world (not sectioned off into one sylvari personal story path), and additional prominent people of color (i.e. non-white human/norn) to the world?
Angel: Absolutely. But we’re not in any hurry to do it just to do it. We’ll do it when the story calls for it.
Q: Some questions regarding Garm; how did he and Eir meet, and where specifically? And assuming dire wolves are by now extinct in Tyria (as well) with the only live specimen being him, what happened to the pack he was born into? Lastly, what happened between them that makes him follow Eir as his ‘alpha’?
Angel: That’s a big story. I’ll put it into my list of possible ideas to tackle in a blog post.
Q: Lorewise, how close is the bond between a Player and their npc Companions (Ranger Pet, Necromancer Minions, Thieves Guild, etc.)?
Angel: That depends on the character. Everyone is an individual, and it would do no good to generalize something like this. Each player can choose to roleplay their relationships as they wish.
Q: What exactly was it that caused Sayeh al’Rajihd and Trahearne to join forces the first time they met?
Angel: We’re keeping this story in our pocket for potential future release.
Q: How come Queen Jennah is so trusting towards Lion’s Arch? It is a melting pot lair of pirates ruled by the fiercest of them all, when she, on the other side, lead a battle against Kryta’s bandits who are not so different?
Angel: Lion’s Arch has been an established trade ally for a long time. She may not trust individuals from LA, but the city as a whole is very unlikely to attack Divinity’s Reach. Kryta’s bandits, on the other hand, are in the streets of DR and have damaged the DR economy as well as assaulting citizens. They are an immediate threat to DR.
Q: Which characters and their relationships inspired the developers the most?
Scott: Every developer and designer has a different answer, but (tongue firmly in cheek here), if we had to pick one answer, it would be Hobo-Tron and Minstrel Marcello.
Bobby: Lord Faren and himself.

Like I mentioned here, I play everything in PvP, but I spend most of my time on engineer. On the PvE/WvW side, I have two level 80s – engineer and thief. Everything else is level 1 (original gangster) or level 2. I have 16 character slots so I have multiples of some professions loaded with different specs.
On engineer, I tend to stick to bomb/nades (or nades/TK/RBoots in WvW), running either 30 5 0 20 15 or 30 0 0 30 10 (no AR). For everything else? Zerk lava-tomb icebow staff ele, shatter mes, spirit ranger, condi or bunker war, condi nec, bunker guard, d/p thief, etc.
Hope that answers your question!
Gee, you are up late, Chris! And on a work night! That’s dedication! =)

Hi All,
I am out of the office tomorrow and very busy today. Therefore I am going to set the CDI topic kickoff to roughly 12pm PST on Monday. This is because I, like all of us, want to be able to give the new topics the attention they are due as the return on investment is huge.
I am going to keep this thread open for as long as it is useful and as a note I have started to remove posts that are of topic so in regard to this feedback early in the thread we are making headway in this area.
Chris
For those who missed info about the timing of the next topics.

Haven’t played my warrior in a while, but I believe I left him with sword/shield + longbow condi. Then I was playing static discharge engy for a while (still too noob to micro kits). Now I’m having a blast on my siphon necro!
Bra (80 Guard), Fixie Bow (80 Ranger), Wcharr (80 Ele)
Xdragonshadowninjax (80 Thief)
Hi again!
As Allie promised, I’m here to update the thread one more time before it returns to the depths. Thanks everyone for participating and having a civil conversation, relevant to the topic. Here’s a few more changes we’ll be including for the next feature build:
Elementalist:
Cleansing Water: This trait no longer has an internal cooldown while in PvP.
Meteor Shower: Updated the skill fact to display the increased endurance regeneration while the player has the Zephyr’s Focus trait. Added a red ring to indicate area of effect for enemy players. Added a white ring for allied players.
Engineer:
We’ve fixed a lot of turret issues that were causing them to behave poorly or inconsistently (many of these issues have been reported via the bug forums, thanks guys!) In the coming patch, you’ll see quite a few improvements in this area. For example:
• Fixed the bug that was causing all turrets to have a lower rate of fire than intended.
• Fixed the bug that was preventing the overcharge for the Rifle Turret from increasing its rate of fire.
Guardian:
This one is more of a bug fix, but will help out nonetheless:
Searing Flames: This trait now activates only if the target has a boon on them.
Necromancer:
Fixed the bug which caused your heal/utility skills to be locked out when you exit deathshroud.
Ranger:
Ranger pets are receiving a responsiveness pass and will be much easier to command. For example: Activating your F2 skill will now break your pet out of its current action in order to execute that ability.
Once again, this is not the end of the notes and there’s a lot of stuff we’ll be talking about soon! We’re looking forward to it.
-Karl
Since a post already exists on this topic (and is in the original post), we’ll close this one so folks can leave their comments on the other.
Hugh is also a Warrior IRL.
Did you know?
Tryndamere (LOL) is actually based on Hugh. So is Akuma….or any “all in” character, in any game.
Ever.
“Every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world.”
-Arthur Schopenhauer
We are still working on the implementation. We’ll let you know when they are back in.
I play Warrior mainly and I dip a bit into guardian and necro. Warrior has been and will always be my favorite, I played it during all the beta weekends and will continue to play it. I mainly run Ham/Bow and Sword/Sword + Bow, but I usually run the most glassy warrior I can run and then go all in. When I am feeling saucy I run my old Axe/Shield + Rifle build.
Blush Lift — I think you should reach out to Support through a ticket. We may be able to help!
