Hey everyone,
For our upcoming CDI projects, we’re going to start asking for feedback on specific professions.
Please vote here on which 3 professions you feel need the most help right now.

Hey everyone,
For our upcoming CDI projects, we would like to collect your ideas for professions that need balancing. Since there are 8 professions, we would like to do one at a time and would like you to vote on which one comes first.
Please pick the three professions that you feel need the most help right now and list them in order of priority like so:
Example
1. Profession1 (this needs the most help by far)
2. Profession2 (this needs help, but not more than 1)
3. Profession3 (this needs help, but not more than 1 & 2)
Please keep your post to just your 3 votes. If you have any questions, you may ask them here as well.
We will collect the information at the end of the day tomorrow (5:00pm pacific), so make sure to get your vote in before then!
Thanks!
Are we going down this path again Gidorah?
Chris
Nah. By now, nobody actually expects you guys to talk with us about it.
But even if you did, an entire CDI on it would be overkill.
Personally I think a CDI on the BLT would be good to do at some point.
Chris
It should be two separate CDI. One for the gem store. One for the part where players are trading stuff with each other. Stuff like the very obvious missing/broken bits in the search function. The two are different enough that they shouldn’t be discussed together.
I somewhat agree. A CDI about the gem shop would likely revolve around definitions of P2W and vertical item progression. We have discussed that amongst ourselves already and the only pertinent information Arenanet could offer is their own definitions. Personally, I think providing those definitions is necessary. Suspense is all well and good in story telling but not in the monetization of storytelling.
Hello Chris Whiteside and thank you for the response. Would you be able to describe the process the dev team used in deciding upon the next topic? I’m not looking for a gotcha moment, just think it would help in the process of mutual emulation. Knowing how the dev team chooses topics would help us choose future topics.
Say what?? You want us to chose topics that ANet wants to talk about instead of topics that we want to talk about. How sycophantic can you be? The whole idea of this thing is for players to be able to bring up topics and idea/complaints/suggestions that are important to us … irrespective of what ANet thinks. Not that any of that has worked, of course, but still …
The CDI group discussed determination of topics in this thread and decided to try having us choose the next topics for this round (previously topics were voted for). We will see how this goes and go from there. I would suggest you read the thread thoroughly before making just broad assumptions in future.
’ Not that any of that has worked, of course, but still ..’
Finally I am sorry you feel this way about the CDI. Should you have been following it closely you would already have seen the massive impact it has had in game.
Regardless thanks for your feedback.
Chris
You’re right … I shouldn’t have generalized. I am (or at least was) primarily a WvW player, and I’ve been extremely disappointed in the total lack of response (notice I didn’t say results) to the extensive WvW CDI threads. I think my comments apply perfectly to them. We poured our hearts out in them and believed you when you said we’d get some sort of summary and feedback on the many constructive ideas offered there. We got none of that, hence my “not that any of that worked” comment.
Thanks for the clarification Cactus, I understand. I will discuss this with Colin and we can go from there.
Chris
Just one thing:
don’t make the topics of the CDI too big. Probably start more smaller topics instead of one big one. (if possible)
Thanks Unleashed. I have updated the summary.
Chris
Hi All,
In summary we will be doing the following changes to best working practices around the CDI based on this discussion:
1: I will ask collaborators to discuss and propose points succinctly.
2: I will build a ‘suggested’ template for the format of proposals.
3: We will do broader advertising of the CDI topics so more community members are aware.
4: I will post specific dates for the start and end of CDI topics.
5: We will not let topics run and run. (To be honest I am quite disappointed with much of the commentary being way of topic over the last few pages and this is due to me leaving the thread open when it had run its course.)
6: We will reassess Topic determination after the next round of CDI topics.
7: Where possible we will try to run CDI topics concurrently.
8: I will discuss the creation of a sub forum for CDI with the Community team.
9: Posts will be removed moving forward if they are not pertinent to the topic of the CDI.
10: CDI Topics will be less broad in order to ensure a more focused discussion. Thanks once again for your input and passion toward Guild Wars 2 and in this specific case the CDI.
We now know the topics for the next round of CDIs and I will publish these on Friday.
Chris

Chris, can you address, at all, the over the top locking and deletion of entire threads over one or two posts?
There are thousands of suggestions that are worthwhile, and simply disappearing, because someone dared say anything less than wonderful about Anet.
For an example – the last one I took part in was completely removed because I pointed out that the game is rather poorly optimised for high-end systems. Nothing rude, just a statement of fact. Then something like 2000 posts just disappeared, because that qualifies as “Calling out of an Anet employee”.
It’s things like this, more than anything, that lead to the entire “the devs never listen” attitude throughout the forums/game.
I will work with our community team and look into this.
Chris
Please let me know folks if there is anything I have missed before I lock and sticky this thread.
Chris
Just keep it on-topic and avoid profanity, images full of profanity/inappropriate content, name-calling, and all the other bad things.
Was going to PM you this, but I had a question: If we made a discussion thread (and had it about dungeons, and dungeon related items and kept it clean, friendly, and not insulting) is that allowed? That is sort of what the fails thread turned into, and I am wondering if we can make a thread like that (assuming it adheres to the rest of the forum terms)?
Edit, also is it possible to get it just closed instead of deleted? There are a lot of posts and information and stuff there, that I’d love to be able to use (it’s basically my dungeon index)
First, yes, discussions of Dungeons and activity in them is why the Dungeons sub-forum exists.
And alas, the thread would have taken hours to go back and moderate. Our forum software does not allow us to do bulk deletions.
Are we going down this path again Gidorah?

Thanks for the report. I have a fix for this in a future release.
I want to point out that the suggestions provided by a forum member are based on individual speculation and do not reflect how the game or customer support functions. This is one person’s opinion of how things work, and one player’s personal suggestions of how to conduct a transaction.
All forum members: We would very much appreciate if such posts include a notation that the statements are opinion or speculation and are not a presentation of absolute fact. If you care to share official posts that contain such verbiage, then please provide a link so that forum members reading the post can verify that such statements are from ArenaNet rather than an individual forum member’s opinion, speculation, or personal interpretation of how things may work.

Been a year now since i’ve seen this topic discussed, do you guys over at ANet have the capability to reinstate a deleted character yet?
No, we do not have the option at this time.

I have been getting another batch of “Hey can you look at this ticket?” or “I got disconnected, what’s going on with the game?” or “I think I’m being harassed, will you investigate?” private messages.
Pretty much anything that brings you to the forums can be posted in the forums and should not be sent to me via PM. Issues of a personal nature, such as individual harassment, should be submitted via a ticket, so the team can investigate.
- If it’s an individual issue, please submit a ticket.
- If it’s a general issue, please post in the forums where the answer will benefit everyone.
Exception: If you know of a game exploit, you should write exploits@arena.net or you can PM me, but sending an email is much the preferred means of the team knowing about a possible exploit.
Thanks for understanding.

Greetings,
Please note that we do not allow Match-up threads on the Guild Wars 2 forum. You can read about our forum changes here:

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think we have a pretty good idea of what we want to offer and where we want to tweak existing sets.

We can discuss any part of the game that is already live.
like watchwork picks?
((Grrr. Froth. Snarl. Grrrr…))
I approve of enlightened self-interest and creative monetization.
The watchwork pick is neither of those things.
lol i dont particularly care about the pick i care that they want to stonewall people by ignoring them long enough till they get bitter and make the forums worse. its how the wvw forums got so toxic devs ignored them till people lost all respect for the wvw dev’s.

The explorer achievements are not tied to map competion. You can have 100% map completion and not have all the explorer achievements
Yes, exploration is based on discovering every sector in the map. Not all sectors have a POI/skill challenge/etc. so you can 100% a map but still have an undiscovered sector. Check each map and look for any “blurred” sections of the map.
I could only see that change making sense once we have new game modes. Otherwise it would just say conquest in a game that is currently all conquest. Either way, I’ll pass it on to the team!
Thanks for the feedback, as always
Quick update: there’s a fix planned for a future update, but I can’t give an ETA on when it will be rolled out to Live.
(edited by Jeffrey Vaughn.1793)
Rox, Braham, Marjory, Kasmeer, and Taimi are referred to internally as “B-Iconics” (or Biconics) as opposed to our “A-Iconics” or main iconic characters, Caithe, Rytlock, Eir, Zojja, and Logan. They are not a “replacement” for Destiny’s Edge; these characters fulfill a different role in the story. Because members of Destiny’s Edge are so entwined with your Personal Story as well as the over-arching story with Zhaitan, and because the Living World plot lines are taking place at the same time all those other story threads, we couldn’t have the members of Destiny’s Edge splitting themselves between these other areas and what was going on with Living World. This is partly why we introduced these new characters.

The reason why it is called sPvP is because it is structured, and not the only form of PvP in our game.
PvP = WvW + sPvP in the world of Guild Wars 2.
It’s not an acceptable measure of anything, because it’s not accurate data or a consensus of what the majority of the playerbase wants. I was using it as an example to prove that it is not a majority request to have the map removed from Solo Arena.
Everyone, I appreciate you taking the time to catch me up, but since this thread has turned into a conversation about skyhammer, I’m going to go ahead and lock it.
I’m glad to be back, and look forward to helping you guys make a difference in our game.

Ok everyone, it looks like this is actually a bug with the script. We will be implementing a fix for it, along with many other things to come. I realize some of you feel this bug fix will hurt Elementalists, but we will have a lot of great changes coming soon so you shouldn’t feel it too much.
Did you click on the little arrow drop down box in the “Issue” part of your ticket?
Good suggestion! I feel that issue drop-down could be a lot more visible! I will see if we can make a change to make that pop.
In the meantime, did that suggestion help you, paulusp? If not, feel free to send an e-mail to Support@GuildWars2.com and a ticket will be created for you. Use a descriptive subject line — that really helps!
